  • Comparative Study of Nasionalism Main Characters in The Novel Negeri van
           Oranje and Diary Buruh Migran

      Abstract: Negeri van Oranje by Wahyuningtyas and Diary Buruh Migran by Arsya Kirana is a literature work that shows the main character’s struggle in a foreign country. Based on both novel, this research is aim for (1) describing the nationalism of the main character on novel titled Negeri Van Oranje by Wahyuningtyas and novel titled  Diary Buruh Migran by Arsya Kirana, and also (2) describing the impact of the character of nationalism on other figures inside novel titled Negeri Van Oranje by Wahyuningtyas and novel titled Diary Buruh Migran by Arsya Kirana. This research using descriptive approach with qualitative type. Analysis result shows there is an existence five sub values of national characterism, pervade social care, hard work, high curiosity, care for living, and loves the motherland. One of them is care for living not founded on novel titled Diary Buruh Migran by Arsya Kirana, that’s create a primacy for novel titled Negeri van Oranje by Wahyuningtyas. Overall, character of nationalism has an impact on other characters in the story, which involve cognitive components, affective components, and conative components.

  • Expressive Action on Meme in Instagram Towards The Election of President
           and Vice President 2019

      Abstract: This study aims to classify expressive speech acts through writing and images in memes on Instagram towards PILPRES 2019, as well as analyzing the form of expressive speech acts in the writing and images of memes on Instagram towards PILPRES 2019. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of writing in memes on Instagram. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out using literature study techniques, note taking techniques, and documentation techniques. The results showed expressive speech found in memes on Instagram towards PILPRES (Presidential Election) in 2019, the results of the research found the forms of Expressive Speech Actions (Giving Love), Expressive Speech Actions (Insulting), Expressive Speech Actions (Praising), Expressive Speech Actions (Blaming) and Expressive Actions (Mocking). In addition, language has the following functions, expressive functions, directive functions, aesthetic functions, physical functions, informational functions. This function is used to express language into memes.

  • The Meaning of The Phrase The March 2020 Issue of Kompas Newspaper and

      Abstract: Kompas Newspaper article published in March 2020 is a few newspaper articles discussing the figure of inpirative, social society, health, politics and law, history, and education. The article on the news is interesting to study the types of meanings because it relates to the Indonesian language learning materials Senior High School program. This research aims to (1) study the meaning of phrases in the newspaper text of Kompas March 2020 and (2) know the implications of newspaper texts with Indonesian language learning materials in high school. This research is done by a descriptive method. The descriptive method in this study is to describe the phenomenon of linguistic as it is. The data analysis technique used is a method of data analysis involving the approach (theory) as a research data analysis tool. So, the language research method includes the methods and techniques of data collection that is used by language speakers, and the data analysis methods and techniques that will be found in the linguistic rules according to the use of the language itself in the society of its said. The results of this study can be explained that the meaning of the phrase in the newspaper text Kompas edition of March 2020 and implications of the meaning of the phrase in the newspaper text Kompas March 2020 edition with learning materials in Senior High School.

      Abstract: The research "Analysis of Verbal Phrases in Princess Sayaka's novel by Salma Izatunnuha in terms of Syntactic Studies" is motivated because today many novels are written not only from adults, even children and adolescents have dared to express their ideas and creativity in a work, especially works contained in the KKPK (Small-Owned Work) published by DAR! Mizan Where KKPK is a place to put the works of the nation's children to be published in writing, both in the form of novels or short stories. Because the novels or other works contained in the KKPK (Small-Owned Works), are specialized containers for children and adolescents aged 7-12 years, the sentences used pay attention to the sentence patterns that can be understood by their circles. This study aims to analyze the verb phrases found in the 12-year-old Prinsess Sayaka Novel by Salma Izatunnuha. This research belongs to a descriptive qualitative research. Where the data used in this study in the form of a set of words that form a verb phrase in Novel Princess Sayaka. The process of collecting data is by reading, marking and taking notes. The results of this study are that there are several verb phrases in the novel Princess Sayaka, the form of the phrase used is also a word that is often found in everyday life. Based on the results of research conducted along with the discussion, the conclusion is the verb phrase is a phrase in which the central element is a verb or verb. Verbal phrases have 3 types, namely: modification verb phrases, coordinative verb phrases, and apositive verb phrases. Of these three types of verb phrases, in Princess Sayaka's novel there are only modificative and coordinative verb phrases.

