  • Mathematical Modelling of Friction Winding of Large-Dia Meter Packages on
           a Translationally Moving Hanger

      Abstract: The article considers the problem of developing a dynamic and mathematical model of a receivingwinding mechanism for producing large-diameter packages. In the mechanism, the bobbin holder with the package rotates relative to a fixed axis, and the friction cylinder together with the traversing mechanism and its own drives are placed on a translationally moving carriage. The dynamic model takes into account the flexibility of the package surface, which does not hold the connection between the friction cylinder and the package, and the possibility of the rotating package slipping relative to the friction cylinder.

  • Electric Resistance of Carbon Polyvinyl Alcohol Fibers

      Abstract: The main patterns of the influence of the modes of dehydration and carbonization on the electrical resistance of carbon fibers based on polyvinyl alcohol have been determined. For the produced carbon fibers, the presence of minima in the dependences of the electrical resistance on the final carbonization temperature was noted. The hypothesis of the formation of a special system of polycumulene bonds, which underlies the discovered phenomenon of ultra-low, no more than 0.193·10–3 mOhm·cm, specific electrical resistance of elementary carbon polyvinyl alcohol fibers has been confirmed.

  • Effect of Treatment of the Surface of Para-Aramid Fiber with Multiwall
           Carbon Nanotubes on Its Structure and Properties. Infrared Spectra

      Abstract: The effect of ultraviolet radiation on the strength characteristics and structure of copolymeric para-aramid fiber was studied. A sample of the fiber produced under industrial conditions at the Termoteks plant was investigated. A suspension of Taunit carbon nanotubes was used to modify the fibers. Increased strength characteristics in the fiber and reduced degradation under ultraviolet exposure were obtained as a result of the treatment.

  • Investigation and Analysis of the Properties of

      Abstract: The article presents the results from comprehensive investigation of the physicomechanical and physicochemical properties of polyoxadiazole fibers by thermogravimetric, differential scanning colorimetric, and thermomechanical methods. It was established that the fiber retains its strength up to 85% after exposure in air for 300 hours at 250 °C.

      Abstract: The article describes the problem of implementing the process approach in operational and production planning and organizing technological stages of the production cycle. The article presents the materials of the author’s research on simulating continuous processes in the technological conversions of chemical fibres and threads production for textile enterprises. Planned and estimated indicators of production processes were selected as simulation parameters. Guidelines for flexible planning and development of planning and scheduling standards in the context of traditional production structures of enterprises in the industry have been given.

  • Mathematical Modeling of Viscoelastic Properties of Reinforced Polyester
           Sewing Threads

      Abstract: The method of mathematical modeling of viscoelastic properties of textile materials having a complex macrostructure is used for sewing threads and for variously twisted polyester yarn constituting them. The efficiency of the methods of determination of physicomechanical properties and of prediction of deformation processes relating to these materials is checked. The qualitative dependence of the effect of twist of threads and yarn on their physicomechanical properties and on the relaxation time spectrum is determined. The effect of twist on the elastic components of deformation and specific mechanical work of deformation is studied.

  • Development and Investigation of Knitted Filter Materials Using
           Multifilament Threads

      Abstract: Experimental samples of knitted goods from new promising types of polymer threads were produced and their properties were investigated. Warp knitted fabrics were chosen as the objects of the investigation. Different linear densities and numbers of filaments, out of which these fabrics are made, are a characteristic feature of these fabrics. Knitted fabric made from threads with maximum number of filaments has the minimum surface density, thickness, and air permeability. This makes it possible to reduce material content of the designed knitted goods with a set air permeability. Use of the obtained results is recommended for designing and manufacture of filter materials.

  • Properties of Carbon Fibers after Applying Metal Coatings on them by
           Magnetron Sputtering Technology

      Abstract: Using magnetron sputtering technology, two types of metal coatings, stainless steel and titanium, are applied to the surface of unidirectional carbon tape. Prior to the deposition of metal coatings, the surface of the carbon tape was pretreated in a low-temperature plasma in air. The results of the adhesion strength of the metal coatings to the carbon surface and the structural analysis of elementary carbon fibers with metal coatings are presented, and their thicknesses are determined. It was found that the adhesion strength of the metal coating to the carbon tape after its activation by low-temperature plasma increases. Samples of carbon plastics were made using vacuum infusion technology and it was found that their strength at interlayer shear, when using metallized carbon tape, increases by 10-40%.

  • Estimation of the Weibull-Gnedenko Distribution Parameters for the
           Strength of Single Filaments of Twaron and Taparan Para-Aramid Fibers
           Using the Bootstrap Method

      Abstract: The article discusses the application of the bootstrap statistical modeling method for processing the results of strength measurements performed on the Twaron and Taparan aramid fibers. The study was aimed at obtaining the distribution of the location parameter characterizing the onset of the filament destruction. For statistically identical distributions of mean strengths, the location parameters are shown to be statistically different. The obtained results can be used both by technologists to improve fiber technology and by designers of composite materials for ranking during the selection of a fiber for specific operating conditions.

  • Mathematical Modeling of Yarn Winding Tension

      Abstract: The problem of mathematical modeling of synthetic yarn tension in the transporting area of the take-up and winding device is investigated. Based on balance of moving masses, a differential equation was derived for tension of a moving yarn, taking account of the rate of yarn feeding into the winding area, winding rate, and the law of yarn feeder motion. The yarn material is proposed to be ideally elastic.
