In particular, during 2020 the majority of educational institutions worldwide had to shift from the traditional face-to-face to the online teaching methodology, leading to a consequential debate - among instructors, citizens, media, and government - about its advantages and disadvantages. To realise a comprehensive evaluation of online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, the following research question has been formulated: "What are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of online teaching that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic?" In order to provide an answer, a three-round Delphi study was implemented involving 12 editorial board members of the <i>International Journal of Information and Operations Management Education</i>, whose opinions were mediated and synthesised in a SWOT analysis. From the SWOT analysis, a series of strategies has been developed to help policy makers and instructors in adopting a <i>strategising</i> view towards online teaching. Authors:Matteo Cristofaro, Pier Luigi Giardino, Luna Leoni Pages: 113 - 136 Abstract: This paper examines the impact of adopting a flipped classroom model on the academic performance of students in an introductory undergraduate course in project management. The study was conducted over a three-semester period during which the course was transformed from a traditional lecture-oriented format to semi-flipped and flipped modes of instruction in search of a more fruitful learning environment for students with diverse academic backgrounds and program needs. A combination of performance- and perception-based data were collected for analytical purposes. Multiple assessment tools were included in the study to measure students' performance with respect to various layers of intended learning outcomes. The results showed that students in semi-flipped and flipped classrooms on average outperformed their peers in all the assessment categories considered. There were no statistically significant differences in performance between the semi-flipped and flipped classrooms. Furthermore, the study revealed that the majority of students viewed the flipped classroom favourably and noted that it offered advantages over a traditional lecture-oriented format. Authors:David Alvim, Bráulio Alturas Pages: 137 - 160 Abstract: The acceptance of a new IS by users is not always easy, as people tend to be resistant to changes. This paper seeks to identify and evaluate the organisational impact of an IS change, having as subject of study the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and the University of Lisbon. The study was carried out based on a model that considers three perspectives: the quality of the system, the quality of information and the quality of service. For this study, interviews were conducted, and questionnaires were applied to some employees of the two universities to assess the impact of the SAP ERP implementation. The results confirm the importance of the quality of information and quality of the service provided, on learning and then on the organisational impact, through the benefits obtained and the impact on the end user. Authors:David Alvim, Bráulio Alturas Pages: 161 - 178 Abstract: On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as a global pandemic. Many educational institutions switched to online learning platforms to support academic operations. However, students' attitudes toward and perceptions of online learning are still not well understood. This study investigates students' attitudes toward blackboard and the relationship between students' computer literacy and these attitudes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected via a survey of 250 students in the Information and Learning Resources Department at Taibah University. The study findings show a significant relationship between students' computer literacy levels and their attitudes toward adopting online studying. The decision makers at Taibah University can leverage the results of this study to help design classes and workshops that aim to improve computer literacy that empowers students' foundations for online learning environments. The high illiteracy in computer skills limited how students used the school blackboard because most could not access all of the necessary resources because of illiteracy. Authors:Hossein Rikhtehgar Berenji, Hossein Najmi Pages: 179 - 209 Abstract: Simulation games are getting popular in modern pedagogy. However, objective measurement of simulation games' educational value is challenging. We use the revised Bloom's taxonomy framework to empirically measure students' knowledge gain in capacity and inventory management in the SodaPop simulation game. Our results in the knowledge experiment show that participating in this simulation game improves students' conceptual and procedural knowledge. Additionally, our second experiment (i.e., feedback experiment) investigates the impact of providing two types of feedback (i.e., general and detailed) on students' performance. In the feedback experiment, we also examine the impact of a given type of feedback on the performance of different types of students (low- vs. high-performing students). Our results illustrate that detailed feedback enhances students' performance relative to a control group, and that the effect is more pronounced among high-performing students. Together, these findings extend our understanding of the learning that results from participation in game-based pedagogy.
