Authors: K. Samson, M. Varalakshmi, K. Prathima Pages: 1 - 14 Abstract: Nano-biopharmaceutics involves delivery of biopharmaceutical product through different biomaterials like multi-functional nanoparticles, quantum dots, aquasomes, super-paramagnetic iron oxide crystals, and liposomes dendrimers. Aquasomes are considered as one of the most recently developed delivery systems for bioactive molecules like peptides, proteins, hormones, antigens and genes to specific sites. Aquasomes have a spherical shape and a particle size of 60–300 nm. These are three layered self-assembled nano-particulate carrier system. This three-layered structure has a polyhydroxy oligomer coated centre into which biochemically active molecules are adsorbed. Three types of core material are used to produce aquasomes; Tin oxide, Nano-crystalline carbon ceramics (diamonds) and Brushite (calcium phosphate dihydrate). Because of their high degree of order and structural regularity, ceramics are commonly used as core materials. Carbohydrate coating have aqueous environment and this protects active drug molecule from dehydration. There by it improves stability of active drug molecule. The current review provides an overview of the aquasomes as a promising tool for drug delivery. It includes brief introduction of aquasomes, self-assembling principles, composition of aquasomes, objectives, properties, advantages, methods of preparation, characterization study and therapeutic applications as a drug delivery system PubDate: 2021-12-27 Issue No: Vol. 12, No. 3 (2021)

Authors: Sarika Sanap, Ramdas Dolas Pages: 1 - 6 Abstract: Citicoline is a medication that is used to treat Alzheimer's disease. Citicoline is a nootropic (brainboosting) substance. It's utilized to treat brain insufficiency as well as other neurological conditions like stroke, trauma, and Parkinson's disease. The results of published analytical methods for the determination of Citicoline in biological and pharmaceutical formulations are summarized in this review article. Various techniques such as Spectrophotometry, liquid chromatography (LC), highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultra-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatographic method were reported. Authors: S.N. Wagh, V.A. Chatpalliwar Pages: 15 - 49 Abstract: The present manuscript describes the designing of novel 2, 3-Substituted-1-(4-(Piperidin-1-yl) butyl)-1H-indol-5-ol derivatives as specific estrogen receptor alfa modulators and their screening by docking studies to determine the binding interaction for the best-fit conformations in the binding site of the ERα receptor. Based on the results of docking studies, the selected ligands reveal the all-important functional groups of the ligands that interact with active amino acid residues in the targeted cavity. Which, if persist in molecules may elicit the desired response in vitro. Amongst the designed derivatives, a ligand which shown better binding energy comparable with standard, Raloxifene. Whereas ligand B60, 59, 65 were found to interact suitably with the active amino acid residues in the targeted cavity that are reported to be involved in interaction with the standard. From the present results, we conclude that designed derivatives have the potential to modulate ERα receptor effectively which can be synthesized and tested for their effectivity, in vitro and in vivo against breast cancer. Authors: Chandani Kamble, Vikas Kamble Pages: 50 - 55 Abstract: Cosmetics ate the demand of incredible from ancient times. Lipstick formulations are used to the enhancement of the beauty of lips these are the cosmetic product which contains pigments, oil, waxes, and emollients that apply the color and protection to the lips. Herbal lipstick by using coloring pigments of watermelon and these are evaluated for organoleptic properties that are hardness solubility etc. The present work was conceived formula of herbal lipstick having minimal side effects or no side effects. This will be extensively used by the women. The adverse effect can be reduced by using natural color extracts from watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) is a natural source. This can be observed from the fact that lipsticks are marketed in hundreds of shades of colors to satisfy the demand of women. The present investigation was done on the formulation of lipstick since lipsticks are one of the key cosmetics to be used by women. An attempt was also made to evaluate the formulated herbal lipstick. We envisaged the current effort to formulate a herbal lipstick with minimum or no side effects employing formulation lipstick due to numerous undesirable effects of present synthetic preparations. Authors: C.R. Rathi, S.N. Suresh Pages: 56 - 65 Abstract: Bio friendly green modest synthesis of nanoparticles are the present research in nanotechnology. This study has been undertaken to explore the determinants of copper nanoparticles from 1 mM CuSO4 solution through profuse concentration of aqueous flower extract of Mirabilis jalapa reducing besides immobilizing agent. The attribute of copper nanoparticles was studied by using UV-VIS spectroscopy SEM and XRD. The XRD spectrum of the copper nanoparticles established the presence of elemental copper signal. Green synthesized copper nanoparticle manifests the zone of inhibition against isolated human pathogenic (Streptococcus species, Bacillus species, Staphylococcus species, Klebsiella species and E. coli) bacteria. The analytical chassis contains the flower pigment betalain the natural food dye resources can efficiently use in the production of copper nanoparticle and it could be utilized in various fields in therapeutical and nanotechnology. Authors: S K Godasu, D. Varun, Narmada Valla Keerthi, Mohathasim Billah A, S.A. Sreenivas Pages: 66 - 74 Abstract: Objective:A New method was established for simultaneous estimation of Prazosin and Polythiazide by RP-HPLC method. Methods:Chromatographic separations were carried using HPLC equipped with Auto Sampler and PDA Detector, Discovery (150 x 46 mm, 5mm) column with a mobile phase composition of Buffer and ACN: taken in the ratio 60:40 (60:40 v/v) have been delivered at a flow rate of 1ml/min and the detection was carried out using waters HPLC auto sampler, separation module 2695 HPLC system with PDA detector at wavelength 270 nm. Results:The retention time for Prazosin and Polythiazide were 2.316 and 3.176 minute respectively. The correlation coefficient values in linearity were found to be 0.999 and concentration range 10-50 μg/ml for Prazosin and 20-100 µg/ml for Polythiazide respectively. For accuracy the total recovery was found to be 100.12% and 100.34% for Prazosin and Polythiazide. LOD and LOQ for Prazosin 0.079 and 0.240 μg/mL, LOD and LOQ for Polythiazide 0.03 and 0.08 μg/mL. Conclusion:The results of study showed that the proposed RP-HPLC method is a simple, accurate, precise, rugged, robust, fast and reproducible, which may be useful for the routine estimation of in Prazosin and Polythiazide bulk and fixed dose combination form.