      Abstract: In this era of globalization, technology has been invented in all part of life, one of it is literature art. Wattpad is an app which is designed as a place to submit works of fiction from youth author both domestic and international. Through Wattpad, more ovels has been published and made into a film. This research aimed to know role of Wattpad in introducing the study of literary works which is novel. This Research use descriptive qualitative method, the result from this research is to show that wattpad user as a media of studying literature works can be said to be capable. The proof of this thing can be seen from the research result from Wattpad’s cognitive side which provides a literature works that is easy to understand and giving inspiration to readers to improve their imagination in learning about literary works.

  • The Dynamics of the Codification of Indonesian Post-Publication Republic
           of Indonesia Government Regulation Number 57 Year 2014

      Abstract: The issuance of Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia (PP) Number 57 of 2014 concerning Development, Development and Protection of Language and Literature, as well as Improvement of the Function of Indonesian Language has made the dynamics of the Indonesian codification even more current. Before the regulation was published, the Indonesian language codification conducted by the government was limited to publishing the Big Indonesian Dictionary IV (KBBI) IV, General Guidelines for the Formation of Terms (PUPI), and General Guidelines for Improved Indonesian Spelling (PUEYD). The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The data collection methods and techniques used include the listening method, with the basic tapping techniques and the advanced, competent free listening (SBLC) techniques. Meanwhile, the data analysis methods and techniques used include the orthographic equivalent method, with the basic technique of determining the deciding element (PUP) and the advanced comparative relationship technique equalizing the subject matter (HBSP). The results showed that the codification of Indonesian language after the issuance of PP Number 57 Year 2014 included updating the KBBI, PUPI Workshops, and publishing a number of bilingual dictionaries (Indonesian-regional languages).

  • How The Forms of Fatal Linguistic Errors in A Job Application Letter'

      Abstract: Job application letters are included in the class of official letters so that there are certain aspects that must be considered in their administration. One of these aspects is the language aspect. This study aims to describe the forms of language, such as: spelling, diction, and sentences used in job application letters at the Special Job Exchange for the Presidential Vocational School of Cirebon City and Indomaret, Kejuden Village, Cirebon Regency. This research is a qualitative research. Techniques and data instruments used in this study were documentation techniques and data cards. In addition, the observation technique with the advanced note-taking technique was used to study the data in this study. The data analysis technique used the miles model and Huberman. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there are 223 language errors used in job application letters, with details: 161 spelling errors, 19 diction errors, and 43 errors.

The results showed that in the novel Sekaca Cempaka there is a relationship between community and nature, traditions that live in society, values ​​that are believed by community, and myths that develop in community.

      Abstract: This study aims to describe imperative speech in the micro teaching subject. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative research form. The study population was 8 semester students of the sixth semester. The data collection technique uses note taking and documentary techniques in the form of video recordings. The data collection tool is in the form of the researcher himself as a key instrument assisted by writing instruments. The data analysis technique used is the interactive analysis technique with the stages of collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. The research result obtained is that the use of imperative speech in the micro teaching subject has sixteen imperative pragmatic forms.

      Abstract: This study aims to analyze the need for children's fairy tales containing local wisdom based on macromedia flash for elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative research. This study intends to reveal the needs analysis for children's fairy tales containing local wisdom based on macromedia flash for students at SD Taman Muda IP Yogyakarta. The research subjects were fourth grade students. This research data collection technique using participant observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used an interactive model of data analysis. The analysis consists of three activity lines, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. From the results of the needs analysis at SD Taman Muda IP Yogyakarta, it was found that this study began with a needs analysis by identifying the basic competencies contained in thematic learning Indonesian content. In the Indonesian language content, material about fairy tales is found in theme 4 Sharing Work, namely KD 3.5 Describing personal opinions about the contents of literary books (stories, fairy tales, and so on). KD 4.5 Communicating personal opinions about the contents of selected and read literary books orally and in writing supported by reasons. From the basic competency analysis of some of the learning content, researchers can develop innovative media, namely children's fairy tales containing local wisdom based on Macromedia Flash.

