  • Tanfīż Taqwīm Muṭolāah Fī Żilli Jāiḥati Al-Wabā’

      Abstract: Assessment is an essential element in learning activities. Teaching-learning activities need an assessment to measure the learning progress to achieve the objectives. However, the pandemic caused a change in learning activities, leading to changes in the assessment process. This article aims to depict the assessment of the muthola'ah course during the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, this article used a qualitative method and employed a case study approach. The analysis in this article used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. This research was conducted at the Department of Arabic Language Education IAIN Ponorogo. This study indicated that the Taqdim Qissoh in the video was the suitable and effective way to assess muthola'ah material during the Covid-19 pandemic. This method could increase students' enthusiasm for preparing assessment material for Taqdim Qissoh. In addition, this method also eased the other students to understand the muthola'ah material. It also exercised the students’ analysis skills to determine the mistake of the Taqdim Qissoh process so they wouldn’t make the same mistakes later.   Kegiatan penilaian kelas merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, segala bentuk kegiatan pembelajaran membutuhkan proses penilaian untuk mengetahui ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Namun, masa pandemi menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan bentuk kegiatan pembelajaran, hal tersebut memicu perubahan bentuk pelaksanaan penilaian. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini untuk menjelaskan bentuk pelaksanaan penilaian materi muthola’ah selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Artikel ini ditulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, dan analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab IAIN Ponorogo. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Taqdim Qissoh dalam bentuk video merupakan cara yang tepat dan efektif digunakan untuk proses penilaian materi Muthola’ah selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan semangat mahasiswa dalam mempersiapkan materi ujian dalam bentuk Taqdim Qissoh. Selain itu, metode ini juga mempermudah mahasiswa lain dalam memahami materi Muthola’ah yang disampaikan. Serta melatih analisis siswa dalam menentukan kesalahan dalam proses Taqdim Qissoh supaya mereka tidak melakukan kesalahan serupa.

  • Taṭbīq Al-Manhaj Al-Takamuly Fī Mu’assasāt Al-Ta’līm Al-‘Āly

      Abstract: This study aims to (1) describe the idea of an integrated curriculum in higher education, (2) depict its implementation at the university level, and (3) find out the impact of the curriculum on university development. This research used a qualitative approach. It employed a literature study. The researchers gathered the data from book reviews and related journals. Data analysis involved collecting the data, sorting, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The findings showed that (1) the idea of an integrated curriculum was depicted in a tree-shaped scientific structure; (2) the integrated curriculum was done by requiring all students to learn Arabic and English, as well as providing opportunities for all students to memorize the Quran and practice Islamic life; (3) integrated curriculum contributed to accelerating the development and internationalization of institutions. Moreover, it improved human resources competencies. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan gagasan integrasi kurikulum pendidikan tinggi, (2) mendeskripsikan penerapan pemikiran tersebut di tingkat universitas, dan (3) mengetahui implikasi kurikulum terhadap perkembangan universitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kepustakaan. Data diambil dari resensi buku dan jurnal terkait. Analisis data dimulai dari mengumpulkan, memilah, menyajikan, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian adalah (1) gagasan integrasi kurikulum digambarkan dalam struktur ilmiah berbentuk pohon ilmu (2) penerapan integrasi dilakukan dengan mewajibkan semua mahasiswa untuk belajar bahasa Arab dan bahasa Inggris, serta memberikan kesempatan kepada semua mahasiswa untuk menghafal Al-Qur'an dan mengamalkan agama Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari (3) integrasi kurikulum berkontribusi pada percepatan pengembangan dan internasionalisasi institusi, serta peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia.

  • The Educational Philosophy of Traditional Pesantren Roudlotul Muhsinin
           Al-Maqbul: Integrating Future Education Values

