           THE CREATION OF CHILE IN NOGADA

      Abstract: Gastronomic tourism represents an interest for all tourism managers, intermediaries, producers and visitors. This is reflected in visitor spending linked to consumption and also in the motivation to experience authentic products, local recipes or events and museums focused on culinary identity. In 2010, traditional Mexican cuisine was declared by UNESCO, a cultural heritage of humanity. Puebla is the only place in Mexico where the dishes have a date of birth, linked to historical events that identify them. In addition to this, it has an imortant gastronomic variety that makes it attractive for tourists when planning a trip, so that typical food becomes a reference in this destination. 2021 marked the 200th anniversary of chiles en nogada, an emblematic dish which combines pre-Hispanic ingredients, spices from Asia and Africa. Likewise, it generates tourist movements within the city, as it is in the month of August. The objective was to analyze the actions that have favored its impulse, transmission and continuity. A qualitative documentary investigation was carried out with secondary sources. It is concluded that this dish reflects history, tradition, culture and identity. The importance of Mexican cuisine lies in its large number of unique and highly attractive products. Currently, it has its own route with which it is intended to promote internal tourism

  • THE ROUTE OF ISABEL LA CATÓLICA IN EXTREMADURA: EVALUATION AND
           DISCUSSION

      Abstract: The Route of Isabel la Católica in Extremadura, presented to the public in 2014, was a project of the Junta de Extremadura that, in two phases, presented to the general public the historical enclaves where the presence of the Catholic Monarchs had been relevant in Extremadura during the 15th century, for this, all the available historical, natural and gastronomic resources were compiled and a web page, an App, as well as more than 42 quality tourist experiences to enjoy in the Extremadura territory was created. In this paper, the project is carefully analysed and seven years after its creation, a balance is made of the effort made by the administrations and companies involved in said project, as well as the response given by tourism.

  • THE CULTURAL SPACES IN THE PANDEMIC. THE VIRTUALITY, THE RITES AND THE

      Abstract: The social distancing in the current health emergency has caused a disruptive effect on cultural spaces in all its ambits. The public policies issued by national government implemented the closure of cultural spaces, thereby interrupting the neighbourhood festivities, pilgrimages, religious commemorations and cultural events. This has made it necessary to search for communication channels through virtual platforms. The proposed research focuses on the traditional residents appropriate to rites, customs and traditions of two of Mexico’s ten world heritage cities: Queretaro and Guanajuato. This research pretends to contrast the visibility of tourist exploitation (tourisification) versus the invisibility of intangible heritage.

  • ANALYSIS OF TOURIST ATTRACTIONS - A POST COVID 19 PERSPECTIVE

      Abstract: Tabasco, a state of the Mexican Republic with enormous natural and cultural wealth, which for decades stood out for its business tourism, this being the strongest activity in terms of tourism, -even though there is a large presence of the oil sector in the area -. In recent years, particularly alternative tourism has had a greater participation in this sector, which has led to the establishment of various strategies to promote it; Since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, in Tabasco as in almost the whole world, the tourism sector has been one of the most vulnerable, which forces us to identify some of the effects that have had the most impact on the sector, for Therefore, the objective in this work is to identify the conditions of the post-COVID-19 tourist attractions, in the Coconá Caves, the Botanical Garden of God and the Agua Blanca State Park in the municipalities of Teapa, Tacotalpa and Macuspana, which make up the route " Adventure in the Sierra” in the state of Tabasco, Mexico; For this, on-site visits were made to assess the current conditions, a semi-structured interview was applied. It is observed in the results that the places are kept in conditions to receive visitors, although the influx during the quarantine by COVID-19 decreased drastically, some of its services had to be closed and modifications made in the visit, processes so that with the safety and hygiene measures applied could prevent contagion among both employees and visitors. Gradually the number of visitors has been increasing, predominantly local tourists.

  • THE TEMPLAR TOWN TOMAR. STORIES, STONES AND STREETS

      Abstract: The town of Tomar, located in the centre of Portugal, is mainly known by the Convent of the military Order of the Temple, which was renamed Order of Christ after the extinction of the Templar’s Order. Actually, the convent is classified by the UNESCO as a World Heritage. Beside  the convent, there is more heritage to be found in the town, tangible and intangible, like the former synagogue, the São João Baptista church, and the Tabuleiros Festivity. The author proposes a guided visit through the town which does not only include the heritage buildings and their history, but also the building stones of the ancient and recent edifications, belonging or not to the town’s historical heritage, as well as pavements and coverings. By telling the geological history of the stones, their probable provenience, weathering and treatment, and showing their fossils and minerals, a natural aspect is added to the cultural one, amplifying the content and the interest of the visit, and complementing the existing offer of guided tours. Therefore, the proposed tour is a link between cultural and natural tourism. Such a kind of visit is new in the town of Tomar, so this work is an innovative one.

