  • Populasi Monyet Ekor Panjang (Macaca fascicularis) di TWA Grojogan Sewu,
           Tawangmangu, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah

      Abstract: Long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) in TWA Grojogan Sewu, Karanganyar, Central Java, apart from being an attraction, also cause problems in the form of disturbance to visitors and traders in the tourist area. In order to control the long-tailed monkey population in this conservation area, it is necessary to carry out a survey aimed at calculating the population of these animals in and around the Grojogan Sewu TWA area, using the concentration count method. The survey results showed that the population of long-tailed monkeys in TWA Grojogan Sewu was 128 individuals, consisting of 4 groups with the number of individuals per group ranging from 17 to 44 individuals.

      Abstract: ProKlim merupakan program pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis sumber daya setempat dan berkelanjutan. Program ini dilaksanakan masyarakat bersama institusinya melalui pengelolaan sumber daya manusia dan sumber daya alam di dalam maupun di luar wilayahnya untuk memperkuat upaya adaptasi dan mitigasi terhadap dampak perubahan iklim. Tim HIMA BIOLOGI FMIPA Universitas Negeri
      Semarang melalui Program Penguatan Kapasitas Ormawa melakukan kajian untuk mewujudkan Desa Ngesrepbalong sebagai kampung iklim. Kajian dilakukan melalui tiga program unggulan, yaitu penerapan teknologi berbasis sustainable zero waste mengkaji pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah, konservasi lahan, dan konservasi hutan. Program tersebut terbukti mampu meningkatkan keberdayaan masyarakat sasaran dan tim pelaksana. Peningkatan keberdayaan tersebut memiliki kecenderungan berbeda antara
      kemampuan kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Pencapaian tertinggi peningkatan keberdayaan pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah pada aspek psikomotorik, konservasi lahan pada aspek kognitif, dan konservasi hutan pada aspek afektif. Modal peningkatan keberdayaan dalam tiga aspek tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam perancangan program berkelanjutan agar kampung ProKlim di Ngesrepbalong dapat segera direalisasikan.

      Abstract: Literasi matematika dan karakter pelestarian alam menjadi hal penting dalam kehidupan saat ini. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan matematika mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang khususnya dalam kaitannya dengan penguatan kemampuan matematika dasar dan sifat protektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dan deskriptif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah lima mahasiswa dari jurusan yang berbeda di fakultas yang sama. Kelima siswa ini diminta mengerjakan soal matematika dan diperlihatkan hasilnya lebih rinci. Oleh karena itu, penulis melakukan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan pentingnya mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang memiliki literasi matematika dan penguatan karakter orang tua, karena literasi matematika yang baik dapat menyelesaikan masalah secara efisien. Artikel ini juga membantu masyarakat meningkatkan keterampilan matematika siswa mereka dan menjaga nilai-nilai konservasi lokal.

  • Peran Mahasiswa dalam Menjaga dan Membudidayakan Tanaman Hidroponik di
           Jurusan PKK

      Abstract: Hidroponik merupakan salah satu metode pertanian moderen adalah hidroponik karena tanaman dapat ditanam di berbagai lokasi, termasuk ladang yang luas, kota, desa, bahkan di atas apartemen. Sistem hidroponik menjadi solusi bagi yang tidak memiliki lahan yang luas, serta dapat mengendalikan hama dan penyakit, pasokan air yang mudah, musim panen yang dapat diprediksi, dan kualitas tanaman yang merata. Di Universitas Negeri Semarang tepatnya di Fakultas Teknik, penanaman dan budidaya hidroponik dilakukan di sekitar gedung jurusan Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk mendorong mahasiswa dalam melakukan pengembangan budidaya hidroponik di lingkungan kampus terutama di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang, selain itu mensosialisasi metode penggunaan dan sistem pembudidayaan tanaman hidroponik agar dapat dikembangkan di luar kampus.  Adapun metode pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, yang dimana pendekatan tersebut membahas tentang sebuah informasi atau data yang disampaikan berupa pernyataan. Teknik penyajian data yang digunakan pada kajian ini adalah narasi (penyajian data verbal) dengan melakukan wawancara dan dokumentasi sebagai alat untuk mendapatkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  pada lingkungan jurusan PKK menghasilkan sayuran pakcoy yang aman dikonsumsi, serta mahasiswa dapat memahami proses awal hingga akhir cara membudidayakan tanaman hidroponik menggunakan sistem penanaman Nutrient Film Engineering (NFT).Kata Kunci: Sistem, Budidaya, Sayuran, Hidroponik dan Lingkungan

  • Analisis Hasil Laporan Praktikum Uji Hidrokarbon Menggunakan Asam Sulfat

      Abstract: Artikel ini berisi analisis laporan praktikum hidrokarbon menggunakan asam sulfat. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan studi pustaka dan wawancara. Hidrokarbon merupakan golongan senyawa paling sederhana yang terdiri dari hidrogen (H) dan karbon (C). Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah suatu senyawa mengandung ikatan hidrkarbon dan bagaimana cara pengujiannya. Selain itu penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan data yang didapat apakah sesuai atau tidak dan perbedaan pada setiap kelas praktikum. Pada hasil praktikum didapat bahwa hasil berbeda-beda namun disamakan hasilnya sesuai teori supaya dijadikan bahan pembelajaran untuk praktikum selanjutnya. Hasil didapat melalui wawancara dan analisis laporan praktikum beberapa mahasiswa program studi biologi. Senyawa yang ditetesi 10 tetes asam sulfat menunjukkan hasil akhir berwarna bening. Yang artinya bahwa sampel yang diuji merupakan senyawa hidrokarbon tak jenuh untuk pengujian VCO. Sedangkan untuk pengujian kolesterol menghasilkan warna coklat kekuningan setelah ditetesi 10 tetes asam sulfat yang menandakan bahwa senyawa tersebut termasuk hidrokarbon jenuh sama seperti VCO.

