      Abstract: The present article has the objective of describing the teaching strategies applied in the undergraduate course “Safety and Health in Construction”, taught in the Civil Engineering Department in the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, integrating production, safety, and health, through the tools and techniques of the Last Planner System. The objectives and contents of the course are explained, as well as the principles, tools, techniques and practices of the Lean Construction philosophy that integrate and make synergy with the elaboration of Safety and Health Study, with the implementation of the Safety and Health Plan, and with the OHSAS 18001:2007. This article also describes the information obtained in the collaborative work developed by the students, in small groups, who applied everything taught in the course to a real case study in a building project. The success of this activity is reflected in the opportunities of betterment identified, in the quality of the student’s work and in the results of the survey taken by all the participants anonymously.ResumenEl presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir las estrategias de enseñanza de la asignatura de pregrado “Seguridad y Salud en la Construcción” dictado en el programa de Ingeniería Civil de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, integrando producción, seguridad y salud mediante las herramientas y técnicas del Last Planner System. Se explican los objetivos y contenidos de la asignatura, así como los principios, herramientas, técnicas y prácticas de la filosofía Lean Construcción que complementan y hacen sinergia con la elaboración del Estudio de Seguridad y Salud, con la implementación del Plan de Seguridad y Salud, y con la OHSAS 18001:2007. Este artículo describe también la información obtenida en los trabajos colaborativos que desarrollaron grupalmente los estudiantes, quienes aplicaron lo aprendido en la asignatura a un caso de estudio real de un proyecto de edificación. El éxito de esta actividad de formación se refleja en las oportunidades de mejora identificadas, en la calidad de los trabajos presentados y en los resultados de la encuesta de opinión tomada a los participantes de forma anónima.

      Abstract: ResumenPara que los alumnos/as de las asignaturas de construcción en la carrera de Edificación entiendan los conceptos, los profesores necesitan enseñar soluciones reales, ya que la construcción es un proceso complejo y es difícil de comprender a través de dibujos, fotos, etc. La visita a los distintos lugares es y ha sido hasta ahora la única manera de mostrar lo que se está explicando pero esto resulta complicado por las diferentes localizaciones de los mismos. Una vez detectada esta dificultad se pensó en la posibilidad de centralizar los casos que se trataban en las asignaturas, dotarlos de una información extra a través de la realidad aumentada y de esta forma mostrárselo al alumnado, para ello la mejor opción era localizarlos en un área próxima a la escuela y conformando un recorrido.
      El objetivo de esta investigación ha sido conocer la utilidad que esta nueva herramienta multimedia ha tenido en el desarrollo de la asignatura y si ha proporcionado un mejor aprendizaje en cuanto a la compresión de los nuevos conceptos, a un acercamiento más amigable a los conceptos o a una consolidación de manera más óptima lo aprendido. Para ello una vez elaborada la herramienta y utilizada en dos grupos de estudiantes se realizó una encuesta entre ellos.
      En este trabajo se pretende mostrar no sólo la herramienta móvil realizada si no también los resultados de la encuesta y el análisis de los mismos. In order to understand the concepts of building construction subjects, teachers need to teach real solutions, that is because construction is a complex process and it is difficult to understand it through drawings, photos, etc. The visit to the different places is, and has been for a long time, the only way to show what is being explained, but this is complicated because the examples are in different locations. Once this handicap was detected, we have focused on the possibility of centralizing the cases that were treated in the subjects and to provide them an extra information through “augmented reality”, and in this way show it to students. For that, the best option was to locate the examples in an area next to the school and following a route.
      The objective of this research has been to know the usefulness that this new multimedia tool has had in the development of the subject, if it has provided a better learning in terms of understanding the new concepts, a friendly approach to concepts or optimal consolidation from topics that have been learned. To know the result, once the tool was developed and used in two groups of students, a survey was conducted among them. This paper aims to show not only the mobile tool performed but also the results of the survey and the analysis of them.

      Abstract: ResumenEl objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la influencia de los diferentes factores que afectan a la evaluación de las asignaturas técnicas y su influencia sobre el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Para ello se han analizado los resultados obtenidos en la evaluación de la asignatura “Resistencia de Materiales y Elasticidad”, materia obligatoria de 6 créditos ECT, tipo I impartida en el cuarto semestre del grado de Edificación de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
      Como respuesta al objetivo planteado, cabe destacar que la percepción de la asignatura por parte de los alumnos y el sistema de evaluación son factores determinantes en la motivación del alumno, puesto que obtienen mejores calificaciones los estudiantes que tienen una visión más favorable de la asignatura. Por otro lado, el tipo de evaluación realizado tiene una influencia decisiva sobre las calificaciones obtenidas y sobre la manera de afrontar el aprendizaje, siendo la evaluación continua la mejor forma de impulsar el trabajo de los estudiantes y la que más fácilmente les permite adquirir las competencias. The objective of this paper is to analyze the influence of the different factors affecting the evaluation gives technical subjects and their influence on student learning. For this purpose, we have analyzed the results obtained in the evaluation of the subject "Resistance of Materials and elasticity", a compulsory subject of 6 credits ECT, type I provided in the fourth semester of grade of Building of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
      In response to the stated objective, it should be noted that the perception of the subject and its evaluation system are determining factors in the student's motivation, since students who have a more favorable vision of the subject obtain better grades. On the other hand, the type of evaluation carried out has a decisive influence on the qualifications obtained and on the way of facing the learning, being the continuous assessment the best way to promote the work of the students and the one that more easily allows them to acquire the competences.

