Budaya Sunda dalam Pemertahanan Karakter Bangsa

    • Authors: Iis Ristiani
      Pages: 15 - 30
Abstract: INTISARI: Masyarakat Cianjur di Jawa Barat, Indonesia memiliki gerakan kebudayaan dengan memperkenalkan tujuh pilar budayanya. ABSTRACT: “Upholding the Cianjur Cultural Wisdom as an Effort to Strengthen Sundanese Language and Culture in Nurturing the Nation's Character”. Cianjur community in West Java, Indonesia has a cultural movement by introducing seven cultural pillars. The seven pillars of culture are: "Ngaos" (reading); "Mamaos" (reciting/singing); "Maenpo" (martial arts); "Tatanen" (farming); "Tangginas" (active/creative); and "Someah" (friendly/kind). This article – using a qualitative approach and literature study – tries to analyze the seven pillars of culture which are the local wisdom of the Cianjur community, especially by upholding Sundanese language and culture. Language and culture play an important role in the life and formation of national character. One thing that makes humans more noble, compared to other creatures, because humans are given reason, and also given advantages in language. In human life, so that communication runs well, people choose and use language according to their function. Language, as a communication tool, is used by humans to optimize their role as social creatures. Language is cultured. Both have a very close relationship. As a medium to express ideas, ideas, opinions, thoughts or feelings, the language used by someone reflects the person's thoughts and culture. Thus, language, culture, and character have a very big role for humans in carrying out their functions as social beings. For the people of Cianjur, preservation of language and culture is bound in the seven pillars of Cianjur culture.KEY WORD: Seven Pillars of Culture; Local Wisdom; Sundanese Language and Culture; Cianjur Community; National Character.About the Author: Dr. Iis Ristiani adalah Dosen Senior di UNSUR (Universitas Suryakancana) di Cianjur, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. • Pers dan Kritik Sosial pada Masa Orde Baru: Kasus PEMILU 1971 dalam
Pandangan Harian Kompas di Jakarta dan Harian Pikiran Rakyat di Bandung

    • Authors: Andi Suwirta
      Pages: 31 - 52
ABSTRACT: “The Press and Social Criticism during the New Order: 1971 Election in the Views of Kompas Daily in Jakarta and the Pikiran Rakyat Daily in Bandung”. The General Election in 1971 was an important event for the New Order government. In order to find and gain legitimacy of power, the New Order government tried to win the GOLKAR (Functional Group) in competing with other political parties in Indonesia. The ways that GOLKAR won in the 1971 General Election, set a precedent and continued with the next General Elections. When the press is critical of the New Order government, even GOLKAR's method of winning the General Election, it must face banning. This research – using historical methods, qualitative approaches, literature studies, and descriptive explanations – examines the news and views of the newspapers of “Kompas” in Jakarta and “Pikiran Rakyat” in Bandung in the face of the 1971 General Election in Indonesia. The results of the study showed that the two newspapers were, in general, supported the programs and policies of the New Order government, including the victory of GOLKAR in the 1971 General Election. If there were criticisms and views that were different from the New Order government, the two newspapers delivered it indirectly in a language that was moderate, vague, and did not offend the feelings of the New Order government which was in power.KEY WORD: The Press and Social Criticism; Newspapers of Kompas and Pikiran Rakyat; General Election of 1971; New Order Government.About the Author: Andi Suwirta, M.Hum. adalah Dosen Senior di Departemen Pendidikan Sejarah FPIPS UPI (Fakultas Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia), Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No.229 Bandung 40154, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. This study aims to determine the cause of a person being bisexual; and this happens to adults who already have a partner. This research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The Author also successfully interviewed 13 Respondents or Informants, bisexual people, aged between 30-65 years in big cities in Indonesia. By using phenomenological approach and descriptive explanation, the results of the study indicate that the bisexual phenomenon is caused by the parents' upbringing for their children; bad past experiences, such as sexual harassment or victims of sodomy; environmental influences that also shape them to be bisexual; and want to get more satisfaction with their sexual fantasies that are not found in their official partners. The study also found that social media contributed to exploring the buried desires of those who became bisexual; and a massage or sauna as a place for introductions to same-sex sexual relations. In the status of relationships between bisexuals there are two types, namely bisexuals who have a commitment to remain loyal to one partner of the same type; and bisexuals who have no commitment, in the sense of just having fun and often mutually in dealing with same-sex couples. The problem of bisexuals must be understood in depth, examined the causes and factors that influence it, and sought ways to overcome and wise solutions by policy makers in the fields of education, religion, social, health, and even state politics.KEY WORD: Bisexuals; Social Phenomena and Problematics; Parenting in Education.About the Author: Dr. Hamirul adalah Dosen STIA (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi) Setih Setio, Muara Bungo, Jalan Setih Setio No.5 Kelurahan Pasir Putih, Kecamatan Rimbo Tengah, Kabupaten Bungo 37214, Provinsi Jambi, Indonesia.
