  • Professional qualities of a good social communicator according to
journalism students and practicing journalists: a study from lexical
           availability

Journalists have a fundamental role in society as they oversee delivering pertinent, situated, timely, accurate and objective information in a readable way for a universal audience. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to know the vision that journalism students and journalists have regarding the qualities that a good social communicator must have in the exercise of their profession. The focus of this work is mixed, that is, qualitative and quantitative, and the analysis methodology is carried out through a lexical availability (LA) model in a sample of 104 participants, of which 52 are journalism students and 52 are journalists. The results obtained show that both students and journalists assign to a social communicator qualities associated with the value and affective domain, such as: honesty, responsibility, ethics, empathy and curiosity. The findings of this study reveal a professional conception close to the personal and value dimension over the thematic, theoretical, and technical one. Finally, considering this data, it is possible to direct the training itineraries of journalism students in order to strengthen the specialized aspects of the professional field to emphasize a disciplinary training that works jointly with theory and practice from an attitudinal approach.

  • Attitudes related to science in university students

• Digital native media The University Portal during covid-19 in Puno Peru

This research examined the news published by the digital native media El Portal Universitario in the social network Facebook in August 2020 during the first wave of contagion caused by the pandemic of covid-19 in Puno. The objective of the study was to analyze the use of cyberjournalistic genres and digital journalistic characteristics such as hypertextuality, multimediality, instantaneity and interactivity. The quantitative approach method was used with a descriptive-analytical non-experimental design. Two techniques were used: content analysis, which allows counting and tabulation from the parameters required by cyberjournalism in social networks, considering only those publications related to the health crisis, and the structured interview. After the analysis, it was determined that the pandemic context was unfavorable for El Portal Universitario, which had more than 370 thousand followers and transcended in the regional territory, by changing its editorial line of university affairs, to cover rather, regional information about the pandemic by covid-19. Not being a topic from a university informative perspective, it evidenced professional limitations in the quality of its contents, with ignorance of the characteristics of the digital native media, losing reach and influence of its publications in the followers.

  • Yupana or Inca abacus, 100 years (1912-2022): experiences and
possibilities of mathematics education in Latin America

Since the discovery of El Primer Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno by Guamán Poma in 1908 and the publication of the yupana in 1912, this calculation tool has been the subject of studies about its operation, from which experiences of application have been developed in mathematics education. Within this framework, the article aims to analyze the advances in terms of research and proposals developed on the yupana in the field of mathematics education, with the purpose of making visible new application and research possibilities. The technique used is the documentary review of reports, theses and scientific articles produced in Latin America. The results show that the effects of the yupana on the learning of basic operations have been extensively studied; however, the yupana has multiple potentialities, still unknown, that must be studied, such as its effectiveness in learning decimal, fractional, radical, integer numbers, matrices, logarithms, and vectors, even more so having developed digital models. It is suggested to implement and investigate the use of the yupana with the Radicati method in order to favor the development of formal thought.
