  • An Analysis of the Causal Relationship of the Quality in Educational
Management of Children’s Development Centers Under the Supervision of
           the Local Administrative Organization

    • Authors: Parinya Meesuk, Nuengruthai Mekwathat
      Pages: 193 - 211
Abstract: This research aimed to study the causal variables of the quality in educational management of children’s development centers under the supervision of the Local Administrative Organization. Multi-stage randomization revealed the total number of the sample, which was 1,200 child development centres nationwide. A calculation to determine the appropriate sample size for structural equation analysis was also administered. Tools used include 87-item questionnaires regarding the quality of children’s development centers with the values of content validity and reliability lying between 0.60-1.00 and 0.731-0.828. Correlation coefficient analysis and structural equation analysis were employed in the study with additional analysis of frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, distribution coefficient, maximum value, minimum value, skewness, and kurtosis. The results showed that causal variables of the educational management quality of the centers consist of management skills, changed leadership, and purposeful communication. The results of the causal relationship analysis showed that there is a compliance among empirical data with the following values: = 3.12, df = 1, p-value = 0.077, RMSEA = 0.042, GFI = 1.00, AGFI = 0.99, RMR = 0.009, and NFI = 1.00. All the variables are affecting the educational quality of children’s development centers, indicated by influential values lying between -0.07 and 0.51, statistically significant at 0.05.

  • Evaluation of Mentor Competencies in Creating a Project Plan of Local
Health Funds in Region 12, Songkhla

    • Authors: Kingkarn Kajaroen, Phen Sukmag
      Pages: 213 - 237
Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the competencies of mentors to create project plans for health promotion and disease prevention under the Local Health Funds, Region 12, and to determine the relationship between mentor competencies and the quality of the projects. The sample comprised 122 mentors and 93 project writers selected using stratified random sampling between January 2018 and November 2019. The instruments were a competency self-assessment questionnaire for mentors, a mentor competency questionnaire for assessment by project writers, and a project quality questionnaire for assessment by mentors. The instruments were validated by three experts and yielded IOC values between 0.67 and 1.00. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. It was found that mentor competency was self-assessed as being at a high level overall by 74%, with a range from 71% for knowledge competency to 77% for self-concept. Mentor competency was assessed by project writers as being at a high level overall by 79%, ranging from 73% for self-concept to 84% for skill competency. Overall self-assessed competency was positively correlated with project quality at a high level (r = 0.856, p<.001). Similarly, competencies in self-concept, skills, and motivation were also positively and significantly correlated with project quality (r = 0.783, 0.718, and 0.711, respectively). As assessed by project writers, mentor competency overall was positively correlated with project quality, but at a moderate level (overall r =.575, p<.001), while skill competency was correlated with project quality at a high level (r = 0.725, sig. <.001). The results of the study should be of benefit to the relevant departments in developing the competency of potential mentors to create good quality project plans. The assessments by project writers on the knowledge, self-concept, traits, and motivation aspects of mentor competency should be particularly useful.

  • Network Development of a Community Enterprise Management in the Songkhla
           Lake Basin

    • Authors: Danuvat Suwanvong
      Pages: 239 - 256
Abstract: The purposes of this research were to (1) study guidelines for network development of community enterprise management, (2) study opportunities and the possibility of network connection, and (3) develop a network model of community enterprise management in the Songkhla Lake Basin.
This study was qualitative. The population was a community enterprise group in the Songkhla Lake Basin, represented by the sampling of 130 entrepreneurs in the area. Data collection was done through group discussion, brainstorming, and joint activities. Almost all data were analysed using content analysis with inductive analysis techniques, under the group-to-group network format and the network format that contains the central organization. The results of the study showed that the guidelines for building a management network of community enterprises in the Songkhla Lake Basin must be as follows: Firstly, central organizations should get involved in the networking procedure with the participation of relevant parties. Secondly, the network of community enterprises should be expanded. Thirdly, the network relationship must be developed. Finally, there must be cooperation in the network. In addition, the factor that can connect networks is a knowledge network. This mechanism is created by the cooperation of many agencies. Two main factors can create opportunities and possibilities for network linking: (1) a one-to-one relationship of the enterprise groups, and (2) networking through intermediaries, on the condition that the operation must be performed with facilitators. The model for network management of the local community enterprise group is classified as that of a knowledge management network, with the relevant government agencies or educational institutions being the first units to coordinate them.

