Abstract: In the last decade of the twentieth century, environmentalist Marcus Colchester (1997) in his book Guyana, Fragile Frontier: Loggers, Miners, and Forest Peoples argues impressively that developing countries such as Guyana suffer from the theory of regulation. Limited resources for biodiversity conservation are growing less adequate to meet conservation needs (Cardinale et al. 2012; Hooper et al. 2012; Pereira et al. 2010).
