  • The Materiality of Homeopathic Medicines. DynHom Research Program.

      Abstract: Background: Homeopathy is controversial because using highly dilute medicines (high homeopathic potencies, HHP) beyond the Avogadro/Loschmidt limit. Previous publications [1,2] using NMR relaxation revealed the involvement of nanobubbles and/or nanoparticles and/or nanometric superstructures in high potentizations. NTA demonstrated the presence of particles in HHPs [3,4]. With SEM-EDX [5] we observed an ionic diversity common to all preparations including HHPs and significant differences in the relative quantity of each ion between different homeopathic manufacturing lines and controls. FTIR spectroscopy [6] shows that the molecular composition is that of carbonates, primarily sodium bicarbonate. Methods: To observe the materiality of homeopathic medicines a multidisciplinary approach is necessary. In collaboration with several universities we are able to observe these medications with NMR, NTA, SEM-EDX, FTIR, pH and EPA. Results: The essential component of all already studied homeopathic medicines is sodium hydrogen carbonate modulated by some other elements in specific quantity, size and shape. The probability that the observed results could have occurred just by random chance can be rejected (especially above Avogadro limit) p < 0,001. Conclusions: The homeopathic medicines do contain material with a specific ionic composition even in HHPs diluted beyond the Avogadro/Loschmidt limit. This specificity can be attributed to the manufacturing process. These results demonstrate that the step-by-step process (dynamized or not) does not match the theoretical expectations in a dilution process. The starting material and dilution/dynamization method influences the nature of these NPs. The role of carbonates and sodium bicarbonate must be carefully studied in the future. Its aqueous solution is alkaline in nature but it is an amphoteric compound, which means that the compound has both acidic as well as alkaline character. The reaction with acids results in sodium salts and carbonic acid and reaction with basic solution produce carbonates and water. Specific electric fields are indeed detectable.

  • The Study of comparative efficacy of the phytotherapeutic complex against
           nematodes of mice

      Abstract: The purpose of the research is studying the efficacy of the phytotherapeutic , and homeopathic drug. Phytotherapeutic drugs have been widely used in parasitology for many years.  Also, homeopathic drugs such as Cina have anti-helmintic properties. The possibility of using phytotherapeutic and high dilutions drugs during in the treatment of nematodosis disease has been studied.  Two experimental parasitological disease models (aspiculuriosis and trichinelosis) were used. Trichinelosis is a common model of nematodosis of mice [1,2]. Aspiculuris tetraptera a pinworm of mice, is an important parasite in institutions with mice colonies for both research and teaching purposes. The infection is generally asymptomatic. This study aimed at to assess the protective efficiency of homeopathic drug such as Cina C6cH, sphagnum and its complex against experimental trichinosis and aspiculuriosis . An assay was carried out on 80 white outbred mice. These were divided into 6 groups of ten mice each. Group 1 and 4 had sphagnum q.s. per os; group 2 and 5 - desoldering dissolved in water Cina C6cH one time a day per os, the group 3 and 6 received complex sphagnum+ Cina C6cH one time a day per os. The groups 1-3 were inoculated with a dose of 80 ± 5 units of T. spiralis larva per mouse, groups 4-6 had spontaneous aspiculuriosis, group 7 had T. spiralis , group 8 had Aspiculuris tetraptera. After 60 days of trichinellosis incubation, process the mice were euthanized and dissected for evaluation. Maximum protection was obtained in the group of mice 3: T. spiralis detected larvae in animals was 650.5±25.1 larva/animal. Group N2 (Cina C6cH)  presented 2840.5±183.3 larva/animal. This was less than control group (4485±430.6 larva/mouse). Also groups 4-6 of mice with aspiculuriosis showed 75%, 80% and 86% efficacy against nematodes.

  • Immobilisation of Solvatochromic Dyes on Transparent Cellulose Films; an
           Improved Methodology for the Study of Homeopathic Potencies.

