Authors:Martina Aiello, Davide Airoldi , Elisabetta Garofalo Abstract: Resources availability assessment is essential for renewable energy planning and related development scenarios for the achievement of decarbonisation objectives. As national information about wind farm projects often lack a geographic connotation, the definition of a rapid and extensive approach for mapping installed wind turbines is a priority. The currently available free medium resolution satellite data considerably facilitate WTGs localization and represent a valid instrument to retrieve input data to models and applications for renewable energy sources spatial planning. Authors:Valerio Caroselli Abstract: Biodiversity - the diversity of all ecosystems and natural species - is being lost at an unprecedented rate of growth. According to the World Wildlife Fund's recent Living Planet report, populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians have declined by an average of 60 percent in just over 40 years. Scientists Gerardo Ceballos, Paul R. Ehrlich and Rodolfo Dirzo have dubbed this decline and the impending wave of extinctions a “biological annihilation. Authors:Eleonora Maset, Lorenzo Scalera Abstract: GEOMATICS AND ROBOTICS: A WINNING COMBINATION TOWARDS THE AUTOMATION OF THE SURVEY The discipline of Geomatics itself is experiencing a phase of profound innovation, resulting from an ever greater integration with technologies and methods developed, among others, in the field of Robotics and of IT. Authors:Marco Lisi Abstract: In recent years it has been repeatedly discussed, even on the pages of this Magazine, of the dependence of our society from space systems and attacks, more or less evident, worked against them in various forms. Particularly worrying, for whom deals with geomatics, were the various and often repeated episodes of "jamming" and "spoofing" towards signals GNSS, especially GPS, in various areas of the world, such as the Middle East, Strait of Hormuz, China Sea, Korea. No less serious, though perhaps less well known, the attempts at attacks cybernetic versus satellite systems for Earth observation and the communications.
