  • Aplicación de hongos entomopatógenos y producto tecsil para el control
           

    • Abstract: El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el efecto de la aplicación de dos cepas de Beauveria bassiana procedentes de Probioma y de la Asociación Siempre, un producto Tecsil y un testigo (agua) para el control de chinches en estadio ninfal y adulto de cacao hibrido en cuatro Comunidades en el Municipio de Alto Beni. Los productos a emplear previamente fueron disueltos a una concentración de 1x10(12) conidios ml-1, al cual se adicionó un coadyuvante emulsificante, cada tratamiento se asperjó 10 mi al inicio del ensayo. En cada Comunidad se tenían 16 árboles, a 4 de ellos se le aplicó los controladores: 2 de Beauveria bassiana, 1 de Tecsil y un testigo (agua), y a la vez a la mitad, es decir a 2 árboles, se encapsuló un fruto con 15 ninfas, y a los otros dos árboles, en dos frutos se incorporó con 15 chinches adultos. Los chinches adultos presentaron mayor porcentaje de mortalidad de 37% en relación a un 25% de las ninfas a los 8 días de evaluación. Con la aplicación de los controladores, las dos cepas de Beauveria bassiana presentaron mayor efectividad en el porcentaje de mortalidad, de las cuales la Beauveria bassiana procedente de Probioma fue más efectiva que la Asociación Siempre, ocasionando un 62% y 37% de mortalidad de chinches respectivamente. Sin embargo, con la aplicación de agua (testigo) y el producto Tecsil causaron una baja tasa de mortalidad de 9 a 16% respectivamente. La interacción entre estadio y el efecto del producto de Beauveria bassiana en el tiempo letal medio, el de Probioma, fue en el registró de 5 y 7 días para causar muerte un 50% de los chinches en estadio adulto y ninfa. No obstante, el producto de la Asociación Siempre, el tiempo requerido fue de 8 y 14 días para adultos y ninfa para causar un 50% de mortalidad.The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of the application of two strains of Beauveria bassiana from Probioma and the Siempre Association, a Tecsil product and a control (water) for the control of bed bugs in the nymph and adult stage of hybrid cocoa in four Communities in the Municipality of Alto Beni. The products to be used previously were dis solved at a concentration of 1 x 10(12) conidia ml-1, to which an emulsifying adjuvant was added, each treatment was sprayed 10 mi at the beginning of the trial.   • Redes neuronales multicapa y convolucionales para el reconocimiento del
           lenguaje de señas boliviano : una evaluación empírica

    • Abstract: The deaf community is a social stratum with lots of struggles in daily life, chiefly cause for communication difficulties with the general public. Although each country has its sign language, which is the case of Bolivian Sign Language(BSL). However, only few people know it. Different approaches have been proposed to perform gesture recognitions and help people to translate sign language to a particular language, including neural networks. However, little is known about the effectiveness of the neural networks to detect Bolivian Sign Language (BSL). This paper proposes and evaluates the use of two neural network techniques, multilayer (MLP) and convolutional(CNN), to recognize Bolivian Sign Language. Our approach takes as input the most significant frames from a video using a motion-based algorithm and applying a border detection algorithm in the selected frames. We present an experiment on which we evaluate these techniques using 60 videos of four basic BSL phrases. As a result, we found that MLP has an accuracy which ranges between 65% and 88%, and CNN ranges from 95% and 99%, depending of number of neurons and internal layers used.La comunidad de sordos es un estrato social con muchas luchas en la vida diaria, principalmente causa de dificultades de comunicación con el público en general. Aunque cada país tiene su lengua de signos, como es el caso de la Lengua de Signos Boliviana (BSL). Sin embargo, pocas personas lo saben. Se han propuesto diferentes enfoques para realizar reconocimientos de gestos y ayudar a las personas a traducir el lenguaje de señas a un idioma en particular, incluidas las redes neuronales. Sin embargo, se sabe poco sobre la efectividad de las redes neuronales para detectar el lenguaje de señas boliviano (BSL). Este artículo propone y evalúa el uso de dos técnicas de redes neuronales, multicapa (MLP) y convolucional (CNN), para reconocer el lenguaje de señas boliviano. Nuestro enfoque toma como entrada los fotogramas más significativos de un video utilizando un algoritmo basado en movimiento y aplicando un algoritmo de detección de bordes en los fotogramas seleccionados. Presentamos un experimento en el que evaluamos estas técnicas utilizando 60 videos de cuatro frases BSL básicas. Como resultado, encontramos que MLP tiene una precisión que varía entre 65% y 88%, y CNN varía entre 95% y 99%, dependiendo del número de neuronas y capas internas utilizadas.
       
