      Abstract: The Study of structure and compotition of invasive species in protected peat forest area of ​​the Sungai Buluh, Tanjung Jabung Timur was conducted from April to September 2020. This research was conducted in open space area. Data were collected with systematic sampling method in 2 x 2 m plot in tree long transects 500 m. Every transect has 5 plots with the same distance of 100 m, so that the total plots are 25 plots. The data obtained were analyzed to determine the importance value indeks of plant species, diversity indeks and Eveness index of plants in the location. Based on the identification results, were found 31 invasive spesies in Protected Peat Forest Sungai Buluh. Cynodon dactylon was found high Important Value Index 28.60%. Diversity index was found  2,65 and the value of the evenness index 0,77 in research location.

      Abstract: Hutan gambut merupakan hutan tropis dan menjadi sumber daya alam yang unik yang dapat mendukung keanekaragaman flora dan fauna termasuk amfibi. Hutan gambut sering mengalami kebakaran pada saat musim kemarau. Kebakaran dapat mengancam kelangsungan hidup sejumlah flora dan fauna tak terkecuali amfibi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan komposisi amfibi serta untuk mengetahui indeks keanekaragaman dan kemerataan amfibi di Hutan Lindung Gambut (HLG) Tanjung Jabung Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES) yang dikombinasikan dengan transek. Transek merupakan transek akuatik yang dibuat sepanjang 500m. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan Indeks Shannon Wiener dan dengan menghitung kemerataan jenis. Hasil penelitian yaitu jenis amfibi yang didapat ada 4 jenis (Fejervarya limnocharis, Fejervarya cancrivora, Hylarana erythraea dan Pulchrana baramica). Nilai keanekaragaman tergolong sedang dengan nilai H’= 1, 03. Hal ini menunjukkan secara ekologis kondisi habitat di HLG Londerang mampu untuk mendukung keberadaan jenis amfibi. Nilai kemerataan jenis amfibi menunjukkan nilai E= 0,74 yang berarti pensebaran amfibi tergolong cukup merata.

      Abstract: This research aimed to determine the percentage of protective antibody titers of Avian influenza (AI) and the application of biosecurity in Filipino chicken farms in Gorontalo City. This research used direct observation of the application of biosecurity on farms, and data on Avian influenza antibody titers were obtained based on the results of tests conducted during the intership at Class II Agricultural Quarantine Center of Gorontalo. Data analysis was carried out ini a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the percentage of protective antibody titers for Avian influenza (AI) in the 3 Filipino chicken farms was 3.22% in farm ZD, 0% in farm MCY, and 0% in farm AT. The percentage obtained shows that the presence and spread of Avian influenza in the 3 Filipino chicken farms in Gorontalo City is still low. The application of biosecurity on farms shows that the 3 Filipino chicken farms in Gorontalo City were focused on isolation and sanitation, although the implementation was still lacking in detail and comprehensiveness. The focus of biosecurity on isolation and sanitation components causes weaknesses in traffic control components.       Abstract: Sorghum is one type of cereal plant that has great potential to be developed in Indonesia because it has a wide adaptation area. Sorghum has been known and cultivated for a long time in several regions in Indonesia. The opportunity to increase production through increasing productivity is still very large because up to now the productivity that has been achieved is only 60% of the potential yield of each new variety that has a potential yield of 6 tons / ha. One of the causes of low sorghum production is due to minimum fertilization and nutrient-poor soil. Efforts that can be made to keep crop production balanced will require innovation in the supply of environmentally friendly plant nutrients, one of which is by utilizing bagasse waste into organic fertilizer. The study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency which was located at an altitude of 35 m above sea level and Ultisol soil type. The study aimed to determine the effect of bagasse compost on the growth and yield of sorghum and to obtain a dose of bagasse compost that can provide the best growth and yield of sorghum. This study was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with one factor, namely the dose of organic bagasse organic fertilizer consisting of 4 levels of treatment. The treatment used in this study was (P0) administration of inorganic fertilizers, (P1) administration of 5 tons / ha bagasse organic fertilizer, (P2) giving 10 tons / ha bagasse organic fertilizer, (P3) giving bagasse organic fertilizer 15 ton / ha. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, age of flowering, root dry weight, plant dry weight, panicle length, seed weight per plant, weight of 1000 seeds, and yield per hectare. The results showed that bagasse compost treatment had a significant effect on plant height. However, there was no significant effect on the number of leaves, age of flowering, root dry weight, dry weight of plants, panicle length, weight of 1000 seeds and dry seed weight of planting and harvest index

