      Abstract: Lablab bean (Lablab purpureus L.) seeds have characterized for usage a protein supplement in bakery items. In order to prepare biscuits 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% lablab bean seed powder blended with wheat flour. The flours were tested for their chemical composition. Lablab bean seed flour had high protein (23.2%), ash (3.1%) and dietary fiber (1.8%) content, and low in fat (1.2%) and carbohydrates (59.74%). The spread ratio reduced as bean seed flour was incorporated. The protein, crude fiber and ash content of biscuits significantly enhanced (p ≤ 0.05) with addition of lablab bean seed flour. When wheat flour replaced with lablab seed flour up to 10%, the sensory properties (overall score above 7) of composite flour biscuits were more or less identical to the control biscuits. Therefore, the lablab bean seed flour can enrich biscuits with the blending of wheat/lablab bean seed flour.

  • Effects of Soil and Water Conservation Structures on Crop Yield, Lemo
           District, Southern Ethiopia

      Abstract: The soil loss in Ethiopia in general and in southern Ethiopia in particular has becoming critical to be considered as burning issue. This research was carried out to investigate the effects of soil bund and fanyajuu bund on crop yield on the cropping pattern of the farmers on their fields. Randomized complete block de-sign (RBCD) with seven replication and three position, (lower, middle and upper) and wheat as a test crop were used for the investigation. Data on plant height, 1,000 seed weight, number of seed per spike, grain yield and day to 50% spiking were taken. Considering the seven locations level fanyajuu and level bund treated plots showed 50.9% and 43.2% greater yield than the control plot, respectively. Correlation analysis showed significant correlation with most of soil physico-chemical properties and agronomic characteristics on level bund and level fanyajuu whereas it showed insignificant correlation with control plot. Fi-nally it was suggested that further study should be conducted under different agro-ecological zones to attain more comprehensive results.

  • Establishing Modern Bachelor-level Studies in Computer Science based on
           Higher Education Standard in Ukraine

      Abstract: The work considers the Computer Science standard for Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Ukraine in the context of harmonizing its content with world practice. The CS standard defines the subject area description, which includes the object of activity, goals and objectives of training, the theoretical content of the domain, teaching methods and technologies. The competency-based model for the bachelors training in computer science is described, This model includes generic and subject specific competencies, learning outcomes. Relation generic competencies of CS educational standard and descriptors of Ukrainian NQF is shown. The methodology for developing the educational standard of the Bachelor of Computer Science is based on the systematization of the IT industry requirements to the competencies of alumnus. CS standard is approved by the Ministries of Education and Science of Ukraine and is mandatory for implementation in the educational practice of all universities.

  • Image Guided Radiotherapy for Cervical Cancer A Review

      Abstract: Cervical cancer (CC) is one of the most common cancers in female worldwide. Radiotherapy plays an important rolein the treatment of cervical cancer, and about 80% of CC patients needradiotherapy. However, many factors, including body position, body mass indexand bladder filling state and so on, can affect the set-up errors during thetreatment of radiotherapy. Recently, image guided radiotherapy has been widelyused in clinic to reduce set-up errors and improve the accuracy of radiotherapy.Besides, image guided radiotherapy is applied for the analysis of cervicalcancer target expansion. There is no doubt that radiotherapy couldimprove the therapeutic effect of cervical cancer, but the complications causedby radiotherapy should also draw our attentions.

  • Deformation of Elastic Damping Bodies, Hysteresis Friction

      Abstract: The article considers theissue of deformation of elastically damping bodies, taking into account the influenceof hysteresis energy losses of forced vibrations. It was found than thelongitudinal vibrations of nonlinear mechanical systems with distributedparameters mainly depend on the generalized stiffness coefficient, the naturalfrequency of the system, and on the increment of the driving force. A monotonicchange in the stiffness coefficient of elastic-damping materials duringhysteretic friction leads to an automatic change in the natural frequency as awhole.

  • Incidence and Risk Factors Associated with Birth Asphyxia in South Indian
           Newborns—Part I

      Abstract: Birth asphyxia is the leading cause of preventable proportion of neonatal morbidity and mortality, has a high incidence in many Asian countries. The objective of the study was to determine the incidence and influence of various antepartum, intrapartum and neonatal risk factors associated with birth asphyxia in Ethnic Asian-South Indian newborns and to formulate appropriate Asian guideline as preventive strategy. The study comprised of 2,750 consecutive singleton live births, with 583 “Cases” of birth asphyxia and 2,167 “Controls” without asphyxia. Analysis was done using SPSS Version 21 for various risk factors associated with birth asphyxia presented at different intensity levels as odds ratio (OR), mean difference (95% CI), number or percent (%) by binary logistic regression and statistical significance set at 0.05. Incidence of birth asphyxia was 21.2%, peak births of asphyxiated cases occurred at 39 weeks, contrasted to 38 weeks in controls. High risk factors included primigravida OR 1.1 [CI 95%] 0.89-1.29, pregnancy induced hypertension OR 1.37, [CI 95%] 0.92-2.04, P=0.0001, breech presentation OR 20.6 [CI95%] 4.5-94.3, P=0.0001, meconium staining of liquor OR 29 [CI 95%] 19.78-42.65, P=0.0001, oligohydraminos OR 29 [CI 95%] 19.78-42.65, P=0.0001 and cord abnormalities OR 2.9 [CI 95%] 2.18-3.88, P=0.0001. Most asphyxiated cases were delivered by emergency lower segment cesarean section OR 4.91 [CI 95%] 3.94-6.10, P=0.0001, while elective or planned LSCS had low risk of birth asphyxia, Neonatal factors include prematurity < 37 weeks OR 1.36 [CI 95%] 1.03-1.79, P=0.032 and Low Birth Weight (LBW) < 2500g OR 1.51 [CI 95%] 1.21-1.98, P=0.0001. Thus judicious intervention in high risk pregnancy with delivery at 38 weeks, preferably by planned section, obviating intrapartum events will result in reduction of birth asphyxia, thus improving quality of life in survivors.

