Authors:Ade Putra Pages: 105 - 121 Abstract: One of the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals is quality education and to achieve quality education, of course, it starts with a good and quality learning system. One of the problems that have always arisen in the learning process is about learning models or specifically about teaching methods, one of which is that the learning process is dominated by conventional learning models or learning methods as the mainstay method. This learning method is considered less effective in improving students' ability to think critically and creatively. In this article, we will discuss one of the learning models that are considered to have an important role in improving the quality of education in Indonesia, namely the GI-GI learning model, a combination of the Group Investigation and Guided Inquiry learning models. This model is considered to be more effectively applied to students because it is able to create students who can think critically and creatively so that they can create good quality education and help realize the four goals of the SDGs, namely Quality Education. Authors:Nia Hidayatul Maulana, Asih Rosnaningsih, Sumiyani Sumiyani Pages: 122 - 131 Abstract: The Role of Teachers in Developing Reading Habits for Class 1 Students at SDN Karawaci Baru 4 Tangerang City". Thesis. Department of Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University Tangerang 2018. The role of schools and parents is very important in supporting children's activities to improve reading habits. Improving reading habits, the most strategic way to form students' reading habits in the school environment and in the community. This study aims to determine the teacher's role in growing the reading habits of grade 1 students at SDN Karawaci Baru 4 Tangerang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques used include observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the five teacher roles, it can be concluded that two roles have been carried out well, namely the teacher's role as a motivator and the teacher's role as a facilitator. Meanwhile, the three roles cannot be carried out optimally, namely the role of the teacher as an innovator, the role of the teacher as an inspiration and the role of the teacher as a mediator. The teacher's role as a motivator and facilitator is considered good because it is proven that the teacher provides verbal encouragement in the form of words of encouragement for students, reminds the importance of reading, provides additional value for students, there is a reading corner provided for students, freedom in borrowing books. in the library, habituation of reading activities 15 minutes before the learning process, as well as providing good reading techniques. This is inversely proportional to the teacher's role as an innovator, inspiration and mediator which is still lacking in helping students grow students' reading habits PubDate: 2022-12-26 DOI: 10.21009/improvement.v9i2.31355 Issue No:Vol. 9, No. 02 (2022)

Authors:Khalilah Khalilah Pages: 162 - 184 Abstract: Changes in the student admission through an independent selection path have been conducted by Indonesian government/Ministry of education, culture, research and technology. Recently, the undergraduate student admission through an independent selection path was amended when Rector of State University of Lampung (UNILA) was detained by Indonesian Corupsion Commission through catch hands operation or OTT. A specific research focusing on such changes has been under-developed however. This article is specified to discuss this issue. Regulation documents related with this issue published by this government/ministry were exctracted using thematic qualitative content analysis. The findings are as follows. Changes in the undergraduate student admission policy have been formulated by this government/ministry since Law No.12/2012 was enacted up to 2022s. Commercial oriented undergraduate student admissions was explicitly prohibited by this law. However, regulations constituted by this government/ministry in between 2015s and 2020s did not restrain this issue straightforwardly. As such OTT incident took place, this ministry decreed a regulation, named as Permenristikdikti No.48/2022. Commercial-oriented undergraduate student admission using independent selection path was strictly prohibited by this regulation. This principle does not constrain Indonesian state universities’ authonomy regarding the undergraduate student admision. It instead, helps them to not being trapped in corruptive circle behaviors.