  • SOCIAL NETWORKS AS A COMMUNICATION TOOL IN FASHION- BRANDED HOTELS:
           BULGARI HOTELS & RESORTS AS A CASE STUDY

      Abstract: The opening of international fashion-branded hotels is an added tourist attraction for the area where they emerge. Not only social networks play a key role in the promotion and diffusion of these new spaces but also the influence of these platforms defines the communication strategies. Despite their importance, a gap has been detected in the literature regarding the management and planning of social networks by fashion-branded hotels and their influence on the consumer. The research analyses how these tools are implemented within the communication strategy of fashion-branded hotels. The present paper proposes the case study of Bulgari Hotels & Resorts hotels through a content analysis of the main social networks and a systematic literature review. The results reveal that Bulgari achieves a higher engagement rate per post per day on Facebook than on Instagram, although the number of interactions is higher on Instagram.

  • TOURISM AND NAUTICAL ACTIVITIES IN RIVER BEACHES

      Abstract: The importance of river beaches for the practice of nautical activities and nautical tourism are essential for the development and consolidation of a tourist product. Nautical tourism emerges as an important product to boost a territory, since the development of river  beaches will involve the creation of accesses, support structures such as bathrooms, parking lots, hotel and restaurant facilities, as well as the surveillance of river beaches. for security purposes.
      In this sense, this study aims to explore the current context of the offer of nautical activities on existing river beaches in the Middle Tagus (Portugal), integrated in the Zêzere river basin, in the central region of Portugal as a nautical tourist offer. The theoretical framework used to carry out this study is based on an exploratory approach and on comparative particular observations between the five river beaches analyzed.
      The results point to the importance of river beaches for the development of nautical activities and for a greater appreciation of nautical stations and wakeboard resorts as a sustainable management strategy for the territory. The study will contribute to a greater perception of the need for strategic planning as a competitive differential of river beaches oriented to the attractiveness and appreciation of the territory where the practice of nautical activity is possible to develop.

  • THE IMPACT OF DEPOPULATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IN A RURAL AREA:
           THE CASE OF RIBEIRA SACRA

      Abstract: Since the 1990 ́s, Galician rural areas have undergone a series of changes that have had a notable influence on the economic and demographic dynamics of these areas. A progressive incorporation of tourist activity into the resto f rural activities can be detected. We can even observe the prolifertaion of áreas where tourism has been proposed as the main substitute for agricultural activity, thus converting the service industry into the main axis of the local economu and also as a key agent capable of slowing down or reversing  the depopulation processes. This paper aims to analyse the possible impacts of tourism activity on the demographic dynamics of a well-known geodestination (Ribeira Sacra), through a series of interviews focused on the perspective of the rural tourism entrepreneur. The results obtained show a visible impact of depopulation on the local tourism model, which in turn may alter or condition the future tourism policies of the touristic area.

  • THE WAY OF THE HOLY GRAIL: A NEW DIDACTIC EXPERIENCE TO POSITION THIS
           DESTINATION WITH A CARBON FOOTPRINT OR EMISSIONS

      Abstract: The pandemic suffered in Spain declared on March 8, 2020 until the present month of February 2022 has shown that the only economic engine that has sustained tourist activity in all autonomous communities has been the internal consumption of the population itself. Traditionally, groups of pensioners and retirees have been proposed as the only catalysts for seasonal adjustment through the different programs of the Institute for the Elderly and Social Services - Imserso. This article makes a new revision to the concept of traveling from didactics and extrapolates it with the example of the Way of the Holy Grail. All this with the purpose of offering other alternatives in the management of aid destined to alleviate the low season in the different tourist destinations. In this, the Way of the Holy Grail is presented in accordance with the parameters of European demand, for the promotion of new tourist destinations: carbon footprint 0 emissions, sustainable destination, etc. The relationships between travel and learning are analyzed based on the experience of researchers who advocate developing both at the same time. The conclusions close this article that aims to show another way of teaching culture, history, gastronomy and art through the experience of the trip.