  • Trees on Farm Domestication Level, Opportunities and Challenges A Case
           Study of Prunus africana in Western Kenya

      Abstract: Prunus africana, is widely known for its medicinal value. The tree has being overexploited for its bark highly valued remedy against prostate disorders. One way of conserving it, is through its domestication. There is a need to assess the potentials and constraints to its domestication. The objective of this study was to generate information to improve strategies for its conservation and domestication in Kenya. A survey was done on farms adjacent to Kobujoi and Kakamega forest reserves (western Kenya) using a semi-structured questionnaire. The results indicate that farmers in Kobujoi were more aware of P. africana uses than those in Kakamega. Firewood recorded the highest frequency of use in both areas while its medicinal use ranked third. In Kobujoi, the species competition with the agricultural crops was the main constraint while in Kakamega, certain discouraging customs and beliefs ranked highest. Lack of seedlings was also a common constraint.

  • Biochemical and Nutritional Importance of Winged Bean (iPsophocarpus
           tetragonolobus/i (L.)) on Wistar Rats

      Abstract: Recently, food-security and sustainability have become a serious global concern, leading tomalnutrition in the developing countries. Winged bean is an underutilized and neglected legume indigenous to Africa. In this study, we  evaluated in vitro and in vivonutritional properties of processed and unprocessed winged bean. Furthermore,we investigated impact of dietary intake of winged bean diets on biochemicalfactors pertaining to body weight gain, lipid profiles, antioxidant enzymes,and liver and kidney functions of experimental rats over a 6-week study period.Twenty-one rats were divided into three groups(n = 7), and fed with three diets (normal pellet diet, pure processed wingedbean alone, and 50% w/w processed winged bean). Our results show higher nitrogen free extract in the processed winged beanthan the unprocessed one. A significantdifference (P > 0.05) in moisture content wasobserved between the unprocessed and  processedwinged bean. The levels of phytate and oxalate in the processed winged beanwere significantly (P <0.05) reduced. However, saponin and   tanninslevels were increased in the processed winged bean. The calcium,  phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, and potassium contents observed in the  processedwinged bean were higher than the unprocessed winged bean. The higher weight gain was observed in the ratsfed with 100% winged bean as  compared to the other groups. Lipid profilesanalysis revealed decreased cholesteroland triglycerides levels with an increase level of HDL in the rats fed on 100%winged bean as well as 50% w/w winged bean diet as compared to the controlgroup.   • Traditional Knowledge Tracing Models for Clustered Students

      Abstract: Against the background of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, online learning has currently become one of the dominant educational forms. For more effective online learning, knowledge tracing that can dynamically estimate the knowledge state of learners should be paid more attention. This study gives an overall introduction of knowledge tracing models. We illustrate the development of the Bayesian Knowledge Tracing model and clarify its concrete mathematic principle. In addition, an individualized method based on clustered students for the Bayesian Knowledge Tracing model is initially proposed, which changes the individualization level from a group of all students to subgroups. To confirm whether this individualized method can be generalized to other knowledge tracing models, we also test it on logistic knowledge tracing models. Therefore, we provide an introduction about the principles of three logistic knowledge tracing models. We evaluate our method on the four models with two international public educational datasets. The results show that all knowledge tracing models for clustered students outperform the original models without clustering. The Bayesian Knowledge Tracing model and item response theory for clustered students both gain good improvement in their performance, while the Performance Factors Analysis for clustered students has only few improvements. The reason for the experimental results is discussed at the end. Overall, this paper provides a general method for further promoting the performance of traditional knowledge tracing models that requires more studies.

  • Effect of Applied Sulphur on Elemental Sulphur Contents in Maize

      Abstract: Maize is the rival of the cereals crops which positions in the third followed by wheat and rice in the whole world. Its creation potential is high so it with fertilization. Demand of cereals crops are increasing due to increasing population of developing countries. Sulphur is a macro nutrient just under the importance of nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P) and potassium (K). When Sulphur deficiency accrues the efficiency of other applied nutrients are affected. The experiment was conducted in Auyob agriculture research institute in Faisalabad. There stood 5 treatments along with 3 replications. There were five levels of sulphur was applied @ 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40kgha-1. with the recommended dose of NPK. Elemental S (Dusting Sulphur) in powdered form was used as fungicides against powdery mildews, apple scab and black spot. The result was statistically analysed by using the standard RCBD design. The result was showed that after applying Sulphur fertilizer pH of soil decreased. This in turn facilitates the solubility of heavy metals and grain number ear. Fresh weight, dry weight, grains yield, was increased with the increasing level of sulphur. The application of S at rate of 40 kg/ha then 0.99 t ha -1 average particle profit of maize was increased. It was concluded that the concentration of S increased with the increase of S fertilizer application.

  • Irrigation of Saline Lands With Activated Collector-Drainage Water
           Activated In The Magnetic Field

      Abstract: The issues related the results of investigations on irrigation of saline lands with collector-drainage water activated in the magnetic field, salinization at the depth of one meter till and after washing soil with sweet water, ion content of toxic salt, dynamics of mineralization degree of ground and drainage water in test and control variants are being analyzed in the article. It is determined that, collector-drainage water activated in the magnetic field, could be used for removing toxic salt in the lands with high water permeability in Mughan steppe. Giving washing water for flushing below the rate for 2-3 times could save sweet water resources.

  • Pre-Slaughter Stress, Management of Stress and Its Effect on Meat and
           Carcass Quality

      Abstract: Pre-slaughter stress includes all the conditions and practices that apply during the period when the animal is moved from source or market to enter to the stunning box at the abattoir. Cattle can be stressed during transportation, marketing and handling at abattoirs. During such condition physiological changes (increased heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, the activity of enzymes, stress hormones (catecholamine, cortisol and glycolysis) have been occurred which used to measure stress before cattle slaughter. Such changes affect the meat quality by depleting muscle glycogen which results in a lower rate of post-mortem lactic acid synthesis, high ultimate pH, tough meat, abnormal muscle color and high water retention capacity. Pre-slaughter stress also causes carcass damage (bruising, hemorrhages, and blood splash), low carcass yields, and total carcass loss meat. Pre-slaughter dietary supplement (Magnesium, Chromium Tryptophan, electrolyte, and Vitamin E), appropriate livestock facilities, best animal handling practice and selection for temperament have been the most effective way to reduce pre-slaughter stress.