  • Aplicación de la Economía Circular mediante el aprovechamiento máximo
           de la Piña (Ananas comosus )

    • Abstract: Actualmente, la mayoría de los procesos productivos son fabricados bajo la tendencia de una economía lineal, es decir, una economía desechable. En efecto, en la industria actual se generan desechos que no son reciclados o reusados, generando un daño ambiental. Y al analizar la composición de la basura generada se puede observar que más de la mitad es de origen orgánico, por tanto, esto nos muestra que la basura que generamos puede ser re-usada o reciclada, más si se trata de residuos agroindustriales. El presente trabajo se basa en el diseño de productos a través de los componentes de la Ananas comosus, mediante una nueva alternativa, la cuál es la Economía Circular. Con el objetivo de generar productos, los cuales consisten en la elaboración de bioetanol a partir del corazón del fruto, fibra natural a partir de las hojas de la corona, papel a partir de las cascaras y, finalmente de la pulpa obtener mermelada. Además, se realizó un análisis de factor ambiental y económico para establecer la sostenibilidad del proceso. Todos los productos mencionados se los realizaron siguiendo la tendencia de una Economía Circular y con ello poder demostrar que si es posible cambiar de un sistema basado en una economía lineal a una circular.Nowadays, most of the productive processes are manufactured under the trend of a linear economy, it means, a disposable economy. In effect, in today's industry waste is generated that is not recycled or reused, generating environmental damage. And when analyzing the composition of the garbage generated, it can be observed that more than half is of organic origin, therefore, this shows us that the garbage we generate can be reused or recycled especially if it is agro-industrial waste. The present work is based on the design of products through the components of the Ananas comosus, through a new alternative, which is the Circular Economy. With the aim of generating products, which consist of the production of bioethanol from the heart of the fruit, natural fiber from the crown leaves, paper from the peels and, finally, from the pulp to obtain jam. Moreover, an analysis of the environmental and economic impact was made to stablish the sustainability of the process. All the products mentioned were made following the trend of a circular economy and thus being able to demonstrate that it is possible to change from a system based on a linear economy to a circular one.
       
  • Integrando métodos de evaluación de riesgos de deslizamientos e
           inundaciones en cuencas del Tunari y zona de Alto Cochabamba

    • Abstract: El estudio enfatizó una evaluación de riesgos en dos cuencas piloto de la cordillera del Tunari (K'hora en Tiquipaya y Kaquerama en Sacaba) y en la zona de Alto Cochabamba. Se utilizaron tres métodos integrales: i) Evaluación participativa (cualitativa y cuantitativa) de riesgo, ii) Mapeo de vulnerabilidades de deslizamientos con SIG y iii) Corrida de modelos hidrológicos e hidrodinámicos bidimensionales para simulación de inundaciones. Existe un alto grado de riesgo de incendios forestales y mazamorras; riesgo medio de inundaciones y deslizamientos, con elementos vulnerables altamente expuestos (urbanizaciones) en las torrenteras de ambas cuencas y en la zona de Alto Cochabamba. Se evidencia una falta de mantenimiento de obras estructurales de reducción de riesgos y muy baja implementación de nuevas obras. Las simulaciones muestran que hay un amplio rango de inundación principalmente en la parte media y baja de la cuenca afectando poblaciones establecidas, servicios básicos y medios de vida en general.The study emphasized a risk assessment in two pilot basins in the Tunari mountain range (K'hora in Tiquipaya and Kaquerama in Sacaba) and in the Alto Cochabamba area. Three comprehensive methods were used: i) Participatory evaluation (qualitative and quantitative) of risk, ii) Mapping of landslide vulnerabilities with GIS and iii) Run of two-dimensional hydrological and hydrodynamic models for flood simulation. There is a high degree of risk of forest fires and mazamorras; medium risk of floods and landslides, with highly exposed vulnerable elements (urbanizations) in the streams of both basins and in the Alto Cochabamba area. There is evidence of a lack of maintenance of structural works to reduce risks and very low implementation of new works. The simulations show that there is a wide range of flooding mainly in the middle and lower part of the basin affecting established populations, basic services and livelihoods in general.