      Abstract: Poverty is a problem that cannot be ignored. North Jakarta has become the city with the highest poverty rate in Jakarta Province for the last 2 consecutive years. The impact of poverty which is quite common in North Jakarta, namely children with poor economic and environmental conditions so that these children choose to become street children to earn a living by begging on the streets to fulfill their daily needs. The Kumala Foundation is one of the social institutions that empowers street children to develop themselves by developing soft skills such as recycling skills training for street children which aims to provide street children with skills in improving the economy. The research approach is carried out using the empowerment theory of Mardikanto and Soebianto by outlining aware-ness, capacity building and empowerment that has succeeded in providing a significant impact on street children in the results of human development, business development, environmental development and institutional devel-opment. The methodology in this study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques carried out by researchers using interviews, observation and documentation.

  • SANDY AND CLAY SOIL FERTILITY AFTER APPLICATION OF SOIL CONDITIONER FROM
           WATER HYACINTH (Eichhornia crassipes [mart.] solms) SHOOTS AND ROOTS

      Abstract: ABSTRACT Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant that highly problematic. Its fast-growing will chock of many water bodies, including in Rawa Pening Lake. Researchers are trying to find its economic uses. This study is aimed to evaluate the use of water hyacinth shoot and root as a soil conditioner in improving the fertility of sandy and clay soil. We used sandy and clay soil as evaluated and two treatments of soil conditioner, using water hyacinth shoots and root dried powder The water hyacinth biomass taken from Rawa Pening lake was dried under the sun and smashed into powder. The mixed dried powder with sandy or clay soil was prepared in the plastic polybag in the proportion of 1:1. The experiment was using a complete randomized design (CRD). Pure sandy and clay soil without soil conditioner was used as controls. Mixed soil fertility was evaluated for soil organic matter, bacteria population, C: N ratio, and water holding capacity. Results indicated that water hyacinth shoots and roots significantly increased the organic matter and bacteria population in both, sandy and clay soil. The ratio of C: N was reduced significantly. Water holding capacity in sandy soil was significantly increased, while in clay soil was reduced. It is suggested that the addition of water hyacinth shoots and roots as soil conditioners will significantly improve sandy and clay soil fertility. Water hyacinth roots contribute to better soil fertility than its shoots.KEYWORDS Keywords: clay, fertility, sandy, soil, water-hyacinth

  • Design of Appropriate Waste Management in Abuja Satellite Towns

      Abstract:
      Solid waste and its management have been of major concern to Abuja and its Satellite Towns. Improper management of solid waste has been a major avenue for disease transmission globally. This study examines the assessment of solid waste management systems in Abuja satellite towns within different socio-economic groups, and design of appropriate solutions for its management. In total 257 questionnaires were administered to residents in the 50 selected households across all the socio-economic groups. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 2020 and Microsoft Excel 2010. A total of 350 samples were collected from the households using random sampling to determine the amount of solid waste generated during one week in June 2021. The quantity generated was 1091.1kg with generation rates of 0.623kg/capita/day. The study recommended amongst others improvement on the present system of managing solid waste, and design of manual sanitary landfill as disposal solutions.

  • Estimasi Populasi Tokek Rumah (Gekko gecko Linaeus 1758) di Kota Semarang,

      Abstract: The house gecko is currently a type of wild animal that is in great demand for commercial trade, especially for consumption of its skin, meat and bones, especially as an ingredient in the chemical industry and traditional medicine. Based on various facts found in the field, most wild animals caught and traded are caught from nature, not from captivity. Data states that the highest export quota for house geckos comes from Java and especially Central Java, including the largest contributors. While there are no reports of this species populations in Central Java. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the house gecko population in Central Java, especially in Grobogan, Boyolali, and Semarang cities. The research was conducted in November-December 2021. The research method was interviews and direct observation (Visual Encountered Survey). Interviews were conducted during the day, researchers visited residents' homes according to the questionnaire guide. Meanwhile, the direct meeting method is carried out at night starting at 19.00–22.00 WIB. The results of the extrapolation analysis of house gecko density in 3 (three) districts/cities showed a total of 290.95 geckos. The highest density is found in Boyolali Regency.

  • On survey of Long-tailed macaque (Macaca Fascicularis) population in
           Central Java Province

      Abstract: Long-Tailed Macaque or “LTM” (Macaca fascicularis) is one of the internationally traded species and  most of the exported LTM are taken from the wild includng in Indonesia. This massive exploitation may result in extinction. Therefore, regulations to set the LTM export quota are necessary. One of the activities to set this quota is the LTM population survey. Data on LTM population in each area especially Indonesia  is insufficient. Governments, together with stakeholders, begin to estimate the LTM population in the field include in Central Java. The objective of the study was to analyze estimation of the population on LTM in Central Java especially in nine districy/city.Survey of LTM population in Central Java is implemented in nine District/City. , i.e., Semarang District, Magelang District, Temanggung District, Pemalang District, Boyolali District, Karanganyar District, Sukoharjo District, Wonogiri District, and Semarang City. Population data obtained by using the method concentration count. The observation was repeated at least twice at each observation point. The observation units are morning and afternoon (one-time observation). The observation is carried out at 05.30-11.00 (morning) and 15.00-17.00 (afternoon). The Result of tf the research showed total of 811 LTM individuals are encountered during data collection in nine  districts/cities in Central Java. Total survey area in nine districts/cities is 331.07 ha. Kreo Cave, Semarang City, is one of the locations with the highest number of LTM (164  individuals), and the lower number of LTM in Boyolali distric (43 individuals).