      Abstract: Abstract Background   Highly diluted and succussed solutions (homeopathic potencies) have been shown to interact with a wide range of solvatochromic dyes based on changes in their UV-visible spectra. Studies so far have involved free dyes in solution, but there is a pressing need to find ways to investigate the potency-dye interaction using isolated dye molecules in order to ask more searching physico-chemical questions regarding the fundamental nature of potencies. Aims and Methods   The aims of the present study have been to look for ways to covalently immobilise solvatochromic dyes onto transparent cellulose films and hence be in a position to investigate dye-potency interactions without the complication of dye-dye interactions, including dye aggregation, which can occur with free dyes in solution. Results   To date a total of nine different dyes have been immobilised on cellulose films using epoxide activation of hydroxyl groups on the cellulose surface. Using this methodology studies have begun looking at the time course of potency action on one of these immobilised dyes, Brooker’s merocyanine. Results show that the interaction of Arsenicum 10M with this dye consists of three phases – an initial growth phase, a sustained plateau of interaction and a final decline phase lasting several days.  Conclusions   A methodology has been developed that successfully immobilises solvatochromic dyes onto transparent cellulose film. These films can then be used in a spectrophotometer to study at a much more detailed level how potencies interact with dyes compared with using free dyes in solution. Results indicate that the information gained in this way provides new insights regarding the fundamental nature of potencies. Specifically, studies using immobilised Brooker’s merocyanine with Arsenicum 10M reveal that the lifetime of the potency is much longer than expected and that its action consists of three distinct phases, suggesting a resonant interaction with the dye.

  • Mercury chloride toxicity attenuation of the Brine Shrimp Artemia Salina
           after treatment with Mercurius corrosivus as isotherapic

      Abstract:   Isotherapics prepared from toxic substances have been described as attenuation factors for heavy metal intoxication in aquatic animals. Herein, Artemia salina and mercury chloride were used as a model to identify treatment-related bioresilience. The aim was to describe the effects of Mercurius corrosivus (MC) in different potencies on Artemia salina cyst hatching and on mercury bioavailability. Artemia salina cysts were exposed to 5.0 µg/mL of mercury chloride during the hatching phase. MC 6cH, 30cH, and 200cH were prepared and poured into artificial seawater. Different controls were used (nonchallenged cysts and challenged cysts treated with water, succussed water, and Ethilicum 1cH). Four series of nine experiments were performed for 4 weeks to evaluate the percentage of cyst hatching considering all moon phases. Soluble total mercury (THg) levels and precipitated mercury content were also evaluated. Solvatochromic dyes were used to check for eventual physicochemical markers of MC biological activity. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with mixed models was used for evaluating the effect of different treatments and the simultaneous influence of the moon phases on the cysts hatching rate, at both observation times (24 and 48 hours). When necessary, outliers were removed, using the Tukey criterion. The level of significance α was set at 5%. Significant delay (p<0.0001) in cyst hatching was observed after treatment with MC 30cH, compared with the controls. An increase in THg concentration in seawater (p<0.0018) and of chlorine/oxygen ratio (p<0.0001) in suspended micro-aggregates was also seen, with possible relation with mercury bioavailability. Specific interaction of MC 30cH with the solvatochromic dye ET33 (p<0.0017) was found. The other observed potencies of Mercurius corrosivus 6 and 200 cH were not significant in relation to the observed groups. The results were postulated as being protective effects of MC 30cH on Artemia salina, by improving its bioresilience.

  • Homeopathy and high dilutions in the context of water structure research:
           the experience in the 9th World Water Forum - 2022