Los reactivos necesarios para la acetalización como SOCl2, SO3 fueron sintetizados a partir de sustancias obtenidas localmente. El acetato de celulosa fue formulado ajustándolo con diferentes proporciones de glicerina, obteniéndose finalmente un plástico flexible, con una densidad de 1.05 ± 0.1 g/cm³, humedad de 6.19 ± 0.24%, absorción de agua de 8.26 ± 0.2%, elongación de 2.25% (bajo una fuerza de 0.147 N durante 6 dias a 20°C, correspondiendo a un módulo de elasticidad de 0.0075 kg/cm²), y una biodegradabilidad por composteo correspondiendo a una pérdida en peso del 8.71% al cabo de 5 días.Cellulose acetate was synthesized from cellulose extracted from an endemic species, V. Tucumanensis, Reagents required for the acetalization like SOCl2, SO3 were synthesized starling from common over the counter substances. The resulting product was formulated with different proportions of glycerin until a flexible product was obtained and characterized as having 1.05 ± 0.1 g/cm³ density, 6.19 ± 0.24% humidity, 8.26 ± 0.2% water absorption, 2.25% elongation (under 0.147 N at 20°C for 6 days, equivalent to a 0.0075 kg/cm² elasticity modulus), and 8.71% weight loss biodegradability under composting conditions.
       
  • Aplicación del modelo Rothermel a la gestión de riesgo de incendio en la
           región de la Chiquitanía, Santa Cruz Bolivia

    • Abstract: En el presente estudio se trata de plantear el modelo Rothermel de propagación de incendios para utilizarlo en la región de la Chiquitania, Santa Cruz-Bolivia, muy afectada en los últimos años por incendios forestales, en particular en regiones que son reservas naturales. Este modelo es muy utilizado en las montañas Rocallosas en Estados Unidos siendo un componente muy importante de la Gestión Integrada de Incendios Forestales. Se desarrolló este modelo con la intención de que posteriormente forme parte de la gestión integrada de incendios en la Chiquitania, además de tener una biblioteca en versión Beta que calcule el índice de Quema, uno de los principales índices que se obtienen a partir de este mismo modelo. El modelo a pesar de su relativa complejidad, tiene una utilidad bastante marcada en la prevención y mitigación de catástrofes ambientales generadas por los incendios forestales, a pesar de requerir una gran cantidad de datos hay bastante investigación sobre este modelo, que ha sido aplicado en muchas partes del mundo, en particular en las montañas Rocallosas en EEUU y Canadá, en la gestión de riesgos de incendio. Se revisó la literatura sobre este modelo y se aplicó a incendios tipo superficie; a partir de ello se generó un código en Python en versión Beta que tiene la capacidad de obtener uno de los índices más importantes, como ser el índice de quema (Burning índex, en Ingles) el cual utiliza como base de cálculo las formulaciones de Rothermel.The present study tries to propose the Rothermel model of fire propagation to be used in the Chiquitania region, Santa Cruz-Bolivia, which has been heavily affected in recent years by forest fires, particularly in regions that are natural reserves. This model is widely used in the Rocky Mountains in the United States and is a very important component of Integrated Forest Fire Management. This model was developed with the intention that it later become part of the integrated fire management in Chiquitania, in addition to having a Beta versión library that calculates the Burning Index, one of the main índices obtained from this same model. Despite its relative complexity, the model has a fairly marked utility in the prevention and mitigation of environmental catastrophes generated by forest fires, despite requiring a large amount of data there is a lot of research on this model, which has been applied in many parts of the world, particularly the Rocky Mountains in the US and Canada, on fire risk management.