      Abstract: This study explores why Pesantren al-Maqbul maintains a traditional education system from educational philosophy. This research was qualitative. These research findings are: (1) the reason Pesantren al-Maqbul still insists on maintaining the traditional education system cannot be separated from the construction of its educational philosophy; (2) the influence of the educational ontology basis of the Pesantren al-Maqbul on its educational goals can be identified from the tendency of monism which places Allah's revelation in the form of Al-Qur'an Hadith as the only authoritative source of knowledge; (3) the influence of the educational epistemological foundation of Pesantren al-Maqbul on its educational goals can be seen from Bayani's tendencies in its epistemology; (4) the influence of the axiological basis (values) on the educational goals of the Pesantren al-Maqbul can be seen from the tendency of Irfani's reasoning, which is visible in the Pesantren al-Maqbul.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri alasan pesantren al-Maqbul masih mempertahankan sistem pendidikan tradisional dalam perspektif filsafat pendidikan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan, yaitu: (1) Alasan Pondok Pesantren al-Maqbul masih mempertahankan sistem pendidikan tradisional tidak lepas dari konstruksi falsafah pendidikannya; (2) Pengaruh landasan ontologi pendidikan pondok pesantren al-Maqbul terhadap tujuan pendidikannya dapat diidentifikasi dari kecenderungan monisme yang menempatkan wahyu Allah dalam bentuk Al-Qur'an Hadits sebagai satu-satunya sumber otoritatif. pengetahuan. (3) Pengaruh landasan epistemologis pendidikan pesantren al-Maqbul terhadap tujuan pendidikannya dapat dilihat dari kecenderungan Bayani dalam epistemologinya. (4) Pengaruh landasan aksiologis (nilai-nilai) terhadap tujuan pendidikan pesantren al-Maqbul dapat dilihat dari kecenderungan nalar Irfani yang sangat terlihat di pondok pesantren al-Maqbul

  • Vocabulary Exposure to Islamic Institute Students Through An EFL
           Coursebook

      Abstract: The importance of vocabulary education in second and foreign language learning cannot be overstated. Teachers face a complex problem in teaching vocabulary because the English language contains hundreds of thousands of words, making it difficult to determine what to teach first. During their first semester at IAIN Ponorogo, students are exposed to English terminology by using a textbook required for English classes. The research aims to answer the following questions. They are 1) what are the coursebook's token types and sizes' (2) how many tokens, types, and word families are introduced in the coursebook' (3) what are the coursebook's vocabulary demands' (3) what vocabulary learning opportunities are offered in the coursebook' This study employed a corpus-based approach, and the analysis was carried out using RANGE, computer software. According to the findings, language learners who followed the coursebook were exposed to about 1,164-word families. Language learners need more vocabulary exposure from other sources to supplement the Nation's recommendation of focusing on the 2,000 most commonly used words. Pentingnya pendidikan kosa kata dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua dan bahasa asing memang tidak bisa diabaikan. Guru menghadapi masalah yang sulit dalam mengajarkan kosakata karena bahasa Inggris memiliki ratusan ribu kata, sehingga sulit untuk menentukan apa yang harus diajarkan terlebih dahulu. Mahasiswa semester satu di Institut Agama Islam Negeri Ponorogo mendapatkan paparan kosakata bahasa Inggris menggunakan buku teks yang digunakan di jurusan Tardris Bahasa Inggris dan jurusan lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan jawaban atas pertanyaan-pertanyaan berikut: 1) Apa jenis dan token buku ajar' (2) Berapa banyak token, jenis, dan keluarga kata yang diperkenalkan dalam buku pelajaran yang diteliti' (3) Apa tuntutan kosakata buku yang diteliti' (3) Kesempatan belajar kosakata apa yang ditawarkan dalam buku pelajaran yang diteliti' Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan RANGE, perangkat lunak komputer. Menurut temuan tersebut, pembelajar bahasa yang mengikuti buku pelajaran tersebut dihadapkan pada sekitar 1,164 keluarga kata. Pembelajar bahasa membutuhkan lebih banyak paparan kosakata dari sumber lain untuk melengkapi rekomendasi Nation untuk berfokus pada 2,000 kata yang paling umum digunakan dalam percakapan sehari-hari.

