  • Measurement of Empathy in Bolivian Children: Adaptation and validation of
           the "Feel & Think" Scale of Garton and Gringart

    • Abstract: Resumen El presente estudio exploró las potencialidades de la escala Feel & Think (F & T) modificada por Garton & Gringart (2005) para medir la empatía en niños bolivianos entre 8 y 12 años. El instrumento adaptado incluyó dos factores y 12 ítems (6 para empatía afectiva y 6 para cognitiva). Los datos pasaron por valoraciones de fiabilidad, validez divergente, concurrente y constructo a través del Análisis de componentes Principales y del Análisis Factorial Confirmatorio. Los resultados mostraron una fiabilidad algo disminuida, aunque con relaciones significativas entre ítems; validez divergente adecuada comparando niños y niñas, validez concurrente significativa y validez de constructo que confirmó dos componentes (‘Sentir Preocupación’ y ‘Pensar en Ayudar’). Asimismo, el Análisis Factorial Confirmatorio arrojó valores aceptables en casi todos sus indicadores de ajuste del modelo. Finalmente, se discutió sobre la relevancia de sistemas convencionales y la conveniencia de innovar en la medición de la empatía infantil. The present study explored the potentialities of the Feel & Think (F & T) scale modified by Garton & Gringart (2005), to measure empathy in Bolivian children between 8 and 12 years old. The adapted instrument included two components and 12 items (6 for affective empathy and 6 for cognitive empathy). The data were tested through reliability assessments, divergent validity, concurrent validity and construct validity through Principal Component Analysis and through Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The results showed a likelihood somewhat diminished, although with significant relationships between items; an adequate divergent validity obtained when comparing boys and girls, a significant concurrent validity and a construct validity confirming two components (‘Feel Worry’ and ‘Think to Help’). Likewise, the Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed acceptable values in almost all model’s adjustment indicators. Finally, the relevance of conventional systems for measuring children's empathy and the convenience of innovation in the subject were discussed.Resumo O presente estudo explorou as potencialidades da escala Feel & Think (F & T) modificada por Garton & Gringart (2005) para medir a empatia em crianças bolivianas entre 8 e 12 anos. O instrumento adaptado incluiu dois fatores e 12 itens (6 para empatia afetiva e 6 para cognitivo). Os dados foram avaliações na sua confiabilidade, divergente, concorrente e validade de construto por meio da Análise de Componentes Principais e Análise Fatorial Confirmatória. Os resultados mostraram uma confiabilidade um pouco diminuída, embora com relações significativas entre os itens; validade divergente adequada comparando meninos e meninas, validade concorrente significativa e validade de construto que confirmou dois componentes ('Sinta Preocupação' e 'Pense em Ajudar'). Da mesma forma, a Análise Fatorial Confirmatória rendeu valores aceitáveis ​​em quase todos os seus indicadores de ajuste do modelo. Por fim, discutiu-se a relevância dos sistemas convencionais e a conveniência de inovar na mensuração da empatia infantil.
       
  • Distance psychotherapy: The tree of life, influence on the results of
           DASS-21

    • Abstract: Resumen El ingreso a la universidad es un factor estresante para los adolescentes, sumado el contexto de pandemia, pierden las rutinas propias de este hito, asumiendo sólo el rol académico. El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la influencia post intervención psicoterapéutica de El Árbol de la Vida, a distancia, en los resultados de la escala de Depresión, Ansiedad y Estrés (DASS -21), en periodo de pandemia, en estudiantes de primer año de obstetricia. La Investigación tuvo un diseño cuantitativo, descriptivo y longitudinal, con una muestra no probabilística por conveniencia de 40 estudiantes, que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y firmaron el consentimiento informado. La puntuación pre y post intervención se evaluó mediante la escala DASS-21, validada en Chile. Con relación a los resultados para las tres variables analizadas, se observó una diferencia significativa en la media de los puntajes post intervención psicoterapéutica. Como conclusión la aplicación de la escala DASS 21, logró pesquisar a las estudiantes que presentaban diversa sintomatología de tipo depresiva, ansiosa y/o de estrés, para poder aplicar la intervención, disminuyendo el puntaje en la sintomatología de severidad. Entering university is a stressful factor for adolescents, added to the context of the pandemic, they lose the routines of this milestone, assuming only the academic role. The objective of the research was to determine the post-intervention psychotherapeutic influence of The Tree of Life, at a distance, on the results of the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS -21), during the pandemic period, in first-year students. of obstetrics. The research had a quantitative, descriptive and longitudinal design, with a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 40 students, who met the inclusion criteria and signed the informed consent. The pre- and post-intervention score was evaluated using the DASS-21 scale, validated in Chile. Regarding the results for the three variables analyzed, a significant difference was observed in the mean scores after psychotherapeutic intervention. In conclusion, the application of the DASS 21 scale managed to investigate the students who presented diverse symptoms of a depressive, anxious and/or stress type, in order to apply the intervention, reducing the score in the severity symptomatology.Resumo O ingresso na universidade é um fator estressante para os adolescentes, somados ao contexto da pandemia, eles perdem as rotinas desse marco, assumindo apenas o papel acadêmico. O objetivo da pesquisa foi determinar a influência psicoterapêutica pós-intervenção da Árvore da Vida, à distância, nos resultados da Escala de Depressão, Ansiedade e Estresse (DASS -21), durante o período de pandemia, no primeiro ano estudantes de obstetrícia. A pesquisa teve delineamento quantitativo, descritivo e longitudinal, com amostra não probabilística de conveniência de 40 alunos, que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e assinaram o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. A pontuação pré e pós-intervenção foi avaliada por meio da escala DASS-21, validada no Chile. Em relação aos resultados para as três variáveis ​​analisadas, observou-se diferença significativa nos escores médios após a intervenção psicoterapêutica. Em conclusão, a aplicação da escala DASS 21 conseguiu investigar os alunos que apresentavam diversos sintomas do tipo depressivo, ansioso e/ou estresse, a fim de aplicar a intervenção, reduzindo a pontuação na sintomatologia de gravidade.

