  • An FPGA application of home security code using verilog

      Abstract: Traditional entrance keys performed a number of drawbacks, including the ease with which they can be stolen, duplicated, or misplaced, allowing unauthorized people to gain access to cash, valuables, and other important documents. As known, most digital electronic entrance locks use application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) as based, which have the disadvantage of being unable to be reconfigured, as opposed to field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). This project proposed a home security code lock using verilog hardware descriptive language (HDL) with two unlocking modes, using a button or a keypad which can be changed using a switch. The 7-segment on the Altera DE2-115 trainer board is used to display the passcode press by the keypad. The result of simulation on the keypad using finite state machine (FSM) technique was fulfill the theoretical concept in which it will go to the next state each time the correct input or passcode was entered. When the wrong input or passcode was entered, it will be entered to reset mode. As the conclusion, a fully comply output according to the theoretical FSM concept is fully achieved in this project.

  • Proposal of a reliable embedded circuit to control a stepper motor using
           microblaze soft-core processor

      Abstract: The vast majority of embedded system designs start with a processor-based system, using a microcontroller or microprocessor as the core element to predict and process the basic control tasks. This paper aims to increase the reliability of controlling a stepper motor by an embedded circuit, which generates four digital signals of pulse width modulation (PWM). The manager of this circuit is an embedded processor licensed from Microblaze, which sits within the FPGA architecture Virtex 5. This processor analyzes the parameters to execute the rotation under the best conditions (energy consumption, speed, precision, reliability). The communication with the PC takes place via the RS232 link to provide feedback. The autonomous processor generates an independent control frequency of the PC. The four digital signals of PWM are simulated on Xilinx's ISim interface and sent to the ULN2803 amplifier circuit to run the stepper motor.

  • Circular slot antenna for triband application

      Abstract: We recommend a circular monopole antenna (CMPA) with a central feed to operate in three bands. The antenna is circular and has an 8cm diameter. The suggested antennas' resonance frequency ranges are 2.43 GHz, 5.24 GHz, and 9.61 GHz. The planned CMPA is made up of two circle-shaped slots cut into the radiating patch. The whole structure is supplied via a microstrip feed line and analysed using CST Studio's electromagnetic simulator, which is based on finite integral technique (FIT). To check the structure, the return loss, radiation pattern, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and gain are all examined. The structure's ideal dimensions are determined using a parametric study of three factors: feed position, feed breadth, and ground size. The proposed CMPA is capable of operating in several bands and has good matching impedance in all of them.

  • Modeling arbiter-PUF in NodeMCU ESP8266 using artificial neural network

      Abstract: A hardware fingerprinting primitive known as physical unclonable function (PUF) has a huge potential for secret-key cryptography and identification/authentication applications. The hardware fingerprint is manifested by the random and unique binary strings extracted from the integrated circuit (IC) which exist due to inherent process variations during its fabrication. PUF technology has a huge potential to be used for device identification and authentication in resource-constrained internet of things (IoT) applications such as wireless sensor networks (WSN). A secret computational model of PUF is suggested to be stored in the verifier’s database as an alternative to challenge and response pairs (CRPs) to reduce area consumption. Therefore, in this paper, the design steps to build a PUF model in NodeMCU ESP8266 using an artificial neural network (ANN) are presented. Arbiter-PUF is used in our study and NodeMCU ESP8266 is chosen because it is suitable to be used as a sensor node or sink in WSN applications. ANN with a resilient back-propagation training algorithm is used as it can model the non-linearity with high accuracy. The results show that ANN can model the arbiter-PUF with approximately 99.5% prediction accuracy and the PUF model only consumes 309,889 bytes of memory space.