  • An oblique asymptote of functions in polar coordinate system

      Abstract: In the XVII century, some scientists showed the response of studying the curves by the analytical method. As a disadvantage of this method, it was noted that its use does not reveal the natural origin of the curve, since the object of the study is actually not the curve itself, but the related equation. In this work, we consider a curve as a function given in the polar coordinate system, if its equation can be represented in an explicit form and some features of an oblique asymptote of the graph of functions.

  • A Review on “Bovine Sub-Clinical Mastitis in Nepal Sustainable
           Management Strategy.”

      Abstract: Nepalese bovine farming is crucial yet underperforming enterprise in Nepal. Inadequate husbandry, lack of proper nutrition and increasing cost of inputs in relationship with the price of outputs makes it a risky business. Diseases and reproductive pathologies tops the list and mastitis is one among top three threats found by farmers of Nepal. Sub-clinical mastitis is characterized by no visible changes in the appearance of the milk and udder but milk production decreases and if timely detected saves lots of trouble to the animal, farmer and the veterinarian. The aim of this paper is to review reported information on status, associated risks and preventive measures of sub-clinical mastitis in bovines of Nepal. A systematic review of available papers published in Nepalese and International magazines, journals, conference souvenirs through hard copy and online search from Google Scholar, Research Gate was done. The obtained information was thoroughly reviewed and the prevalence incidence rate, microbes involved, treatment approach adopted was reanalyzed and summarized. Sub clinical mastitis is serious problem from both farmers and consumers’ point of view. Given the era of antimicrobial resistance, consumer concerns, cost of treatment and stress of high production-sustainable management is likely the best approach.

  • Assessing written language in Greek Validity and reliability

      Abstract: This study aims at contributing to the reading assessment tools for Greek speaking population by evaluating the validity and reliability of decoding and reading comprehension measures. We tested 173 monolingual Greek children (aged 7-10) from elementary school Grades 2, 3, and 4, which were divided into three age groups: (i) 7-8 years, (ii) 8-9 years, (iii) 9-10 years. We employed the following measures: Word decoding measures (WDM): (i) a word and a non-word reading test and (ii) a reading fluency test. Reading comprehension measures (RCM): (i) a standardized reading comprehension test and (ii) a reading comprehension test based on the French test ECoSSe (Epreuve de Compréhension Syntaxico-Sémantique [Test of syntactico-semantic comprehension]).We investigated the convergent validity of these measures and found significant and strong (S & S) correlations between all these measures for the 7-year-old children; for the 8-year-old and 9-year-old groups S & S correlations were only found within each measure category. Furthermore, to investigate the external consistency of these measures we performed test-retest reliability and administered them for a second time after two weeks to a smaller group of 30 individuals (10 for each grade) of this cohort. Correlation analysis indicated S & S correlation. We also investigated internal consistency by performing split-half reliability, which indicated very high estimate for all tests except the second RCM. These results show the interdependence of different aspects of reading abilities in the early stage of reading development.

  • Understanding educational conditions in preschool – Preparing student
           teachers for social justice during practicum placements

      Abstract: The expectations placed on practice teaching in initial teacher education are high. During practice, student teachers should combine theory with practice, make themselves familiar with multicultural classrooms in general, and become aware of different factors that affect learning and teaching. The aim of this study is to increase our knowledge about how work is carried out within practicum placements to help student teachers to understand differing cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of educational settings as a basis for discussing social justice. Staff at practice schools, the practicum team at a university and student teachers were asked about their definitions of different factors that condition learning and teaching, and routines for visiting preschools characterized by different educational conditions. Staff at practice school and university gave examples of different factors, but there was a general lack of organized work with this issue, such as visiting different preschools and holding discussions afterwards. This was confirmed by student teachers, few of whom had visited other preschools and had subsequent discussions. Instead some had experienced variation in work routines, children with special needs and multilingual groups in different sections of their own unit. Experiencing educational environments with different cultural and socioeconomic conditions was considered valuable by the student teachers but was not always given priority. It is concluded that individual variations and needs are understood and formulated by staff and student teachers, but less attention is given to how group belongings and structural frameworks such as socioeconomics are affecting social justice.

      Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effect of family participation model in community rehabilitation of patients with ischemic stroke.Methods: A total of 90 patients were randomly divided into two groups: intervention group (n = 45) and control group (n = 45). The intervention group adopted special family participation mode of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation nursing intervention, while the control group adopted routine rehabilitation nursing intervention After 8 months, the difference of rehabilitation effect between the two groups was evaluated.Results: After 8 months of intervention, Barthel Index and fegl mevyer score were all improved, and the improvement of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion: The family participation model of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation nursing for the rehabilitation of ischemic stroke patients in the community has a significant effect, which is worth promoting.

  • Vavilovs concept of the species as a system

      Abstract: The majority of scientific investigations in the area of a plant taxonomy are finished usually on the level of a concrete species. N. Vavilov in a study of several hundred species showed the absence of monotypic species, i.e. species represented by various forms. The investigation of cultivated species has led to the Vavilov's conception of a Linnaean species as a definite system. We also have tried to complement and develop the Vavilov's concept concerning species of Lupinus L. The International Code of botanical nomenclature fixed such categories as subspecies (subspecies), varieties (varietas), subvarieties (subvarietas) and form (forma). Besides, N. Vavilov paid special attention to eco-geographical differentiation of species into ecotypes, geotypes, concultivars, etc. Such an approach is very effective at the systematization of agricultural plant biodiversity.We have taken advantage of the concept of Vavilov in relation to our model object - genus Lupinus L. Many years of research (1973-2014) by means of expedition missions in many countries, by the study the lupins collection of the N. I. Vavilov’s Institute (2500 accessions) in various geographic regions, and by generalization of the data obtained by other researchers, have enabled as to find out new regularities in the variability of characters depending on genetic features of the species and accessions, and also on ecological and agronomic conditions of their growth (Kurlovich et al. 1990). This Vavilov's approach allowed us to develop a more detailed intraspecific taxonomic and eco-geographical classification and proposed efficient ways of lupins genetic resource utilization in breeding (Kurlovich, 1989, 1998, 2002; Kurlovich and Stankevich, 1990, 1994; Kurlovich et al. 1995).

