- Characteristics and structuring of agriculture in the Immediate Geographic
Region of Pau dos Ferros: notes from the Agricultural Census of 2017

Abstract: The objective is to discuss the characteristics and structuring of the Agricultural Sector in the context of the Immediate Geographic Region of Pau dos Ferros. Bibliographic research was carried out in IBGE databases. The results indicate the loss of participation of the Agropecuary VAB in the Total VAB; relevant presence of minifúndios and modest governmental action in the distribution of land; predominance of family farming in the generation of occupations; incipient use of technological contributions in production; dissemination of rural electrification and marked presence of water resources. It is concluded that Agriculture has lost economic importance, remains with an incompatible land structure, has more than 80% of family establishments, has low technical and technological capacity to carry out production and even so generates almost 40,000 occupations.

- Expansion of COVID 19 in the State of Ceará: specialization from the
elderly population of the municipality of Milhã – CE

Abstract: The present study spatializes the elderly population of the municipality of Milhã - Ceará by census sectors in three categories: Number of inhabitants, literate population and head of household population, in line with the analysis of the expansion of the virus and hospital bed occupancy rates in the municipalities of the state of Ceará. Ceará. For this purpose, data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE for the year 2010 and records on COVID-19 at the Ceará Health Department were adopted. Thus, it was possible to identify that rural areas have a greater amount of elderly population than urban areas, and that a large part of this population is the head of the family, without access to literacy and living far from health care centers.

- Implications of the gender approach in migratory studies

Abstract: The gender approach to study population migrations is a powerful way to highlight the participation and protagonism of women in these movements. This essay is based on the following question: What are the implications of the gender approach in migratory studies' To this end, the objective is to discuss the main characteristic aspects of the gender approach in studies on population migrations with emphasis on female migrations. The theoretical framework consists of Domenech and Dias (2020), Gil (2004), Julià (1998), Piscitelli (2013), Pizarro (2003), Guizard, Torralba and Stefoni (2018) and Sassen (2003). Therefore, the reflections in this writing started from the transdisciplinary effort to discuss the theme based on an articulation between the literature used on gender and mobility of the female population.

- Analysis of rainfall variability and its contribution to the study of
urban climate in the city of Feira de Santana-BA

Abstract: The article proposes to identify the rainfall pattern for the municipality of Feira de Santana-BA. For this purpose, two statistical techniques were applied to propose the ordering of the indexes, both monthly and annual, namely, Sturges formula and the quartile technique. The treatment of the data took place through the tabulation, elaboration of graphs and tables, which were executed in the Excel and Qtiplot software. As a synthesis of the results generated, the technique of representation by the box plot graphs and the summary table is used. It was found that the greatest variability occurs in the summer, highlighted by the occurrence of variability and high rainfall that trigger hydrometeoric impacts. Less variability in spring, seasonality with greater predictability of reduced rainfall volumes.

- Considerations on science and technology

Abstract: In the present article, we search to discuss science and technology as productive forces and ideological instruments controlled and determined by capital to enhance the production of plus-value. We read the theme based on comprehension of the relations between Humankind and Nature mediated by work and its specificities in capitalism. In our understanding, the scientific production and the consequent materialization in technologies do not occur isolated from the existing relations of production as long as they are related to it. For this, we sustain our analysis on the historical-dialectical materialism method through the categories of totality, mediation, and contradiction, which allow us to read the concrete reality.

- Between medium and small, the dynamics of sub-regional cities in Bahia

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the characteristics in the urban network of sub-regional cities, which are located between small (which do not have regional functions) and medium (which are articulated on larger scales). In Bahia, there are some cities in this group. Due to the policies of economic and administrative decentralization and deconcentration, these cities acquired new functions, when receiving state establishments of regional management. In certain cases, they have branches of companies, real estate products, etc. It is expected with this text new analyzes about these existing cities in Bahia and Brazil to advance in the elaboration of a concept or even a notion that allows a better understanding of its features, logics and articulations to avoid, from our point of view, incorrect generalizations.

- Territorial development with a focus on agrobiodiversity of food systems

Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the production, use and commercialization of products linked to agrifood systems. Semi-structured interviews were carried out, among other participatory methodologies, with members of the Cooperativa Mixta de Produção e Comercialização Campesina do Estado de Alagoas - COOPCAM. The cooperative activity of processing fruit in pulp, jam and wine has economic relevance for the members, and the agrobiodiversity identified in the agroecosystems allows us to conclude that the analyzed agrifood systems are important for food security, in addition to being a source of income for families for through fruit processing, and that this activity can be enhanced with the support of public policies, such as PAA and PNAE.

- Perception of the landscape in teaching geography: designing the “our
everyday” landscape

Abstract: This article presentsresults of the application of the workshop “Drawing our daily landscape”, through the representation of the landscape through art, more specifically, through drawings, for students of Basic Education, specifically, Elementary School II, in the municipality of Meruoca, Ceará. We aim to demonstrate the playful capacity that the artistic tool can promote a better assimilation about the reality lived in the Semi-Arid environment, through representation of the landscape. We adopted the insertion of drawing workshops using phenomenology as a methodological tool. It is worth emphasizing the question of the applicability of such alternatives in the practice of teaching in Geography, especially Physical Geography, it can cause an involvement of the participants, under the influence of a playful perspective, aiming at a lighter strategy.

