Perlakuan NPK 100% memperoleh hasil tertinggi pada komponen hasil namun tidak berbeda nyata dengan semua perlakuan yang lain.ABSTRACTShallots are one of the important spices for people in Indonesia. Efforts to increase shallot production in a sustainable way can be done by using organic fertilizer. Liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from banana peel waste is one of alternative solutions considering the large amount of banana peel waste in the research area, Gunung Sindur, Bogor. The aim of this research is to study the effect of LOF application from kepok banana peels on the growth and production of shallot by reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. The research was carried out in the gardens of the Al Ghozali Modern Islamic Boarding School from the end of December 2020 until the beginning of March 2021. The research design used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments, namely 100% NPK fertilizer (2.50 g) as a control, 30 ml kepok banana peel LOF  + 50%  NPK (1.25 g), 40 ml kepok banana peel LOF + 50% NPK (1.25 g), 50 ml kepok banana peel LOF + 50% NPK (1.25 g), 60 ml kepok banana peel LOF + 50% NPK (1.25 g). The results showed that all doses of kepok banana peel LOF with the addition of 50% NPK could be equivalent to 100% NPK treatment on the growth and production of shallots. The 100% NPK treatment obtained the highest results in the yield component but was not significantly different from all other treatments.

Isolat C. musae memiliki tingkat patogenisitas lebih tinggi dibandingkan C. gloeosporioides.ABSTRACTAnthracnose disease is one of the post-harvest diseases in bananas during storage that causes the fruit to rot and be damaged before it ripens. Anthracnose disease in bananas is caused by the fungi Colletotrichum musae and C. gloeosporioides. The study aims to determine the pathogenicity of C. musae and C. gloeosporioides isolates and the resistance of several banana cultivars. The study was conducted from November 2021 to January 2022 at the Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University. The experiment was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design with a factorial pattern. The first factor is the banana cultivar and the second factor is the fungal isolate. The parameters observed were the colony color, the incubation period, and the severity of the disease. The results showed that the C. musae colony was white and C. gloeosporioides was grayish white, the shortest incubation period occurred in bananas inoculated with C. musae. Based on the severity of the disease, the response of banana fruit is divided into very susceptible (Tanduk), susceptible (Barangan, Mas, Awak, and Raja) and somewhat resistant (Kepok). Inoculation of C. musae and C. gloeosporioides isolates on Tanduk banana fruit can increase the severity of the disease and the short incubation period compared to Kepok banana fruit. C. musae isolates have a higher pathogenicity level than C. gloeosporioides.

  • Status Gula dan Hara pada Daun Serta Status Gula pada Buah Manggis Selama
           Fase Perkembangan Buah

    • Authors: Dhika Prita Hapsari, Roedhy Poerwanto, Didy Sopandie, Edi Santosa, Deden Derajat Matra
      Pages: 44 - 52
Kandungan glukosa dan fruktosa paling tinggi terdapat pada buah manggis yang memasuki fase pematangan buah.ABSTRACTMangosteen production fluctuates year by year because of imbalance nutrient in plant. Plant produces a lot of fruit with smaller size during “on season”, while few of fruit with bigger size during “off season”. On the other hand, the high fruit drop occurred when “on season” because mangosteen tree is not able to hold too many fruits. This experiment was conducted to obtain the information of nutrient status on mangosteen tree and explain the fluctuation of nutrient and sugar in one harvset period. The result show that mangosteen had a very high ratio between leaves and fruit, i.e 142:1. The changes of nutrient content during fruit development were found in potassium (K) and calcium (Ca), B (boron), Cu (copper), Zn (zinc) which have a critical role in fruit set process. Limitation of sugar translocation in the beginning of fruit development stage was occurred. It shows by the high content of sugar in leaves along with the low content of sugar in mangosteen fruit. The highest glucose and fructose content in mangosteen fruit was found on the beginning of maturation stage.
