In addition to the freely available JournalTOCs service, we offer low-cost, effective customisations to research, academic, commercial and institutional library and resource centres worldwide.

The customisation called JournalTOCs *Premium* is an innovative and much more economic alternative to large and complex e-journal Current Awareness Services (CAS). A customisation will give your users fast and easy access to the full-text of the most current papers published in the electronic journals to which your Library subscribes, plus a number of premium functionalities.

JournalTOCs *Premium*, is an easily managed current awareness service which gives the library's patrons personalised alerts from 27,682 journal TOCs (3,359 publishers) through one single interface.

JournalTOCs *Premium* is for libraries and research information centres for which providing patrons with personalised access to the latest research is important. We offer a free trial to give you the chance to evaluate your customisation before making a financial commitment.

What is involved in setting up a trial?
We will install, configure, set up and host a customised installation for you and let you try out the features, ask us questions and demonstrate the product to your colleagues during 30 days for free. At the end of the trial we will offer you an annual licence, which you can accept or reject without any condition. If you accept, your trial site can simply become your customised site with your own look & feel but with no need for a new install, or we can transfer the customised site to your own institutional site.

How much cost a customised JournalTOCs Licence?
The price of an annual licence starts at £480.00 GBP and is in proportion to the number of journals, the estimated number of user accounts, the amount of tailored unique features requested for the customisation and the type of your organisation (e.g. non-for-profit institutions)

Who is using JournalTOCs *Premium*?
JournalTOCs *Premium* is trusted by diverse types of libraries and information centres from around the world. In addition to academic libraries, among our customers we have large pharmaceutical companies, hospital libraries, an agency of the United Nations (UN), and an aerospace research centre. The length and breadth of customers we deliver to are incredibly varied.

Who is using JournalTOCs *Premium* API?
The main customers of JournalTOCs *Premium* API are other information system providers such as Library Management System and Electronic Resources Management System providers that need up-to-date, automated and embeddable metadata for their alerting applications. They receive privileged and full access to the complete JournalTOCs database of articles, journals and publishers. They also have access to customised API calls specially tailored to empower their specific systems. For further information on JournalTOCs *Premium* API please contact journaltocs@hw.ac.uk.

Would new developments done for JournalTOCS be included in the customised services?
Yes. We are always developing new features for both the JournalTOCs free service and JournalTOCs *Premium*, which are immediately incorporated in your customisation at no extra cost for you.

Are the TOC RSS feeds produced by JournalTOCs also customisable?
Yes, some RSS feeds are automatically customised when you register for the trial. For example the original links in the publisher's TOC RSS feeds that take the user direct to the publisher's site are replaced with your institutional link resolver so the user's RSS reader could understand the authentication required when fetching off campus. If you have registered your institution with JournalTOCs, your users will be able to receive RSS feeds that include your own links for the articles. For example the call:
returns a TOC RSS with the links customised for Durham University.

I only want to be able to link the user to the JournalTOCs webpage straight from the journal in my e-journal A-Z list or from my OPAC, how do I construct a URL which will get the user to this page?
Linking to journal TOCs hosted by us is free to anyone. You don't need to register for a customisation to link TOCs directly from your web pages. For example to link to the TOCs of PNAS you can use any of the following URLs:

Do I need to register for a customisation if I just want to use the "institution" API call?
Yes. Because maintaining support for institutional queries requires extra costs, the use of the "institution" call requires a licence after the period of trial.
