    • Abstract: The research was devoted to a specific aspect of the book Al-Kawakib Al-Duriya in the Al-Sira al-Nouriah, which is the Zangids in Mosul. The book dealt with the Zenkids of Mosul with great interest in the importance of the Zangi state in Mosul because it was the basis from which the Nouri state branched. We have dealt with the subject of the research through three aspects, namely the political, social and economic aspect. We based this on the texts included in the book, which contained adequate information about the Zangids in Mosul since the establishment of the Zangid state until the death of King Nur al-Din Mahmud, who singled out the book “Al-Kawakib al-Duriya” with his biography and according to the historical sequence that the book followed

           of View of their Teachers

    • Abstract: Service Leadership plays an important role in the school administration, as it represents an effective element in the functioning of the school. Service leadership is an important axis in the administrative process due to its service of teachers, staff and auditors. It works to assist teachers in completing the tasks assigned to them, and involves them in making decisions related to the work of the school.  It also involves them in defining the goals through which the school's vision and mission can be achieved, and Service Leadership stems from the principal's desire to serve others at the expense of his personal desire. The aim of the research is to identify the level of Service Leadership of middle school principals from the point of view of their teachers, by answering the questions: What is the level of servant leadership of middle school principals from the point of view of their teachers in general'  Is there a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) in the level of servant leadership among middle school principals from the point of view of their teachers according to the variables (gender, specialization, years of service)'  .  The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the community for the current research consisted of middle school teachers in the city of Mosul for the academic year 2021-2022.  Middle Schools in the city of Mosul.  For the purpose of achieving the objectives of the research, it required the researchers to build the servant leadership scale, and after verifying the validity and reliability of the research tool, it became in its final form consisting of (31) paragraphs.  The t-test for two independent samples, Pearson's correlation coefficient, the t-test for the significance of the correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient.  After analyzing the data statistically, the results showed that the principals of middle schools have a high level of servant leadership from the point of view of their teachers, and there are no statistically significant differences due to the variable (gender / specialization / years of service) among the members of the research sample. The researchers made recommendations, including the involvement of school principals in  Training courses to enhance the level of their servant leadership, as well as raise their competency in the field of professional growth for school workers.

  • A Comparative Study on the Emotional Life Style of Middle School Teachers
           in the City of Mosul

    • Abstract: The research aims to measure the emotional life style of middle school teachers, and to identify the level of emotional life style of middle school teachers according to the variable (gender, specialization, and duration of marriage), as well as the differences in the level of emotional life style according to the variable (gender, specialization,  the duration of marriage).  The research community reached (1779) male and female teachers, and the main sample was (600) male and female teachers distributed among the schools of the center of Nineveh Governorate, and one of the requirements of the study is a tool to measure the emotional lifestyle, so the two researchers translated, Arabized and adapted the scale (emotional lifestyle) by Randy Larsen (Randy,  J, Larsen 1984), and David Buss (David.M, Buss), prepared in (1984), consisting of (40) items, and it was developed by excellence and factor analysis procedures.  The number of paragraphs became (33) paragraphs distributed over (6) fields, and then presented to experts specialized in the English language to verify the veracity of the translation, noting that "the scale consists of (24) paragraphs, and each paragraph has seven alternatives and requires the respondent to choose the alternative that applies to him  The alternatives are: (Strongly disagree, disagree, no  I somewhat agree, neutral, somewhat agree (somewhat, agree, strongly agree). Reliability was calculated using test-retest and Cronbach's alpha method.  The highest score for the scale is (168) and the lowest score for the scale is (24) with a hypothetical mean (96). The scale was applied in its final form to the basic research sample and it was found that the tool is honest and consistent and its paragraphs are distinguished and valid for application. The researchers concluded that middle school teachers have a high level of emotional life style.  There are no statistically significant differences according to the variables of gender, specialization, and duration of marriage.  They also recommended its use to the concerned authorities to benefit from the results of the research in order to enhance the emotional lifestyle, and they suggested conducting a correlative study of the relationship of the emotional lifestyle with the two personality types (A-B) among university professors.

  • The Effect of an Educational Program in Reducing Academic Procrastination
           Behavior Among ...

    • Abstract: The current research aims at: 1-    Identifying the level of the academic procrastination for the secondary school students. 2-    Identifying the effect of an educational program on decreasing the academic procrastination for the secondary school students. To accomplish the objectives of the research, the following hypotheses were formulated: -         There is no significant difference between the average marks of the experimental group in the pretest and the posttest. -         There is no significant difference between the average marks of the experimental and the control groups in the posttest. -         There is no significant difference between the average marks in the seven components of the academic procrastination behavior for the experimental groups in the pretest and the posttest. To fulfill the objectives of the research, a scale to measure the academic procrastination behavior was constructed, which consists of (38) items distributed on (7) components that stand for the reasons behind the academic procrastination. The apparent was verified and the percentage of the experts agreement was (85%). Also, the scale items discriminating power was determined and the validity of the construction by calculating the correlation coefficient between each of the scale items in addition to calculating the total score. From the other hand, invariability was measured using Alpha cronbach equation and the value of the invariability value was (0.82). The sample of the research consisted of (40) male student in the fifth secondary grade (biological, practical and literary branches) who were noticed to have academic procrastination behavior. The experimental design was used for the experimental and the control group with pretest and posttest. The individuals of the samples were distributed into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group and each group included (20) students. Equivalence between the students of the two groups was conducted. The researcher constructed the educational program, which consists of (8) educational training sessions that represent the academic procrastination aspects and the program was applied to the experimental group. To analyze the data the SPSS statistical software was used and the results showed the following: 1-    There was a significant difference between the average marks of the experimental group individuals in the pretest and the posttest in favor of the posttest. This denotes that the program had an effect on decreasing the academic procrastination behavior of the secondary school students. 2-    There is a statistically significant difference between the marks of the two groups (the experimental and the control groups) in the pretest and the posttest in favor of the experimental group and this denotes decreasing the academic procrastination behavior for them. 3-    There is a statistically significant difference between the marks in the seven aspects of the academic procrastination behavior of the experimental group individuals in the pretest and the posttest and this indicates that the educational program (with its seven aspects) had a significant effect on decreasing the academic procrastination behavior of the experimental group individuals. Based on what has been mentioned, the researcher submitted a set of recommendations and suggestions.

           The Students of ...

    • Abstract: Education institutions are regarded as the highest level of community institutions since they are in charge of educating people to fulfil significant roles in society and work on their own development by equipping them with a variety of coping mechanisms for stressful situations. Therefore, the current study aimed to determine the strategies employed among the students of College of Education for Humanities for self-defense and mental alertness. To accomplish the research's aim, a scale of self-protection techniques was created and presented to experts and arbitrators. It included (30) items with quinquennial alternatives; structural validity; the ability to extract distinguishing strength and stability through retesting; and the creation of a mental alertness scale,  consisting of (35) items with quintuple alternatives. Its face validity, structural validity, extracting discriminant power and stability were verified by re-testing, then using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient as statistical means. The results showed that the students have self-protection methods represented by self-esteem, defensive means, and pessimistic outlook, and that they have an above-average level of mental alertness, and there are no differences in the relationship between self-protection methods and mental alertness among students according to the gender variable (males-females), and there are differences in favour of fourth graders, and in light of that, a number of recommendations and suggestions were made.