      Abstract: Water plays a vital role in adapting natural and human systems in a climate change scenario. Understanding how this fundamental element of life is organized and functioning is essential to gather, disseminate, and advance knowledge about water at the micro and nanostructure level. With developments in the different research areas, the International Panel on Water Structure – IPWS was created during the 8th World Water Forum (WWF) of Brasília in 2018. Just as the Toronto Conference in 1986 was a milestone for the climate agenda to spark a process of the organization by the scientific community of what became the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - IPCC, the 8th World Water Forum held in Brasilia in 2018 became a milestone in the agenda of the micro and nanostructure of water. The IPWS connects leading researchers who develop research on water structure and related fields of knowledge and their most diverse applications from an interdisciplinary perspective. Since 2018, CIRAT – International Center on Water and Transdisciplinarity has been responsible for the executive secretary of the IPWS. In 2020 a partnership between CIRAT and WATER – a Multidisciplinary Research Journal has begun, intending to organize a special edition on Water and Transdisciplinarity to be launched during the 9th WWF, in Dakar, on March 24th, 2022. The whole project was organized by Prof. Leoni Bonamin, from Universidade Paulista, with the support of the Editor-in-Chief of this journal, Prof. Gerald Pollack, from Washington University at Seattle. This special edition aimed to disclose advanced knowledge about water at different structural levels, leading to a new understanding of water in response to the challenges of our century. The focus was on the cross-over of information with technical quality and bold thinking, as shown in Figure 1 below. Homeopathy was included among the themes. It was a multi-step process aiming to offer readers a sample of how frontier science can signal a very different and much more exciting future to the following generations than we usually expect. The objective was to gather scientific quality and allow the authors to propose and discuss hypotheses based on the literature. For this, the manuscripts were initially received, after personal invitations sent to more than 200 researchers in the field, whose contributions were evaluated in a pre-selection based on the scope of WATER. They then went through a thorough two-step peer review process. In the first stage, ad-hoc reviewers were invited to give their opinions. In the second stage, members of the Editorial Board carried out a new detailed analysis of the content to ensure maximum scientific understanding, allowing the authors to be bold in their projects while careful with the methodology. From the Board's organization to the design of the editorial flow and peer review, the entire process was carried out voluntarily by all the actors involved. Thus, the whole editorial process was philanthropic, there were no costs for the authors, and all articles were published as open access.
      Authors from five countries participated in this project: Brazil, India, Italy, Russia, and the United States. Given the multidisciplinary nature of this special edition, the sequence of articles was organized following a well-defined logic: from the broadest to the most specific topics, culminating in innovative proposals with the possibility of immediate application. For this, different sessions were organized according to the topics: "Opinion Article," "Hypotheses," "Water Structure," "High Dilutions," "Water and Environment," and "New Devices." Four of twelve articles reported results on high dilutions, including its physicochemical properties and the implications on biological systems, such as plants and aquatic animals [1-4]. This initiative inspired all to envision the possibility of offering practical solutions to old problems involving different ways of water management, which could reduce social gaps and improve the quality of life fairly and universally.   • Homeopathy Treatment of Malassezia Pachydermatis in vitro

      Abstract: A common clinical occurrence in dogs is otitis externa caused by excessive growth of yeasts
      Malassezia pachydermatis, which can become chronic after wrong treatments, in which microbial resistance can occur. Homeopathic remedies can be considered a successful alternative, selecting the medicine through the similitude principle. Herein, 50 µL of a 1:1000 dilution of Malassezia pachydermatis suspension at 0.5 McFarland scale was used to seed the yeast into Sabouraud dextrose agar plates using a Drigalski spreader to proceed with colony unit counting. Before being seeded, the yeast suspensions were treated with 1% of different homeopathic treatments previously selected from a pilot study, which means Sulphur 6cH, Dolichos pruriens 6cH, and Kali carbonicum 6cH, being water, and succussed water used as controls. For comparison, a set of Sabouraud dextrose agar plates containing 1% Tween 80 was seeded in parallel. The treatments were made blind and evaluated in triplicate. Contaminated cultures were withdrawn. The number of colonies per plate was assessed, and smears were made from the cultures to classify yeast growth according to cytomorphology on ImageJ® software. The preliminary results show no significant effect of all tested medicines compared to the controls. High data variability was also observed, mainly in those cultures whose medium was prepared with Twin 80. In conclusion, at this point of the study, no evidence of the effects of the studied medicines on Malassezia pachydermatis growth in
      vitro could be identified. The analysis of cytomorphology is still in course.

  • Effects of Homeopathic Preparations on Raphidiopsis raciborskii
           (Cyanobacteria) Toxicity in Artemia salina Model

      Abstract: Cyanobacteria are microorganisms found in different parts of the world. Some genera are cyanotoxins producers a sodium channel blocking neurotoxin (saxitoxins).            Some homeopathic preparations have been identified as a remedial action on toxicity models in Artemia salina. This step of the study aimed to observe whether homeopathic products influence the toxicity of Raphidiopsis raciborskii on A. salina. Thus, toxicity tests were carried out on cysts in 96-well plates, using different concentrations of the extract obtained from regular cultivation of R. raciborskii in HCl 0.05M. Then, a pilot study with 22 homeopathic preparations was tested blind in two experimental series against 3 controls check for possible attenuation of the toxicity on Artemia salina cysts hatching rate. The most significant results indicative of bioresilience improvement were seen after the treatment with Nitric acidum 6 cH, Plumbum metallicum 6 cH, isotherapic 200 cH, and Hydrochloric acid 1 cH, being the last one used as a vehicle of the extracts. Thus, these preparations were chosen to be used in the main toxicity experiment, performed blind, in sextuplicate, in two experimental series. All experiments were performed during the first quarter moon. Statistical analysis was performed by two-way ANOVA followed by Tukey, with α=0.05. Nitric acidum 6cH induced a significant reduction of hatching rate (p=0.03), and isotherapic 200cH caused a cyst behavior similar to the unchallenged group, being considered the maximum expression of bioresilience face to the exposition. Epigenetics tests are being carried out to reveal the specific mechanisms involved in these effects.