      Abstract: ResumenUna “evaluación sostenible” abarca el conocimiento, las habilidades y predisposiciones requeridas para apoyar el aprendizaje durante toda la vida. En este contexto, la revisión por pares se propone como un importante mecanismo en el proceso calificador, que fue aplicado como una experiencia de innovación docente entre universidades, en un contexto multidisciplinar, como instrumento para el aprendizaje en las titulaciones de Graduado en Arquitectura Técnica y Edificación.
      Más allá del desarrollo de las destrezas exigidas a los titulados en estas disciplinas, como son, la práctica en el análisis de trabajos elaborados por un tercero, así como la responsabilidad en la toma de decisiones, otro de los objetivos perseguidos fue facilitar el proceso de corrección y evaluación en grupos numerosos.
      Los resultados de esta experiencia han verificado la viabilidad de esta técnica en el aprendizaje del alumnado.
      La capacidad crítica y la autocrítica han sido conseguidas por los estudiantes de grado en arquitectura técnica y grado en edificación. Han sido capaces de valorar sus propias acciones e identificar elementos que deben mantener, reforzar o modificar. Todo han sido ventajas para tratar de mejorar los procesos en estas técnicas, a pesar de aumentar el trabajo del docente en el proceso evaluador. “Sustainable evaluation” will be the assessment that considers the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to support lifelong learning. In this context, the peers assessment is proposed as an essential mechanism in the evaluation. That was the experience of innovation teaching carried out between universities in a multidisciplinary context, based on the application of peer assessment as a tool for learning of the graduate in Architecture and Building.
      Beyond the development of the skills required for graduates in these disciplines, such as the practice in the analysis of work done by another people, as well as the responsibility in decision making, another of the objectives pursued was to facilitate the process of correction and evaluation in large groups.
      The results of this experience have verified the viability of this technique in student learning. The students of the Degrees in Technical Architecture and Building have achieved the critical and the self-critical ability. They have been able to value their own actions and to identify elements that they should maintain, reinforce or modify. All have been advantages to try to improve these processes in these evaluation techniques, while increasing the work of the teacher in the evaluation process.

      Abstract: ResumenEn este artículo se describe la estrategia seguida para generar e impulsar procesos de aprendizaje, participación e indagación en el ámbito de las Instalaciones. Se aplica a las asignaturas de Instalaciones I y II del Grado de Edificación impartido en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Edificación de Madrid, con el fin de contribuir a la mejora del aprendizaje en niveles superiores de educación.
      La investigación desarrolla la creación y el estudio del método a seguir, con el análisis de cada una de las partes que lo forman. Este método se basa en un Aprendizaje por Descubrimiento Significativo realizado en cuatro fases: el Descubrimiento, la Investigación, la Visualización y la Ejecución.
      Se dan a conocer posteriormente los resultados obtenidos hasta la fecha con la metodología desarrollada para, de esta manera, poder desvelar el desarrollo interno de la propia estrategia dando cuenta de los resultados derivados de ella. This article describes the strategy followed to generate and promote processes of learning, participation and inquiry in the field of Facilities. It is applied to the subjects of Installations I and II of the Degree of School of Building Engineering imparted in the Superior Technical School of Building of Madrid, in order to contribute to the improvement of learning in higher levels of education.
      The research develops the creation and study of the method to be followed, with the analysis of each of the parts that form it. This method is based on a Significant Discovery Learning realized in four phases: the Discovery, the Investigation, the Visualization and the Execution.
      The results obtained to date with the methodology developed to reveal the internal development of the strategy itself, giving an account of the results derived from it, are presented later.

