The data was convenientlycollected from 233 students enrolled in the Business and AdministrationDepartment in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and theVocational School of Social Sciences in a Turkish university. The instrumentsof the study were the originally named “Skala zur Erfassung der Internetsucht”internet addiction questionnaire designed by Hahn and Jerusalem (2001) and translatedinto Turkish by Şahin and Korkmaz (2011), and the Maslach Burnout Inventory –Student Survey (MBI-SS) designed by Schaufeli et al. (2002) and translated intoTurkish by Çapri, Gündüz and Gökçakan (2011). The results of the study revealeda positive and significant relationship between internet addiction and burnout.However, the variables of gender and educational level were found to have nomoderating role in the correlation. They serve as a mini-yet-mighty image world from which humankind is able to derive information about themselves in terms of clots and accessories since they started to cover their body. In this sense, fashion with its clothes and accessories that vary depending on the culture and era, has turned into a communication vehicle among individuals. However, especially for women, it has transformed into a vehicle manipulating their ideal body image and identity as reflected by clothes. In daily life, especially women are exposed to thoughts about ideal body shape norms either explicitly or implicitly by the media products, owing to the technological era. Nowadays, a new approach on woman body, body affirmation, has become popular among women. The approach’ target is to make women be happy with their own bodies. Therefore, it seems to indicate that women are more conscious about effects of media and fashion.