  • Variability analysis of the seeds and oil yields of several accessions

      Abstract: The ripe fruits of Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Schrad were collected in 12 different localities in Morocco to evaluate the variability of seed and oil yields. The measured traits are: seed weight (SW), seed number (SN), weight of 100 seeds (W 100), seed oil content (OC), seeds yield (SY) and oil yield (OY). The seed oil content ranging between 17 and 24 % of seed weight. The extrapolated seed yield among the accessions ranged from 156 to 816 Kg ha-1, with an overall mean of 413 Kg ha-1. The oil yield varied between 35 to 172 Kg ha-1. The oil extracted from the seed revealed high levels of unsaturated fatty acids (74%) with C 18: 2 (60.06%) and C 18: 1 (11.14%). The results of anova (GLM) show significant and very highly significant effect saccording to the characters measured.Significant variability was observed for seed and oil yields. This variability could be exploited for the selection of accessions with high oil yields.

  • Effect of Prebiotic and Immunowall® as Feed Additive in Enzyme Activity,

      Abstract: The research purpose was to determine the prebiotic and immunowall® effect as the feed additive on enzyme activity, intestinal characteristic, and broiler performance. The research method was used completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 8 replicates. The materials used for this research were 720 unsex day old chicks with Ross 308 strain with average body weight 43.34±1.20 g/head. The treatments used for research were dietary with T0 (basal feed), T1 (basal feed + 0.05% prebiotic at 1-13 days) and (basal feed + 0.05% immunowall® at 15-32 days), T2 (basal feed + 0.1% prebiotic at 1-13 days) and (basal feed + 0.05% immunowall® at 15-32 days) The parameters observed were enzyme activities (protease and amylase), intestinal characteristic (villus total and villus height), and performance (feed intake, body weight, feed conversion ratio, mortality, and production index broiler). The data analysis was the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results showed that using the prebiotic and immunowall® effect as feed additive has significant difference (P < 0.05) on enzyme activities (protease and amylase), intestinal characteristic (villus total and villus height), performance (final body weight and mortality) and significantly different (P < 0.01) (feed conversion, index production, and IOFC). The addition of 0.05% prebiotic and 0.05% immunowall® gave the best effect on enzyme activity, intestinal characteristic, and broiler performance.

  • Using Indigenous Knowledge in Agro-Forestry Practices a Strategy for

      Abstract: Forests provide adjacent communities with livelihood opportunities; during periods of uncertainty, shocks and stress, indigenous knowledge is used for alternate livelihoods. This study focused on the use of indigenous knowledge by local communities in the creation of agro-forestry alternatives amidst conservation programs in the Mount Oku Forest, North West Region, Cameroon. Based on frontline and secondary villages, three communities were randomly selected from the three tribes (Nso, Kom, and Oku) that make up the forest region. Selected Participatory Rural Appraisal tools were used to collect relevant data. Resources extracted from the forest were ranked; trees extracted from forest and planted in farms were identified, farm produce before and after the practice of agro-forestry was assessed. The paired sample t-test was used to test differences between agricultural productions from farms and livelihood opportunities before and after agro-forestry practices. The results indicated that there was a positive and significant difference (p < 0.05) in agricultural production and livelihood opportunities, viz-a-viz forest cover. Though there was diversification in livelihood opportunities, the lack of incorporation of basic scientific approaches of agro-forestry was a major limitation. There is need for a blend of indigenous and scientific knowledge and training of farmers, in the practicing of agro-forestry practices for forest sustenance and livelihood assurance in the Mt Oku area.

System thinking is synonymous with ICIC ways which means Idea, Creativity, Innovation, and Commercialization. Through ICIC ways agriculture production systems can be efficiently managed and sustainable. In order to solve food security problems we need to consider 3Ps (people, planet and profit) aspect of development. Three examples will be used to explain ICIC approach are Livestock-crop plantation (LICRO) integrated production systems as a future livestock production system in the tropics, Oil palm fronds (OPF) as a fiber source for herbivores feeding and Dehydrated-processed food waste (DFW) as an ingredient in poultry feed formulation for free range poultry production system. This paper will apply system approach to solve some of livestock production problems such as limited grazing land space for ruminant (cattle, buffalo, goat, sheep and deer), utilizing readily available green fiber source (waste) such as OPF as herbivore feedstuff and re-utilize food waste (processed and dehydrated) from restaurants, hospital canteens, hotels and others as replacement for expensive imported feed grains in poultry feeding management. Food security problems in term of low in self-sufficiency level in animal protein food such as meat and milk from ruminants and egg & poultry meat can be solved efficiently and economically through application of appropriate technology and innovations. All problems can be turned into opportunities through ICIC ways; not only solving primary problem of resource scarcity but also contributes towards multiple output and commercialization of animal protein food items and animal products from the system.

      Abstract: Sanyinjiao is the intersection point of spleen meridian, liver meridian and kidney meridian.And it is closely related with vital channel, ren channel, uterus and internal organs. Sanyinjiao has the function of regulate human health, and has remarkable treatment effection on female diseases. Sanyinjiao, first recorded in “Acupuncture and moxibustion” [1], is located 3 inches above the tip of the medial malleolus and at the posterior margin of the medial side of the tibia [2]. Sanyinjiao acupoint is named Sanyinjiao because of the damp and hot Qi provided by the spleen, the water and wind provided by the liver and the cold Qi provided by the kidney. Kidney stores essence, which is the source of “Tiangui”; spleen controls blood, which is the source of blood biochemistry; liver stores blood, which is the source of meridians. The growth and development of women can not be separated from the participation and regulation of liver, spleen and kidney. Sanyinjiao, as the intersection point of foot three yin meridians, is closely related to viscera, meridians and uterus, which determines its particularity and importance in gynecology physiology and pathology. Through acupuncture at Sanyinjiao single point and its compatibility, it can regulate viscera in two ways, improve viscera function, and regulate Chongren uterus. The occurrence of common gynecological diseases in clinic is mostly in the uterus, and the changes are mostly in the viscera and Qi and blood. Most of the causes are caused by the loss of liver and kidney or the injury of Chong Ren. Because Sanyinjiao is closely related to the viscera, meridians and the uterus, Sanyinjiao point is the first choice for the treatment of gynecological related diseases. The author summarizes the physiological connection, pathological diseases and treatment of Sanyinjiao in gynecology as follows for reference.

