Shah Latif’s major subjects are Toheed, and Risalat, apostleship, and he spread them by means of Sufism and Tariqat. The first Chapter of Shah Jo Risalo is ‘Sur Kalyaan’ which reflects the oneness of Allah. This study concludes that the focused subject matter of the both great poets is Sufism where we see the concept of self-discovery and introspection.

  • Makhdoom Mohammad Moin's Cult on Mystical Melody

    • Authors: Dr. Muhammad Anas Rajpoot, Dr. Anayat Ullah Bhatti
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to highlight different shades of opinions and views held by various intellectuals, fiqahs, and Sufis of varying ages or eras regarding music and Mehfl-e-Sama. In this regard, the study focuses on MukhdoomMuhamadMoeenThatvi, the great scholar of his age and his views concerning Sama. The paper aims at highlighting his inclination or leanings towards the order or school of thought he belonged to. It is pertinent to mention here that he was deeply impressed by the way the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai treated music and Samaa, which is a means of meditating on God through melodies and dancing. Trance or ecstasy is the likely result of Samma, but it never resorts to indecency and sinful activities. Our religion condemns every music that leads to the fulfillment of satanic temptations or carnal desires.Impressed by the views of Shah Abdul Karim and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, the views of Mukhdoom Muhammad MoeenThathvi are quite obvious. A great religious scholar of his stature treats music as a rich source of spiritual pleasure and upliftment. He does not find music or samaa sinful or offensive as long as it does not lead people to commit sin. This research paper enlightens the readers about how our saints and religious scholars take the music of their time, showing both negative and positive aspects of music in every age.

The perception of race is one of the most thought-provoking themes to write about when discussing and analyzing American literature. It is also a topic that is recurring in the academic field. Why are scholars so interested in writing about how Americans have perceived race throughout their history as a people' Is it merely because it is peculiar and unlike how it has been perceived elsewhere' Is it because they believe there is a moral argument to be made' Some righteous, rectitudinous lessons to be learned and taught in order never to reproduce past horrors' To sum things up, the study has tried to answer questions related to race and racism in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men in particular, and in African American Literatiure in general.

           Translation of Bulleh Shah’s Poetry

    • Authors: Mehvish Riaz
Abstract: English as an international language is an immensely impeccable instrument to introduce any literature to the world. Punjabi mystic poetry has been translated to apprise the global audience with the belief system and message of the Punjabi mystic poets. The study aims at doing a stylistic analysis of English translation of the poetry created by the renowned Punjabi mystic poet Baba Bulleh Shah. The stylistic features of 21 poems, translated by Kartar Singh Duggal have been analyzed based on deviation and repetition as foregrounding devices on phonological, lexical, syntactic, and semantic levels in specific, and phonological rhyming, choice of diction, and semantic implications in general. Types of deviation suggested by Leech (1969) inform the analysis. Results show that grammatical and semantic deviation can be found on a large scale. Repetition on the lexical, syntactic, and phonological levels can also be found. Lexical deviation in the form of code-mixing can be found on a small scale. Moreover, the poems are rich in themes that are specific to the spiritual, as well as practical life of human beings.
