  • Internal Threats from CSPs and the Continuance Intention to Use Cloud

      Abstract: There is a growing concern among organizations using cloud computing about the alarming rate of internal attacks on private cloud-stored data such as unauthorized exposure, disclosure, and sale of customer’s confidential information by employees or associates of a cloud service provider (CSP). These unprofessional practices conducted accidentally or intentionally within the infrastructure of a service provider are internal threats. While studies have shown consistently that these unauthorized practices constitute an internal threat to data confidentiality and privacy, researchers are yet to empirically substantiate how these breaches by insiders of CSPs affect an organization’s continuance intention to use cloud computing. Furthermore, available studies on data security have not fully explored the perception of IT managers about how internal threats affect their strategy while making the decision to continue using cloud computing. Using a multinomial logistic regression, this study analyzed data collected from IT managers with cloud experience. Findings of this study indicated that internal threats such as unauthorized exposure, disclosure, and sale of customer’s data to third-party firms by employees of CSPs significantly influence the continuance intention to use cloud computing. This study benefits IT stakeholders by exploring the impacts of internal security lapses from the CSP on the decision of organizations to continue using cloud computing.

  • A New Topology to Improve Performance of SAPF Using ZVS

      Abstract: This paper presents new topology using soft switching to improve performance of shunt active power filter (SAPF). The proposed inverter can be used without employing Snubber capacitor under Zero voltage switching and high frequency conditions. To create ZVS conditions for the switches in this converter, an auxiliary circuit is used that includes two IGBT and LC resonant circuit. Soft switching causes the effective improvement of active filter performance and lowers stress voltage level effectively and the strokes of switch voltage as well as decrease of EMI emission reduction. In addition, the new topology will eliminate the problem of reverse recovery of diode of components body, and in addition, voltage stress on the PI controller, will greatly reduce used in power active filter. Today, with advances in power electronic technology and increasing use of power converters and other non-linear loads in the harmonics industry existing in the power system have largely increased that from the adverse effects of harmonics, the losses increase and incorrect performance of power lines equipment and interferential issues of waves can be named in telecommunication lines. Power active filters are used to eliminate harmonics of current and voltage. Numerous method of performance that use an active auxiliary circuit to help the main switch of a PWM modulated converter switch on with zero voltage switching have been proposed. These methods reduce switching losses in the main power switch, reduce reverse-recovery losses in the main power diode, and reduce EMI in the converter. Although closely all previously proposed auxiliary circuits include only a single active switch because of cost, but this paper used Two-switch auxiliary circuits for ZCS-PWM converters are usually used in high current applications..By the way to simulate this topology has been used of MATLAB and CADENCE softwares.

  • Evaluating Efficiency of Energy Hub on Residential Areas

      Abstract: Energy Hub is known as a new solution to reduce energy costs of the consumers using multiple energies. Therefore, this paper introduces a structure model of Energy Hub in residential areas where energy demands include electrical, heat and cold because of major changes of environmental temperature in different periods of the year. The mathematical models optimizing energy cost of Energy Hubs are presented with an objective function and constraints. Theof Energy Hub is valuated by comparing with a traditional energy supply structure. The calculation program is performed by General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). The efficiency and capability of the proposed model are illustrated by numerical results.