  • FLAMENCO AS A TOURIST RESOURCE IN THE MAIN CITIES

      Abstract: Tourism is an industry in constant evolution and change. In addition, the last twenty years have been a challenge in the management of sustainable tourism for residents, tourists and visitors. The aim of this research is to analyse the status of flamenco tourism as a segment of cultural tourism, since before the crisis in the tourism sector caused by the COVID-19, markets have to be restructured and seeking new options that aim to satisfy the needs of the  final consumer, in addition to seeking tourist alternatives more aligned with the SDGs of the United Nations. The strength of Flamenco makes it became the identification mark of Andalusia and Spain, which translates into an external demand and an influx of knowledgeable tourists from flamenco or curious about it. The method used is based on the application of the knowledge development process - constructivist (PROKNOW-C), providing a structured, rigorous and minimizes the use of randomness and subjectivity in the bibliographic review process. As results, 7 relevant articles are obtained and aligned with the subject of research, enabling identifying the main approaches proposed by the authors of this bibliographic portfolio in relation to the problem proposed. This research sees the guiding bases for future contributions to knowledge about a topic, showing a systematic guide in its construction, and also seeing an opportunity to rethink flamenco tourism as a focus of a sustainable tourism model.

      Abstract: The middle section of the Guadalquivir River represents a new protected area in Andalusia included in the Natura 2000 Network, after its declaration as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) in 2015. These strategies were based mainly on the enhancement of the cultural heritage. The present work aims to increase the visibility of the perspectives that ornithological tourism can achieve in this area, through a case study focused on the municipality of Peñaflor (Seville). A participatory and prospective methodology has been applied, associated with the design of sustainable development strategies in protected areas. The results fit with the condition of the municipality as a prominent enclave of this ecological corridor and its proposal as a habitat for an abundant birdlife. This also takes into account the recognition of an observed potential related to the deployment of various equipment for public use and the advancement of proposals for a strategy on local bird tourism. This strategy is approached from different approaches (scientific, educational, recreational and socioeconomic) complementary to the management plan of this area of the Natura 2000 Network.

  • WHO IS VISITING UNIVERSITIES' GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS ON THE DEMAND
           CHARACTERISTICS OF CAMPUS-BASED TOURISM

      Abstract: The identification of predominant characteristics of the demand and market segmentation in tourism are relevant tools for optimising the management of tourist attractions and promotional efforts. The benefits include the improvement and creation of products better suited to the specificities of demand and the development of more effective and adjusted marketing strategies. Campus-based tourism is a growing niche in cultural tourism. Some of the cultural attractions of most prestigious and/or ancient universities in Western Europe are attracting over one million visitors per year; and several university campuses in China are visited by an average of 4,000 individuals per day. Nonetheless, the knowledge about the characteristics and motivations of the public(s) visiting universities is still very scarce. Based on secondary data collection and analysis of previous global case studies, this research aimed to identify publics, key markets and common socio-demographic characteristics and motivations of universities’ visitors. The results show that cultural assets in universities are targeting and attracting different publics: educational-driven visitors (internal and external to the university), local community and cultural tourists (national and international). Universities are attracting mainly domestic tourists, who have high education qualifications and travel with family (mainly with children).

  • VALUE PERCEPTIONS OF ENVIRONMENTAL-CULTURAL SERVICES IN TACOTALPA, TABASCO

      Abstract: The article rescues the perceptions of tourists about the value they give to cultural environmental services, tourist resources and activities and the environmental impact in relation to the tourist area of Tacotalpa Tabasco, located in southeastern Mexico. Through a study that included the visit and tour of the study area, review in local libraries, digital repositories such as Science Direct, OpenDOAJ, visits to government institutions in the state of Tabasco, as well as the application of a questionnaire that contains 27 items applying it to 100 tourists. Among the results highlights the perception of the tourist about the natural landscapes 85% agreed that represents a high value, but that has mostly bee willing to pay and pays very little for their rides.

