Authors:Devaradura Somindra Kalana Mendis, Hemali Uditha Wijewardane Ratnayake, Asoka Somabandu Karunananda, Samaratunga Wedage Udaya Samaratunga Pages: 95 - 119 Abstract: This research is focused on investigating principal components analysis (PCA) for defuzzification which estimates singleton fuzzy values in a subjective way for Sugeno defuzzification method. This work goes beyond the approach of Sugeno defuzzification method to defuzzification where singleton fuzzy values are considered to be objective. The new artificial intelligence methodology is proposed for improving Sugeno defuzzification method by directly integrating it with a principal component analyser, a fuzzy inference engine, a knowledge base, and a user interface. For the chosen datasets, the artificial intelligence methodology improved accuracy by considering the difference between the predicted value and actual value. The improvements were up to 98%, 98%, 71%, and 95% for the Card Payment, non-communicable disease, communicable disease and Manas Prakriti respectively, while Sugeno defuzzification method shows significantly low accuracy by considering the difference between predicted value and actual value. Authors:Devaradura Somindra Kalana Mendis, Hemali Uditha Wijewardane Ratnayake, Asoka Somabandu Karunananda, Samaratunga Wedage Udaya Samaratunga Pages: 120 - 144 Abstract: This paper presents a comparative analysis on the appropriateness of fuzzy weighted average (FWA) based on left and right scores, classical fuzzy TOPSIS and fuzzy TOPSIS based on left and right scores (FTOPSIS-LR) for deciding on optimal conceptual design. A set of alternative design concept of pipe bending machine were considered as case study. The three methods indicate the same design concept as the optimal design. However, results show that there are discrepancies in the final values. This discrepancy can be accrued to the fact that normalisation of weights allotted to the design features plays a significant role in obtaining a consistent variation in the final values of the design concepts. The effect of normalised weights occurred in the FWA method than the FTOPSIS-LR because there is a consistent variation in the final values using the FWA method compared to the large variation in the final values of the FTOPSIS-LR. Authors:Devaradura Somindra Kalana Mendis, Hemali Uditha Wijewardane Ratnayake, Asoka Somabandu Karunananda, Samaratunga Wedage Udaya Samaratunga Pages: 145 - 155 Abstract: In this paper, the author introduce the category IFTOP of IF-topological spaces, to generalise the category of intuitionistic fuzzy spaces in the sense of Coker. Then, IF-subspaces, IF-continuous mappings and IF-quotient spaces are studied. Functors between the category IFTOP and the category FTOP of I-fuzzy topological spaces are defined. Finally, the author showed that the category FTOP is isomorphic to a subcategory 0-IFTOP of the category IFTOP. Authors:Tuhin Bera, Nirmal Kumar Mahapatra Pages: 156 - 186 Abstract: A soft linear space with a neutrosophic norm defined on it is called a neutrosophic soft normed linear space (NSNLS). The notions of compact soft set, continuity and uniform continuity of neutrosophic soft function defined in NSNLS are introduced in this study. These are explained by suitable examples. In continuation, the convergence and uniform convergence of a sequence of neutrosophic soft functions over NSNLS are defined along with proper examples. All these concepts are extended by developing some basic theorems. Authors:Anupam Kumar, Abdul Hamid Bhat, Pramod Agarwal Pages: 187 - 209 Abstract: Bidirectional energy transfer capability with high efficiency is fast becoming the central part of a lot of power conversion systems in DC microgrid. Preferably, under the economics constraint, a dual active bridge (DAB) converter having two DC-AC converters connected back to back through an AC inductor/transformer is a common converter used for obtaining high efficiency bidirectional power conversion. In this paper, performance of DAB converter with single phase shift (SPS) is evaluated with two batteries on both sides of DC bus. Reduced rule based fuzzy logic controller is used for closed loop control of DAB converter. The control logic enables the bidirectional energy transfer within the batteries at lower duty ratios. Charging and discharging of batteries is supervised by the fuzzy logic controller. Optimum operating range for converter is obtained by exhaustive simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and SimPowerSystem software and proper duty ratio for converter operation is obtained.