      Abstract: Surfaces and curves play an important role in geometric design. In recent years, problem of finding a surface passing through a given curve has attracted much interest. In the present paper, we propose a new method to construct a surface interpolating a given curve as the asymptotic curve of it. Also, we analyze the conditions when the resulting surface is a ruled surface. Furthermore, we prove that there exists no developable surface possessing a given curve as an asymptotic curve except plane. Finally, we illustrate this method by presenting some examples.

  • Allelopathic Effect of Tropical Spiderwort (Commelina benghalensis L.)
           Powder on the Performance of African Eggplant (Solanum macrocarpon L.)

      Abstract: This project was carried out to investigate the allelopathic effect of Commelina benghalensis on the performance of Solanum macrocarpon. The experiment was carried out at Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan (Latitude 7o 22’N, Longitude 3o 05’E). The whole plants of Commelina benghalensis was uprooted and washed in clear water, later air-dried to a constant weight and grinded to powdery form. The treatments were arranged in different dosages; 0 g (control), 20 g, 40 g, 60 g, 80 g and 100 g. The powdery Commelina benghalensis was broadcasted on each plot size 1 m by 1 m, mixed thoroughly and left for 2 days before the seeds of Solanum macrocarpon were planted, the experiments were laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD). All data collected were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and significant treatment means were separated using Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) at 5% level of significance. Three plants were tagged to collect the following data: plant height (cm), stem girth (cm), number of leaves and yield (tons/ ha). The results at 8 WAT showed that Solanum macrocarpon treated with 40 g of Commelina benghalensis had highest number of leaves (18.60) and yield (8.53 tons/ ha). It can therefore be recommended that 40 g of powder Commelina benghalensis should be applied on Solanum macrocarpon plants to obtain good and better yield.

  • Impact Assessment of Extension Program on Hybrid Rice Adoption in Myanmar

      Abstract: In Myanmar, almost all of research activities are centered on Extension Division that organized with versatile agricultural specialists who are most likely to distribute research activities and new innovation technologies to remote areas. Pearl Thwe hybrid rice seed production was introduced in 2011/2012 in monsoon, for poverty alleviation and better living standard of farmers due to its higher yield. Sown area however is very limited to adopt. The purposes of this study are to evaluate the impact assessment of extension program by benefit-cost ratio (B:C), and to examine the most effective methodologies by marginal effect. The seasonal data (580 sample sizes) were collected in 58 Townships of four State and Regions, from 2011/2012 to 2015/2016. The results showed that annual average growth rate of Pearl Thwe adoption in Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Tanintharyi, Bago and Magway Region/State are satisfied while the rest State and Region are highly unsatisfactory. Nevertheless, Sagaing, Mandalay, Mon, Shan and Ayeyarwaddy Region/State increased adoption areas yearly even having decreasing growth rate. Among still operating various extension methods in Myanmar, field day, media and field-trial are the best, and demonstration and farmer-field-school are also satisfied whilst integrated method, workshop, other method (traditionally), training and group discussion methods are unsatisfactory for hybrid rice adoption, in accordance with cost (applied extension methodologies) and benefit (Pearl Thwe’ adoption). By the perception and perception score of Township Officer, farmer field school, workshop, other method, integrated method, the media were unacknowledged, and market access and input are constraint factors while technical assistance and source of seed are most likely convenient factors. In order to promote the reliable extension methodologies in Myanmar, the policy makers should try to be more familiar to the media and farmer-field-school to farmers as field day, on farm-trial and demonstration.

Soya bean is one of the best vegetable proteins and has tremendous potential to meet the protein deficiency in the cereal based Indian diets at a low cost. Product development can be taken as income generating activity in the rural areas by the illiterate women. Products can be included in supplementary feeding programmes in order to improve the nutritional status of the vulnerable groups of the population.

  • Park People Conflict Management and its Control Measures in Chitwan
           National Park, Nepal

      Abstract: Biodiversity conservation through participatory approach has been increasingly practiced in the different National Parks in Nepal for more than two decades. However, the living conditions of the local communities and cooperativeness of the park authorities are two fundamental aspects of the biodiversity conservation. This paper investigates the natural resource-based conflict and its control initiatives in Chitwan National Park. The household-level information on sociodemographic characteristics, park-people interface, crop raiding and livestock depredation, human and animal losses were collected through a questionnaire survey of 90 households comprising of 45 households living close to the Park and 45 households living far from the Park. Fifteen park authorities were also interviewed to explore their perceptions and experiences during the protection of resources in the Park. Key conflicting issues were identified during the collection of roofing and thatching materials, fuelwood, timber, and livestock grazing in the nearby forest. Majority of the respondents reported conflicting issues on insufficient permission period to collect roofing and thatching materials and fuelwood; started banning animal grazing in the public forest and park; inadequate compensation to the community for the human, domestic animals and crop damage due to wildlife entrance; unhelpful behaviors of park administration; and lack of measures to control monsoon flooding. These results point some necessary policy improvements and action to ameliorate: the relationship between the park administration and communities, Park management and governance mechanisms, and enterprise-based community development and conservation outcomes.

  • Correlation Between True Seed and Tuber Dormancy in a Solanum Tuberosum
           Group Phureja × Stenotomum Population

      Abstract: Short tuber dormancy is desirable when multiple cropping seasons occur yearly, yet most potato cultivars were developed for regions with one growing season per year and have long dormancy.  Although several methods exist for breaking tuber dormancy, they can lead to uneven emergence and poor stand counts. Breeding short dormancy cultivars could alleviate this problem. A long-day adapted diploid hybrid population of S. tuberosum Group phureja- S. stenotomum (phu-stn) has been developed with short tuber dormancy. The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a correlation between tuber dormancy in these phu-stn parents and true potato seed dormancy in their offspring, which would allow rapid breeding of short-dormancy germplasm. Tuber dormancy was evaluated for 12 diploid phu-stn parents harvested from three different locations: Presque Isle, Maine (ME), Plymouth, North Carolina (NC) and Beltsville, Maryland (MD) and stored at 7 °C in MD. Twelve crosses were made among these parents. Each parent was represented twice in the offspring.  True potato seed (TPS) from these 12 families were disinfected and soaked in water for 24 hours, dried, and sown in tissue culture. TPS germination was recorded daily for 35 days and the germinated proportion was calculated. The experiment was conducted three times. Parental tuber dormancy ranged from 6-10+ weeks and varied significantly among locations. TPS family proportion germination ranged from 9 to 99%. There was no correlation (r = 0.01) between parental tuber dormancy and seedling vigor index. These results show that the relationship between offspring TPS dormancy and their parent’s tuber dormancy is unpredictable. Additional research is needed to determine if selection for early sprouting in the offspring in vitro is correlated with short tuber dormancy in subsequent field generations of these offspring.

