  • Comparison of Defence Arts by Country in Law Enforcement Education

    • Abstract: Law Enforcement Defence and Intervention Techniques (LEDIT) are the methods of defence and intervention applied to suspects, criminals, and individuals who threaten security and public order, by the authority granted by law to the gendarmerie personnel who have the duty of security, public order, and safety. The aim of this study is to analyse the martial arts used by law enforcement officers by country. In this study, which was designed for a descriptive purpose, the data were obtained from the websites of the Police and Gendarmerie Forces, from the replies to the defence techniques information request letter written to the embassies, and from the theses and articles published in the relevant field, by using the scanning method. According to the data obtained, it has been observed that many countries use more than one defence technique. As a result, all countries in the world either created their own fighting styles for close-range combat or took them from other countries and blended them within their own styles. The study group of the research consists of the police forces of 22 countries, including Turkey, and 6 countries affiliated to the International Gendarmerie and Law Enforcement Forces with Military Status (FIEP).

  • Quantum Technologies Impact on Electromagnetic Spectrum Monitoring

    • Abstract: Electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) superiority represents a prerequisite for resilient defence strategies, capable of effective and adequate response to our global security environment. Besides, quantum communications are being considered one of the most promising technologies with applications in security related domains. To this extent, the development of quantum communication infrastructures will significantly impact the architecture of the modern electromagnetic operational environment. Quantum technologies pave the way towards revolutionary technologies by exploiting physical phenomena from different angles and enabling extremely sensitive measurements of multiple parameters including electromagnetic fields. This paper aims to present a short description of quantum technologies with applications for electromagnetic spectrum monitoring and discusses their impact on future electromagnetic warfare operations.

Logistical Support of the Military Unit

    • Abstract: The new products provided by the development of information technology (scanners, barcodes, RFIDs, etc.) can currently provide methods and techniques towards achieving important savings in terms of management of logistical support of military units, especially in terms of efficiency in providing material goods to combat forces that are preparing and training through military exercises. I set out to make an “x-ray” of this way of improving the logistical support, especially through the method of identification by labels that use radiofrequency (Radio Frequency Identification/RFID).

  • The Impact of Some Emerging Technologies in Modern Military Actions

    • Abstract: Among the emerging technologies, artificial intelligence represents nowadays an area of interest for all of the states around the world, making the technological progress a huge step in human evolution. The future role of the man in military actions will not be to fight in the field anymore, making decisions on how and when to use the weapons in order to stop the incoming enemy while also respecting the international laws. With the help of technology, humanity could provide its much needed security and put an end to conflicts regardless of their nature, because devices are not capable of emotions and subjectivism, making them transparent and objective and transforming the decision making process into a simpler, fairer and legal action. Technology represents the future and man should adapt to it as soon as possible in order to reach the best outcomes even when it comes to war.

  • Cybersecurity Leaders: Knowledge Driving Human Capital Development

    • Abstract: Cybersecurity leaders must be able to use critical reading and thinking skills, exercise judgment when policies are not distinct and precise, and have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to tailor technical and planning data to diverse customers’ levels of understanding. Ninety-three percent of cybersecurity leaders do not report directly to the chief operating officer. While status differences influence interactions amid groups, attackers are smarter. With the aim of protecting organizations and reducing risk, knowledge about security must increase. Understanding voids are costly and increased breach chances are imminent. Burning questions exist. What are needed technological learnings for cybersecurity leaders to become smarter and remain ahead of attackers' How might these technologies hasten the understanding of the ‘what,’ ‘how,’ and ‘why’ reasons and key drivers for organizational behaviors. This article offers comparative analyses for cybersecurity leaders to engage in the questioning of practices, scrutinize entrenched assumptions about technology, customary practices, and query technology’s outputs by pursuing to comprehend all assumptions that could influence operations. Because understanding continues to rely upon progressively multifaceted epistemic technologies, outcomes of the research suggest that the salience of status distinctions is of central significance to the development of ongoing and proactive technological learning and up scaling solutions.

  • Packing and Unpacking Grammar – Towards a Communicative Approach to
           Teaching Language Structures

    • Abstract: Creating classroom activities which really get students to communicate in a natural and meaningful way remains a timely challenge when it comes to teaching a foreign language. This article sets out to revisit the traditional trifecta based on the three Ps (presentation, practice, production) and reincorporate it in a set of specific elements that ensure a successful outcome of language learning activities. With particular focus on grammar, the paper aims to deconstruct the steps and procedures behind five important aspects to be taken into consideration when planning and conducting activities that target structures of language and their practice in a communicative manner, with the ultimate goal of linking the often sterile theory of grammar with contextualized models and tasks.

  • Equal Opportunities Through Education

    • Abstract: An inclusive society is a society that offers its members equal opportunities to participate in all aspects of public life, without discrimination, by exercising rights and assuming responsibilities so that progress is equally desired by the individuals and the society to which they belong. The human personality is formed by the interaction of the biological (heredity) with the factors of the social environment and under the influence of education. That is why it is necessary for education to be a modeling continuum, a process that begins in the family and is continued in school, the nucleus around which the free, independent, creative personalities of future adults will be formed. Today’s children are tomorrow’s adults, the ones who will make their mark on the future society. Whether tomorrow’s society will be an inclusive society or whether it will raise barriers and generate hostility depends on how we form the young generation today. This exploratory research, based on the analysis of official documents, statistics and concrete data of the observed reality, highlights important aspects regarding the access to education of disadvantaged groups, in a society that wants to be inclusive.