  • Analysis of Islamic Higher Education Quality Mapping Based on Student
           Service Satisfaction Using Multidimensional Scaling Method

      Abstract: This study aims to analyze the mapping of the quality of Islamic higher education based on the similarity of student service satisfaction. This study used ex-post-facto research with an explorative. It employed a descriptive design. The subjects consisted of students from various study programs at the FETT, the SII Ambon. Data were collected through student satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using Multidimensional Scaling. The results showed similarities in mapping the quality of Islamic higher education based on student service satisfaction from 6 study programs. It calculated the closest Euclidean distance between objects located in Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs or vice versa, where the proximity is 0.233. It indicates that the quality of education in student service satisfaction between Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs has the highest similarity compared to other study programs. The output of the MDS analysis obtained a stress value of 0.03671 (3.67%) and R2 of 0.99606. It represents an acceptable spatial map (R2 ≥ 0.6). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemetaan mutu pendidikan tinggi berdasarkan kemiripan kepuasan layanan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian expost facto yang berjenis deskriptif eksploratif. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa berbagai program studi dilingkungan FITK IAIN Ambon. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner kepuasan mahasiswa. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Multidimensional Scaling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil adanya kemiripan pemetaan mutu pendidikan tinggi berdasarkan kepuasan layanan mahasiswa dari 6 program studi dilingkungan FITK IAIN Ambon. Hal tersebut berdasarkan perhitungan jarak Euclidean terdekat antar objek terletak pada program studi Pendidikan Biologi dengan Pendidikan Agama Islam atau sebaliknya, dimana kedekatan tersebut berjarak 0,233. Maknanya mutu pendidikan ditinjau dari kepuasan layanan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Biologi dengan Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki tingkat kemiripan yang paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan program studi – program studi lainnya. Output analisis MDS diperoleh nilai stress sebesar 0.03671 (3,67%) dan R2 sebesar 0.99606. Hal ini menunjukkan peta spatial dapat diterima (𝑅2 ≥ 0,6).

  • The Challenge of The Integrated Character Education Paradigm with
           21st-Century Skills During The Covid-19 Pandemic

      Abstract: This study explores a new paradigm of character education with 21st-century skills through online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The researcher adopted a qualitative approach with the library research method. Research data were collected from primary and secondary sources such as books, proceedings, and journals. The collected data is then analyzed using descriptive content analysis by selecting, comparing, and presenting the data findings deductively. This research shows that students with 21st-century character and skills will become individuals who can take opportunities and face global development challenges. The findings of this study describe that online learning is an excellent opportunity for teachers to instill technology-based character values. An in-depth study is needed to complete this study by discussing the role of parents and teachers in instilling character education during online learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi paradigma baru pendidikan karakter dengan keterampilan abad 21 melalui pembelajaran online pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di Indonesia. Peneliti mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode kajian kepustakaan. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari sumber-sumber primer dan sekunder seperti buku, prosiding dan jurnal. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif dengan cara memilih, membandingkan dan menyajikan data temuan secara deduktif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang berkarakter dan memiliki keterampilan abad 21 akan menjadi individu yang mampu mengambil peluang, dan berupaya menghadapi tantangan perkembangan global. Temuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bahwa pembelajaran dalam jaringan menjadi kesempatan besar bagi guru untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter berbasis teknologi. Perlu dilakukan kajian mendalam untuk menyempurnakan kajian ini dengan membahas peran orang tua dan guru dalam menanamkan pendidikan karakter saat pembelajaran dalam jaringan.

  • Quality Assurance Islamic Perspective: An Alternative in Islamic-Based
           Public Education Institutions

