  • Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) Purification of CqMSRA5.1 Prokaryotic Protein,
           Sulfoxide Reductase (MSR) Gene CqMSR5.1 in Osmotic Stress Response

      Abstract: Located in chloroplast. The vitro enzymatic property verification CqMSRA5.1 can specifically reduce type methionine sulfoxide and belongs to MSRA family. Arabidopsis wild type Col 0, CqMSRA5.1 transformed Arabidopsis overexpression line and msra5 Arabidopsis mutant were used as materials to carryout phenotypic experiments of simulated osmotic stress treatment and soil drought treatment. The above results showed CqMSRA5.1. Enhance the resistance of Arabidopsis to osmotic stress by regulatcan enhance the resistance of Arabidopsis to osmotic stress by regulating the balance of the balance of ROS. The interaction protein of MSRA5 was predicted and analyzed by bioinformatics technology. Glutathione synthase 2 (GSH2) was predicted as the potential interaction protein of MSRA5. Yeast two hybrid experiment and two molecule fluorescence complementary experiment confirmed that quinoa glutathione synthase 2 gene (GSH2) and CqMSRA5.1 was interacted with each other. Through protein simulation binding analysis, it is found that the specific region of interaction is met residue 193 of CqGSH2. The pharmacological phenotype experiment with GSH specific inhibitor BSO showed that BSO could significantly inhibit CqMSRA5.1. The above CqMSRA5.1and CqGSH2 interact structurally.

  • Identification of the Anti-Atherosclerotic Properties of Benzoinum through
           Integrative Network Pharmacology and Pharmacological Analyses

      Abstract: Benzoinum is a resin derived from Styrax tonkinensis bark that has long been used in clinical settings as a traditional Chinese medicine with cardioprotective properties. The mechanistic basis for these pharmacological properties, however, remains to be demarcated. We used a network pharmacology approach to characterise the mechanism of action that benzoinum used to treat AS. The PharmMapper database was used to find potential benzoin target proteins, and the TCMSP, CTD, TTD, GAD, drug Bank, and pharmGkb databases were used to identify AS-related target genes. Following assessments of pathway enrichment, the functional roles of these genes were discovered, allowing the creation of compound-target and target-pathway networks. HUVEC cells were then used to validate these predicted benzoinum-related mechanisms of action, revealing that an active derivative of this resin was able to modulate signaling activity in TNF-α-exposed HUVECs by regulating the caspase-9 and NF-κB signaling pathways. Overall, our predictive network pharmacology analyses and supporting data highlighted the potential mechanisms whereby benzoinum may exert cardiovascular activity in the context of AS.

  • The Effect of Bougainvillea spectabilis Leaf Extract on Polycystic Ovary
           Syndrome (PCOS) in Rat Model

      Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder that affects females of reproductive age. Clomiphene citrate (CC) is used as a first line treatment for induction of ovulation in PCOS patients. Bougainvillea spectabilis is a Phytochemicals containing plant used as herbal medicine in treating PCOS. The study was aimed to compare the efficacy of Clomiphene citrate and Bougainvillea spectabilis extract against PCOS in rats. Estradiol valerate was used for PCOS induction in all rats except control group. Normal estrous cycle was detected using vaginal smear method. Thirty young female rats were divided into five groups: 1. Control group. 2. Positive control group (0.2ml EV) 3. CC group (20mg CC). 4. BSL group (20mg of BSL extract in 0.5ml water). BSL+ CC group (20mg of CC and 20mg of BSL extract). Biochemical measurements of serum levels of LH, FSH, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone showed a significant change after treatment (p value < 0.05). Combined therapy group showed most promising results in restoring the normal hormonal balance (p value < 0.05). Histological investigation showed multiple cystic follicles in positive control group. Few cystic follicles were observed in BSL group while one cystic follicle was observed in CC group. The combined therapy group showed no cystic follicle in ovaries of the rats. Significant improvement in hormonal and histological observation was seen in combined therapy group suggesting this combination as an effective treatment against polycystic ovary syndrome.

  • Application of Sludge in a Chinese Cabbage (Brassica Campestris ssp.
           Chinesis) and Chicken Manure on Grain Protein Concentration, Grain
           Essential Amino Acid Concentration in Shanxi Province China

      Abstract: The Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris ssp. chinesis) experimental base of Shanxi agricultural in Shanxi Province, China. Organic fertilizer was the main plot, 0 and 1.5 t/ha (Chicken mature Organic fertilizer). Five treatments were set up ① Control CK (0g sludge + 0g chicken manure) ② Organic fertilizer "H0" level (sludge + chicken manure 0g) ③ "H1" level of organic fertilizer (sludge + organic fertilizer 60 g/kg) ④ "H2" level of organic fertilizer (sludge + organic fertilizer 120 g/kg) ⑤ Organic fertilizer "H3" level (sludge + organic fertilizer 180 g/kg), 4 replicates. The results showed that plant height, root length, aboveground dry weight and underground dry weight of Chinese cabbage increased firstly and then decreased in latosol, red soil and calcareous brown soil. The growth and biomass of Chinese cabbage in the three soils ranged from large to small, red soil. The contents of Cu and Zn in edible parts of Chinese cabbage in three soils showed an increasing trend. The enrichment coefficients of Cu and Zn in Chinese cabbage are quite different, and the enrichment coefficients of Zn are larger than that of Cu, both of which are less than 1. The content of organic matter in latosol, red soil and calcareous brown soil increased, and the average content of organic matter in each experimental treatment was from large small. The total Cu and Zn contents and available state contents in the three soils showed an increasing trend. The average Cu content of each treatment was red soil> calcareous brown soil> latosol, and the average Zn content was red soil. The condition of chicken manure, the content of essential amino acids was basically equal to that of non-essential amino acids, which increased the accumulation of essential amino acids in grains, inhibited the accumulation of non-essential amino acids in grains, promoted the balance of amino acids in grains, and thus improved the nutritional quality of Chinese cabbage.

  • Ultra-processed Foods Containing Children’s Marketing: Packaging
           Analysis and Nutrition Labeling

      Abstract: Increased incidence of overweight and obesity globally may contribute to practical foods use, which are represented by unbalanced nutritional value and empty calories. This study amid to analyze and compare ultra-processed foods (UPF) aimed at children with those not aimed at this population. This quantitative analytical study was based on information contained in UPF packaging, from supermarkets in medium-sized countryside in Brazil. Children's products had own brand characters in 71.7% of analysis, claiming to be “vitamins source” and “minerals source” (23.0% and 10.4%, respectively). Nutritional value to 100/g of products aimed at children has more carbohydrates, while those not intended have more protein and total fat. Comparing daily caloric value percentage to package for age group and sex of children, pre-teens and adolescents, showed average values of energy, carbohydrate, protein, and sodium with significantly increased percentages for all groups, with exception of dietary fiber (p