      Abstract: Kurma (Phoenix dactylifera L.) merupakan tanaman tahunan yang hidup di wilayah iklim tropis seperti di Negara Timur Tengah dan Afrika Utara. Perluasan budidaya tanaman kurma secara tradisional masih dibatasi oleh kemampuan tanaman untuk menghasilkan bibit baru dalam jumlah banyak, seragam, dan dalam waktu singkat. Perbanyakan pada kurma dapat diproduksi cepat dengan inisiasi biji secara in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan menentukan konsentrasi terbaik GA3 tunggal dan kombinasi GA3+BAP terhadap perkecambahan dari eksplan biji (Phoenix dactilyfera L.) secara in vitro. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Terpadu, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Riau dari bulan Mei–September 2020 dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 10 (sepuluh) perlakuan yaitu kontrol, GA3 tunggal (2,5; 5; 7,5 mg/l) dan dikombinasikan dengan BAP (1 mg/l dan 2 mg/l). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian GA3 tunggal dan dengan BAP berpengaruh nyata terhadap waktu muncul akar dan panjang akar dari eksplan biji kurma (Phoenix dactilifera L.). Pada perlakuan 2,5 mg/l GA3 adalah konsentrasi terbaik untuk waktu muncul akar tercepat yaitu 5,50 HST. Panjang akar terbaik di antara semua perlakuan pada perlakuan 5 mg/l sebesar 6,36 cm.

  • IDENTIFIKASI JENIS MAKROALGA COKELAT (PHAEOPHYTA) DI PERAIRAN PANTAI BLUE

      Abstract: Macroalgae have an important role in the coastal environment and human beings. Unfortunately, the research on species identification of macroalgae is very poor. On the other hand, data collection of macroalgae is essential to be used for effectiveness in conservation efforts for coastal ecosystem resources. Thereby, the identification of macroalgae is needed, particularly for brown algae as the database that can be used in the management of coastal resources in Tomini Bay. This research was conducted for 45 days, from November 15 to December 29, 2020, in the Blue Marlin Beach, Tomini Bay, Gorontalo City. GPS coordinate, sea current, seawater temperature, and waves were measured with Fishing Points Software. Sample collection was performed by a search method. Each specimen that was found was kept in a plastic zipper bag and stored in a coolbox containing an ice-cube to maintain the fresh sample. After collection, the specimens were carried out to the laboratory for identification and measurement as soon as possible. The results show three brown algae species in the Blue marlin Beach, i.e., Padina australis, Turbenaria decurrens, and Sargassum polycystum. The average of seawater temperature, sea current, and waves during the study is 31 C, 0.1 m/s, and 0,2 m, respectively.

      Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mempelajari penularan penyakit CVPD  melaluivektor Diaphorina citri  stadia imago dan nimfa pada jeruk Siem dan Rough Lemon. Percobaan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial dua faktor.Faktor Kultivar  Jeruk (Rough  Lemon, dan Siem)  diletakkan  sebagai  faktor  pertama,  sedangkan  fakor   stadia  vektor (Nimfa, dan Imago) sebagai faktor kedua. Empat kombinasi perlakukan masing-masing diulang 5 kali.Tiap perlakuan terdiri dari 2 pot tanaman percobaan.Data respons tanaman terhadap penyakit CVPD yang diinokulast melalul vektor D.citri berbeda stadia diperoleh dengan menghitung:1) masa inkubasi yang diperoleh dengan cara mengamati lamanya waktu yang diperlukan tanaman sejak diinokulasi patogen sampai timbulnya gejala pertama;2) persentase daun klorosis yang diperoleh melalui pengamatan daun sampel yang diambil secara acak dan dihitung jumlah daun yang klorosis dari jumlah daun tanaman sampel, 3) persentase cabang yang bergejala, diperoleh dengan menghitung jumlah cabang yang bergejala dari jumlah cabang seluruhnya per tanaman tiap perlakuan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masa inkubasi penyakit CVPD, persentase daun klorosis, dan persentase daun bergejala lebih cepat dan lebih tinggi pada jeruk Siem dibandingkan dengan pada jeruk Rough Lemon, baik yang ditulari melalui inokulasi dengan D. citri stadia imago maupun stadia nimfa. Tetapi penularan melalui inokulasi D. citri pada stadio imago lebih cepat memunculkan masa inkubasi, persentase daun, klorosis, dan persentase cabang bergejala lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan stadia nimfa. Jeruk siem dan penularan penyakit CVPD melalui D. citri stadia nimfa dapat dijadikan cara deteksi dini penyakit CVPD pada jeruk

  • EFEK RESIDU BIOCHAR SEKAM PADI DAN PUPUK KANDANG AYAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN
           DAN HASIL TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.)

