  • Operational Planning and Constraints of Smart Grid Technology: Review

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: Anuj Kumar
Abstract: An intelligently connected technology known as a "smart grid" makes it possible to fully
automate and operate a centralized grid in real time. The integration of electrical vehicles,
storage devices, and renewable energy sources, as well as ancillary services, was all
supported by this self-healing grid. Advanced metering infrastructure, such as smart
substations, superconducting cables, intelligent integrated communication technologies,
etc., are added to this technology. This paper provides a thorough analysis of the smart
grid's design, attributes, and technological advancements. It also discusses the practical
need of creating this technology for the distributed power generation and Indian Power
      System Network.

  • Efficient Transmission Pricing using Power Flow Tracing

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Ishaan Dubey, Ankit Singh, sandeep bhongade
      Pages: 6 - 15
Abstract: The evolution of transmission pricing philosophies in deregulated power markets has introduced various techniques for efficient and accurate cost estimation of power exchanges. Earlier methods of postage stamp cost estimation failed to provide accurate cost signals. Point of Connection (POC) method is a technique through which a considerable sunk cost can be recovered but is still inefficient if applied alone. In addition to this, the POC method along with the marginal cost method does not provide an accurate price signal. To overcome the above lacunae, the POC tariff method is employed with the recent Power tracing framework, employed for Active power flow methodologies.

  • The Role of SCADA in Detecting Electric Faults in the Wind Turbine System:
           A Review

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: N. Amutha Priya, P. Ajitha, E. Evangalin, S. K. Marini, S. Thomas Athisaya
      Pages: 16 - 24
Abstract: A wind turbine is a machine which utilizes the kinetic energy of air to convert it into rotational energy. To generate the electricity, this rotational energy is transferred to the generator shaft. Whenever a fault occurs in the wind energy system, it decreases the system efficiency. During such abnormal conditions in a wind turbine system, the faults are detected through manual and/or automated system namely, SCADA. The control functions of SCADA are continuous monitoring of the devices, data collection, control & indication, alarm function, protection to devices in the wind farm. The paper discusses the inference over the works of various authors in utilizing SCADA as a base tool for electric fault detection in wind turbine system.

  • Fabrication and Experimental Analysis of Hybrid Energy Storage System for
           Electric Bicycle

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Ravikant K. Nanwatkar, Atul B. Ballal, Vaibhav D. Sonawane, Anushree V. Titre, Rohit G. Hage
      Pages: 25 - 43
Abstract: This paper's primary focus is on lightweight electric vehicles for daily needs and commuting over relatively short distances for day-to-day use. Here, the primary focus is on using solar energy as a non-conventional energy source to charge the electric bicycle, as opposed to investing time and resources in vehicles that run on petroleum gasoline. Utilising a lithium-ion battery and solar panel, the core concept aims to convert an old bicycle into an electric vehicle. A solar-powered electric bicycle is what the current work's design, construction, and experimental analysis are all about. The solar e-bike efficiently and sustainably combines transportation with renewable energy. Choosing the components, choosing the components for the e-bike, and optimising the mechanical structure are all steps in the development process. Construction of the frame, wheels, brakes, and driving system is combined with the installation of the motor, battery, and controller. Under various weather and road conditions, the solar e-bike's performance in terms of range, speed, power output, and efficiency is tested as part of the experimental analysis. The trials' findings will offer information about the viability and efficiency of using solar energy for mobility, and they can be utilised to enhance the design of upcoming solar e-bikes.

  • Different Ways to Maximize Electric Vehicle’s Battery Life

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Rupesh Chandrakant Kharat, Krishna T Madrewar
      Pages: 44 - 49
Abstract: This study examines alternative strategies for extending the battery life of electric vehicles (EVs). Enhancing the performance and endurance of batteries has been a crucial research area due to the rise in popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) in recent years and the growing concern about environmental issues. The significance of battery management systems (BMS), which can optimise charging and discharging cycles, and the effect of driving style on battery life are covered in this study. We examine how temperature affects battery performance and offers solutions to lessen its detrimental impacts. We also assess the possibilities of battery upgrade and swapping methods as a means of extending battery life. To prolong battery life, it is crucial to educate EV owners on proper charging practises. We discover that a combination of these techniques can considerably extend battery life, making EVs a more practical and sustainable form of transportation, through thorough research and experimentation.

  • A Brief Review on Photovoltaic Module

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Pushpendra Pandey, Kunal ., Rachit Srivastava
      Pages: 44 - 51
Abstract: The Sun's energy generated by Sunlight is a free and environmentally beneficial renewable energy source that doesn't get exhausted. The amount of solar energy that enters the earth every hour is sufficient to supply all of the energy needed for a year. In the modern period, we required electricity constantly. The usage of solar energy is intended for domestic, commercial, and industrial settings. Energy can be easily extracted from direct sunlight. It is therefore extremely efficient and does not harm the environment. In this essay, we examined solar energy, which is created from sunshine, and discussed its potential and recent developments. Additionally, the article tries to explain the various solar panel types, their uses, and marketing tactics for promoting solar energy's benefits.
