The goal of this study is to investigate the linguistic representation of women within ChatGPT’s generated texts as compared with that of texts written by human beings. To this end, we examine the form and frequency of use of three types of anthroponyms referring to women (Giorgia Meloni, Meloni, la Meloni) through an analysis of biographical texts automatically generated by GPT-3.5 and published on Wikipedia. The analysis is conducted using a corpus created specifically for this investigation, which includes biographies related to 34 prominent female personalities. The results obtained show that there are substantial differences in how the biographies generated by ChatGPT and those published on Wikipedia relate to women. One of the most interesting outcomes concerns the lower frequency of use of anthroponyms of the type la Meloni in the generated biographies. This finding opens important questions both about the factors explaining the data found and about the role that the generated texts might play in the future on the structure of contemporary Italian.

           diversi generi testuali

    • Authors: Daria Evangelista, Giulia Tonani
      Pages: 21 - 37
The present paper aims to study the litotes, a figure of speech that is the negation of the opposite of what one wants to express, and to analyse what functions displays the litotes according to the textual type: the analysis was therefore carried out on very different textual types, that is, on prescriptive texts (such as laws, ordinances and sentences) and informative texts (such as press releases, press conferences and newspaper articles). The functions of this figure of speech, in fact, are traditionally associated only to the modulation of the illocutionary force, namely hedging and boosting; however, the litotes can also have an ironic function – little studied so far –, through which a content is communicated with the intention of making the opposite point of view emerge more strongly. The study of different textual genres has therefore allowed us to show a wider range of functions than the ones usually associated with the litotes, and to highlight the decisive role that cotext and context play in determining the function of the figure of speech.

           discorso specialistico"

    • Authors: Veronica Bagaglini
      Pages: 38 - 67
Abstract: L’articolo propone un’analisi qualitativa della divulgazione linguistica in italiano su Instagram. The paper offers a qualitative analysis of linguistic disclosure in Italian on Instagram. The study compares four pages dedicated to linguistic content, two managed by individual users and two managed by experts, considering written language use (with a particular focus on textuality) and their topics. The analysis aimed to assess conformity and novelty concerning trends already observed in other studies on disclosure across various media (television, radio, websites). Despite limited space that does not allow in-depth exploration, the results reveal that linguistic dissemination on Instagram addresses some of the shortcomings identified in previous research: an increment of interest towards disciplinary epistemology and a conscious use of the richness of digital tools.

The first objective of this paper is to analyze the language of Song 'e Napule (Manetti Bros., 2013): what are the varieties or codes filmed in it, what are the roles that they assume within it and in the construction of the identity that the film narrates starting from the title itself. As often happens, the act of investigation has opened a new question and sought in Song ‘e Napule the places where the filmic language appropriates comics as a directorial and expressive tool.

  • One Piece transmediale: continuità e discontinuità lessicali nel
passaggio tra manga, anime e live action

    • Authors: Carolina Tundo
      Pages: 105 - 123
More than a quarter of a century has passed since the release of the first volume of One Piece, the manga created by Eiichirō Oda. In the intervening years, this comic has not only established itself as the best-selling comic book of all time at a global scale, but it has also inspired the creation of different media products. Among these, the most successful, at least within the Western media market, are the anime, i.e. the animated series, broadcast in Italy, on the Mediaset networks, since 2001, and the live-action transposition, made available from 2023 on the Netflix platform. The question therefore arises as to whether the original medium has actually represented a model or a paradigm for the transpositions that have stemmed from it. In this paper, we will attempt to answer this question, by trying to verify the resilience of the original text as a guide for the linguistic options adopted in anime and live-action, through the detection of lexical convergences and divergences in the transition between different media.

  • La scena finzionale della storia. "Maus" di Art Spiegelman

    • Authors: Daniele Quadrio
      Pages: 124 - 132
In 1981, Art Spiegelman's Maus was published: a graphic novel with an innovative mode and an autobiographical connotation in terms of the relationship between language and image. The narrative structure consists of several levels, alternating the voices of the narrators. The dramatic event experienced by Art's father in Auschwitz is evoked through a story whose characters take on the appearance of animals. The narrative modes correspond to distinct temporal levels, and give rise to the inclusion of testimonial reality within a fictional universe. Words and images dialogically construct a polyphonic narrative and turn a critical eye on the historical reality of the Holocaust.

  • Media e gastronomia 2.0. Il lessico agro-alimentare tra neologismi e
           retrodatazioni

    • Authors: Davide D'Antonio
      Pages: 133 - 162
Abstract: Il presente contributo è suddivisibile in due parti. This paper can be divided into two parts. The first part, after two brief historical-general introductions, essentially sets itself two tasks: to report some of the latest neologisms in the field of agri-food lexicon and to demonstrate, through backdating, how many words considered new are actually not so "new." In the second part, the neologisms reported are analyzed from the point of view of formation (derivatives, loanwords, calques, etc.) and are indicated in which editions of the Zingarelli do or do not appear. At the end of the contribution are some concluding remarks.

           tradizionali e testate 2.0 a confronto

    • Authors: Arianna Ferioli
      Pages: 163 - 186