  • Physico-chemical and UV/VIS measurements of UHD solutions of water,
           potentized water and different potencies of organic substances

      Abstract: Introduction: Conventional science regards the study of UHD (highly homeopathically potentized) solutions as pseudo-science. However, an increasing number of rigorous scientific investigations demonstrate differences in physicochemical and physical characteristics of such solutions. Strictly chemically regarded, they correspond to highly distilled water. Our research team developed a system of physicochemical and UV spectrographic measurements, whereby the differences may be consistently confirmed with high statistical significance. Material and methods: For measurement of the physicochemical parameters, we used pH, electrical conductivity, and ORP sensors. For UV/VIS spectroscopy measurements, we used a Macherey-Nagel spectrophotometer. For UHD research, we used two batches of substances: Russian (R) and Brazilian (B). In R, distilled water (W) was used for dilutions and potencies as follows: potentized water (W cH9), potentized dilution of antibodies to interferon-gamma (Abs IFNγ cH9), the same original substance in the form of a mixture of potencies (Abs IFNγ cH12, cH30, cH50, shortly Abs IFNγ mix). Furthermore, we prepared higher potencies of the substances (supplementary potentiation) in a specially prepared solution and measured their characteristics. In B, the solution was used for further dilutions and potencies as follows: potentized water (W cH1) and Glyphosate potencies (Gly cH6 => cH8, cH30 => cH 32, and cH200 => cH 202). Results: UV-VIS spectroscopy (R): indirect measurements of liquids show statistically significant differences between all substances, except between water W and W cH9 at 260 nm. Physicochemical measurements: R: indirect measurements demonstrated statistical difference only in pH (Abs IFNγ mix towards all others). After potentiation, we obtained a more conspicuous picture with many statistical differences in conductivity and ORP. A difference between water and potentized water has also been demonstrated. B: the measurements demonstrated statistical differences mainly in pH between Gly cH8 and the rest and between Gly cH202 and W cH1. Conclusion: UV/VIS at wavelength 260 nm Abs IFNγ mix discloses a pattern similar to EZ water at 270 nm. By additional potentiation and with physicochemical measurements, we obtained higher statistical differences than in the original dilutions. In contrast, UV/VIS spectroscopy showed more conspicuous results without additional potentiation. However, the very act of succussion becomes very distinct.

  • High Dilution in Leukopenia treatment in Dogs

      Abstract: Background: Leukopenia is associated with the consumption of peripheral leukocytes, decreased production due to endotoxemia and septicemia, medullary hypoplasia, nutritional diseases or autoimmune reactions. In a case report by Narita et al, Echinacea angustifolia demonstrated the effectiveness of treatment of leukopenia in penguins. Aims: Report the evolution of homeopathic treatment in 5 dogs patients between 3 and 5 years old, presenting leukopenia. Methodology: The homeopathic treatment was chosen, based on the principle of similitude, using Echinacea angustifolia due to its immunostimulant action, that its evolution was analyzed by the blood test. The exposed information is consented by the tutors. Results: The same protocol was made for all of the patient, included 4 globules of Echinacea angustifolia 6 cH orally, every 12 hours for 30 days. The first dog attended on 07/21/2021, presented 4.000 leukocytes, which increased to 6.800 on 08/17/2021. The second patient attend on 12/07/2021 presented 4.700 leukocytes, increasing to 6.800 on 01/25/2022. The third patitent attended on 08/24/2021 presented 5.400 leukocyte, which increasing to 6.800 on 10/15/2021. The fourth patient presented 4.300 leukocytes on 01/13/2022, increasing to 5.500 on 02/11/2022. The fifth patient presented on 12/12/2021 4.600 leukocytes, increasing to 8.400 on 02/03/2022. Therefore, the mean of the first collection was 3.681 leukocytes and in the second there was a increased to 6.860 leukocytes (Mann Whitney, p= 0,0079). Conclusion: High dilution proves to be successful in the treatment of leukopenia without causing side effects.            Keywords: Homeopathy, Leukopenia, Immunity, Dogs.   • Hyperadrenocorticism Treatment with High Dilution – Case Report

