  Abstract: In their introduction to the inaugural issue of this journal in the spring of 2014, the founding editors Ulrich Marzolph and Regina Bendix introduced "narrative culture" as a concept that both defines the scope of the journal and envisions an interdisciplinary, international field of study.   Abstract: "Time is strange," "time has stopped," "the world has stopped," "time is out of joint," "a strange situation," "a weird period," "an odd year," "a year where normal life was on hold"—"Alas, it is corona times." All these articulations from the spring of 2020 express how, during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark, the usual order of everyday time had been destabilized.   Abstract: Inside a former grain factory in Visoko, a Bosnian city about an hour's drive northwest of Sarajevo, astonishing artwork covers crumbling walls. The building is dark and cool, smelling of dust and debris; most of the windows are smashed, and the floor is littered with chunks of plaster and brick. On each level, accessed by partially collapsed stairs or ladders, striking images of faces on the walls appear somehow both out of place and perfectly suited to their surroundings. The artists who have created this unconventional gallery comprise the HAD Collective—so named for Muhamed "Hamo" Beslagic, Anel Lepic, and Damir Sarac. That taken-for-granted photograph, a snapshot of the two of us as teens—far too young to be at my brother's party—was suddenly so important. Because she was gone. And with her (so I thought), all her stories—the narrative of those years when we were inseparable.Losing my friend also signified a certain loss of the way I understand myself, or rather, who I was.   Abstract: This account of the marble-carving artisans of Pietrasanta, Italy, explores familiar assumptions about artisan time through an examination of multiple, intersecting temporalities including geologic, historical, political, cultural, and technological time. Artisan practices are often relegated to the past, are understood to coexist more or less uncomfortably with the present, and are not even imagined as existing in the future.