    • Abstract: Resumen La narrativa es un recurso literario que permite en numerosas disciplinas dejar un testimonio escrito de las actividades que una persona desarrolla. En el campo de lo educativo, la idea es escribir un relato que describa una experiencia en la que el docente es el protagonista. La posibilidad de transformar la experiencia en palabra escrita es documentar una experiencia que, de no hacerse, queda como una situación que solo queda como anclaje en el recuerdo. En el presente artículo se desarrolla el recuento en primera persona de una experiencia de docencia universitaria, en donde se muestran las técnicas y las estrategias sistémicas y constructivistas, para explicar conceptos sistémicos y constructivistas. Es decir, se utilizan dichos modelos para explicar los mismos modelos que se implementan para enseñarlos. El relato se somete a crítica y avales teóricos. The narrative is a literary resource that allows in many disciplines to leave a written testimony of the activities that a person develops. In the educational field, the idea is to write a story that describes an experience in which the teacher is the protagonist. The possibility of transforming the experience into the written word is to document an experience that, if not done, remains as a situation that only remains as an anchor in the memory. This article develops the account in the first person of a university teaching experience, where systemic and constructivist techniques and strategies are shown to explain systemic and constructivist concepts. That is, these models are used to explain the same models that are implemented to teach them. The story is subjected to criticism and theoretical endorsements.Resumo A narrativa é um recurso literário que permite em muitas disciplinas deixar um testemunho escrito das atividades que uma pessoa desenvolve. No campo educacional, a ideia é escrever uma história que descreva uma experiência na qual o professor é o protagonista. A possibilidade de transformar a experiência em palavra escrita é documentar uma experiência que, se não for feita, fica como uma situação que fica apenas como âncora na memória. Este artigo desenvolve o relato em primeira pessoa de uma experiência docente universitária, onde são apresentadas técnicas e estratégias sistêmicas e construtivistas para explicar conceitos sistêmicos e construtivistas. Ou seja, esses modelos são usados ​​para explicar os mesmos modelos que são implementados para ensiná-los. A história está sujeita a críticas e respaldo teórico.
       
  • Propiedades Psicométricas de la Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) en
           Estudiantes Ecuatorianos

    • Abstract: Resumen La Ansiedad es uno de los problemas psicológicos más comunes en la población general. La Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) ha sido, desde 1959, una de las medidas más usadas para evaluar los síntomas de ansiedad en diversas poblaciones. En este estudio se planteó evaluar las propiedades psicométricas de la HARS en población ecuatoriana. Se trabajó con una muestra no paramétrica de estudiantes universitarios, con una media de edad de 20,23 (DT = 2,06) años, donde el 51% fueron mujeres. Inicialmente se exploraron los factores a través del método de extracción de ejes principales con rotación promax, se encontraron dos factores que explican el 40% de la varianza total acumulada. Luego de obtener la extracción, se procedió a realizar la confirmación de la estructura factorial a través del uso de pruebas robustas (Mínimos Cuadrados Ponderados Robustos), confirmando la solución factorial explorada de dos factores (Ansiedad Psicológica y Ansiedad Somática). La evaluación de la consistencia interna asegura una adecuada relación entre sus reactivos (α = 0,88). Con la evidencia obtenida, se concluye que la HARS es una medida válida para evaluar la ansiedad en estudiantes ecuatorianos. The Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) has been, since 1959, one of the most widely used measures to assess anxiety symptoms in various populations. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the HARS in the Ecuadorian population. We worked with a non-parametric sample of university students, with a mean age of 20.23 (SD = 2.06) years, where 51% were women. Initially, the factors were explored through the main axes extraction method with promax rotation, two factors were found that explain 40% of the total accumulated variance. After obtaining the extraction, the confirmation of the factorial structure was carried out through the use of robust tests (Robust Weighted Least Squares), confirming the explored factorial solution of two factors (Psychological Anxiety and Somatic Anxiety). The evaluation of internal consistency ensures an adequate relationship between its reagents (α = 0.88). With the evidence obtained, it is concluded that the HARS is a valid measure to assess anxiety in Ecuadorian students.Resumo A ansiedade é um dos problemas psicológicos mais comuns na população em geral. A Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) é, desde 1959, uma das medidas mais utilizadas para avaliar sintomas de ansiedade em diversas populações. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar as propriedades psicométricas do HARS na população equatoriana. Trabalhamos com uma amostra não paramétrica de estudantes universitários, com média de idade de 20,23 (DP = 2,06) anos, onde 51% eram mulheres. Inicialmente, os fatores foram explorados através do método de extração dos eixos principais com rotação promax, foram encontrados dois fatores que explicam 40% da variância total acumulada. Após a obtenção da extração, a confirmação da estrutura fatorial foi realizada através da utilização de testes robustos (Robust Weighted Least Squares), confirmando a solução fatorial explorada de dois fatores (Ansiedade Psicológica e Ansiedade Somática). A avaliação da consistência interna garante uma relação adequada entre seus reagentes (α = 0,88). Com as evidências obtidas, conclui-se que o HARS é uma medida válida para avaliar a ansiedade em estudantes equatorianos.
       
