  • Selection model for beginners to Systems Engineering using 4Q Model and
           based on professional and working profile

    • Abstract: Resumen Una de las dificultades que se presentan en los programas universitarios es la articulación entre todo el proceso de formación durante el período de formación y el logro del perfil profesional y laboral de los futuros egresados. Este pareciera ser un detalle insignificante pero la ausencia de esta minucia ha llevado a que se tengan que implementar mecanismos de validación y acreditación que posibiliten verificar que lo que se le plantea a un estudiante desde el 1er semestre es lo que va a lograr cuando culmine su plan de estudios y se gradúe. En el presente estudio se han tomado como prueba tres universidades públicas y tres privadas y, a partir de sus respectivos perfiles profesionales y laborales, se ha aplicado el modelo 4Q de preferencias de pensamiento bajo una propuesta metodológica con el ánimo de realizar una selección de aspirantes que, en algún sentido, brinden una garantía mayor en el logro de dichos perfiles de manera que los esfuerzos que realice la institución sean, en su mayoría, efectivos. Este planteamiento metodológico parte de la premisa de que, si la selección de aspirantes a un programa de formación profesional tiene unos fundamentos apropiados, el proceso podrá llegar a ser tan efectivo que, en gran medida, pueden alcanzarse los perfiles profesionales y laborales que se hayan formulado desde la perspectiva del plan de estudios. La aceptación y efectividad del modelo 4Q en este tipo de procesos, abre las posibilidades de que la metodología propuesta sea útil para las instituciones de educación superior.Abstract One of the difficulties that arise in university programs is the articulation between the entire training process during the training period and the achievement of the professional and employment profile of future graduates. This seems to be an insignificant detail, but the absence of this minutia has led to the need to implement validation and accreditation mechanisms that make it possible to verify that what is posed to a student from the 1st semester is what he will achieve when he finishes his curriculum and graduate. In the present study, three public and three private universities have been taken as evidence and, based on their respective professional and labor profiles, the 4Q model of thinking preferences has been applied under a methodological proposal with the aim of making a selection of applicants that, in some sense, provide a greater guarantee in the achievement of such profiles so that the efforts made by the institution are, for the most part, effective. This methodological approach is based on the premise that if the selection of candidates for a vocational training program has appropriate foundations, the process may become so effective that, to a large extent, the professional and labor profiles that have been formulated can be achieved from the perspective of the curriculum. The acceptance and effectiveness of the 4Q model in this type of process open up the possibilities that the proposed methodology will be useful for higher education institutions.
       
  • Design of a playful in positive communication as a tool for training in
           the organizations

    • Abstract: Resumen La capacitación en comunicación positiva favorece la supervivencia de las organizaciones ante contextos cambiantes. Este proceso formativo requiere el uso de metodologías activas de aprendizaje, siendo la lúdica una alternativa. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo diseñar una lúdica en comunicación positiva como herramienta de capacitación en las organizaciones. Se utilizó la metodología propuesta por el Comité Estatal para la Ciencia y la Técnica de Rusia para el diseño de la lúdica, que fue validado a través del criterio de 10 expertos (M=40%-H=60%), de los cuales el 80% tenían doctorado o maestría, en promedio 14 años de experiencia laboral y 12 en docencia e investigación. El 80% de los indicadores evaluados (claridad descriptiva, correspondencia objetiva, pertinencia y viabilidad) se consideran muy adecuados y el 20% (coherencia) bastante adecuado. Se concluye que la lúdica propuesta puede ser una herramienta útil para capacitar en prácticas de comunicación positiva. Se recomienda su aplicación en organizaciones de distintos sectores.Abstract Training in positive communication favors the survival of organizations in changing contexts. This training process requires the use of active learning methodologies, with playful activities being an alternative. The objective of this study was to design a playful activity in positive communication as a training tool for organizations. The methodology proposed by the State Committee for Science and Technology of Russia was used for the design of the ludic, which was validated through the criteria of 10 experts (Female= 40% - Male= 60%), of which 80% had a doctorate or master's degree, on average 14 years of work experience and 12 years in teaching and research. The 80% of the indicators evaluated (descriptive clarity, objective correspondence, pertinence, and feasibility) are considered very adequate and 20% (coherence) quite adequate. It is concluded that the playful proposal can be a useful tool to train in positive communication practices. Its application may be recommended in organizations of different sectors.
       