      Abstract: Background: Hyperadrenocorticism is a common endocrinopathy in dogs, associated to an excessive production or administration of cortisol. Aims: Report the evolution of homeopathic treatment in hyperadrenocorticism of a yorkshire male dog with 10 years old, analyzing with basal and post-acth stimulation cortisol values. Methodology: Homeopathic treatment was chosen, based on the principle of similitude and because it is efficient and less harmful for the patient using Ignatia amara associated to cortisol biotherapy to inhibit cortisol production and adrenal biotherapy to stimulate the gland response. The exposed information is consented by the tutor. Results: The dog was in convencional treatment with trilostane but didn’t response to the therapy, showing 5,41 μg/dL of basal result and 11,8 μg/dL of post-acth result and the symptoms were worst on 12/12/2021, presenting lethargic, panting, more evident alopecia and severe muscle weakness which the patient unable to stand. Therefore, the protocol was recommended for 3 months, included 3 globules of Ignatia amara 30cH orally, every 12 hours, 3 globules of cortisol biotherapy 30 cH and also of adrenal biotherapy 6 cH every 24 hours for 30 days. On 03/28/2022 the basal and post-acth stimulation results was 3,71 μg/dL e 5,79 μg/dL respectively and the patient was more active, the skin was better and even with difficulty it was moving and having more independence. Conclusion: Homeopathic treatment with high dilution proved to be effective, keeping the indices with the recommended range of post acth between 2.0 and 5.0, confirming an adequate therapeutic monitoring and symptomatic improvement.   • Apocrine Gland Adenocarcinoma in a Persian Cat remission with homeopathic
           treatment: Case Report

      Abstract: Carcinomas de glândula acrircrina são neoplasias malignas raras que ocorrem em gatos. O tratamento disponível é cirúrgico, e geralmente recorrente [1,2] e, neste caso, levaria à ablação total do meatus acústico externo. Em dezembro de 2020, foi relatada uma consulta homeopática do felino, masculino, persa, 13 anos, histórico da doença, iniciada em 2015, somando seis recidivas dos processos tumorais nas pálpebras e formação recente no canal auditivo esquerdo. Análise histopatológica do adenocarcinoma acritorino. Intervenções cirúrgicas e aplicação de ácido tricloroacético para prevenir recidivas. No entanto, foram observadas formações remanescentes nas pálpebras e no canal auditivo. Tem uma forma arredondada enevada na pálpebra superior direita medindo 0,4 cm e a inferior de 0,2 cm, redonda. No canal auditivo esquerdo, cerca de 1,6 cm, além de 4 pontos espalhados nas dobras auditivas. O tratamento homeopático foi iniciado por dois meses com o álbum Arsênico 30 cH, duas vezes ao dia; Carcinosinum 200 cH, uma vez por dia, e complexo contendo Avena sativa 4 cH, Echinacea angustifolia 4 cH, Conium maculatum 6 cH, Thuja officinalis 6 cH e Silicea terra 6 cH, quatro vezes ao dia. A cada dois meses, o quadro era reavaliado, poderes e frequências reajustados. Em poucos meses, houve remissão completa do tumor, recuperação do bem-estar e melhora no humor e apetite. O termo de consentimento livre e informado foi assinado. Não houve recidiva de tumores e cistite até março de 2022. Este estudo mostrou-se eficaz, documentado com fotos e exames. Abordar um caso raro pode fornecer uma nova possibilidade terapêutica. A credibilidade dos relatos de casos homeopáticos de qualidade vem aumentando devido às exigências metodológicas utilizando ferramentas desenvolvidas em estudos recentes. Tais critérios acabam extinguindo relatórios por não atingirem alta qualidade devido a variáveis não controláveis pelo pesquisador.