- Urban expansion and environmental problems: the case of Teotônio Vilela
neighborhood, Ilhéus, Bahia

Abstract: In the city of Ilhéus, Bahia, urban expansion processes are directly and indirectly related to social and environmental problems. From this perspective, the objective of this work is to identify the environmental impacts resulting from the urban expansion process in the Teotônio Vilela neighborhood. Therefore, the methodology consisted of a broad theoretical review, qualitative and quantitative information surveys (basic sanitation, water supply, electricity, sewage, garbage disposal) based on the 2010 census (IBGE, 2010 ), in addition, information on the spatial-temporal evolution of land use and occupation was also considered from maps of the neighborhood in the periods 2006, 2012, 2020, available from the Annual Mapping of Land Cover and Land Use Project in Brazil (MapBiomas, 2021)

- Production of urban space in Marabá (PA): trajectories and processes

Abstract: Analyzes are carried out, mediated by the survey of authors and theoretical foundations, about the process of production of urban space in Marabá, and the processes that contributed to the spatial configurations that make up today. The survey carried out made it possible to identify a trajectory that presents similarities, but also particularities, when reading about the process of constitution of cities in the Amazon, influencing the production of an urban space that presents organization in Nuclei that have peculiar characteristics, containing also representations of the trajectory of the city's constitution process.

- The space category in the construction of identity

Abstract: The human sciences are important for the understanding of society, but science geography has been one of the main bridges for studies on the relations of man and nature, incorporated in the face of the categories, space, place, territory, landscape and region. In this theoretical essay, we sought to understand the conceptual evolution of the theme and understand how the category of space builds identity. The general objective was thought; reflect on space as a category of the geographic epistemological basis for the construction of identity. In addition, some of the main classical theoretical contributions (Eric Dardel, Alfredo Wagner Berno de Almeida, Ana fani Alessandri Carlos, Stuart Hall, Henry Lafebvre, Karl Marx, Milton Santos) were used in order to understand evolution of the concepts of space for the construction of identity.

- City science and urban plan: geoprocessing as instrument of municipal
strategic planning

Abstract: Urban spaces are characterized by ongoing complex and dynamic processes, which demand public management to develop a multiple and integrated perspective. This article aims to discuss municipal urban planning in public administration. Herein we adopt the Evidence-Based Planning (EBP) methodology, basing the analysis on government data geoprocessing. Given the above-mentioned objective, a bibliographic review and a cartographic production were carried out, which led to a compilation of the main EBP-based works undertaken in Aracaju-SE and their consequences to the city. We conclude the article by presenting a critical analysis of the methodology applicability at municipal level, highlighting positive aspects and main difficulties that might make its application unfeasible.

- Landscape and field class

Abstract: This study consists of a bibliographic research on the evolution of the landscape concept in Geographic Science, the use of the landscape concept in Elementary School linked to field class, as well as an analysis of the National Common Curriculum Base, in order to verify which year of elementary school would be more appropriate to apply a landscaperelated field lesson, with a local perspective. Therefore, the main objective of the work is to highlight the importance of the field class in Basic Education, allied to the study of the landscape concept on a local scale, enabling students to perceive themselves as agents in the spaces in which they live what contributes in the teaching-learning process and also in citizen action.

- The perennialization of rivers through the construction of dams in the
Brazilian northeastern semiarid region

Abstract: This article analyzes the perennialization of the Jaguaribe, Piranhas Açu and Capibaribe Brazil’s rivers, from the construction of dams along their courses, due to the need to capture water to supply municipalities that suffer from the scarcity of this water resource in the Region East Northeast Atlantic Hydrographic from Brazil. The research has a bibliographical and qualitative approach. The results of the investigation showed that, although the construction of dams are seen as simple political practices, they cause environmental impacts such as the deforestation of riparian forests on the banks of these rivers. Thus, through reflections on the theme, it is understood that these works do not mean a definitive solution, but a guarantee of securing, with dignity, the inhabitants of the hydrographic region.

- Rural Social Security in Itabaiana-SE: introductory analysis

Abstract: The universalization right to rural retirement in Brazil is recent. The social protection system before the Federal Constitution of 1988 had requirements that segregated small family farmers. Given this, the present work seeks reflect, empirical-analytical bias, the historical process of rural social security in Brazil and its socioeconomic impacts on the life of family farmers in the municipality of Itabaiana-SE. The methodological procedures went through theoretical reflections, data collection and fieldwork. The spatial area studied in 2020, according the INSS, there were 2,989 urban retirees and 6,364 rural retirees. A fact that demonstrates the socioeconomic importance that social security has lives social actors who live in the rural areas of Itabaiana-SE and in the reduction of poverty in Brazil.

- Monoculture of the eucalyptus in the degradation of nature and work’s
social forces, in the Prado river basin, municipality of Encruzilhada/BA

Abstract: In the capitalist crisis, there is an intensification of the conflicts for ambiental resources, provoking the nature exploration. Lands concentration and the salaried employment changes the concrete work's principles, causing disagreement. In the municipality of Encruzilhada/BA, the eucalyptus in the logging logic for charcoal production exports the natural resources causing the unsustainability of this model. The society-work-nature relation becomes fundamental to explain the ways of subjection of the peasants to capitalism, this comprehension allows the understanding of the real concrete experienced in the agribusiness territory. With these collisions, the peasants attempt to resist, remaining in the countryside, through civil society organizations, via associativism, social movements, non-governmental organizations and churches.
