  • Stake Model Analysis on Islamic Boarding School Policy in Madura in
Formation of Santri Attitudes towards Clean and Healthy Living

    • Authors: Thoriq Aziz Jayana, Abd Mukhid, Syafi'e Syafi'e, Sahrawi Sahrawi, Muhammad Nur Faiz
      Pages: 196 - 214
Abstract: building a clean and healthy living culture should be an inseparable part of the pesantren. But in reality, the spread of skin diseases among students and the neglect of students in maintaining cleanliness have become a separate phenomenon. To solve these problems, an analysis of the pesantren's policies is needed, both related to aspects of taharah education/learning, as well as aspects of optimizing facilities and infrastructure in supporting the implementation of clean and healthy living. This research is a case study research, with an analytical-descriptive approach. The analytical method used is the evaluation of Stake model (countenance). Collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) it is necessary to develop methods in teaching, especially in taharah material with a contextual learning approach (CTL) and problem-based (PBL). 2) the pesantren needs to optimize the infrastructure to support the implementation of clean and healthy living, such as empowering the poskestren, providing baths and clean water, regulating dormitory management so as not to overcapacity, etc.

Understanding of Students at Modern Islamic Institution Darussalam Gontor
           For Girl Campus 4

    • Authors: A. Muttiara Wijayanto AK, Sitti Mania, M. Rusdi T
      Pages: 215 - 231
Abstract: The study of Islamic classical books is crucial in the process of religious understanding. Gontor is one of the pesantren that still maintains the study of Islamic classical books with different methods. This study aims to explain the implementation system of Fatḥ kutub al-turāts in the religious understanding of students at Modern Islamic Institution Darussalam Gontor For Girl Campus 4 South Konawe, the obstacles in its implementation, and the efforts to overcome these obstacles. This research is a descriptive qualitative one that uses observation, interview, and documentation to obtain the whole data. The result of this study shows that Fatḥ kutub al-turāts is an activity of classic books study that aimed religious understanding of the students, that involves student, teachers, facilities, etc. in such procedure. This activity plays an important role in students’ religious understanding in terms of its material and its process that applied a student-centered learning approach, strategies, and methods that allow them to understand the religious materials independently, which is indicated by students’ ability to determine the main ideas, to give an example, to conclude the result of their study, and then convey it in their own language in the form of papers and presentations. The obstacles to this activity are the short duration of implementation, students’ difficulty in studying independently, and classic books that are used are wanting in number and variety. The efforts to overcome these obstacles are by providing briefings, division tasks in a team, escorting students intensively, and coordinating in the procurement of books.

The research carried out is qualitative research with literature studies.  The researchers found that SCL patterns in Akidah Akhlaq learning influenced teachers' success in teaching. The application of SCL for learners provides hands-on experience in learning. Akidah Akhlaq's learning becomes more meaningful. If you have found concrete meaning in learning, it will facilitate the steps towards the process of passion and practice in life. Through the characteristics of active, constructive, collaborative, enthusiastic, dialogical, contextual, reflective, multisensory, and high-order learning skills training provides satisfactory learning outcomes.            Bin Hamid Al-Hazami And Hasyim Ali Al-Ahdal

    • Authors: Fadhlurrahman Fadhlurrahman, Tri Yaumil Falikah, Zalik Nuryana, Reza Amin Nur Ihsan, Asih Kartika Putri, Roihanah Roihanah
      Pages: 254 - 268
Abstract: The development and refinement of the concept of character education between characters continue to interact and reinforce each other. This study aims to describe the idea of character education between Khalid Bin Hamid Al-Hazami and Hasyim Ali Al-Ahdal. They are both Muslim leaders and developed the concept of Islamic character education. The research methodology was carried out by taking primary data from books written by the two figures, then translating and interpreting by strengthening the thoughts of various other figures. The findings of this study are several factors that influence the formation of Islamic character, the purpose of forming Islamic character to the values contained in Islamic character. There are three stages in the cultivation of Islamic character education. First, instill in the students' hearts the burden of law from God. Second, students must be enthusiastic about undergoing God's punishment. Third, the emergence of students' strong desire to get a great reward from Allah. In addition, Khalid bin Hamid al-Hazami explained that the cultivation of character education is not hereditary but is instilled through education. If students make mistakes during the character education process, there are five stages of punishment—implementation of this concept in formal and non-formal educational institutions. The implications of this research will be a new color for the idea of character education that has existed so far.