      Abstract: In 2009 a group of companies were assembled (Aarhus University, SEGES, BioCover A/S and Grundfos ) and committed to a joint development project “SyreN”  - technology for field acidification of slurry, with support from the Danish ministry for development and innovation. The group defined and created a demand specification for using sulfuric acid together with a slurry tanker during application with the purpose of reducing ammonia emission, later called “field acidification”. Another effect of the sulfuric acid was the addition of sulphate to slurry. Following a successful research evaluation, the system was developed by BioCover to a pilot scale system for tests and following used in commercial slurry application. The commercial product was named SyreN. Today 120 SyreN units are operative in Denmark, acidifying approx. 5.350.000 m3 slurry/year, and do so with an acid amount that often corresponds with the sulphur need by the crops.

  • A Review on Influence of Growth Regulator and Culture Condition on Micro-

      Abstract: Ginger is used in different medicinal systems of the world for a wide range of disorders. Commercially it is available in various forms, such as green ginger (fresh ginger), dry ginger, ginger powder, ginger oil, ginger oleoresin and preserved ginger. Now a day there is an outbreak of ginger wilt disease throughout the world which pushes researchers and experts to work on specifically;the application of plant tissue culture technique to produce disease free plant has been practiced.  Thus the objective of the study is to review the influence of growth regulator and culture condition on micro propagation of ginger.Culture medium without growth regulator fails to stimulate the shoot bud initiation in the explants after four weeks of culture. Depending up on the type and concentration of growth regulators; number of days required for bud break varies from 6-10. Among the growth regulators, the medium containing BA (2.0-4.0 mgl) induced bud sprout in about 6-7 days. Auxin promotes the growth of intact roots and excised root sections but only at a relatively lower concentration range. If its concentration is high, it will suppress morphogenesis in cultured plants. The interaction of cytokinins and explant type had also significant differences for both leaf number and shoot length. The interaction of BAP and NAA produced high number of shoots (in the range of 14-19 shoots per explants) although BAP alone produced 12-13 shoots and 9 roots per explants.The influences of different growth regulators at different concentrations have important roles in promoting well developed roots. The pH condition of the medium should be adjusted to 5.8 before autoclaving at 1.04 kg/cm2 pressure and 121°C temperature for 15 - 20 minute. All cultures should be incubated in 16 h light/8 h dark photoperiod (cool, white fluorescent light -30μ mol m-2S-1) for successful production of plants.

  • Willingness to Pay for Ecolabelled Products The Case of Traditional Rice
           Varieties in the Philippines

      Abstract: Philippines is one of the megadiverse countries in the world and home to globally important agricultural biodiversity particularly in rice. However, the diversity is eroded as some traditional rice varities are no longer produced. Some farmers, however, do not continue to plant traditional varieties of rice because they are not profitable. While there is an opportunity to continue producing them as consumers begin to recognize the importance of preserving traditional varieties, it is uncertain whether this opportunity translates to better incentives for farmers.  A survey of 230 consumers in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao was done to examine this opportunity particularly the demand and willingness to pay for ecolabelled products from these traditional varieties. Factors that affect the level of price premium were also analyzed using interval regression analysis. Results show that most consumers are willing to pay for a premium although they vary depending on the level of price premium. Certification fetches higher price and majority of the respondents are willing to pay price premium for ecolabelled products that range from 10% to 20%.   • Characterization of Six Types of Dried Sea Cucumber Product from Different

      Abstract: The character of six types of dried sea cucumber product and soaked sea cucumber sample in different countries, namely, Indonesia, Mexico, Australia and Japan (Hokkaido, Kansai and Aomori prefectures) was determined. Proximate composition, SDS-PAGE, amino acids and mineral contents, body size, physical properties and color of dried sea cucumber products and soaked sea cucumber samples were investigated. As a result, dried sea cucumbers contained 42.0 - 66.9% protein, 1.83 - 5.86% lipid, 8.62 - 37.3% ash, 12.2 – 18.4% moisture and 4.56 - 7.24% carbohydrate. SDSPAGE showed that protein from dried sea cucumbers were gelatin, consisting of α chain (115 kDa) and β chain (200 kDa). The degradation of α chain and β chain of gelatin was observed from SDS-PAGE for all of soaked sea cucumber samples. All of dried sea cucumber products were abundant in glycine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and proline, accounted for 57.6 - 63.3% in total amino acids and rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium which accounted for 99.91% - 99.98% in total mineral content. L*, a* and b* color values of six types of soaked sea cucumber sample ranged from 16.3 - 38.3, 0.30 - 4.58 and 2.78 - 8.54, respectively. The best texture (the highest springiness of 1.025); the highest weight (175 g), length (154 mm), body wall thickness (14.0 mm), height of spine (8.16 mm) and rehydration ratio (11.9) in soaked sea cucumber in Hokkaido product contribute to its best quality and highest commercial values.