           Digital Environment

    • Abstract: The social and business environments have changed greatly in the last two years, in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the condition of increased adoption of the digital based activities in the everyday lives of the company. New tools and activities, like “remote working”, “online interaction”, “video conferences” are just some of the new tools that have changed the Business-to-Business (B2B) marketing and buying behaviour landscape and made it jump from the traditional to the current and possibly the future approach. The current paper tracks some of the changes that have occurred in the Business-to-Business marketing environment, while underlining the effects he shift to digital has had on the business consumers and on their buying behaviour, being sustained by several secondary data analyses resulted from current reports, which are the basis for developing successful B2B marketing strategies and tactics.

  • Risks to the National Security Generated By the Widespread Use of

    • Abstract: The pronounced multi-domain technologicalization specific to the last decades has had a significant impact on all areas of activity, including the financial one. The use of cyberspace to facilitate the actions undertaken in the monetary activity has generated the development of this field to the point where virtual currencies have been created and new technologies have been developed to support their use. Like any emerging domain, the cryptocurrency field and the related technology are in a relatively early stage and exclusively imply operating in cyberspace, thus generating security risks in the event of the involvement of malicious entities in illicit activities. In this context, it is worth analyzing how the improper use of the crypto domain can lead to various risks to national security.

  • Communicative Teaching – An Efficient Approach to Foreign Language

    • Abstract: The present article focuses on Communicative Teaching as an efficient approach to foreign language teaching and learning. Nowadays, the role of the teacher is no longer to offer models to be learnt or descriptions of the foreign language, but mostly to create a climate in the classroom that will enable students to learn by getting involved in activities and working on tasks. Moreover, it is no longer expected that the teacher dominates the whole work in the classroom. Their role is to set up activities and conditions that will enable students to use the foreign language as they have a great interest in the outcome of the tasks. Therefore, the teacher’s success is closely related to their ability to stimulate the students’ interests.

  • Substantive Conditions of Adoption Regarding the Adopting Person or Family

    • Abstract: This article analyzes the substantive conditions imposed by the Romanian legislator on persons wishing to adopt, the legal circumstances considered to be essential and indispensable for a person or a family to be able to adopt. From a historical point of view, the adoption has been permanently subject to conditions, imposed by the interests of the child without parental protection, of the state or of a logic common sense. The existence of conditions regarding the situation, attributes or aptitudes of the adopter does not contradict the general principle of non-discrimination, recognized and guaranteed by both national and international law. The regulation of restrictions on the possibility of adoption does not amount to discrimination against any citizen, as long as such restrictions or conditions are motivated by interests of a higher order than private ones and apply to all persons in a certain situation. Adoption is a complex social phenomenon due to the emotional implications on those involved in this process.

  • Physical Activities and their Characteristics During Pandemic Times

    • Abstract: In this paper we wanted to present some aspects and characteristics observed in the specialized works and from the experience gained in performing physical activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This period was a complicated one both in terms of physical distancing and emotionally. We no longer had the right to leave our houses, except to get what was strictly necessary, not to meet with family members or friends, cultural and sports activities were suspended, and all this caused an increasingly visible state of sedentary lifestyle. All the restrictions of this period had a negative effect mainly on the brain and the dynamics of the human body, and they are detailed in the following pages.

           Selection of Future Officers

    • Abstract: The objective of this paper is to present the approaches to the elaboration of psychological profiles of military forces and specialties and the choice of the theoretical model that underlies the elaboration/selection of psychological assessment tools. The theoretical models underpinning the psychological assessment activity have been extensively studied and conclusive scientific data and evidence have been obtained in empirical studies conducted over several years. For example, the multiple intelligences model, which accepts that people have different and distinct cognitive strengths and styles, highlights and takes into account the most representative psychological characteristics of the person being assessed in order to propose the most optimal match with the requirements of the military branch/specialty in which he/she can develop.

  • Considerations on the Impact of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies on
           Security Policies

    • Abstract: The issue of the impact of emerging and disruptive technologies on security policy is a major concern of the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance. This is also demonstrated by the meeting between the Board members and the newly-established Advisory Group for Emerging and Disruptive Technologies, consisting of top experts in the fields of Cyber, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Big Data, Space, Robotics and Autonomous or Biotechnological Systems, to find new synergies between NATO, the private, governmental and academic sectors and to maintain the technological supremacy of the Alliance. At the same time, the fact that the Romanian Army has mastered the defining elements of the impact of emerging and disrupted technologies on security policy and acts to make them operational is demonstrated by the meeting of July 12, 2021, of the Minister of National Defense, Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca with Heidi Grant, director of the US Defense and Security Cooperation Agency, on which occasion Romania received from the US the name of “Dependable Undertaking (DU)” under which contracts for the purchase of military equipment can be concluded without any payment in advance. Based on these elements, we would like to continue to talk about some aspects of innovation in dual military technologies, such as the influence of emerging and disruptive technologies on the organization and use of the armed forces. The research method undertaken consisted in identifying bibliographic resources, studying them, drawing relevant conclusions and formulating points of view on the impact of emerging and disruptive technologies on security policies.

  • Study Regarding the Planning Process in Physical Education and Sports

    • Abstract: The planning process in every domain represents the first fundamental process; also, the physical and sport activity needs meticulous planning of the activity so that the density of the physical lessons and the efficiency to be at a high level. Our study is based on a questionnaire undertaken by ten physical education teachers from Sibiu City regarding planning the PE activity, the efficiency of the methods used in planning the activity, and other essential problems that occurred in the process of planning the PE activity. The research found out that the planning activity must be changed and adapted to children’s new needs in teachers’ opinion. Also, the documents are often too many and sometimes useless occupying teachers’ time and not being so efficient. The research conclusions are that planning the PE activity is a significant activity and new ways of planning and new curriculum should be added, and many inefficient documents should disappear so that the teachers’ time is used more efficiently.
