Abstract: An ergonomic analysis of a chapati maker can provide valuable insights into the design and use of the device, and can help to identify opportunities to improve the safety and efficiency of work practices. Workers use Chapati maker throughout the day, which can cause a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal disorders caused by the individual's job are one of the main issues since they have a significant negative influence on quality of life, create a significant financial burden, and reduce productivity. Digital Human Modelling (DHM) software like CATIA V5 is used for both modelling humans and analysing ergonomics. The study employs observational methodology and experimental techniques such as the Nordic questionnaires, OWAS, RULA and REBA to gather data.

Abstract: The construction industry faces challenges and problems associated with craftsmen's output, which impacts the economic productivity of the construction sector. Construction workers in Nigeria have always been subjected to working within an unconducive environment, which has not allowed for a high level of economic productivity. This study extensively analyses some of these work environment factors affecting craftsmen's output on building sites in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. A survey of selected construction sites across Port Harcourt was carried out to acquire information regarding the work environment factors affecting craftsmen's output Using a mixed methods research approach, direct measurement of craftsmen output on site was carried out via observation, while questionnaires were designed to collate information on non-observable data. Observation of the activity of craftsmen within 8 working hours for three weeks was carried out to ascertain the craftsmen's output. A total of 160 questionnaires were sent out to eight (8) selected construction companies, which comprised large, medium, and small construction firms within Port Harcourt.The 12 most influential work environmental factors were identified and ranked using the overall importance index. Based on the questionnaire output, the highest ranked factors were Poor wages, Lack of financial motivation, Lack of materials, Weather changes, Supervision absenteeism, Interference, Overcrowding or congestion, unclear instruction, lack of tools/equipment, poor communication, rework and working high places. The variation in the output of craftsmen as observed on site was however mainly caused by delays to materials, receiving instructions, inclement weather, rework, and interference. Addressing these work environment factors, affecting craftsmen output on construction sites, is relevant to the increase in the economic productivity of the construction industry in Nigeria

Abstract: Industry 4.0 offers significant technology advancements, but businesses must overcome several obstacles before implementing it. Although a lot of work has gone into identifying the hurdles that most businesses face, the literature currently in publication has not taken the time to examine how these barriers relate to one another or what that means for practitioners. Within the framework of Portugal's manufacturing sector, we employ the interpretative structural modelling (ISM) technique to pinpoint these obstacles and their interrelationships, together with the matrix impact of cross multiplication applied to classification (MICMAC) study to pinpoint the underlying hurdles. The Technology-Organization-Environment framework is used to classify these obstacles. We come to the conclusion that the absence of readily available solutions and standardization-related obstacles are regarded as root impediments. Our findings deviate from those of other studies, which attribute the strongest driving power and lowest reliance power to obstacles relating to legal and contractual uncertainties. Additionally, we find that, in contrast to previous research on the subject, organisational impediments have the lowest driving strength and the highest reliance. We provide recommendations for managers and policymakers in three areas: Standardization Dissemination, Infrastructure Development, and Digital Strategy. Overcoming these challenges is very crucial for Indian SMEs, in moving towards the I4.0. Businesses improve their future plans by considering these challenges and devising a strategy to overcome it. Also, the dependability of different barriers on each other, which is quantified using MICMAC analysis, is a step forward in understanding these barriers better.

Abstract: The safe and healthy production of high-quality aquatic products is dependent on the use of a wide variety of water treatment equipment in recirculating aquaculture systems (RASs), which are models of intensive aquaculture facilities. With the use of bigger systems and improved production management procedures, significant cost reductions have been realised in the production of food fish. The work involved in handling fish must be minimised, and efficient tank rotational characteristics, mixing, and solids flushing must be achieved, via the design of the flow intake and outlet structures and fish grading and/or removal systems. The article provides an overview of the reasoning behind and criteria for designing culture tanks. Due of their enormous but frequently overlooked impact on system productivity, continuous production and satiation feeding techniques are also considered for usage inside tanks.

Abstract: This study aims at understanding the population of gig workers employed in the country in the field of unorganized food logistics, which is also one of the largest workforces in the country. The characteristics of gig work make the application of traditional labor law and employment standards hard to comply with, as it is related to digital platforms such as mobility, food delivery or e commerce. The focus of the work is mainly on the extension of the work, the amount of time spent, and the energy requirements. It is demonstrated through a survey of 100 individuals who work in this sector. About 60.9% of the labor force were found to be part timers and nearly all are below 26 years old. They travel an average of 100 kilometers for their work, on average. This kind of daily activity with existing products only designed for short commutes put a dent in their health. An individual's carbon footprint is an average of 6.98 kg on one working day. This industry is responsible, by far, for more carbon emissions than all sectors combined, because millions of people in India work as part of this gig economy. For this purpose, it is therefore concluded that the need to produce a sustainably manufactured product is justified. The anthropometric dimensions of the population shall be defined, and a person's model established, to determine an age range less than 26 years old. The model helps in the design of products like PBV, which is a purpose-built vehicle and carries bags etc. linked to this sector. Furthermore, since India does not have any age-based population data available, the collection of anthropometrics is also important.

Abstract: In this project, we are developing a highly efficient and effective screw conveyor packaging machine aimed at revolutionizing the way farmers pack their harvested paddy. The objective is to streamline the packaging process, saving valuable time and effort for farmers while ensuring optimal grain preservation and handling.During the paddy field harvesting period, it is common practice to store the collected grain at a designated spot within the field. Our innovative solution involves placing the screw conveyor packaging machine precisely at this location. This strategic placement eliminates the need for manual transportation of the harvested paddy, enhancing convenience and reducing labor-intensive tasks.When packaging is required, the operator simply activates the machine and positions the inlet towards the collected grain. The machine's intelligent design incorporates a screw conveyor mechanism that automatically pulls the harvested grain from the storage area towards the outlet of the packaging machine. This process significantly reduces manual intervention and expedites the packaging operation.To accommodate varying packaging needs, our machine offers flexibility in choosing the bag size. Farmers can opt for packaging bags weighing either 20 kg or 50 kg, depending on their specific requirements. This adaptability allows for greater versatility and caters to a wide range of market demands.The rotational movement of the screw conveyor is the driving force behind the grain's movement towards the outlet. We have incorporated a powerful motor to provide the necessary rotational power, ensuring smooth and consistent operation of the machine. This motor, combined with the precisely engineered screw conveyor system, guarantees efficient grain transfer without compromising the quality or integrity of the harvested paddy.Our screw conveyor packaging machine is set to revolutionize the way farmers pack their harvested paddy. By eliminating manual grain transportation and optimizing the packaging process, we aim to improve overall efficiency, reduce labor costs, and enhance grain preservation. This innovative solution is poised to significantly benefit farmers, offering them a streamlined and reliable packaging solution for their valuable produce.