      Abstract: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek residu biochar sekam padi dengan pupuk kandang ayam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung.Penelitian dilaksanakan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi dari bulan April sampai dengan Agustus 2019, satu tahun setelah penelitian biochar pada tanaman jagung dilaksanakan pada lokasi yang sama. Sebagai rancangan lingkungan digunakan rancangan acakkelompok (RAK) 3 ulangan sesuai dengan rancangan penelitian awal. Dosis residu biochar sebagai perlakuan 2,5 ton/ha, 5,0 ton/ha, dan 7,5 ton/ha. Pupuk kandang ayam 2,5 ton/ha, 5,0 ton/ha, dan 7,5 ton/ha. .Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa residu biochar sekam padi masih berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung, sedang pupuk kandang ayam tidak mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tinggi, diameter batang,  dan hasil biji kering tanaman jagung. Residu biochar sekam padi dengan dosis5,0 dan 7,5 ton.ha-1 memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil terbaik pada tanaman jagung.Tidak ada perbedaan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian awal dengan yang diperoleh pada penelitian residu.

  • KEBIASAAN MAKANAN DAN REPRODUKSI IKAN LUNDU (Macrones gulio) DI PERAIRAN

      Abstract: Ikan lundu (Macrones gulio) merupakan salah satu ikan ekonomis penting dan banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai bahan pangan. Kajian mengenai aspek makanan dan reproduksi ikan lundu sebagai dasar dalam pengelolaan ikan tersebut masih sangat minim. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji aspek kebiasaan makanan dan reproduksi ikan lundu yang mencakup jenis makanan, kelimpahan makanan, rasio kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad, ukuran ikan pertama kali matang gonad, indeks kematangan gonad, fekunditas, dan diameter telur. Penelitian dilakukan selama tiga bulan, pada Bulan Desember 2014 - Februari 2015. Total ikan contoh yang diamati (n= 201 ekor ikan), terdiri dari 98 ekor ikan jantan dan 103 ekor ikan betina. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan lundu termasuk ikan omnivora yang cenderung karnivora, dengan makanan utama berupa krustasea. Rasio kelamin ikan jantan dan ikan betina 1:1,1. Ikan betina lebih dahulu matang gonad dari pada ikan jantan. Fekunditas ikan lundu adalah 3100-24459 butir telur dengan modus penyebaran dua puncak yang mengindikasikan tipe pemijahan secara partial.

  • a PHYTOPLANKTON BIODIVERSITY AND POLLUTION BIOINDICATOR IN BOJONEGARA
           COASTAL WATERS, BANTEN BAY, INDONESIA

      Abstract: Coastal waters of Bojonegara in Banten Bay has a lot of pressure from the surrounding environment, including industry and sand mining. The high intensity and limited space encourage reclamation in coastal areas which can trigger changes in water quality. Research was conducted from October to December 2019, aims to analyze the phytoplankton biodiversity and pollution bioindicator of the waters. The phytoplankton was obtained through filtering 50 liters of water at a depth of 30 cm or surface waters. Observations were also made on water quality conditions including transparency, depth, color, temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen (in-situ) and turbidity, Total Suspended Solid (TSS), nitrate, nitrite, and total phosphate (ex-situ). Data analysis was performed on abundance, diversity index, eveness and dominance, similarity index, and saprobic index. Based on observations, it is known that the phytoplankton found were in the class Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Dinophyceae, and Chrysophyceae. The index values of diversity, eveness, and dominance of phytoplankton each ranged from 0.2223-1.0070; 0,1289-0,5664; and 0.1550-0.8181, respectively. According to these values, the Bojonegara waters were classifeied as mild to moderate ecological pressure. The similar conditions are also indicated by the saprobic index values. The result of Main Component Analysis (PCA) shows the first component with 53.726% variance represented by turbidity parameters, TSS, total phosphate, transparency, depth, temperature, pH, and DO. These parameters have the most influence on the presence of phytoplankton.
