Authors:Flaviana ROTARU, Aurel Mihail ŢÎŢU Pages: 1 - 9 Abstract: Clusters are ecosystems where an organization or person may find resources to develop research and innovation activities. The ecosystem composition is based, beside the geographical concentration, also on the diversity of actors, from providers of specialized products or services to governmental and non-governmental entities such as universities, research institutes, specialized agencies, think tanks, respectively training service providers. The current study was conducted to assess the landscape of Romanian clusters dedicated to the development of the health sector and provides a case study regarding the ROHEALTH - Health and Bioeconomy Cluster by analyzing the benefits of being a part of cluster ecosystem from the perspective of research, development and innovation (RDI) projects development. Authors:Karim ZAROUR, Abderraouf MERAZKA, Abdeldjalil BENKOUSSAS Pages: 10 - 21 Abstract: In the current context of an aging population and the development of assistance to the elderly, the needs of this category of people are increasing. The nursing homes are part of these needs. For an older adult, choosing a nursing home near his or her family, relatives, and friends can also be reassuring and allow regular visits from his or her entourage. The choice of a nursing home is a significant problem for aging adults. This particular category of people wastes too much time, money, and effort in moving to find an establishment that ensures care and meets their basic needs. This paper proposes an agent-based approach that performs nursing homes' search process by user-selected personalized criteria. The appointment step follows this process. This approach represents a significant help to dependent older adults. PubDate: 2022-03-31 Issue No:Vol. 44, No. 1 (2022)
Authors:Mariana Mirela VALCAN Pages: 22 - 30 Abstract: Aim: The aim of this study was to monitor the evolution of pain, dependence score and quality of life in the pre- and post-operative period, in association with surgery type and specific healthcare problems. Material and Method: We conducted a prospective, descriptive study. Patients were evaluated using scales using a holistic approach, both preoperatively and postoperatively, to assess pain, quality of life, and dependence score. Results: The score for pain, dependence score and quality of life in the postoperative period, in patients with mastectomy, is higher than in patients who underwent conservative surgery. The complexity of care problems increases in direct proportion to the extent of surgery and pre-existing comorbidities. Conclusions: The increase in the quality of life assessment score is directly correlated with the increase in the dependency score calculated by using the Scale / degree of dependence assessment scale on the 14 Fundamental Needs, both values increased, being directly related to the decrease in quality of life in the postoperative period.