  • Risk factors analysis in juvenile victims of sexual violence in La
           Paz-Bolivia

    • Abstract: Summary Sex education in Bolivia through different perspectives, one of them is, in the enactment of Education Law 070 Avelino Siñani-Elizardo Pérez which mandates that community nonschool education in young people be in force, as well as the subsystem of Non-school Education is put into effect in Bolivia. The role of social education is to prevent different types of sexual violence, which necessarily goes through an educational and training process. Therefore, the purpose of this work tries to answer the research question: What are the risk factors that exist in victims of sexual violence' In this last decade in Bolivia, laws (548 and 348) were enacted that sanction this type of crime in favor of women, children and adolescents. In the present investigation, it is proposed from the documentary and archive approach for the general contextualization in a descriptive way and later in a corroborative way between the risk factors and their statistical analysis of these in the applied investigation, where the filling of a form designed for the emptying of a series of interviews with victims of Sexual Violence among the Victims of Commercial Sexual Violence for after systematizing the data with which statistical analysis was carried out in SPSS, having results of different risk factors, Finally, it is concluded that emotional and family factors are the keys in the approach in social education towards this population group.Resumo A educação sexual na Bolívia através de diferentes perspectivas, uma de las está na promulgação da Lei de Educação 070 "Avelino Siñani-Elizardo Pérez" que determina que a educação comunitária não escolar em jovens esteja em vigor, bem como o subsistema de educação não escolar A educação é posta em prática na Bolívia. O papel da educação social é prevenir os diversos tipos de violência sexual, o que necessariamente passa por um processo educativo e formativo. Assim, u objetivo deste trabalho procura responder à questão de investigação: ¿Quais são os fatores de risco que existem nas vítimas de violência sexual' Nesta última década, na Bolívia, foram promulgadas leis (548 e 348) que sancionam esse tipo de crime em favor de mulheres, crianças e adolescentes. Na presente investigação, propõe-se a partir da abordagem documental e arquivística para a contextualização geral de forma descritiva e posteriormente de forma corroborativa entre os fatores de risco e sua análise estatística destes na investigação aplicada, onde o preenchimento de um formulário desenhado para o esvaziamento de uma série de entrevistas com vítimas de violência sexual entre as Vítimas de Violência Sexual Comercial para após sistematizar os dados com os quais foi realizada análise estatística no SPSS, tendo resultados de diferentes fatores de risco, os fatores familiares são a chave na abordagem da educação social para este grupo populacional.Resumen La educación sexual en Bolivia a traviesa por diferentes miradas, una de ellas está en la promulgación de la ley de Educación 070 Avelino Siñani-Elizardo Pérez que manda que la educación no escolarizada comunitaria en los jóvenes se encuentre vigente, así como el subsistema de Educación no escolarizada se ponga en vigencia en Bolivia. Se tiene que el rol de la educación social prevendrá diferentes tipos de violencia sexual, lo que necesariamente pasa por un proceso educativo y formativo. Por lo que, el propósito del presente trabajo trata de responder a la interrogante de investigación ¿Cuáles son los factores de riesgos que existen en víctimas de la violencia sexual' En esta última década en Bolivia se promulgaron leyes (548 y 348) que sancionan este tipo de delito a favor de las mujeres, niños y adolescentes. En la presente investigación se plantea desde el abordaje de documental y de archivo para la contextualización general de una manera descriptiva y posteriormente de una manera corroborativa entre los factores de riesgo y su análisis estadístico de estos en la investigación aplicada, donde se realizó el llenado de un formulario diseñado para el vaciado de una serie de entrevistas a las víctimas de violencia sexual entre las Víctimas de Violencia Sexual Comercial para después de sistematizar los datos con los cuales se realizó análisis estadístico en el SPSS teniendo resultados de diferentes factores de riesgo, finalmente, se concluye que los factores emocionales y familiares son la clave en el abordaje en la educación social hacia este grupo de población.
