Authors:Nicette N Ganal, Marissa R Guiab Pages: 1 - 22 Abstract: ABSTRACT: The study aims to explore and analyze the impact of teaching strategies and social support on the Mathematics achievement, attitude, and anxiety among grade 8 students during the school year of 2018-2019. The population composed of 98 students of public secondary schools chosen through convenience non-random sampling. The instruments used to gather data are Personal Data Sheet, Teacher’s Strategies Mathematics Scale, Attitude Scale, Anxiety Scale, and Social Support Scale. The students’ first term Mathematics grades for school year of 2018-2019 represent their achievement. The data were analyzed through Mean, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, One-Way Analysis of Variance, and Stepwise Regression Analysis. The results revealed that teaching strategies and teachers’, parents’, and peers’ support to the respondents are very satisfactory and moderately satisfactory correspondingly. The achievement and attitude of respondents towards Mathematics is satisfactory, while anxiety level is moderately satisfactory. The teaching strategies are predictors of achievement and attitude. Hence, teachers should constantly enhance students’ abilities, attitude, and behavior in number related courses. Consequently, a research on exploring the student’s self-efficacy, parents’, and teachers’ attitudes towards Mathematics among students in selected secondary schools of Division of Isabela, Philippines can be pursued. A training program on strategies for enhancing the teachers’ skills in promoting their intellectual and social support abilities could also be designed and implemented.KEY WORD: Mathematics Achievement; Attitude; Anxiety; Social Support; Teaching Strategies. RINGKASAN: “Strategi Pengajaran dan Dukungan Sosial terhadap Prestasi, Sikap, dan Kecemasan Siswa dalam Matematika”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis dampak dari strategi pengajaran dan dukungan sosial terhadap prestasi, sikap, dan kecemasan dalam Matematika di antara siswa kelas 8 selama tahun ajaran 2018-2019. Populasi terdiri dari 98 siswa sekolah menengah negeri yang dipilih melalui sampel acak yang tidak biasa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah Lembar Data Pribadi, Skala Matematika Strategi Guru, Skala Sikap, Skala Kecemasan, dan Skala Dukungan Sosial. Nilai Matematika semester pertama siswa untuk tahun ajaran 2018-2019 mewakili prestasi mereka. Data dianalisis melalui Rerata, Korelasi Pearson Product Moment, Analisis Varian Satu Jalur, dan Analisis Regresi Stepwise. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengajaran dan dukungan guru, orang tua, dan teman sebaya kepada responden sangat memuaskan dan tingkat memuaskan secara moderat. Prestasi dan sikap responden terhadap Matematika memuaskan, sedangkan tingkat kecemasan cukup memuaskan. Strategi pengajaran adalah prediktor pencapaian dan sikap. Karena itu, guru harus terus-menerus meningkatkan kemampuan, sikap, dan perilaku siswa dalam sejumlah matapelajaran terkait. Konsekuensinya, sebuah penelitian untuk mengeksplorasi efikasi-diri siswa, sikap orang tua, dan guru terhadap Matematika di antara siswa di sekolah menengah yang terpilih di Daerah Bagian Isabela, Filipina dapat dilakukan. Authors:Ani Marlina Pages: 23 - 38 Abstract: RINGKASAN: Penelitian dilakukan di RW (Rukun Warga) 12 Sukaregang, Garut, Jawa Barat, Indonesia menggunakan metode penelitian korelasional, dengan melibatkan satu variabel terikat dan satu variabel bebas. Instrumen yang digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul data berbentuk tes angket dan skala sikap. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis korelasional dengan menggunakan taraf kepercayaan = 0.05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap data yang terkumpul, peneliti menarik beberapa kesimpulan. Pertama, pemahaman masyarakat tentang sanitasi lingkungan hanya mencapai 78.36, artinya cukup baik, tapi perlu ada upaya peningkatan yang maksimal lagi dari seluruh komponen warga masyarakat dan pemerintah setempat dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil pemahaman masyarakat tentang sanitasi lingkungan. Kedua, sikap masyarakat terhadap limbah pabrik kulit di Sukaregang, Garut direspon kurang positif oleh masyarakat, dalam arti masyarakat menunjukkan sikap yang kurang baik terhadap limbah pabrik kulit tersebut. Kondisi ini ditunjukan dengan pencapaian rata-rata sikap masyarakat terhadap limbah pabrik kulit sebesar 77.6. Ketiga, pemahaman masyarakat tentang sanitasi lingkungan dengan sikap masyarakat terhadap limbah pabrik kulit berkorelasi positif dengan harga koefesien korelasi sebesar 0.15. