Abstract: ANALYSIS OF SCIENTIFIC HABITS OF MIND ENERGY ISSUES INVENTORY (SHOMEII) INSTRUMENT: RASCH MODELAbstractScientific Habits of Mind (SHOM) is a thinking characteristic that individuals have in solving problems and making decisions. SHOM can be accomplished in learning such as physics education through discussion, debate, and issue-based learning. However, the instrument for measuring SHOM in physics education is still immature. The purpose of this research is to develop and identify the quality of the SHOM instrument with energy problems analyzed using Model Rasch. This instrument is known as the Scientific Habits of Mind Energy Issue Inventory (SHOMEII). The development was carried out with the 3D+1I model (defining, designing, developing and implementing), involving 280 high school students with an average age of 17 years and came from West Java, Indonesia. The instruments used were a validation sheet and a SHOMEII consisting of 22 items with 4 answer choices based on the level of confidence. The results of the analysis show that SHOMEII has excellent reliability, good validity, and varying levels of difficulty. Therefore, SHOMEII can be implication as an instrument to measure students' SHOM abilities in physics education. Abstract: ANALISIS SIKAP SISWA TERHADAP STEM BERDASARKAN GENDER DAN TINGKATAN KELAS: STUDI KOMPARASI INDONESIA DAN THAILANDAbstractAttitude is a tendency to behave and react to a given stimulus. The smoothness of STEM learning involves students, one of which is students' attitude towards STEM. Students at the junior high school level are a transitional period from children to adolescents who are not yet considered adulthood. Besides that, there is behavior stereotypical in male and female students during learning. This research was conducted to analyze students' attitudes towards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia and Thailand in terms of grade level and gender. The research method used is descriptive quantitative using a survey. This study used the STEM questionnaire distributed to 139 students in Thailand and 90 students in Indonesia. Data were collected using a questionnaire about students' attitudes towards STEM and interview protocols for science teachers. Analysis of student attitudes, which focused on self-confidence, enjoyment, interest, and anxiety, showed that these attitudes were more dominant among students at the highest grade level in both countries. However, there is no significant difference between the attitudes of male and female students in Indonesia and Thailand; both are the same in responding to STEM learning.

Abstract: IDENTIFIKASI MISKONSEPSI SISWA MENGGUNAKAN UJI ISOMORFIK: KASUS HUKUM NEWTON TENTANG GERAKAbstractStudents' misconceptions can lead to learning failure if they are not addressed. In this study, using Google Form, we identify students’ misconceptions using the isomorphic test method on Newton's Law of Motion, especially the principles of dynamics. This study is quantitative research conducted in three junior high schools in South Tangerang. There are 90 participants involved that was selected by purposive sampling method. The research instrument was an isomorphic test in form of multiple choice with nine questions with three indicators namely: analyzing the application of Newton’s I law in daily life; analyzing the correlation between force and mass and the acceleration of a moving object; and analyzing the application of Newton’s III Law in daily life. The results showed that the students were identified as having misconceptions in Newton’s Law concept using isomorphic tests, including misconceptions of inertia and misconceptions of Newton’s Third Law of Motion. One of the misconceptions is that students assume an object will maintain its initial position in motion by applying a new force in the opposite direction. The students' misconceptions found in this study can be used as a reference so that they can be overcome in the learning process.

Abstract: ANALISIS UJIAN AKHIR KIMIA BERDASARKAN KOMPLEKSITASKOGNITIF TAKSONOMI BLOOMAbstractSchool exams has been used by teachers to determine the success of students’ learning. This research is aimed to determine the extent of students learning through an analysis of end-of-year exam items based on Bloom’s cognitive complexity. The exam instruments are gathered from chemistry teachers of 5 public schools, consisting of in total 190 5-multiple-choice items. Qualitative approach and theory-driven content analysis method using Bloom’s revised taxonomy of cognitive complexity were employed in the research.  The result of this research showed that the majority of items (82.7%) determined students learning lower order cognitive skills (remember, understand, and apply). Skill of the analysis is the only higher order cognitive skill that has been found in the exam questions (17.3%). With regards to knowledge dimension, it was found that conceptual knowledge weighed the most among other dimensions (54.7%). It is interesting to see, however, that, the highest procedural knowledge was seen in the application skills (27.9%).  This research suggests that chemistry teachers need to carefully determine exam questions according to the cognitive complexity in order to ensure the extent of students learning. For curriculum developer, this research can be used to consider the depth of students’ learning outcomes as they serve as the foundation for exam development. Further research can be done to determine the gap between the exams and the expected learning outcomes. This will be beneficial to understand the extent to which schools can go higher than the minimun learning outcomes determined by the government.