  • Investigating Slang Word and Sociolinguistic Aspect of Anjay

      Abstract: Slang uses referred to modernity, language assimilation, and language variety in social discourses; that underlined the background to the reason of young generation to assimilate and modification, as a tool for communicating also socialization. Importantly, slang even the outer level of young ages, will interpret as negative meanings, but they going to acquire in variety moment. In further slang became the symbol of freedom of speech, a group of human class entity, and modern life. All perspective above, that grounded and interrelated to slang uses, was implicating to the use of Anjay word [as the representative or reflection of the various slang in Indonesia]. A word such Anjay, transported from negative meanings which rooting of [dog-word; in Bahasa Indonesia as Anjing] became one of popular slang that expressed of enthusiasm, adore, joke, love, and friendship to one object. The method which is used in this research is descriptive qualitative research; there was literature study that compiled of journal-thesis-and bachelor paper. Result showed that slang in general studies, were of several types. And the result is perspective of anjay for senior high school student. Anjay word can be used 83% and cannot be used 17%. They do not mind the use of Anjay for their communication with the purpose of joke or responding something funny.

  • Portrait of Indonesian Workers Life in Saudi Arabia in the Novel Kedai

      Abstract: A grim portrait of life is often shown by migrant workers who work in Saudi Arabia through novel Kedai 1001 Mimpi by Valiant Budi, researcher tries to peel the grim portrait of migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. This research, using qualitative descriptive method and literature sociology approach, seeks to explore the portrait of humanity accepted by Indonesian labor migrants working in Saudi Arabia. The results of this study show a portrait of humanity experienced by female and male migrant workers. The portrait of life that happens to women in the novel Kedai 1001 Mimpi by Valian Budi is sexual harassment, physical violence, accusation, lack of protection. The portrait of humanity portrayed in male migrant workers is harassment, dissension, defamation, and unclear employment contracts. This research has significance in the humanitarian and social fields that there are many grim portraits of living witnesses who have worked as migrant workers in Saudi Arabia so that the government needs to find the right solution so that the forms of injustice received by migrant workers in Saudi Arabia do not recur.

  • Riffaterre's Semiotic Study on Elegi by Joko Pinurbo

      Abstract: This study aims to describe the expression of anxiety in Elegi's poetry through heuristic and hermenic reading as well as the unsustainability of expressions in poetry, matrices, variants, and hypograms in Joko Pinurbo's five poems. This descriptive qualitative research was analyzed through Riffaterre's semiotic approach. Research data in the form of stanzas and lines in the poem Elegi by Joko Pinurbo. The source of this research is a collection of poetry books Book of Sleep Exercise X Song Moon Poetry by Jokpin Pinurbo. The results showed that (1) through reading heuristics and hermeneutics showed that there were themes taken by anxiety; (2) The unsustainability of the expression put forward by Riffaterre includes the replacement of meaning, deviation of meaning, and creation of meaning; (3) The matrix in Jokpin's "Elegi" poem is about the sad feelings of a homeless person who must be forced to be driven out of his place of residence; and (4) Hipogram poem "Elegi" is as a form of concern for the social environment one of which is experienced by some economically disadvantaged people.

  • The Influence of Carrie TV Channel Shows on Language Acquisition in Early
           Childhood

      Abstract: The role of technology media as a stimulant in the industrial era 4.0 has developed rapidly and varied to affect various aspects of life in all circles, including early childhood. One affected aspect of life is language. The influence on the linguistic aspect is felt by children, especially at an early age. This study aims to determine how the influence of digital media broadcasts on Carrie TV’s YouTube channel on language development and acquisition in early childhood. This research utilized the observation method by observing language attitudes in early childhood and recording speech in communication activities. The observation technique was carried out by recording the distribution of words uttered by early childhood. Moreover, a comparison of the spoken vocabulary was made between the children who watched the Carrie TV channel and those who did not watch it. The word distribution recorded was adjusted to the children’s vocabulary skills in general based on their language development stage. The results revealed that childhood who watched the Carrie TV channel possessed more vocabulary than those who did not watch it. The children’s vocabulary could be categorized into basic words, conjunctions, affix words, and word combinations.

