  • MHD Casson Flow over a Non-Linear Convective Inclined Plate with Chemical
           Reaction and Arrhenius Activation Energy

      This study examines the Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Casson flow passing over a non-linear convective inclined plate with incorporating a chemical reaction and Arrhenius activation energy. However, the magneto-hydrodynamic flow of two-dimensional radiative Casson fluid (CF) across a non-linear convective inclined plate in the existence of heat generation is addressed theoretically and numerically. The Arrhenius activation energy and chemical reaction are two additional impacts that have been added to the innovative nature of the model. By applying the appropriate transformations, PDEs (partial differential equations) were converted into coupled ODEs (ordinary differential equations) in terms of similarity variables combined with the boundary conditions. The finite difference method (FDM) and MAPLE 18.0 software were used to solve the resultant equations numerically. According to the findings, the thermal Grashof number and the mass Grashof number of the nano-fluid flow model were able to improve the strength of the drag coefficient, the rate of heat transfer at the surface of the plate, and the Sherwood number. Additionally, there was a reduction in the velocity gradient as the magnetic field strength increased. The concentration decreases when a chemical reaction is present, but it improves as the activation energy rises. These findings will help engineers create devices with strong heat and mass transfer rates. The results were compared to previously published research to assess their validity and discovered a large degree of consistency.

      The performance of a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery is highly dependent on its operating temperature. Therefore, the Li-ion battery cooling system needs to be investigated when designing a battery pack. The cooling system must be able to maintain the operating temperature of the battery without exceeding its maximum temperature, so that the performance and safety of the battery pack can be guaranteed. This study aims to determine the effect of C-Rate variations on the operating temperature of the NMC battery through a numerical investigation. Lithium-Ion 18650 batteries arranged in a battery module with a 5×5 configuration is evaluated using a forced-liquid cooling system, with water as the coolant. Numerical simulations were run using the ECM heat generation model at different discharge rates of 1C, 2C, 3C, 4C, and 5C for 720 s. The results obtained indicate that the increase in battery pack temperature is directly proportional to the increase in C-Rate. The operating temperature for the five discharge rates is still in the range of safe operating conditions for the battery pack with the maximum temperature difference is below 5°C.

      Over the past decade, there has been a steady rise in the application of laser sources; this has led to reduced costs and enhanced output. One aspect that has played a part and helped to the quickening of this phenomena is the invention of new techniques such as laser beam welding systems. These developments in technology have made it feasible to produce both tiny and large parts. The usage of nickel alloy can provide considerable benefits in a wide variety of contexts. The advantages acquired from combining difficult materials, such as metal alloys, are responsible for these benefits. Manufacturing equipment for the chemical, nuclear, maritime, aeronautical, and automotive industries all rely on components made from Inconel 625. It can withstand potentially corrosive situations without losing its outstanding mechanical qualities. Investigation of nickel alloy weldments is required for the improvement of the production method. The goal of this piece is to develop an ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) based on Grey theory that can reliably forecast LBW variables. The values predicted by the model were compared with the results of the experiments, and it was discovered that the values found in the experiments are closely related to the values anticipated by the model. The manufacturer can make decisions that are more in accordance with the available facts due to the evidence provided by the performance investigation.

      Hard nitride coatings has an important role for enhancing the wear resistance of metallic materials, thus increasing the life time of the products in industries. In this paper reviews the different methods of coating techniques, methods of PVD, mechanical properties of TiN coatings and wear resistance of titanium nitride-based coatings by physical vapor deposition (PVD) techniques. Thus the various approaches for enhancing the corrosion and wear resistance are categorized and summarized. The advantages, disadvantages and applications of Nitride based coatings are discussed.