  • Silicea terra 200cH evaluated by two different spectroscopy methods: a
           pilot study

      Abstract: Abstract Spectroscopy has been shown to be a useful method to study the physicochemical properties of homeopathic preparations. In this pilot study, the aim was to compare two methods (photon scattering and visible-light spectroscopy) in the physical evaluation of Silicea terra 200cH. Two samples have been examined and compared: Silicea terra 200cH and Sac lac 200cH, both prepared in aqueous solution (Cemon Lab, Italy). Lactose was included because the first 3 potencies of Silicea terra are made by trituration in lactose. In the first test, performed in Italy, slight variations in chrominance and luminance due to micro-vibrational 3D phenomena were analyzed. The principle of the experimental procedure is to modify and analyse the incidence and refraction angles of the light hitting the bottles of liquid under examination. Measurements were made using an innovative camera device developed by Daniele Gullà, called MIRA/CORA (proprietary name). The image sensor is a Charge-Coupled Device (CCD)/ Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) with interferential matrix filter. A red laser beam, at wavelength 652 nm, hits the bottle and the variations of scattered light are recorded and measured by the device. All measurements have been performed in a dark room at a constant temperature of 22°C +/- 0,2°C using a filter with very narrow spectral bands (10 nm). Proprietary software analyses the incoming frames showing the spectral variations in amplitude and frequency and then interpolates variation in the measured data within a vibrational range between 0.01 Hz and 10 Hz. The measurements have been repeated three times on both Silicea terra 200cH and Sac lac 200cH within a few minutes of each other. Measurements of the mean entropy of the signals, statistically elaborated with T Student test, yielded a two tailed p value < 0.05, where the entropy of the signal recorded from the Silicea terra 200cH sample was statistically lower than the 200cH Sac lac sample. In the second test, performed in Brazil, variations in absorbance were used to identify Silicea terra 200cH compared with Sac lac 200cH and a control solution of non-succussed 30% alcohol, using six solvatochromic dyes, following the method developed by Cartwright [1,2]. Both homeopathic samples were imported from Italy, diluted 1:100 in 30% hydro-alcoholic solution, and submitted to 100 succussions using an automatic mechanical arm (Denise, AUTIC, Brazil) prior to being tested. Samples were inserted into dyes solutions in a 1:60 ratio, and evaluated by visible spectroscopy (FEMTO Spectrophotometer, Brazil). Dyes were prepared in ethanol P.A., according to previous established methods [3]. Samples and dyes were protected from light during the manipulation and environmental conditions of the laboratory (temperature, humidity, and magnetic flux) were monitored during the tests. Three series in triplicate were performed and the results were analyzed by ANOVA / Tukey, comparing both samples and the unsuccussed 30% hydroalcoholic control solution. Among all tested dyes, only BDN showed an interaction with Silicea terra 200cH, reproducing the conclusions obtained in [3]. We conclude that two different spectroscopic methods were able to differentiate Silicea terra 200cH from Sac lac 200cH, suggesting that changes in solvent organization could be involved in the homeopathic signaling process, along with changes in dipole moments of solvent and dyes. The results are potentially in line with a recent published paper [4], that supports the proposition that the lower entropy of the verum signal compared with controls could be explained by increased coherent vibrations of the verum sample, modulated by Nambu-Goldstone bosons. According to Del Giudice and colleagues [5], coherent behaviors are correlated with massless quasi-particles, coding ordering information.

  • Arsenicum album as a treatment for pneumonia in snakes: serial cases

      Abstract:   Abstract Introduction: two Python bivittatus were received at Project Selva Viva, zoo in Taubaté, Brazil, both presented respiratory noises and oro-nasal discharge. In view of the fact, a thoracic ultrasonographic examination was performed for evaluation on February 25, 2022, which diagnosed the presence of multiple vertical hyperechoic artefacts emerging from the pleural line, coalescing in some of the fields evaluated, and the presence of a hypoechoic structure located in the subpleural region. Another serpent, a species of Boa constrictor, arrived in same zoo, unhistorical individual, collected from an apprehension, showed a low body score and during a thoracic ultrasonographic evaluation, carried out on April 1, 2022, was also found to have B waves emerging from the line pleural. Methodology: Authorized story, by responsible of zoo. In all the patients, homeopathic therapy was initiated with 2 globules of Arsenicum album 30 cH/BID, after diagnosis of the respiratory condition by ultrasonographic examination, the medication was chosen through the similarity with the symptoms. Accompaniment with ultrassoms of Python bivittatus foram carried out weekly for accompaniment of the respiratory picture. Results: On March 04, it was observed that both coils showed a reduction in respiratory noise and were more active. Ars 30 cH was maintained BID. On March 25, both presented significant improvement in ultrasound, which made visible only lines A, compatible with a healthy lung, in both individuals and the treatment was suspended. The treatment of the Boa constrictor was started on April 1. On April 8, ultrasonographic examination was performed, which only observed lines A, indicating improvement of the picture. Conclusion: Given these results, it is considered that the homeopathic treatment is an option to be considered not treating the respiratory condition in snakes, however, there is variation in the duration of the therapy through the stage and chronicity of the disease.

