Authors:Muh. Tang, Gufran D. Dirawan Pages: 01 - 10 Abstract: The research objective was to determine the influence of knowledge, attitudes, and motivation on detergent use behavior. Detergent waste water is one of the biggest contributors to environmental pollution. This study used a questionnaire data collection method to the community totaling 60 people and carried out multiple regression analysis. The results of this research show that: (i) the influence of knowledge on detergent usage behavior is included in the high category. (ii) the effect of attitudes towards detergent use behavior is in the high category, (iii) the effect of motivation on detergent use behavior is included in the high category, and (iv) the effect of knowledge, attitudes, and motivation on detergent use behavior shows a significant regress equation. This means that the community influences the behavior of using detergent with regression coefficients of 0.043, 0.010 and 0.000 respectively. Authors:Muh. Ansar, Gufran D. Dirawan Pages: 11 - 19 Abstract: Indonesia is one of the countries that has started to develop organic farming. The attractiveness of organic farming, both farmers and ordinary people, is also triggered by consumer awareness to choose food that is safe for health. This research is a survey research, namely explanatory/confirmation research. The research was conducted using interview methods and questionnaire instruments. The sampling method used purposive sampling. Hypothesis testing showed that the nature of innovation (t-statistic 2.741) and extension support (t-statistic 8.530) had a significant effect on the interest level of farmers. Likewise, the nature of potential users (t-statistic 3.174) and extension support (t-statistic 2.274) have a significant effect on farmer adoption rates. The conclusion of this research is; (1) Farmers are familiar with and have tried organic farming, but the adoption process is still influenced by market access which makes farmers reluctant to start implementing organic farming; (2) the nature of innovation and extension support are factors that influence the interest level of farmers; farmer's nature (characteristics) and counseling are factors that influence adoption; (3) The Salassae Farmer Swabina Community (KSPS) in this case is a place for farmers to learn about the application of organic farming, but it needs to be empowered again for independent extension workers who are able to play a role together with KSPS. Authors:Farida Farida, Moh. Ahsan S. Mandra Pages: 20 - 25 Abstract: Indonesia is one of the countries that has started to develop organic farming. The Erosion is a very serious hazard that threatens anyone living along the riverbanks, although sometimes slowly, the consequences are enormous, including loss and loss of life, sedimentation and endangered river biota. River riparian management is an approach to protect and restore riparian ecological functions (areas around rivers) that are important for the sustainability of river ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to see how much influence community participation had on river riparian management for erosion control. The research was conducted by pretest and posttest analysis of increasing public knowledge by using paired sample t test. The results of the analysis show that there is an increase in knowledge before and after being given training on river riparian management for erosion management based on community participation. These results also indicate that the training provided to local communities is effective for use on a larger research scale. Authors:Nurabdiansyah Nurabdiansyah, Moh. Ahsan S. Mandra Pages: 26 - 37 Abstract: Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) is a design discipline concerned with the creation and arrangement of graphic design elements in a physical environment. While environment-themed information design refers to the use of graphic design to convey messages about environmental issues. Environmental Graphic Design in this context is a medium of conveying messages through visual communication design. This study analyzes the perception of students of the Visual Communication Design (DKV) department, Faculty of Art and Design, Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) towards Environmental Graphic Design and environment-themed information design. The research was conducted by asking simple questions about Environmental Graphic Design and environment-themed information design. It was concluded that students know the use of graphic design and information design to convey messages about environmental issues but have not been able to understand the effectiveness and potential of environmental graphic design in increasing public understanding and awareness of these issues. This research encourages the use of Environmental Graphic Design to convey messages about the environment intersecting with information design which is believed to provide new experiences and inspire behavior change in environmental issue and conservation efforts and encourage concrete actions in supporting environmental education. Authors:Muhammad Asrul, Muhammad Wiharto, Nurlita Pertiwi Pages: 38 - 45 Abstract: Humans and the environment are a complete ecosystem unit, where one cannot be separated from one another. The unity of the ecosystem includes ecological, economic, socio-cultural aspects, which are intertwined in human civilization. However, a series of human activities are often the cause of various cases of environmental degradation. The aim of the research was to find out the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the community before and after being given training on land forest conservation. The research was conducted in Palopo City, especially Wara Barat District, with a total sample of 20 people selected through purposive sampling. The study used a descriptive quantitative pre-experiment and was analyzed using the Paired Sample T test. The results showed that after being given training on land conservation management, the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the community increased significantly. This indicates that the training has had a positive influence and changed the understanding of land forest conservation. PubDate: 2023-08-02 DOI: 10.26858/uej.v6i3.50991 Issue No:Vol. 6, No. 3 (2023)
Authors:Muhammad Azwar, Lilis Widiastuty Pages: 46 - 51 Abstract: This research aims to analyze drug prevention strategies among students of Senior High School Negeri 5 Makassar. The study employs a descriptive method, involving student samples from various grade levels. Data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The research findings indicate that students are inclined to be vulnerable to drug exposure. Contributing factors to this behavior include students' lack of knowledge about the risks of drug abuse, peer pressure, and insufficient supervision from parents and the school. In preventing drug behavior, it was found that an educational approach integrated with strict supervision has a positive impact. Active involvement of parents and teachers in providing information about the dangers of drugs, as well as offering emotional support to students, is also crucial. Therefore, collaborative efforts among the school, parents, and the community are necessary to develop a comprehensive and effective prevention program to safeguard students from the dangers of drugs. Authors:Hermawati Hamalding, Irmayanti A. Oka, Sri Ika Fitriani Pages: 52 - 58 Abstract: LBW continues to be a significant public health problem globally because of its short-term and long-term effects on health. One way to prevent low birth weight babies (LBW) is by improving the nutritional status of pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women and low birth weight at St. Madyang City of Palopo. This type of research is an analytic observational study with correlation studies. The time approach used is a cross sectional study. The population in this study were all pregnant women who gave birth at St. Madyang City of Palopo as many as 99 people. The sample in this study were pregnant women who gave birth at St. Madyang City of Palopo as many as 99 people. In this study the sample was taken using total sampling. Data analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results showed that 16 respondents (16.2%) had KEK nutritional status and 83 respondents (83.8%) had normal nutritional status. Respondents who had LBW babies were 23 people (23.2%) and babies who were not LBW were 76 people (76.8%). There is a relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women and low birth weight (LBW) at St. Madyang City of Palopo, significant value p = 0.000 <α = 0.05. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women and low birth weight (LBW) at St. Madyang City of Palopo. This research is expected to be used as a reference in improving MCH services at St. Madyang especially regarding the nutritional status of pregnant women and birth weight (BBL).