  • TOURIST-CULTURAL ROUTES IN THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID

      Abstract: n the Community of Madrid, after the end of the state of alarm caused by the SARS- CoV-2 virus—on June 21, 2020, also known as the start of the "new normal"—, cultural tourism has become an alternative to other predominant tourist modalities in the capital, such as MICE tourism (Meeting, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibitions). This fact has led to a tourism of proximity with a greater interest in local heritage that has enhanced existing tourism products and generated new ones by official institutions. In this paper, we analyze cultural tourism. More specifically, we analyze the cultural routes promoted on the official web pages of the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council. The aim is to evaluate the type or types, design, structure and contents, programming, and divulgation of these types of routes. The results show a wide diversity of cultural routes in the Community and the town of Madrid, but with certain shortcomings and deficiencies in terms of structure and content, typological classification, and presentation on official websites. For all these reasons, some proposals are made to improve and reinforce training in heritage interpretation and didactics for tourism professionals.

      Abstract: A phenomenon that has been growing in recent years is travel blogs, which have been revolutionizing the tourism sector. Although COVID 19 has caused profound changes in the lives of the population worldwide, confining people, limiting their movement and travel, devastating the tourism sector, this phenomenon has gained greater prominence in society and in the habits of tourists. Travel affects our ideas, takes us to other cultures, other smells, other flavours and is a way of spending money, which enriches us, magnifies us, and improves us as citizens of the world. Travel blogs are a means of stimulating the tourism sector, even if that purpose was not at their origin. By reporting experiences and places visited, bloggers can play an important role in reactivating the sector, stimulating the digital transition, which is today an unavoidable reality, taking advantage of its potential to promote a new era and influencing decision-making of tourists. This study aims to analyse the main Portuguese travel blogs and try to measure the stimulus produced by their reports, namely in this pandemic period when they helped to discover our country, encouraging the discovery of our lands, our traditions. A qualitative and quantitative investigation will be carried out and data collection will be based on document analysis and interview survey carried out using digital means. The present study allowed us to see the growing relevance and dynamics that bloggers have gained in recent years is visible, what can serve as leverage for a sector that has suffered a lot from the effects of the pandemic, influencing the choice of tourists for a certain destination based on the transmitted posts.

  • BIG TV BLOCKBUSTERS AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF HERITAGE AS A TOURIST
           ATTRACTION: THE CASE OF THE GAME OF THRONES TAPESTRY AT THE ULSTER MUSEUM
           (BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND)

      Abstract: The influence of film or television shootings on the tourist interest of certain destinations has taken on an unusual force lately. Regarding the HBO’s blockbuster Game of Thrones, shot in different international destinations, it should be noted that its presence in Northern Ireland has been much more than important. Possibly, a lot more than anywhere else the series has been shot. The Ulster government signed an agreement with the production company through which it could use everything related to the series as an instrument for promoting tourism in its territory, which has greatly benefited both parties. In this regard, Tourism Ireland wanted to commemorate the contribution of the series to its territory with the commission of a big hand- woven tapestry, created together with the company HBO and coordinated by the Ulster Museum, in Belfast (where it is currently shown). This tapestry shows the full story of the epic television drama, from the first to the eighth season. In this communication, we will analyse the creation of this art piece as an instrument for the current “construction” of heritage linked to an international blockbuster, with a tourist purpose and which has ended up becoming one of the greatest attractions of the Ulster Museum.

      Abstract: Studies on the social perception of tourism are extremely diverse and often with contradictory results and conclusions. Considering the Spanish destinations on which there are publications in this regard (destinations located in Andalusia, the Canary Islands,the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Valencian Community), we have selected a qualitative sample that represents them, looking for similarities and differences in their theoretical approaches. To this end, various aspects of residents' opinions regarding the positive and negative impacts of tourism are assessed. Not with the aim of obtaining a universal model, since we not only consider it unfeasible, but also it would not be desirable to arbitrarily standardize so much diversity and complexity, but with the aim of making a theoretical-methodological contribution that, although not exhaustive, can be useful in this field of study for both researchers and tourism managers.

      Abstract: To understand through a case study, how citizenship positions the bicycle in public space, legitimizing its use as a means of transportation and as a collective expression that promotes a culture of possible shared spaces for different sectors of society. The bet for sharing space between cars and bicycles provides improvements to the urban scenario, transcending connectivity and social communion. The social bicycle collectives in the city of Bogotá, D.C. configure the territory into an attractive scenario to know from the social, political and economic dynamics that are co- created in the bicycle encounter and the way of traveling through the city. The relationships between mobility and transport are conditioned, among other aspects, by the management of: distance, speed, infrastructure, traffic, pollution, the urban and its functions. Mobility and transportation are the result of social forms and relations, of how space is occupied, of the movement patterns and energy consumption related to each time and place. In this context, this article refers precisely to the challenges of its idealization associated with mobility, reconfiguring the spatial and spatial, the opportunity to build and / or co-create territories, connections, the political and public space, the management of urban mobility networks, the need for ethical transformations that highlight the existing conflict between mobility - transport - speed, and with the main actors, and most vulnerable: the human being and his relationship with society.