  • Formation of Self-organized Structures in Drying Droplets: a Promising
           Analytical Tool for Homeopathy Basic Research

      Abstract: The droplet evaporation method (DEM) is based on the evaporation-induced pattern formation in droplets and is applied mainly for diagnosis [1]. Here, we present a series of experiments performed by our team showing DEMs potential also for homeopathy basic research, in particular, for the investigation of (i) low potencies, (ii) low potency complexes (physical model), and (iii) the action of high potencies (plant-based model).
      DEM differentiated significantly between Luffa, Baptisia, Echinacea, and Spongia until 4x [2]. Furthermore, the patterns varied in function of the number of succussion strokes (0, 10, or 100) applied during potentization [3]. The performance of chaotic succussions vs. laminar flow vs. slight mixing during the potentization of Viscum album quercus 3x influenced the DEM patterns; the chaotic succussions reduced, whereas laminar flow enhanced the patterns complexity vs. the unsuccussed control.
      The addition of Mercurius bijodatus 9x to Luffa 4x changed significantly the DEM patterns, even if the material quantity present in the 9x potency lied far beyond that of ultrapure water.
      Leakages obtained by placing healthy or damaged wheat-seeds into Arsenicum album 45x or Zincum metallicum 30c vs. water created significantly different DEM structures [4, 5]. The damaged seeds put into the potency created structures characterized by a higher complexity than those obtained from damaged seeds put into control water. Furthermore, the potency action seemed to correlate positively with the number of succussion strokes applied during potentization, as could be shown by means of DEM patterns and germination rate using the same wheat-seed model [6]. In all our studies, the pattern evaluation was computerized or based on deep-learning algorithms and the robustness of the experimental system was checked by means of systematic control experiments. DEM together with other similar methods has also been reviewed by our team for what concerns the application in homeopathy basic research [7].

  • High Dilutions of Drugs show Distinct Variation from each other in their
           Electronic Spectra

      Abstract: Drugs at high dilution (HD) produce therapeutic effect on man, animals and plants. Experimental evidence shows that free water molecules and hydrogen bond strength of OH groups constitute the physical basis of HDs which are otherwise devoid of original drugs molecules. HDs are produced in aqueous EtOH   by serial dilution of a substance with mechanical agitation or succussion in each step, and are called potencies. Three potencies 6 cH, 12 cH and 30 cH of two drugs Anacardium orientale and Natrum muriaticum (NaCl) and their mother tincture (MT) are used in this study. Electronic spectra of these MTs and potencies, all in 90% EtOH, were taken in the wavelength region of 190 nm – 350 nm. The objective is to find out any additional physico-chemical entities in potencies besides the aforesaid two factors. It was reported earlier that charge transfer (CT) interaction accompanies potentization of drugs. This study focused on the CT interaction. The results indicate that spectral pattern and absorbance intensities of the test samples vary from each other. Potentization involves CT interaction in consecutive potencies. Water and EtOH do not form a homogeneous mixture and have aggregates of EtOH and water molecules. CT interactions occur in these individual aggregates and are mostly inter molecular within EtOH or water. These aggregates vary from each other in the test samples. It is concluded that water and EtOH aggregates and their relative distribution constitute additional phyco-chemical basis of potencies.

  • Update from the Clificol Project: Omicron in Hong-Kong and worldwide
           overview of the pandemic

      Abstract: Background: The Clificol® COVID-19 Support Project is an innovative international data collection project aimed at documenting the presenting symptoms, use of homeopathy through the pandemic and tackling some of the core questions in homeopathy. Aims: The Covid-19 pandemic raised many questions and mobilised many resources. In order to make good use of resources, sound knowledge of the presenting complaints and demographics are required. In particular, we aimed to characterise the recent Omicron wave in Hong-Kong and to get an overall picture of the global pandemic as experienced by the homeopathic community. Methodology: This online multi-national data-collection project is supported by the ECH, ECCH, ICH, HRI, LMHI, and other professional associations. The collected data includes demographic information, severity, conventional diagnosis and treatment, presenting symptoms as well as the remedies prescribed. The outcome of treatment was tracked using the ORIDL scale. More recently a 23-items prospective questionnaire was added to the input in order to gather targeted data about the presenting complaints. Results and discussion: The recent wave of the Omicron variant in Hong-Kong, was analysed (N=372 cases) in terms of the symptomatology of this variant. The data from the 23-items questionnaire is compared to the longer questionnaire (150 items) used by the Hong-Kong team (21 practitioners). The most frequently reported common Clinical symptoms were extreme tiredness (60%), sore throat (46%), headache during fever (45%), dryness of mouth (37%), poor appetite (37%), runny nose (34%) and unusual muscle pains (31%). Also, the cases collected from around the world over the course of the pandemic (N=1300) were analysed, providing an overall picture of the pandemic and its specificities per country and over time. Conclusions: Clificol has shown and continues to show the value of data collection for the homeopathy community, providing important information for the management of future pandemics and opening new avenues for research in homeopathy.