      Abstract: The research is the effect of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) adding on the quality of Abon from unproductive quail. This study aim to utilizing quail meat into a preferred food and cheap price. Unproductive quail is a quail no longer in production and are generally 2.5 years old and a meat is tough. To increase the value of unproductivequail (Coturnixcoturnix japonica) we can process it into another products that high nutritional such as Abon. Abon known as typical Indonesian food made from meat cutlet and its price is expensive. To suppress the price of Abon to be inexpensive in its manufacture can be added with a mixture of vegetable such as white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) that taste like meat. In this study was used of 4000 g of unproductive quails meat and 600 g of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotusostreatus). The method use in this research is an experiment with Block Randomized Design (BRD) which consist of five treatments and four replications. The treatments are the adding of white oyster mushroom as much as 0 % (A), 10 % (B), 20 % (C) and 30 % (D). The variable was observed the content of moisture, protein, fat and the texture of unproductive quails Abon. The result of this research indicated that the adding of white oyster mushroom increased moisture and decreased a protein significantly (P < 0.01) but didn’t affected of fat and texture of unproductive quails Abon. Although the protein content decreases, it is still at the Abon quality recommended by the Indonesian National Standard for Abon. The adding of white oyster mushroom up to 30 % in this research was permitted to produce unproductive quails Abon.

  • Outreach Research on Livestock Improvement, Nutrition and Health in the
           Command Districts of Rars, Parwanipur

      Abstract: Regional Agricultural Research Station Parwanipur have four outreach research sites in four different districts viz Bara, Parsa, Rautahat and Makwanpur of Mid Development Region of the country. Where different livestock research activities are being tested in farmers managed condition with the objective of verification and some sort of dissemination of promising technologies. A number of technologies in livestock sector were accomplished in last couple of years. An attempt was made to improve Terai goat (Capra Hircus) through introduction of Jamunapari buck within three goat rearing farmers group in Bara district. The result revealed that third generation (F3) achieved the highest weight gain followed by second generation (F2) comparing at birth, after 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months of birth. Twining was observed highest in 3rd generation followed by first generation. Interestingly, triplet kidding was found to be highest in first generation followed by third generation but no triplets were observed in second generation. The highest number of kids’ production were observed in first generation and the lowest in second generation. However, kids’ mortality was also observed higher in first generation. Major health problems were diarrhea, bloat, mucus discharge from nose, and parasites such as flukes, worms, ticks, mites and flea were observed in all the growth period and generations. The most vulnerable period for disease incidence in the kids were observed up to 4 months of age. A comparative study was conducted in forage crop with four oat varieties to select the best one in farmers’ field condition. The result showed interaction between varieties and harvesting days were highly significant. Mean yield of green biomass of Bundel variety performed well (3092 g/m2) followed by NZA 30003 (2735 g/m2) and Kent (2322 g/m2). First harvesting at 60 days produced the highest green forage ((3445 g/m2) followed by 90 days (2415 g/m2) and 120 days (1401 g/m2) of harvesting.

      Abstract: Global commitment to improving nutrition among the most vulnerable has never been higher or more coordinated. Scaling up of evidence – based, nutrition specific intervention with the most potential for improving nutritional outcomes and attention to nutrition –sensitive development for long term sustainability of improvements in nutrition have framed the global response. Attempts to achieve ambitious goals have led to identification of key challenges, including recognition of the limited knowledge about drivers of food choice (DFC), particularly among the poor in low and middle income countries (LMIC). Malnutrition is attributed to lack of adequate and balanced diet and is considered as a major cause of decreased productivity and thus exacerbate poverty and can lead to health problem for majority of the population of Ethiopia. This study assessed food choice behavior and consumption among rural households and perception of rural households in the Adola Rede district, Ethiopia. Probability proportional to size was used to determine numbers of study sites and sample households while random sampling techniques was used to draw study sites and sample respondents from each study sites. Data was collected from 150 sample respondents using interview and focus group discussions. Descriptive statistics were employed in analyzing socio economic characteristics of the respondents. Food choice behavior of the rural households was categorized depending on Food Consumption Score used widely by World Food Program. The food choice behaviors of the households respondents were 30% poor, 45% borderline and 25% adequate food choice behavior. Overwhelmingly, only one- fourth of the respondents were found to be appropriate food choice behavior. The food choice behavior of household respondents’ were affected by Perception, social, culture, changes in household income, access to food, farm practice and productivity, food prices and food local systems and this is important for program planners and policy makers to improve the well -being of all vulnerable rural households in the study area. Therefore, local government and nongovernmental organizations should give emphasis for improving food choice behavior through continuous training, asset building and capital mobilization. Agro- ecology based intervention should also be taken to improve the food choice behavior of rural households in the study area. Agricultural extension and public health/sanitary extension services should be trained to deliver mutually reinforcing messages that promote sustainable food production, improved dietary intakes, and improved sanitation and health.

  • Strangling by Design The Tragedy of Small Scale Farmers in Kenya

      Abstract: The agrarian economy in Kenya is characterized by diminutive benefits by most small scale farmers from the agricultural supply chain due to the venomous gluttony of the most central actors in the value chain. Small scale farmers are positioned as net losers in the whole agricultural value chain but can’t quit for survival reasons. While this is the reality in the country, small scale farmers find themselves in a quagmire of choosing their marauder; brokers or the government. The former is ruthless while the latter is a smokescreen. The study used descriptive statistics using SPSS software to depict the insatiable appetite by the middlemen and government captors who frustrates the agrarian economy in the country. There are no standardized metric measures that guide the buying of agricultural commodities at the farm gate by the middle men. Prices are malevolently dictated by the brokers where the farmers have to swallow the bitter pills due to their economic detriments. The government on the other hand makes payments at their own pace without considering the economic survival of the farmers. Time value for money is not a factor in government’s institutions and breach of contracts has been a norm. For a country that aspires to be food secure, the import mentality of agricultural produces by ‘tenderpreneurs’ must be dismantled from the onset. Frustrating local production to pave way for the lucrative import business is a mistake that no nation can afford to commit especially if it’s the only sector it has a comparative advantage in.

      Abstract: Comparative research of the entrepreneurial University VS innovator and students who have studied a curriculum that promotes entrepreneurship and those who did not. Hypothesis 1, the student who receives entrepreneurial training has more developed innovative and entrepreneurial skills. Hypothesis 2, there is no difference between one student and another. The population is made up of 522 students from various Universities in Mexico. In order to identify the profile of the entrepreneurial and innovative University, the Ranking 2018 was used as well as an Instrument Barometer INCODE (innovation competences development) to determine the Ez of the students, which is a learning program of the European Union. The results showed the importance of fostering the innovative ability of the student, curricular and extracurricular, since this is a cross-cutting skill that all professionals require to undertake any project or strategy with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation demanded by the environment and the entrepreneurial University in all contexts. The study gives us the opportunity to develop the transversal skills in line with the mission of the University. Also, the challenge of transition from the University of teaching to the entrepreneurial and innovative University.

