Abstract: Career decision is subject to a range of influences and is not solely a rational and objective process but such that touches the subjective and affective domain of the individual. It, therefore, connotes that decision making of University Undergraduate is not independent on its own and so
factors that can enhance such decision making should be emphasized. On this premise, this study is therefore designed to examine Gender, Parental Education, Parental Involvement, Achievement Motivation and Internet Self Efficacy as correlates of Career Decision Making of university
undergraduates in Oyo State. The study employed descriptive research design that utilized an ex-post facto type. The study sample included 298 undergraduates in Oyo State. Career Decision Making Scale (CDMS) (á =0.65), Achievement Motivation (AMS) (á =0.94), Parental Involvement Scale (PIS) (á =0.89) and Internet Self efficacy- Revised (á =0.72), were adapted and used for collecting the data. Five hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance; data were analysed using t- test and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation statistical method. The findings of this study revealed that Parental Involvement (r =.113, df = 227, P < 0.05) and Achievement motivation had significant relationship with Career Decision Making (r = 0.42, df = 227, P < 0.05), while Internet Self Efficacy (r = 0.27, df = 227, P > 0.05) and Parental Education (r = .042, df = 227, P > 0.05) did not. It was also evident that there was no significant gender difference in the Career Decision Making among the respondents (t =.896, df =226, P > 0.05). Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended that Career Decision Making should be a priority in the university education programme as a way of curbing the menace of unemployment in the society.

Moment Correlation, the coefficient of 0.71 was obtained. Three hypotheses were formulated to be tested in the study. The data were analysed with chi-square at 0.05 level of significance. All the three hypotheses were not accepted. The findings revealed that the counsellors perceived that
counselling can be used to promote social values, social reconstruction and security and gender did not make them differ in their perception. Based on the findings, it was recommended that counsellors should promote social values through counselling. Also social reconstruction and

      Authors: Mulikat Ladi Mustapha
      Pages: 103 - 113
Abstract: The rising incidence of Sexually Transmitted Diseases especially among adolescents has continued to cause apprehension for various stakeholders.  Varying measures have been devised to promote sexual health knowledge of this age group with the aim that such would facilitate development of healthy sexual behaviours. Based on this, this study examined the sexual health knowledge and risky sexual behaviours of in–school adolescents in  Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State considering the influence of gender. The study was a descriptive survey of correlational type. A total of 385 randomly selected respondents participated in the study. A researcher-designed questionnaire with reliability coefficient of 0.80 was used to collect data for the study. The statistical tools employed in handling information gathered were percentage, Pearson's Product Moment Correlation and t – test. The findings of the study revealed high level of sexual health knowledge among the respondents (86.7%) and that one out of five  adolescents are involved in risky sexual behaviours. Appraisal of the null hypotheses revealed significant relationship between the sexual health knowledge and risky sexual behaviours of the respondents (r= 0.45) and considerable gender variation in the sexual health knowledge of in–school adolescents (t = 2.98 significant at .003). It is therefore recommended that school counsellors and other stakeholders should continue to sensitise students on sexual education especially the female. They should also embrace comprehensive sexuality education that will further reduce engagement in risky sexual behaviours among this age group.
