Abstract: The article considers the methods for choosing an economically optimal standard size of a cyclone-dust collector: choosing the optimal type, diameter and number of cyclones. The results of calculating the most profitable options (for given cleaning conditions), as well as economic and energy losses that may occur with an arbitrary choice of the cyclone type and the use of a simplified calculation method used today based on the recommended fixed values of the conventional gas velocity, are presented. Based on the technical and economic calculations, an analysis of the manufactured range of the most common NIIOGAZ cyclones has been performed; a number of missing options for cyclone standard sizes that would reduce the cost of cyclone gas cleaning have been detected. Abstract: On the basis of the developed mathematical model for the purification of fluids having a yield point in a cylindrical hydrocyclone by pressure flotation, the influence of the design parameter of hydrocyclone and the separation factor at different values of the plasticity number on the residual concentration of solid phase particles was analyzed. The developed mathematical model takes into account the action of forces of inertia, Coriolis, and the attached mass of the fluid. The system of partial differential equations describing the process of pressure flotation in a centrifugal field is reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations, which is solved numerically. The field of concentrations of solid particles is calculated, and the residual concentration is determined. PubDate: 2023-05-05

Abstract: On the basis of the Oberbeck–Boussinesq equations, this study formulates the problem of a Newtonian fluid motion in a rectangular cavity under the Stokes hydrodynamic approximation. The thermal and hydrodynamic subproblems are presented, and an analytical solution of the model equations is obtained using integral Fourier transforms with thermal boundary conditions of the second kind. As an application example, this study analyzes the dynamics of hydrothermal fields during liquid nitrogen storage, taking into account the incoming heat through the wetted surface. Abstract: Analytical dependencies for calculating the economically optimal value of the conditional gas velocity in a cyclone are identified taking into account both technical and economic parameters that affect the gas cleaning cost. A method for determining the optimal cyclone diameter and the number of cyclones corresponding to the minimum cost of gas cleaning taking into account the required dust collection efficiency is proposed. Based on the dependencies identified, it has been established that the recommended fixed values of the conditional gas velocity used today when selecting a cyclone are overestimated in most cases. Abstract: The article presents an algorithm for optimizing design parameters of redistribution plates for dispersing heavy phase in a packed extractor using the example of liquefied hydrocarbon gas demercaptanization column. Several ratios of the main design dimensions at which the distribution of continuous and dispersed phases is the best under the set conditions were obtained by the method developed for assessing the uniformity of flow distribution based on CFD analysis results. Abstract: A method for calculating a tubular electrobaromembrane apparatus with a nonuniform filtration area has been developed. Due to the addition of concentric cathode and anode membranes with protrusions of increased diameter, the tabular electrobaromembrane apparatus has an increased separation area per unit volume of the apparatus. The developed technique enables one to calculate the volume and weight of the apparatus and its environmental and economic efficiency in the separation of biologically active solutions. Abstract: The article presents the results of study of deformation of fluoroplastic Raschig rings loaded with transverse force under conditions of operation in column apparatuses of drying and absorption departments of sulfuric acid production plant. The moduli of elasticity of F-4MB and F-4TG fluoroplastic brands under these conditions were determined by computer modeling and full-scale experiment. Abstract: A computer simulation of the model liquid flow and liquid nitrogen in a centrifugal cryogranulator was performed. This work presents a good convergence of the results of computer modeling on a model liquid (water) and a full-scale experiment with model parameters, namely, the SST k–w-turbulence model together with equilibrium wall FlowVision functions. The field of liquid nitrogen flow velocities in the volume of the centrifugal cryogranulator is determined. PubDate: 2023-04-29

Abstract: This article discusses the concept of assessing the risk of defects in offshore subsea pipelines according to risk criteria, taking into account the characteristics of methods and means of nondestructive testing used in practice. The expansion of the practice of assessing the danger of defects in pipelines according to risk criteria will clarify the assigned safety factors and increase the reliability of calculations of the permissible sizes of defects. The work describes the most promising methods of pipeline repair, and in their range, special attention is paid to the repair method using crimped composite sleeves, which performs repairs at an existing facility in real operating conditions. Based on the results of testing the proposed repair technology on a real object, the method repairs reliably most defects in the base metal and welded joints of pipelines for the entire service life and restores its full functionality. Abstract: The article presents the results of studies of spraying multicomponent coal-water slurries with hot air. Coal, water, ethanol, and pyrogenetic liquid were used as fuel components. It has been established that, in comparison with a two-component coal-water fuel, the jet opening angle increases by 14–25%, which significantly increases the jet volume and the ignition zone. The droplets velocity in the jet increases by 9–13% when the air is heated by 50 K; with further heating, the increase in droplets velocity is insignificant (not more than 4%). It has been proved that spraying the studied coal-water slurries with hot air allows reducing the average droplet size in the jet by 7–12% compared to cold spraying (at 293 K). PubDate: 2023-04-29