      Abstract: This study aims to investigate the quality assurance according to Islam and the experience of its application in Islamic-based public education institutions. Quality assurance in education and other fields has been widely practiced in Indonesia. Many experts have discussed quality assurance, but it is still in education in general, not specifically religious education. However, it is still in the aspect of education generally, not specifically religious education. Religious education has a strategic and urgent role in instilling morals/noble character in the generation of the Indonesian nation. Therefore, Islamic religious education is given special attention in the 2013 curriculum and given additional hours of study to produce a generation of people who are moral, faithful, and pious. It is said that the better generation, the better the quality assurance of education. This research was a qualitative study. It was a case study. It was at Vocational High Schools Ma'arif Nahdhatul Ulama, Garut, West Java, Indonesia (SMK Ma'arif NU Garut). This study shows that the application of quality assurance in Islam must balance the religious and rationality values so that there is no paradox between the two, as was successfully implemented at SMK Ma'arif NU Garut. This success proves that no religious values contradict rationality, so it should be used as a basis to support or complement the theory/concept and practice of quality assurance in other Islamic-based public education institutions. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penjaminan mutu menurut Islam dan pengalaman penerapanya di lembaga pendidikan umum berbasis Islam. Penjaminan mutu dalam bidang pendidikan dan bidang lainnya, telah banyak dipraktekkan di Indonesia. Banyak pakar yang telah memembahas penjaminan mutu, tetapi masih dalam aspek pendidikan secara umum, belum pendidikan agama secara khusus. Pendidikan agama memiliki peran strategis dan urgen dalam menanamkan moral/akhlak mulia kepada generasi bangsa Indonesia. Karenanya, pendidikan agama Islam diberikan perhatian khusus dalam kurikulum 2013 dan diberikan tambahan jam belajar dengan tujuan untuk menghasilkan generasi bangsa yang bermoral, beriman dan bertaqwa. Generasi bangsa akan terwujud dengan baik, bila penjaminan mutu pendidikannya juga baik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Penelitian ini berbentuk studi kasus di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Ma’arif Nahdhatul Ulama Kabupaten Garut Jawa Barat Indonesia (cukup disebut SMK Ma’arif NU Garut). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan quality assurance dalam Islam harus menyeimbangkan antara nilai Ilahiyah dan nilai rasionalitas sehingga tidak muncul sebuah paradoks antar keduanya, sebagaimana sukses diterapkan di SMK Ma’arif NU Garut. Kesuksesan ini membuktikan bahwa ternyata nilai-nilai agama tidak ada yang bertentangan dengan rasionalitas sehingga patut dijadikan landasan untuk menunjang atau melengkapi teori/konsep dan praktek penjaminan mutu yang ada di lembaga pendidikan umum yang berbasiskan Islam lainnya.

  • Social Fiqh As The Spirit of Pesantren College

      Abstract: This research aims to take the values of social fiqh as the spirit of Pesantren College. This research employed literature research. Data sources were literature and various scientific works. This research develops social fiqh theory in education. Then, researchers used the Janice McDrury method with the collaborative group analysis of data theory to analyze the data. This process started from reading data, marking and studying keywords and themes, and coding to find the model searched for in the research. The research results show a void in the concept of Pesantren College, a new nomenclature in Higher Education under the Ministry of Religion. Furthermore, the researchers find that mainstream education ideology fails to provide a spirit for Islamic education, especially at Pesantren College. Considering the task of the caliph: worship (ibadatullah) and caring for life and earth (imaratul ardh), then Education should accommodate the needs of humans in carrying out these tasks. The manifestation of the caliphate task realizes human benefit for human life and universe goodness. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengambil nilai-nilai fiqh sosial sebagai spirit Perguruan Tinggi Pesantren. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menjadikan literatur dan berbagai buku ilmiah sebagai sumber data utama. Penelitian pengembangan ini akan mengembangkan teori fiqh sosial dalam bidang pendidikan. Untuk menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan Metode Janice McDrury  dengan teori Collaborative Group Analysis of Data. Proses ini berawal dari membaca data, menandai dan mempelajari kata kunci dan tema-tema serta koding untuk menemukan model yang dicari dalam penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian terhadap literatur yang ada, terdapat kekosongan konsep Perguruan Tinggi Pesantren yang merupakan nomenklatur baru dalam Pendidikan Tinggi di bawah Kementrian Agama. Lebih jauh peneliti mendapati adanya kegagalan ideologi Pendidikan mainstream dalam memberikan spirit bagi Pendidikan Islam, khususnya Perguruan Tinggi Pesantren. Mengingat adanya tugas kekhilafahan yang diemban manusia dengan dua fungsinya; ibadatullah dan imaratul ardh, maka pendidikan seharusnya mewadahi kebutuhan manusia dalam menjalankan tugas tersebut. Karena wujud dari tugas kekhilafahan adalah terealisasinya kemaslahatan bagi kehidupan manusia dan alam semesta.

