Authors: Mekkanti Manasa Rekha, Simron Chettri, Pooja ., S. Gowtham Pages: 38 - 61 Abstract: Abstract:Background: First aid, though beneficial is not given a lot of importance in most countries which leads to inadequate knowledge and practice of first-aid among the general publicAim and Objectives: A study on impact of clinical pharmacist-based toolkits in management of first aid. The main objective of the study is to assess and promote knowledge of emergency situations and first aid techniques and tools that are used in those situations in order to prevent mortality and promote recovery. Methods: A prospective observational and interventional study was conducted in order to assess the knowledge of people about various emergency conditions and the first aid measures used in those conditions. A total of 100 subjects ranging between the age of 20 to 50 years were taken and the study was conducted in the area, RT Nagar Bangaluru from January to September 2022. The before and after data that was collected via a questionnaire was tabulated in Microsoft excel and statistical analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics, Chi-square and Fisher’s exact test. Results: A total of 100 subjects were undertaken in the study, among which were male and were female. We initially assessed their knowledge about various emergency conditions and the first-aid measures to be taken along with first-aid kit and its uses. The initial knowledge percentage was among subjects before the intervention which later was after the intervention. The differences in the knowledge of the subject before and after the intervention varied to a great extent. Conclusion: This study was done to promote the importance of first-aid knowledge among people and at the end of the study we saw a significant increase in the knowledge of the subject undertaken in the study. P- Value is <0.001 which states that the following study was highly significant. Keywords: First aid kit, Prospective, KAP (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice) PubDate: 2023-04-03 Issue No: Vol. 9, No. 3 (2023)

Authors: Abhijeet Sande, Vinit Patil, Prasad Karande, Ashwinirani S.R Pages: 1 - 6 Abstract: The genus Candida contains around two hundred different species. For over a decade, health authorities and institutions around the world have been on edge due to the unprecedented rise of Candida auris as a multidrug-resistant fungal pathogen, which poses a serious global threat due to its potential to cause nosocomial outbreaks and deep-seated infections with staggering transmissibility and mortality. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other international organisations have classed it as an urgent concern due to its unique traits not discovered in other yeasts. Epidemiological warnings have also been issued because of the C. healthcare-associated A. auris epidemics in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic. In this overview of the relevant literature, we compile the most recent findings about C. auris, from virulence to treatment and outbreak control, with a focus on identifying knowledge gaps and potential research areas since its initial description. Candida auris, virulence, pathogenesis, epidemiology, candidaemia, antifungal drugs, outbreak, and diagnosis are the focus of the present study. PubDate: 2023-05-20 Issue No: Vol. 10, No. 1 (2023)

Authors: Bhavin M.Chavda, Bharat D. Kalsariya, Darshan K. Parmar Pages: 7 - 13 Abstract: Trinakantamani Pishti was prepared by reference of Bheshaja Samhita, Bhasma-Pishti Prakarana 1 , which is indicated for Vataja, Pittaja and Kaphaja Galagraha, Gala Granthi, Gandamala. Aim- to standardize Trinakantamani Pishti pharmaceutically. Methods- Trinakantamani Pishti was prepared as per reference of Bheshaja Samhita, Bhasma-Pishti Prakarana and it was analysed by various sophisticated instrumental analysis method like SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Particle size analysis (PSA).Results: SEM analysis showed the particle size ranging between 409.5 nm at 4Kx magnification and 327.5 nm at 10Kx magnification. EDAX analysis showed that Trinakantamani Pishti is mainly composed of Carbon (70.02%) and Oxygen (29.01%).. There is no any corresponding data found regarding XRD peaks obtained by analysis in JCPDS reference card.Particle size of Trinakantamani Pishti is 349.4 nm +-285 nm in size. Sathish Pages: 14 - 22 Abstract: The infectious disease tuberculosis (TB), which is brought on by a particular type of bacteria, typically affects the lungs. When infected individuals cough, sneeze, or spit, the virus is disseminated through the air. There are ways to prevent and treat tuberculosis. According to estimates, the TB pathogen has infected around a quarter of the world's population. A cough that lasts longer than three weeks, together with the possibility of phlegm or blood-tinged mucus, are signs of TB. feeling weary or worn out. a fever or sweats during the night.appetite loss. decrease of weight.having a bad overall feeling. It is crucial to comprehend how such subpopulations of M.tb are created during human infection in order to create better medication combinations that efficiently target various mycobacterial phonotypes. Ganesh, Payal Rajput, RK Singh, Shivam Chourasiya, Alibha Rawat, Alka Tiwari, Sarfaraz Hanfi Pages: 28 - 32 Abstract: Simarouba glauca is considered a very valuable medicinal herbal drug used to treat diarrhea and dysentery; hence, its bark is known as dysentery bark. Different parts of the tree treat different ailments. The bark and leaf extract of Laxmi taru (Simarouba glauca) is efficiently known for its anti-helmanthic, anti-parasitic, anti-dysentric, and anti-cancerous properties.