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pemahaman masyarakat tentang sanitasi lingkungan dengan sikap masyarakat terhadap limbah pabrik kulit di Sukaregang, Garut.KATA KUNCI: Pemahaman dan Sikap Masyarakat; Sanitasi Lingkungan; Limbah Pabrik Kulit. ABSTRACT: “Relationship of Community Understanding on Environmental Sanitation with Community Attitudes towards Leather Factory Waste”. The study was conducted at the RW (Community Group) 12 Sukaregang, Garut, West Java, Indonesia using a correlational research method, involving one dependent variable and one independent variable. The instrument used as a data collection tool took the form of a questionnaire test and the scale of attitudes. The analysis used was correlational analysis using a level of confidence = 0.05. Based on the results of the analysis of the data collected, the researcher draws several conclusions. Firstly, the community's understanding on environmental sanitation only reached 78.36, which means that it is quite good, but there needs to be a maximum improvement of all components of the community and local government in an effort to improve the results of the community's understanding on environmental sanitation. Secondly, community attitudes towards leather factory waste in Sukaregang, Garut responded less positively by the community, in the sense that the community showed an unfavorable attitude towards leather factory waste. This condition is shown by the attainment of an average public attitude towards leather factory waste as 77.6. Thirdly, the community's understanding on environmental sanitation with community attitudes towards leather factory waste is positively correlated with a correlation coefficient price of 0.15. Authors:Haji Awang Asbol bin Haji Mail Pages: 39 - 56 Abstract: RINGKASAN: Kajian ini – dengan mengguna-pakai pendekatan kualitatif, kaedah sejarah, sorotan literatur, dan analisis deskriptif – cuba meneliti bagaimana dasar-dasar pendidikan yang muncul dalam sistem pendidikan Brunei dari tahun 1972 hingga 2008, dengan melihatkan evolusi yang disesuaikan dengan keperluan semasa. Ia juga berhadapan dengan berbagai cabaran. Di antara cabaran utama ialah menjadikan Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa pengantar di sekolah-sekolah di seluruh negeri. Ia boleh dilihat pada Dasar Pendidikan 1972, yang mahukan Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa pengantar. Namun ia menghadapi cabaran untuk dilaksanakan hingga gagal. Ia gagal bukan sahaja disebabkan oleh faktor dalaman, bahkan juga menyangkut faktor luaran. Apabila Dasar Pendidikan Dwi-Bahasa 1984 dan SPN21 (Sistem Pendidikan Negara Abad ke-21) diwujudkan, sekali lagi, cabaran Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa pengantar kekal timbul. Apa yang jelasnya, kedua-dua dasar itu menjadikan Bahasa Inggeris sebagai bahasa utama. Dalam pada itu, apabila SPN21 dilancarkan pada tahun 2008, dengan alasan bagi menggantikan Dasar Dwi-Bahasa yang dikatakan tidak sesuai dengan perkembangan semasa. Bagaimanapun, dasar ini menimbulkan rasa tidak puas hati di kalangan masyarakat Islam, apabila mata pelajaran Agama Islam dan MIB (Melayu Islam Beraja) tidak menjadi mata pelajaran teras. Kesan dari desakan pada tahun 2009, kedua-dua mata pelajaran itu telah menjadi mata pelajaran teras. Bagaimanapun, SPN21 terus menghadapi cabaran dari segi menyediakan prasarana tekonolgi maklumat terbaharu yang sentiasa berubah, guru berkemahiran, dan cuba memenuhi keperluan Wawasan Brunei 2035.KATA KUNCI: Dasar-dasar Pendidikan Negara; Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris; Isu dan Cabaran Semasa. ABSTRACT: “Brunei Darussalam Education Policies, 1972-2008: Tracking Evolution in the Face of Challenges”. This study – using qualitative approach, historical method, literature review, and descriptive analysis – attempts to examine how educational policies emerged in Brunei's education system from 1972 to 2008, by looking at the evolution adapted to current needs. It also faces various challenges. Among the major challenges is to make the Malay Language as the language of instruction in schools across the country. It can be seen on Education Policy of 1972, which wanted a Malay as the language of instruction. But it faces challenges to implement until it fails. It fails not only due to internal factors, but also to external factors. When Dual Language Education Policy of 1984 and SPN21 (National Education System for the 21st Century) was realized, once again, the challenge of Malay Language as the medium still arises. What is clear is that both policies make English the primary language. At the same time, when SPN21 was launched in 2008, with the aim of replacing the Dual-Language Policy which was said to be incompatible with current developments. However, this policy caused discontent among the Muslim community, when the subject of Islam and MIB (Malay Islamic Monarchy) did not become the core subjects. As a result of the pressure in 2009, both subjects have become core subjects. Authors:Joni Rahmat Pramudia Pages: 57 - 74 Abstract: ABSTRACT: Lifelong learning provides equal and broad opportunities for anyone according to his or her interest, age, and learning needs. The research adopted a prospective-qualitative approach with Delphi-Ethnographic technique. Data were collected using review of the peer-reviewed literature, in-depth interview, FGD (Focus Group Discussion), and mini-Delphi questionnaire. The research