  • The water poverty index for Mexico: a comparison with OECD countries

    • Abstract: Resumen Ante la preocupación por la escasez de agua en el mundo y la persistencia de bajos índices de desarrollo y altos de marginación, pobreza, desigualdad y deterioro ambiental, el propósito de esta investigación es conocer la situación que guarda México en la pobreza hídrica (PH), para lo cual se diseña una estrategia de cálculo del Índice de Pobreza Hídrica (IPH), acotado entre 0 máxima y 100 menor pobreza, el cual se compara con una muestra no probabilística de países pertenecientes a la Organización para la Cooperación y Desarrollo Económico (OCDE), a la cual pertenece México. Los países incluidos en el estudio se seleccionan bajo el criterio de existencia de los indicadores elegidos para la estimación de la PH. El IPH se estima con el método de índice compuesto y balanceado estadísticamente con el Análisis de Componentes Principales (PCA) para detectar la correlación entre sus variables de agregación y así evitar su doble conteo. Como resultado de la estrategia de cálculo del IPH se halló innecesaria la eliminación de alguna variable y se conservaron los cinco indicadores que lo componen: Recursos, Uso, Acceso, Capacidad, y Medio Ambiente. La estimación mostró que el IPH de México fue el menor (mayor grado de PH) comparado con el observado en los países en estudio, en concordancia con el rezago del país respecto a factores socioeconómicos, lo cual confirma la necesidad de la atención integral a la problemática del agua, para evitar la incompleta visión que representa la sola medida de cobertura de servicios de agua y saneamiento.Abstract Motivated by concerns about water scarcity in the world and the persistence of low rates of development and high levels of marginalization, poverty, inequality and environmental deterioration, the purpose of this research is to probe the water poverty (WP) of Mexico, by means of implementing a procedure to calculate the Water Poverty Index (WPI), ranging from 0 as maximum and 100 as least poverty, and compare it with a non-probabilistic sample of countries belonging to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), of which Mexico is a member. The countries included in the study are selected under the criterion of existence of the indicators chosen to estimate WP. The WPI is estimated using the composite index method, statistically balanced with the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to detect the correlation between its aggregated variables to avoid double accounting. As a result of the calculation procedure, any elimination of variables was found unnecessary and the five indicators, Resources, Use, Access, Capacity, and Environment, were maintained. The estimation showed that the WPI in Mexico was the lowest (higher WP) compared to that observed in the sample of countries, in accordance with the country's lag regarding socioeconomic factors, findings that confirm the need for comprehensive attention to the water issues in order to avoid the incomplete vision that represents the sole measuring of coverage of water and sanitation services.
       
  • Water footprint of avocado crop cv. Hass (Persea americana Mill.), at Soil
           Conservation District Barbas - Bremen, Quindío, Colombia

    • Abstract: Resumen Se empleó la Huella Hídrica como indicador de la sostenibilidad ambiental de un cultivo de aguacate cv. Hass (Persea americana Mill.) ubicado en la zona sur de la reserva natural denominada Barbas Bremen, bajo la categoría de Distrito de Conservación de Suelos, en jurisdicción del departamento del Quindío. Lo anterior, permitió realizar una descripción general del cultivo, así como determinar los componentes de la huella hídrica verde proveniente de la precipitación (3630 m3/ton), la huella hídrica azul captada de las fuentes corrientes naturales (0,0 m3/ton) y finalmente la huella hídrica gris relacionada a la contaminación hídrica (1315 m3/ton); estimando así, una huella hídrica total de 4.945 m3/ton correspondiente a dos ciclos de producción de frutos en un año, entre abril de 2019 a 2020 de acuerdo al comportamiento fenológico del cultivo. Así mismo, se formularon algunas recomendaciones tendientes a propiciar una mejor gestión del recurso hídrico en el cultivo aportando al desarrollo ambientalmente sostenible del área de conservación desde la unidad de estudio.Abstract The Water Footprint was used as an indicator of the environmental sustainability of an avocado crop cv. Hass (Persea Americana Mill.) Located in the southern area of the nature reserve called Barbas Bremen, under the category of Soil Conservation District, in the jurisdiction of the department of Quindío. The above allowed a general description of the crop to be made, as well as to determine the components of the green water footprint from precipitation (3630 m3/ton), the blue water footprint captured from natural current sources (0,0 m3/ton), and finally the gray water footprint corresponding to water pollution (1315 m3/ton); thus estimating a total water footprint of 4945 m3/ton corresponding to two cycles of fruit production in one year, between April 2019 and 2020 according to the phenological behavior of the crop. Likewise, some recommendations were formulated to promote better management of the water resource in the crop, contributing to the environmentally sustainable development of the conservation area from the study unit.