  • Supply Chain Management of Swiftlet’s Nest Business in Thailand

    • Authors: Chayaporn Krabeethong, Yuwat Vuthimedhi, Thanawan Sangsuwan
      Pages: 271 - 292
Abstract: This research aims to study the supply chain management of Swiftlet’s nest business in Thailand. An in-depth interview was used as the research tool, and information was collected from 35 individuals including Swiftlet’s housing construction entrepreneurs, bird nest cleaning entrepreneurs, and bird nest distribution entrepreneurs. The sample group was the bird nest business operators in Thailand. The study found that the entrepreneurs of upstream, midstream, and downstream, have good management of the supply chain and pay attention to customer needs. The operators of Swiftlet’s house (upstream) emphasize 1) entrepreneurship and labor, 2) Swiftlets, 3) knowledge, 4) cost and time, and 5) customer needs. The bird nest cleaning operators (midstream) pay attention to 1) knowledge, 2) labor, 3) transportation, and 4) customer needs. The entrepreneurs of the bird nest distribution (downstream) pay attention to 1) distributors, 2) products, and 3) customer needs. Operators in the supply chain, upstream, midstream, and downstream, mainly take into account the quality of bird nest products according to the needs of customers. It is also found that the birdhouse builder (upstream), the operator of bird nest cleaners (midstream) as well as a distributor of the bird nests (downstream) are the same person. This phenomenon shortens the functionality and connections in the supply chain, but still emphasizes the quality of bird nest products.

  • Phuket: The Area of Creating a Chinese Identity

    • Authors: Patamas Pinnukul, Mateta Sirisuk, Supachai Singyabuth
      Pages: 293 - 308
Abstract: This article is part of research on Chinese art and culture in Phuket. It is a part of the study of the Phuket provincial area on the physical areas and their meanings to the first group of pioneers as well as the social space that is meaningful to the Chinese and various ethnic groups and the imaginary area of creating Chinese identity in Phuket. This is qualitative research using using studying amount of information, documents and various evidence, participation and non-participation observation as well as in-depth interviews with Chinese sages, including those involved in performing rituals in the Chinese shrines analyzed and presented in terms of descriptive research results. The result of the research revealed that Phuket is rich in natural resources, located on the old shipping route in the Indian Ocean, known to sailors, attracting people to come to benefit and settle down until the original group somewhat retreated away. With the demand for tin ore various overseas Chinese people migrated and became laborers in the production process until it has become a city and society occupied by Hokkien Chinese people. Consequently, Chinese groups of people brought cultural traditions and rituals with their identity greatly expressed in the Chinese shrines, established their communities and passed on the beliefs to their Thai-Chinese descendants who greatly influenced subsequent generations. They developed and built additional shrines, continued traditions and the rituals that are common in the shrines today through the great making of Phuket as an imaginary area, showing such a Chinese identity that it has become a cultural capital of tourism well-known to the world over.

  • Key Factors Affecting Consumer Behavior in Thai Digital Marketing:
Research Synthesis by Systematic Literature Review and Data-Mining
           Techniques

    • Authors: Attakrai Punpukdee
      Pages: 345 - 369
Abstract: This research was conducted using systematic literature review and data-mining techniques to create predictive models of key factors affecting consumer behavior in digital marketing in Thailand. The data analysis is based on 50 synthesized pieces of literature regarding the relationship of digital marketing factors with a systematic review process. Techniques for data-mining relationship rules were employed to create a relationship model and prediction. The results of the study showed that there were 84 variables from 50 research papers. The top five most frequently studied variables are purchase intentions, customer satisfaction, reliability, attitude, and quality of the product and service. Data from 50 synthetic literature was analyzed using data-mining techniques. Afterward, a predictive model from an association rule was created. The predictive model was able to predict the most variables under the study, which are attitude and purchase intentions or services. The chance that a pair/variable group will be studied in future research is 12.72%. This predictive model can guide researchers and marketers to conduct digital marketing studies, accurately study key factors influencing consumer behaviors, be a guide to find out related variables of consumer behavior, and plan marketing strategies that fit the context of Thailand.

  • Food Waste Management in a Hotel Kitchen for Effective Handling of the Raw
Materials and Being more Environmentally Friendly

    • Authors: Chainun Chaiyasain
      Pages: 371 - 387
Abstract: The growth of the tourism and hotel industry has increased the amount of food waste in a hotel kitchen for decades. Food waste is indeed a management challenge. Operators in this business, operating in an unbalanced way, suffer losses caused by five main factors: (1) inefficiency of production flow, (2) inadequate skills of the personnel, (3) inappropriate business policy of the restaurant, (4) poor planning and design of food item, and (5) inefficiency in the delivery of goods and services. In addition, to actualize eco-friendly kitchen management, business operators need to understand the economy, which focuses on sustainability and community collaboration as its conceptual basis.