  • Working-class Organizations and Alternative Economic Discourses Evidences
           on the Socialization and Demobilization of Spanish Urban Workers

      Abstract: Based on qualitative interviews, participant observation and archival research, this article tests the importance of labour organizations in workers’ development of a complex understanding of the economic system. More concretely, it offers a comparison of the discourses of Spanish urban workers with different levels of participation in these organizations. Then, this study presents an apparent paradox, the very same alternative economic discourse that allows workers to challenge the dominant economic discourses acts as an element of demobilization. What is more, the article reveals that the lack of renewal within neighbourhood organizations and neighbourhood leaderships, and the prevalent use of the rhetoric of the 1970s labour movement are at the core of this demobilization.

  • The Implementation of 7 Smart Reading Strategies in Improving Students’

      Abstract: The objective of this research is to find out whether or not the Implementation of 7 Smart Strategy Reading can improve the reading comprehension of the first grade students of SMA 9 Makassar. The research used pre-experimental method. The population of this research was the first grade students of SMA 9 Makassar. The sample was 20 students . Based on the result of the data, there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the students’ improvement in reading comprehension. It indicated by the mean score of students’ post-test which was higher than the mean score of the students’ pre-test (86.5>64). Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of 7 Smart Reading Strategy can improve the students’ reading comprehension.

  • The transposition of a Philosophy subject matter. C.S. Peirce as

      Abstract: The school mediation acts as ‘integration’ (Chocran, 1997) of a subject matter: it transforms cultural objects and produces new knowledge. Referring to the theoretical model of PCK (Pedagogical Content Knowledge - Shulman, 1986, 1987), of ‘Didactic transposition’ (Chevallard, 1991; Develay, 1992, 2015; Waquet, 2015) and to a previous study addressing the process of integration of a Philosophy subject matter (G.B. Vico, Agrati, 2019), this study was conducted on the I phase of transposition that is made by the editors and authors of textbook through the contents selected (Kang & Kilpatric, 1992; Clement, 2007; Vaz, 2017).The paper presents further results of a second exploratory study aimed at detect the main topics of C.S. Peirce, found in textbooks and how these have been made explicit by the texts/graphic organizers. The textbook analysis (O’Keeffe, 2013; Chiappetta et al., 1993) was carried out through a comparison of textual-graphic devices used by two philosophy textbooks: it was conducted on the index of the entire textbook and on the sections related to the American philosopher and it used ‘ad hoc’ analysis criteria - content (selection of topics and prevailing links), structure (sequence and articulation of topics within the whole work) and language (meaning of terms and technical vocabulary) (Valverde at al., 2002; Rivers, 1990).The findings are about the contents’ modification - more extended or more reduced compared to the main topics (v. belief, abduction, semiotics) - and the topics’ explication (v. neologisms and metaphors); they confirm and make explicit the work of transformation made by the textbooks' authors which elaborate a 'knowledge to teach' (Develay, 2015) different than the 'scholarly knowledge' and that could condition the teaching process and the student's learnings.

  • Contraptions and STEM education a Brazilian case study

      Abstract: In a Media & Education course of Mathematics and Natural Sciences graduations two teams of four students had to develop from scratch a contraptionwith at least 10 steps that embodied different types of knowledge from at least two natural sciences (for instance, Chemistry and Physics) in several steps and included one scientific experiment. Students also needed to explain to their colleagues of the other team the content knowledge embodied in their machine and the experimental results they obtained with the machine. One team developed a 10-step contraption that included knowledge from Chemistry and Physics and that ended with a Chemical experiment (a glass fell on a candle in the middle of a dish full of water; when the candle was extinguished the oxygen was substituted by water). At first the students of this team could not fully explain the experimental result: they mentioned air pressure differences but did not explain why pressure is involved. The other team developed a 11-step contraption that included only knowledge from Physics, and as its ninth step showed a Physics experiment (the energy needed to overcome the resistance of gravity). The students failed to recognize the experiment.Using the variation theory of learning principles, the professor asked students for scientific full explanations that three days after they needed to give to their classmates. The experiment explanationswere given very satisfactorily.

      Abstract: An important development in higher education is the demand to adopt new educational technology and information to frame student success. In response, Moodle Learning Management Platforms (LMP) provide informal and formal curricula which brings challenges to lecturers and they seem reluctant to embrace it for student success. This article presents a qualitative critical action research of three out of eight lecturers. Purposive with convenience sampling were used to choose the three most accessible lecturers who were teaching science modules. The article aimed to explore lecturers’ reflections on the impact of Moodle curricula on student success. The lecturers’ reflective activity and one-on-one semi-structured interview were utilized for data generation. This was driven by two research question namely: what are lecturers' reflections on and in the use of Moodle curricula to attain student success' and why do lecturers reflect on and in use of Moodle curricula using particular ways to attain student success'. Inductive and deductive processes were used to ensure qualitative guided analysis of the generated data. Triangulation, transferability, dependability, confirmability and credibility was maintained to ensure trustworthiness. The study concluded that lecturers were using formal reflections to be more familiar with formal curriculum than informal curriculum of Moodle, and this impaired student success. Consequently, this article recommends lecturers to use reflective process to align informal with formal Moodle curriculum in order to attain student success.

  • Teaching English Vocabulary by Using Last One Standing Game at the Third
           Grade Students of SMP Tamalate Makasar

      Abstract: The objective of this research is to find out the use of Last One Standing Game in improving the students’ vocabulary mastery at the third grade students of SMP Tamalatea Makassar. In this research, the researcher uses pre-experimental method. The total sample was 18 students and it used total sampling technique. The result showed that the students’ mean score in pretest was 24.17 and the students’ mean score in posttest was 77.22. It means that the students’ mean score in posttest was higher than the students’ mean score in pretest. Based on the data above, the researcher concludes that the use of Last One Standing Game can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery of SMP Tamalatea Makassar.
