Pages: 1 - 2 Abstract: Over the last 50 years, advancements in education, medicine, wealth, technology, and population health have increased individual life expectancies in record numbers. Healthy aging is not just a function of healthy genes. Researchers have revealed how individual aging is modified by a number of social and behavioral determinants. For some individuals, advancing age may offer opportunities to work longer, devise unique pathways into retirement and pursue encore careers. For others, growing older presents long periods of disability or informal caregiving, both of which come with considerable, unexpected costs. Many Americans born after the year 2000 can now expect to live for 100 years or longer. PubDate: Tue, 28 Feb 2023 00:00:00 GMT DOI: 10.1093/ppar/prac040 Issue No: Vol. 33, No. 1 (2023)