  • The use of speckle laser to identify canopy variations in plants subjected
           to ultra-high diluted substances

      Abstract: The reaction of plants to ultra-high dilute substances (UHD) is well known, however, the signaling of the immediate effect still doesn't have a widely accepted methodology. The objective of this experiment was to use non-destructive sampling to find signs of UHD soon after application to plants. The control consisted of untreated purslane [Pilea microphylla (L.) Liebm] plants and imaged with a digital camera Mobius (CMOS 1270x720 pixels) directed at a laser beam (±680 nm) emitted over the plant canopy for 220 seconds, with 6-second intervals. Then, the same plants were treated with Fluoricum acidum 30CH (Fl. ac. 30), and ten minutes later, new images of the leaves were taken to verify the possible existence of reaction patterns of the plants generated by Biospeckle Laser (1,2).  Several types of imaging were performed to choose the image pattern, and the NIR type was chosen, generated by the Mobius camera connected directly to a laptop. The images were treated using the THSP algorithm, which generated data to compare the variation of pixel intensity with and without the presence of UHD. Research has shown that "Fl. ac. 30" is identified in purslane plants soon after application and this sign persists for at least 180 minutes after application, with a significant difference from the control at the 1% probability level.   • Veterinary Biotypology – a Review and new possibilities

      Abstract: Background: The truths surrounding medical practices are seasonally challenged by innovative concepts that can aggregate changing procedures in many degrees. The Galtonian eugenics issues supported the pure-breed idea in dictatorial governments, and introduced mesological studies, turning possible to join genetic concepts to the physiology and psychology of the human organism. Following human medicine, more therapeutic models need to forthcoming in domestic animals. The companionship necessity and the highly responsive behavior have addressed the domestication of dogs and their relationship to owners, to an endpoint that both share the same pathologies. Thus, traditional human concepts of biotypology could be extended to companion animals. Grauvogl (1811-1877) proposed a simple biochemical correlation between physiological states and the miasmas of sick individuals (oxygenoid - syphilis, hydrogenoid - sycosis, carbo-nitrogenoid - psora). Antoine Nebel (1870-1954) correlated biochemical status with the musculoskeletal system and the behavior as well. Leon Vannier (1880-1963) model, whose morphophysiological distortions and behavioral inconsistencies were explained by the carbon element and variations in its bonds with phosphorus or fluor radicals was another attempt to categorize and predefine physiology states. Following the advent of structural and functional identification of thyroid hormone in the 1940s, Henri Bernard described the neuro-morphofunctional plasticity of individuals guided by their predominant embryonic leaflet and consequent hormonal diseases. Methods: This work is a narrative review with the purpose of describing and discussing the legacy from biotypology studies and their applicability in dog therapy, and to propose a new homeopathic approach in veterinary medicine based on the miasmas, also contributing to the scarce available literature. Results: Based on cellular exchanges and consequent metabolic rate, animals can be classified into psoric (no evidence of clinical signs, stable behavior, and adequate exonerative cellular processes); sycotic (cellular dysfunction with alterations in oxidative phosphorylation processes allowing accumulation of cellular toxins such as reactive oxygen and nitrogen species; clinically culminating in chronic inflammations in noble organs, and purulent discharges; unstable and polarized behavior) and syphilitic (whose cellular alterations have reached the molecular level, reducing protein expression and determining cellular toxicity and loss of function; indifferent behavior). Generalities such as temperature influence, weight, thirst and feeding shall also be considered. Discussion and Conclusion: This model could benefit stray animals, newly adopted or even from shelters, whose actual behavior is unknown, and the search for the Simillimum may be impaired.