subjects consisted of elements of bureaucracy, academia, practitioners, NFE (Non-Formal Education) program alumni, and community leaders in West Java, Indonesia. The findings show that: (1) Historically, the concept of lifelong learning in the local and national literature is inseparable from the process of human civilization, including the women's community; (2) Basically, academicians share the same perspective on the development and strategies of lifelong learning program for urban poor women community, as shown by the similar characteristics shared by the various lifelong learning programs; (3) A lifelong learning tentative model, that is oriented to the women community, follows a number of learning phases as is commonly done in the implementation of a learning program; and (4) Support for lifelong learning policies, which are responsive and sides to poor women, can be realized by establishing a Commission of Lifelong Learning at the national level to the lowest governmental unit, and forming Lifelong Learning Work Team involving elements of governmental and non-governmental institutions. RINGKASAN: “Model Belajar Sepanjang Hayat untuk Mendorong Perubahan Paradigma Berfikir Positif Komunitas Perempuan Miskin di Perkotaan”. Pembelajaran sepanjang hayat memberikan kesempatan yang sama dan luas bagi siapa saja sesuai dengan minat, usia, dan kebutuhan belajarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif prospektif, dengan metode Delphi-Etnografik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi literatur, wawancara mendalam, FGD (Kelompok Diskusi Terpumpun), dan kuesioner mini-Delphi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas unsur birokrasi, akademisi, praktisi, lulusan PLS (Pendidikan Luar Sekolah), dan tokoh masyarakat di Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Authors:Affero Ismail, Zeti Kasman Pages: 75 - 88 Abstract: RINGKASAN: Menggalakkan penggunaan teknologi hijau untuk melindungi alam sekitar adalah cabaran utama dalam dunia masa kini. Aktiviti manusia yang menjejaskan alam sekitar mesti ditangani dengan cekap untuk memastikan usaha dalam mengekalkan alam sekitar yang sempurna dapat dicapai. Merujuk kepada perkara isu di atas, individu yang memasuki industri mesti dilengkapi dengan kemahiran dan pengetahuan yang mencukupi berkaitan dengan kemahiran hijau. Walau bagaimanapun, senario pada masa kini menunjukkan bahawa individu-individu yang memasuki dunia industri tidak mempunyai kelayakan yang relevan. Dalam pasaran buruh, individu ini dianggap sebagai pekerja berkemahiran rendah, kerana mereka tidak mempunyai latihan sebelum bekerja. Oleh itu, latihan khusus perlu disediakan bagi mereka untuk meningkatkan kemahiran mereka. Kajian ini – mengguna-pakai pendekatan kualitatif dengan menemubual para pakar dalam Perbincangan Kumpulan Fokus serta analisis Kaedah Fuzzy Delphi untuk mengenal pasti konsensus para pakar – dijalankan untuk membangunkan kompetensi kemahiran teknikal berasaskan Pembangunan Kurikulum Berdasarkan Struktur Kemahiran atau CUDBAS (Curriculum Development Based on Skill Structure). Ia digunakan dalam penyelidikan ini kerana dapat memberikan perspektif yang lebih jelas mengenai tahap pengetahuan, kecekapan, dan kemahiran pekerja dalam menjalankan tugas, khasnya dalam sektor pengangkutan di Malaysia. ABSTRACT: “The Development of Technical Skill Competency in Malaysian Transportation Sector”. Promoting the use of green technology to protect the environment is a major challenge in today's world. Human activity that affects the environment must be efficiently addressed to ensure that efforts to maintain the environment can be achieved. Referring to the above issues, individuals entering the industry must be equipped with sufficient skills and knowledge in relation to green skills. However, today's scenario shows that individuals entering the industry world have no relevant qualifications. In the labor market, these individuals are considered to be low-skilled workers as they have no prior training. Therefore, specialized training should be provided for them to improve their skills. This study – adopt a qualitative approach by interviewing experts in Focus Group Discussion as well as analysis of the Duzhi Fuzzy Method to identify the consensus of experts – is conducted to develop competence of technical skills based on CUDBAS (Curriculum Development Based on Skill Structure). It is used in this research as it provides a clearer perspective on the level of knowledge, competence, and skills of employees in carrying out their duties, especially in the transportation sector in Malaysia. Since edition of June 2012 to December 2014, the ATIKAN journal was organized by the Lecturers of FKIP UNSUR (Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Suryakancana University) in Cianjur; since edition of December 2014 to June 2015 by the Lecturers of FPOK UPI (Faculty of Sport and Health Education, Indonesia University of Education) in Bandung; and published by Minda Masagi Press as a publisher owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
