  • INNER TRANSFORMATİON AND ATTİTUDE CHANGE OF THE BELOVED İN THE CONTEXT
           OF SUHANA STYLE

    • Authors: Erdem SEVİMLİ
Abstract: In Divan poetry, the beloved is mostly depicted with her physical aspects. However, when looking at the divans, it is seen that this lover's inner aspects are also depicted as well as her physical features. This situation is more evident in the poems written in line with the suhana style. In such poems, it is seen that the beloved display all her capricious aspects. These are the aspects such as not neglecting the kiss and making it a custom to hug her lover, being constantly sîne-be-sîne/chest to chest with her lover, drinking wine and having fun with her lover, cheating on the lover, sometimes worrying and crying for the lover. In addition, the beloved behaves very recklessly towards her lover and may exhibit behaviours such as swimming and undressing in front of him. This relaxed and casual attitude of the beloved, who pushes the opponent aside and does not spare any kind of courtship and coquetry to her lover and often extends the time of being a guest in her lover's bosom, is remarkable in that they reveal her inner structure. In this study, in addition to the physical aspects of the beloved, the inner aspects that are not mentioned enough will be described in the context of the suhana style.