  • THE STAGING OF TOURISM ACTIVITY IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19

      Abstract: Tourism activity faced, like the rest of the sectors, the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a closure of borders and a cessation of physical displacement and human interactions to which we were all accustomed, this new reality caused a crisis in tourism activity, it was necessary to rethink new forms of travel in the midst of an uncertain panorama, in which health security reigned and the search for answers regarding the total control, or at least reduction of infections by the virus. Now, a recovery in tourism activity is observed, an increase in domestic displacements is optimistically expected that can reactivate the recreational activities to which travellers were accustomed. The objective of this paper is to present a current view of travel trends globally and the specifically for Mexican Tourism, for which the provisions of international bodies involved in measuring tourist inflows have been reviewed in detail, such as de World Tourism Organization, and the tourism satellite accounts, in addition to various bodies that at the national level are constantly working to observe the different panoramas, specifically on the current situation of domestic and international travel trends. The results allow us to observe the opportunities of markets, travel trends, routes that have gained ground, the new market niches that opt for other destinations or tourist offers. Hence, some opportunities are presented that highlight the goodnesses of Mexican tourism and the possibilities of competing with notoriety in this new stage of tourist recovery.

  • IRON RAILINGS FROM URBAN ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE IN THE HISTORIC CENTRE OF
           LAGOS

      Abstract: Historic centres have considerable heritage resources that honour the legacy and knowledge generated by humanity in the past, and it is fundamental to preserve and transmit them to future generations, as required by cultural sustainability. In the final of the 19th century, in the construction of buildings, there was an intense use of innovative materials and techniques at the decorative level, in which the use of cast and wrought iron artwork stood out, such as the visible window grilles and balconies on the façades. These metallic elements participate in the composition of the buildings, enhancing the urban landscape. The perception of the importance of these decorative elements in the architectural language of the building’s perception, located in the historical centre of Lagos, Portugal, led to an inventory of the iron elements on the façade of buildings, finding that they have specific characteristics in terms of shape or design, material and symbolic representation. These architectural elements are adapted to artistic movements and to distinct periods. This study presents the spatial distribution of buildings with cast and wrought iron window grilles and balconies and develops proposals of urban cultural routes allusive to the Romantic period of the final 19th century and to the Art Nouveau of the beginning of the 20th century. The results indicate that the decorative iron elements have great expression, giving aesthetic valour to the urban landscape. This architectural heritage adds value to the city´s memory and can enhance the attractiveness of the historic centre through outdoor cultural routes, which can be differentiating in a pandemic context.

      Abstract: The valuation of heritage in the urban imaginary is conditioned by the socio-economic, production and consumption contexts of each historical stage. Currently, the incorporation of digital technologies and the internet has generated a change in the economy and society. Through the perception and generation of a mental image of reality (in situ) or from the digital (mobile devices), an imaginary is built, which can govern behaviors and the use of space. The graphic image of heritage can be used for many purposes, mostly promotion, which can often generate thoughts and/or behaviors different from the initial intentions or a specific benefit, or depending on the perspective from which it is observed, it can increase the feelings of rootedness and affect their reading and their evaluation. Under this reference, the need arises to understand the representation of heritage in digital tourism disclosure. Therefore, this communication presents the state of the art on this phenomenon and a methodological approach to weigh the imaginaries that, together with other processes of the territories, can affect the concepts of the managers or inhabitants in the mode to intervene or live the cultural heritage.

However, due to the current pandemic phase, this situation has suffered a setback, changing the behaviour and habits of the population in general. More than ever, sustainability assumes a central role in tourism development, and it is essential to combine the economic and cultural aspects and consequently combine them with environmental and social sustainability. This article therefore proposes a reflection on the economic impact on tourism resulting from the current pandemic and the consequent environmental and social impact, as well as the analysis of the measures adopted or to be adopted in the near future, some linked to information and communication technologies, in order to minimize the damage felt in the sector. The considerations presented in this article do not intend to close this theme, but rather to open space for new reflections and dynamics that can contribute to sustainability in its different aspects of tourism
