  • Modernized Art for a Smarter Environment

      Abstract: Gesture recognition is a technology that uses the mathematical algorithms to identify human gestures. Gesture recognition recognizes the hand, tracks its movements, and provides information about hand position, orientation, and finger flux. This research work describes a sophisticated and user-friendly Human Computer Interaction (HCI) technology that employs the Raspberry Pi to easily translate user intentions into corresponding commands and output. The proposed system overcomes the disadvantages present in the existing systems such as hardware complexity, dependence on external object and limitation in recognition of the movements. It is a gestural interface that connects the physical world to digital information around us and employs an Open CV-based gesture and colour recognition algorithm. This recognizes the hand, tracks its movements, and provides information about it. Color markers are applied to the user’s fingertips. This assists the camera in identifying the hand movement. The signals generated from hand movements are fed into ARM for processing using Python C coding. The processed signals are fed into the monitor to be displayed. Techniques used for processing are Video processing technology, Background Removal, Segmentation, Erosion, and Dilation. By tracking the user’s fingertip movements, the drawing application allows the user to draw on any surface. The pictures that the user draws can be displayed on any other surface. The proposed system overcomes the disadvantages present in the existing systems.

  • Machine Learning Based Smart Aquaponics Farming System

      Abstract: For many years, researchers have been studying nutrient management in aquaponic systems. Most have concentrated on adequate nutrition control in an aquaponic setup, but there has been relatively little study on commercial scale applications. For plant growth, it is necessary to measure the level of nutrients present in the soil mixture. In our model, the input data was sourced on some interval of time basis from three commercial aquaponic farms. To rank the features in order of relevance, and feature selection, approaches such as the XGBoost classifier and Recursive Feature Elimination with ExtraTreesClassifier were utilised. Based on the plants and fish, ammonium and nitrates were discovered to be the top two nutrient predictors. The historical dataset's median nutrient levels served as the appropriate concentrations to be maintained in the aquaponic solution in which Ashwagandha was growing. Vernier sensors were utilised to measure nutrient values, and actuator systems were created to discharge the necessary nutrient into the ecosystem through a closed loop. A digital system is created which gives information about the fertiliser(s) required for their crops and the data sensed by the sensors is stored in the cloud and analysed, based on which, suggestions for the growth of the suitable crop are made.

  • Drive Cycle Database Method for Performance of Vehicles Depending on
           Driver Behavior, Vehicle Type and Traffic Condition

      Abstract: Automobile manufacturers are looking for cheap ways to evaluate their products for specific customer needs as more demands are placed on their performance. The drive cycle is a crucial component of the vehicle development process. The driving cycle is used to understand the driving patterns of vehicles which also shows vehicle speed and road conditions by collecting data points along the way. A Global Positioning System (GPS)-based system was used to collect drive cycle data. For analysis of drive cycle data, we designed a powertrain simulation, the results of which can be used for various purposes. The most important output was precise battery consumption data. The simulation was performed on different possible conditions. We developed a method for measuring and analyzing realtime Indian road drive cycles which can be used on urban roads, state highways, national highways, and express highways, where vehicles have their most run. It is important to remember that each country has its own driving cycle because road conditions differ from one another.

  • Study and Analysis of Delay Faults of Embedded Processor using Dynamic
           Voltage Scaling Methods

      Abstract: Voltage over-scaling has been a possibility for energy dependability compromise. This research will look into its effectiveness and the potential for rationale deferral flaws. Our contextual investigation on an ARM Cortex-M0 processor with business 45 nm libraries shows that the quantity of defer deficiencies increments decisively after the principal bombing working point which infers that voltage overscaling will be wasteful after the basic working point. This recommends the need of the observing plans for following the basic working point. Distributed voltage scaling methods employ the methodology of distributing voltage to the circuits uniformly and when needed. Dynamic voltage scaling methods give voltage to the required portion and when needed that can be utilized or not. Hence dynamic changes happen automatically over the part of the region. Scaling the voltage in dynamical manner for the required circuits is performed and remaining can disconnect from their operations. Voltage overscaling can be performed over energy dependable circuits. Hence the deficiency in the energy distribution over the needed circuits can be rectified effectively. In this context, the clock period and energy from the clock to the circuit regions having delay faults are rectified using the proposed dynamic voltage scaling methods.

  • Accident Prevention Signal System on Hairpin Bend Road

      Abstract: In areas like Ghats and mountains where traveling conditions are not good and one of its reasons is hairpin bend roads, drivers have to take extra precautions while traveling through that type of roads and sometimes accidents may happen if the driver is not careful. In this study, we discussed how we can implement an accident prevention traffic control signal system on hairpin bend roads. We also mentioned what is hairpin bend road and why it is difficult and dangerous to travel through those types of roads, what are the IoT components and software used for making this system, and how the algorithms will work in the backend. We also added images of the prototype of the given system that we made, for a better understanding of the system.