      Abstract: The main problem in this article is the low awareness of students' critical thinking when writing various academic activities. One of the reasons for this condition is that learning to write academic forms has not used the right approach or model. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the application of Critical Thinking in student academic writing. This research was written using literature study and direct observation of the academic writing lecture process, namely writing scientific papers. The results of the observation show that in a class that does not use the Critical Thinking approach, it shows that during the academic writing lecture process, students have not developed the concept of critical thinking properly so that their written work has not produced critical and innovative products. However, in classes that apply the Critical Thinking Approach, lectures have been running effectively and the students' written work is in accordance with the assessment criteria. This increase and effectiveness is because students carry out the stages of analysis, evaluation, reconstruction, and creativity during writing lectures.

This study focuses on the role of women who struggling to their lives so the readers can get different meanings and perspectives from female characters who are not victims of discrimination but as motivators to create their existence. The object of this research is a novel entitled Merry Riana: A Million Dollar Dream by Alberthiene Endah. This research employs qualitative method namely content analysis. The procedure in this research are intensive reading, identification, analysis, presentation, and conclusion. The focus of research on existentialist feminism are (1) women can work; (2) women can become intellectuals; (3) women can achieve socialist transformation; and (4) women can reject their motherhood nature. The result of this research is that the figure of a woman has the right to do or fight for something that is equal to men.       Abstract: Interferensi merupakan salah satu fenomena kontak bahasa. Interferensi dapat terjadi dalam segala tataran kehidupan, termasuk di dalam dialog oleh tokoh utama dalam sebuah film. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interferensi bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Jawa dan sebaliknya pada dialog tokoh utama dalam film “Yowis Ben 1” dan implementasinya sebagai alternatif materi ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Interference is one of the phenomena of language contact. Interference can occur at all levels of life, including in dialogue by the main character in a film. The aims of this research are to describe the interference of Bahasa into Javanese and vice versa, based on the dialogue of the main character in "Yowis Ben 1" film and its implementation to become the teaching material alternative in SMA (Senior High School).This research belongs to qualitative. The technique of collection data is documentation. Test the data validity is using triangulation sources. Data analysis is selecting the data which have been gathered through the records, notes and transcription then describing the results of the research on language interference in “Yowis Ben 1” movie. The analysis result shows the use of Indonesian language in a movie called “Yowis Ben 1” interference on the phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics level.The factors causing the interference in the use of Indonesian by the main character in the film "Yowis Ben 1" are bilingualism, low loyalty in the recipient's language user, and the habit of using the mother tongue.

      Abstract: This semantic-based research study investigates the figurative language of Madura proverbs. The objectives of this study were to describe the types of figurative language contained in Madura proverbs. Describe the meaning and function of figurative language in Madura proverbs. And also describe the relationship of culture inside Madura proverbs. Research result indicates that in the style of figurative language metaphor based on Haley’s hierarchy in nine metaphors, the metaphors in Madura’s proverbs are energy, terrestrial, cosmos, object, animate, living, and human. Simile in this research includes cosmos, plants, animals, object, and terrestrial. And personifications in this research are animate personification and non-human personification.

      Abstract: This study aims to describe the social values ​​contained in A. Mustofa Bisri's Calligraphy Painting Short Story Collection and describe their application in learning in high school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data source used in this research is the book Collection of Calligraphy Painting short stories by A. Mustofa Bisri which was published in 2009. The data was collected using documentation techniques. Data analysis was performed using an interactive analysis model. The results showed that: (1) there are several forms of social values ​​in the collection of calligraphy paintings by A. Mustofa Bisri, which are divided into three forms, including love, responsibility, and life harmony. (2) learning Calligraphy Painting short story collection has basic competence to identify the values ​​of life contained in the collection of short stories that are read. The methods used were group discussions, questions and answers, and assignments. Learning activities include preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities.