      Abstract: ResumenUna de las maneras más útiles favorecer el aprendizaje se produce cuando se realiza visualmente y, más aún, de forma práctica. En asignaturas de ámbito geológico son especialmente importantes las salidas al campo para la comprensión de la materia. Sin embargo, dadas las limitaciones presupuestarias de los centros y temporales de los programas de las asignaturas, el número de prácticas de campo no son las que serían deseables. Para paliar estas circunstancias, se decidió acercar el Medio Geológico al alumno a través de las nuevas tecnologías. Para ello en diversas asignaturas de la E.T.S.I. Minas y Energía de Madrid se desarrollaron diversas técnicas de enseñanza y aprendizaje individuales y grupales empleando imágenes geológicas. Así, en este trabajo se presentan los cambios en la metodología de enseñanza con el objeto de mejorar el aprendizaje basado en el trabajo práctico personal del alumno. Para ello se elaboró, entre otras cosas, una amplia base de imágenes geológicas catalogadas por temática para utilizar tanto en las clases presenciales (teóricas y prácticas) y en cuestionarios de evaluación en la plataforma moodle. En las clases se introdujeron diversas técnicas de enseñanza para trabajar sobre las imágenes. En este caso, el alumno tenía que explicar al resto de componentes la estructura geológica que aparecía en diapositiva, estando sometido a sus preguntas y a posibles correcciones. Asimismo, los alumnos realizaron vídeos en los que explican los aspectos geológicos. De esta manera se pretendía que el alumno adquiriera conocimientos geológicos y el hábito de expresarse en público con un lenguaje técnico. Se ha observado una mayor motivación y adquisición de conocimientos geológicos por parte del alumnado. Todo ello ha llevado aparejado una mejora en las calificaciones en las asignaturas en las que se ha aplicado, reduciéndose el número de suspensos de forma significativa y aumentando las calificaciones más altas. One of the most useful ways to promote learning occurs when it is done visually and, even more, in a practical way.Learning Geology requires, in addition to the conceptual and theoretical knowledge, a skill that is primarily achieved with practice in nature to understand forms and structures. Therefore, the teaching of geology and associated disciplines, requires carrying out internships in field. However, given the budget and temporal limitations of the programs, we consider that the number of field practices is not what would be desirable. This paper deals with the new teaching and learning approaches through the use of new technologies (ITC). The main objective is to bring the geological aspects of Nature to students using ITC. For this purpose, we developed several individual and group teaching and learning techniques using geological images in various subjects of the E.T.S.I. Minas y Energía de Madrid. Thus, this paper presents the changes in the teaching methodology in order to improve learning based on the student's personal practical work. To this end, a wide collection of geological images cataloged by theme was developed, in order to be used both in classes (theoretical and practical) but, mainly in evaluation questionnaires developed in “moodle”. We introduced teaching techniques to work on images. In this case, the student had to explain to others the geological structure that appeared on the slide, being subjected to their questions and possible corrections. Likewise, the students recorded videos in the field in which they explained geological concepts at various scales. In this way it was intended that the student acquire geological knowledge and the habit of expressing with a technical language. These new approaches have produced an increase in motivation and acquisition of geological knowledge of students, being reflected in the polls and accompanied by an improvement in grades.

      Abstract: ResumenEn el año 2014, A nivel europeo, la Directiva 2014/24/UE sobre contratación pública establece la necesidad de emplear sistemas electrónicos (medios de comunicación y herramientas para modelar los datos del edificio) en procesos de contratación de obras, servicios y suministros. En España el Ministerio de Fomento, quien a través de su comisión BIM, ha establecido que a partir de diciembre de 2018 los edificios públicos y julio de 2019 las infraestructuras de titularidad pública, se proyecten conforme a la metodología BIM. Con este planeamiento y calendario resultaba imprescindible dar respuesta desde la Universidad implementando nuevas disciplinas, o adaptando las existentes, que dieran como resultado la adquisición de habilidades y competencias necesarias para la correcta formación de los futuros profesionales, tal y como se demanda en diferentes universidades europeas. Por este motivo, ese mismo año, desde el departamento de Tecnología de Edificación de la ETS de Edificación, ante la dificultad para modificar el plan de estudios, de adaptar de forma inmediata disciplinas ya existentes y/o establecer una rigurosa y comprometida formación de docentes, a nivel casi individual de los profesores firmantes de la presente, se propone una nueva asignatura optativa que permitiera a los alumnos interesados iniciarse en la metodología de trabajo BIM. Una vez puesta en marcha la asignatura y como única reglada en el ámbito, nuestro objetivo está claro. El estudio sobre su implantación en el alumnado y su grado de satisfacción; el cumplimiento de la finalidad para la que fue creada, así como contemplar las diferentes propuestas de los propios alumnos al respecto de su intensificación docente. Los resultados obtenidos son altamente satisfactorios y anuncian una muy alta necesidad demandada por los propios alumnos al respecto de intensificar e incorporar la docencia BIM como herramienta esencial para sus estudios y posterior desarrollo profesional. Directive 2014/24 / EU on public procurement establishes in 2014 at European level the need to use electronic systems (means of communication and tools to model building data) in contracting procedures of building works, services and supplies. In Spain, the Ministry of Development has established through its BIM commission, that as of December 2018 and July 2019, both public buildings and infrastructures under public ownership respectively, are projected in accordance with the BIM methodology. Under this schedule it was essential for the Spanish University to respond by implementing new disciplines, or adapting the existing ones, to achieve skills and competencies for the proper training of future professionals, as it is demanded in other European universities. For this reason, the Department of Building Technology of the ETS Edificación (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), faced the difficulties of adapting existing disciplines and established a rigorous teacher training method, at an almost individual level. It was proposed a new optional subject that would allow interested students to get started on the BIM work methodology. This experience has been the only formal training established in the School of Building in the field of BIM. Once implemented, our first objective is clear: To study its level of implementation and to gauge the level of satisfaction among the students. In other words: To discuss the fulfillment of the purpose for which it was created, as well as to study different proposals regarding teaching intensification made by the students themselves. The results obtained are highly satisfactory and announce a very high demand by the students in order to intensify and incorporate BIM teaching as an essential tool for their studies and their professional development.