  • Alzheimer’s diseases classification using YOLOv2 object detection

      Abstract: Early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is necessary for the patient safety. Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) is a useful tool for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). We make two contributions to the solution of this problem in this study. To begin with, we are the first to propose an Alzheimer's disease diagnosis solution based on the MATLAB that does not require any magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pre-processing. Second, we apply recent deep learning object detection architectures like YOLOv2 to the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. A new reference data set containing 300 raw data points for Alzheimer's disease detection/normal control and severe stage (MCI/AD/NC) deep learning is presented. Primary screening cases for each category from the Alzheimer's disease neuroimaging initiative (ADNI) dataset. The T1-weighted Dicom MRI slice in the MP-Rage series in 32-bit DICOM image format and 32-bit PNG are included in this dataset. By using MATLAB’s image label tool, the test data were marked with their appropriate class label and bounding box. It was possible to achieve a detection accuracy of 0.98 for YOLOv2 in this trial without the usage of any MRI preprocessing technology.

      Abstract: The clinical indication of arrhythmia identifies specific aberrant circumstances in heart pumping that may be detected using electrical impulses during conduction or by allowing a little amount of current to travel through the electrodes, disrupting the cardiac muscle's resistance. The electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most important instruments for detecting cardiac arrhythmia since it is the most least intrusive and effective procedure. Physically or visually inspecting the heart is time-consuming and difficult, hence the development of computer aided diagnosis (CAD) is being developed to aid clinical decision-making. In this suggested research, a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based approach is used to automate the heartbeat classification process in order to identify cardiac arrhythmia. The improved enhancement of CNN structure has been implemented in this suggested research. The feature maps are then subjected to the max pooling process. Finally, feature maps are generated by concatenating kernels of different sizes and delivering them as an input to the fully linked layers. The MIT BIH arrhythmia database is used to implement this approach, and the total average accuracy is 99.21%. The proof of the suggested study's efficiency and efficacy in identifying cardiac arrhythmia has also been done via an experimental comparison

  • Message querying telemetry transfer on IoT applications to enhance
           technology: a systematic review

      Abstract: More things are connected to the Internet, making the internet of things (IoT) develop significantly. But IoT also has weaknesses in communication, one of which can be overcome by utilizing message querying telemetry transfer (MQTT) because there are too many benefits of MQTT. Because there have been many published studies regarding MQTT, this study aims to conduct a review utilizing Preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) on the application of MQTT in IoT applications to enhance technology. The results of using PRISMA were 57 papers selected from this process, which starts from the identification stage, screening, eligibility, and included. The last author found components that can be discussed to enhance technology. In this discussion, several topics will be used to enhance technology, such as; smart technology, security, MQTT performance for IoT, monitoring systems, MQTT comparison, enhancement or optimization. This paper is expected to help academia and industry related to MQTT research that can help IoT to enhance technology quality.

  • Monitoring and control of single-phase electrical systems using IoT based

      Abstract: The internet of things (IoT) has a significant impact on increasing the efficiency and quality of electricity in large power systems. Smart voltage and current monitoring systems (SVCMS) have been developed using a novel method. Using an Arduino Uno microcontroller and a Wi-Fi module, the integrated SVCMS design measures voltage and current sensor findings and sends the processed data to an Android phone. In order to communicate, the global systems for mobile communication (GSM) module is required. When anything goes wrong, an Android app may be used to notify users by text message or email and help them take the right action. It is possible to remotely monitor and control the operation of a gadget using logical programming techniques in Arduino which results easy load control.

  • Smart vehicle management by using sensors and an IoT based black box

      Abstract: As the number of transports on the road increases every day, so does the number of accidents. Reckless driving and consuming alcohol are two of the leading causes of accidents. Apart from these issues, the safety of humans and vehicles is also critical. A thorough investigation is required to minimize the accident rate and improve human safety, particularly if an incident occurs. The purpose of this study is to develop a few sensor-based black box system that will help us reduce traffic accidents by continuously providing precise guidance to the driver. At the same time, the evidence will be uploaded to its server for further evaluation. This system also includes a way of detecting drowsiness in the driver. Finally, using global positioning system (GPS) and global system for mobile communications (GSM), the relevant authorities will get information on the vehicle's condition and whereabouts. For security purposes, a panic button is introduced here to get emergency help from the security personnel by detecting the victim’s area.