El presente documento analiza criterios para la evaluación del perfil de carga mediante la identificación de las firmas de consumo, realizando el estudio de cargas conectadas en un ambiente controlado, con el fin de proponer un procedimiento para la identificación de las misma, verificando el comportamiento de dichas cargas en una red eléctrica.Abstract The quality of the power grid has become a very important aspect to measure the quality of the electric service, which implies greater interest in knowing the characteristics of the network, also having information about incidents makes it possible to analyze events, disturbances that stand out in the electrical system preventing the effects they cause. This article analyzes criteria for the evaluation of the load profile through the identification of the consumption signatures, carrying out the study of connected loads in a controlled environment, in order to propose a procedure for the identification of it, verifying the behavior of loads in an electrical grid.
       
  • Extraction of phenolic compounds and content of catechin in barks of three
           forest species from Cauca-Colombia

    • Abstract: Resumen Se evaluó el contenido de catequina en cortezas de las especies forestales Pinus patula, Pinus oocarpa y Eucaliptus grandis, cultivadas en el Departamento del Cauca-Colombia. Los extractos eceetanólicos se obtuvieron evaluando las mejores condiciones de tamaño de partícula, tiempo de agitación, relación disolvente-corteza, temperatura y agitación. El contenido de catequina se determinó usando cromatografía líquida de alta resolución (HPLC) con detector ultravioleta y empleando extracción en fase sólida (SPE) para la limpieza de las muestras. Se encontró un contenido de catequina de 2.00±0.03%, 2.96±0.02% y 0.18±0.03% en cortezas de P. patula, P. oocarpa y E. grandis respectivamente. Este contenido de catequina indica el gran potencial en aplicaciones industriales y medicinales para un recurso renovable como la corteza, abundante en la región y cuya disposición en campo afecta ambientalmente las zonas forestales.Abstract The catechin content in barks of the forest species Pinus patula, Pinus oocarpa and Eucaliptus grandis, cultivated in the Department of Cauca-Colombia, was evaluated. The ethanol extracts were obtained by evaluating the best conditions of particle size, agitation time, solvent-bark ratio and temperature. The catechin content was determined using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet detector and using solid phase extraction (SPE) for sample cleaning. A catechin content of 2.00 ± 0.03%, 2.96 ± 0.02% and 0.18 ± 0.03% was found in barks of P. patula, P. oocarpa and E. grandis respectively. Catechin content indicates the great potential in industrial and medicinal applications for a renewable resource such as bark, abundant in the region and whose field disposition environmentally affects forest areas.
       
  • Validation of an electronic prototype for fertigation and greenhouse
           control

    • Abstract: Resumen En este artículo se presenta el procedimiento de validación de un prototipo electrónico de fertirrigación y control ambiental en un invernadero. La metodología compara la información recopilada en sitio, confrontado el efecto de las acciones de control sobre las variables fisicoquímicas del suelo cercanas a la raíz de la planta y la de su ambiente circundante. La información recopilada en el tiempo es analizada para identificar y evaluar el desempeño del hardware, así como la funcionalidad del controlador. Los resultados permiten evidenciar el aporte de método introducido, dado que se logra validar el prototipo en cada una de las etapas del proceso de control, manteniendo los valores de las variables evaluadas, cercanos al valor de referencia. Finalmente, se logra controlar todas las variables con un único controlador, y se destaca la importancia de contar con interfaz de usuario en sitio y a través de la red para la gestión de controlador.Abstract This article presents the validation procedure of an electronic prototype of fertigation and environmental control in a greenhouse. The methodology compares the information collected on site, comparing the effect of control actions on the physical-chemical variables of the soil near the root of the plant and that of its surrounding environment. The information collected over time is analyzed to identify and evaluate the performance of the hardware, as well as the functionality of the controller. The results show the contribution of the introduced method, since it is possible to validate the prototype in each of the stages of the control process, keeping the values of the evaluated variables close to the reference value. Finally, it is possible to control all the variables with a single controller, and the importance of having a user interface on site and through the network for controller management.