  • Pesantren’s Politics and Policy in Bilingual Actualization Amidst The
           New Normal Era at PP Al-Iman Putri Ponorogo

      Abstract: The emergence of the da'wa movement shifted the political position in the Islamic struggle as an alternative political movement in realizing the idea of Islamic struggle. These new developments encourage the emergence of new developments of political thought among santri. Moreover, during the current Covid-19 pandemic, new political policies have emerged and rearranged the policy order to suit the current situation. Thus, a new habit emerges called the new normal in the pesantren setting. Likewise, one of the pesantren in Ponorogo, Pondok Pesantren Al-Iman Putri, has one of the featured programs for santri equipped with bilingual. It is Arabic and English. It is expected that santri will master Islamic religious knowledge and compete globally. The results showed that the politics and policies of pesantren implemented bilingualism during the new normal period at PP Al-Iman Putri Ponorogo. It prepared standard operating procedures enforced in it and adjusted to health protocols. Posisi politik dalam perjuangan Islam tergeser dengan munculnya gerakan dakwah sebagai alternatif gerakan politik dalam realisasi ide perjuangan Islam. Perkembangan baru tersebut mendorong timbulnya perkembangan baru pemikiran politik di kalangan anak muda santri. Apalagi pada masa pandemi Covid-19 saat ini muncul kebijakan politik baru dan menata ulang tatanan kebijakan agar dapat sesuai dengan keadaan yang sekarang. Sehingga muncul pembiasaan baru yang sering disebut new normal dalam tatanan pesantren. Begitu juga di salah satu pesantren di Ponorogo yaitu Pondok Pesantren Al-Iman Putri memiliki salah satu program unggulan santri dibekali dengan dwi bahasa yaitu bahasa Arab dan bahasa Inggris. Agar nantinya santri selain mampu menguasai ilmu agama Islam, santri juga dapat bersaing secara mendunia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum politik dan kebijakan pesantren dalam pelaksanaan dwi bahasa pada masa new normal di pesantren tersebut dengan menyiapkan SOP yang diberlakukan dan disesuaikan dengan protokol kesehatan.

  • Establishing Student Character Through The Implementation of Multicultural
           Values

      Abstract: This study investigates the implementation of multicultural values and students' character formation at the Faculty of Law. This study used experimental research with quasi-experimental. The sampling technique used cluster sampling. Primary data sources were students. Then, researchers gave multiple-choice item tests using the Likert Scale. The data interview was gathered from the Dean and Lecturers of AIK. Secondary data was obtained from documentation and literature. The research gave a pre-test and treated multicultural values. The data collection is in tests, non-tests (Likert scale), observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analyzed by t-test Independent-Sample T-Test. The finding shows that the character of the students of the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah, Palembang, experienced a significant increase after the application of multicultural values. The researchers conducted the study in moral knowing by applying the values of tolerance, democratic values, the values of equality, and the values of justice. The implication of these values makes Law Faculty students know moral values, have awareness and understand a good point of view. Second, researchers provide two-week student day activities in mosques, sports fields, and classrooms. During student day, the value of multicultural education is instilled. The effect obtained after student day is that students of the Faculty of Law have empathy, humility, and self-esteem. The third is moral action by conducting inter-religious dialogue in developing social intelligence. Implementing multicultural values – moral knowing, feeling, and action can shape students' character in everyday life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi nilai-nilai multikultural dan pembentukan karakter mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksperimen dengan Quasi-Experimental. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Cluster Sampling. Sumber data primer adalah mahasiswa secara langsung dengan memberikan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda, Skala Likert, dan wawancara kepada Dekan dan Dosen AIK. Data sekunder diperoleh dari dokumentasi dan kepustakaan. Langkah-langkah penelitian adalah: Memberikan pre-test, melakukan treatment dengan menerapkan nilai-nilai multikultural. Pengumpulan data berupa tes, non tes (skala likert), observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan uji-t Independent-Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan setelah penerapan nilai-nilai multikultural. Kajian yang peneliti lakukan berupa pengetahuan moral dengan menerapkan nilai-nilai toleransi, nilai-nilai demokrasi, nilai-nilai persamaan, dan nilai-nilai keadilan. Implikasi dari nilai-nilai tersebut membuat mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum mengetahui nilai-nilai moral, memiliki kesadaran dan memahami sudut pandang yang baik. Kedua, peneliti memberikan kegiatan student day selama dua minggu di masjid, lapangan olah raga, dan ruang kelas. Selama hari siswa, nilai pendidikan multikultural ditanamkan. Efek yang diperoleh setelah student day adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum memiliki empati, kerendahan hati, harga diri. Penerapan ketiga adalah tindakan moral dengan melakukan dialog antar umat beragama dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan social. Implementasi nilai-nilai multicultural baik secara moral knowing, moral felling maupun moral action bisa membentuk karakter mahasiswa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