  • Performance Management in Improving Competitive Advantage at School

    • Authors: Rio Estetika, Imron Rosyadi, Muh. Nur Rochim Maksum
      Pages: 292 - 303
Abstract: The problem of performance management in Islamic educational institutions is still often carried out for only periodic formal assessments for promotion/position. The fantastic number of Muhammadiyah educational institutions, in fact, does not necessarily show their competitive advantage as a whole. Muhammadiyah schools in the outskirts of Wonogiri district (rural areas) are often judged for their management from the road, labeled as discarded schools, unable to compete with public schools, and being underestimated by the community. Muhammadiyah educational institutions are expected to be able to get out of this situation by building a competitive advantage that can be achieved through proper performance management, in line with opportunities and the surrounding environment. Research at SD Muhammadiyah (PK) Pracimantoro and SD Muhammadiyah Inovatif Baturetno, aims to obtain a description based on field facts about planning, implementing, and evaluating performance management in achieving competitive advantage. This field research uses a qualitative approach by emphasizing the analysis of descriptive data in the form of written and spoken words and pictures. The data in this study were collected through interviews and documentation methods. Data analysis was carried out using the inductive method through several steps, namely: data collection accompanied by data reduction, presenting data in the form of narratives and descriptions, then drawing conclusions. The results of this study are performance management in achieving competitive advantage at SD Muhammadiyah PK Pracimantoro and SD Muhammadiyah Innovative Baturetno, carried out in three stages. First, planning includes: goal setting, recruitment of teachers and education personnel, performance agreements. Second, implementation. At the implementation stage of performance management contains several activities, namely: coaching discipline, motivation, competency development, and awards. Third, performance evaluationtaken by two approaches, namely formal and informal. This process is carried out in order to realize school excellence that focuses on educational aspects, including: (1) Location; (2) Value excellence, which includes: curriculum, educational services, teaching staff, infrastructure, educational programs, and graduate achievements.

  • Exemplary in Islamic Education to Create a Rabbani Generation

    • Authors: Milhatunnisa Marits
      Pages: 304 - 314
Abstract: Education is the key to human life and a major factor in the development of a nation. Education is how to humanize the human race. Education lasts a lifetime and can be done anywhere. There are three primary components of education: input, process and output. Islamic education focuses on teaching, educating man to accomplish the purpose of his creation of being a servant of god and the caliph of the earth. This method of writing involves the study of literature through articles, books, and other reading sources. This paper discusses how islamic education through exemplary methods could give birth to a superior generation of rabbani to the nation's successor. The prophet Muhammad was the best paragon we could model, both for a student, teacher, and also for a parent. Teachers and parents must also understand and exemplify the prophet Muhammad so that he can also be a good example to his son. By example there will be a generation of rabbani, a generation that understands the concept of homepage, namely, the purpose, function and mission of the creation of man. Good example became an effective method of islamic education for the birth of superior generations.

  • Language Environment Control Management Strategy Center for Ma'had
Al-Jamiah UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang

    • Authors: Moch. Nurhasan Ubaidillah, Nuril Mufidah
      Pages: 315 - 326
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out the control management strategy in creating an Arabic-language environment, the implications of the Arabic-language environmental control management strategy and the solutions to problems inhibiting the creation of an Arabic-language environment that are applied at Mabna ar-Razi Ma'had Al-Jamiah Center, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with data collection using observations of the progress of language activities in ma'had, interviews with musyrif (managers) of the language and mahasantri divisions, as well as documentation of these language activities. Data analysis techniques applied by researchers are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The findings of this study are a form of management strategy for controlling the language environment implemented at the Ma'had Al-Jamiah Center of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang which uses an informal language environment, namely making the environment outside the classroom a place for students to practice Arabic language skills and when in class language lectures through language programs yaum al-faan al-lughowy (language arts day), sima'i wal tarjamah (listening and interpreting) and tazwidul mufradat (adding vocabulary). The solution to the obstacles to creating an Arabic-language environment is by holding language programs as activities, tightening discipline in language, coaching related to language for both educators and students, and ma'had managers should continue to add material and language learning resources, both study material on various books modern or classic.

Abstract: The research population of 140 teachers using the Slovin formula , obtained a large sample of 58 teachers, while the steps for determining the sample were chosen randomly. Data collection in this study used a closed-type questionnaire instrument, namely by setting alternative answers for each statement item with the weight of the alternative sample answer scores determined by the researcher. The results of the analysis obtained in this study are as follows: (1) There is a positive influence between work motivation on teacher performance, this is explained by the regression equation = 66.586 + 0.084 X 1 so that it can be interpreted that any change in the score of the work motivation variable will result in an increase in teacher performance scores of 49.1%, (2) There is a positive influence between perceptions of principal leadership on teacher performance, this is explained by the regression equation = 56.507 + 0.413 X 2 so that it can be interpreted that any change in the score of the perception variable about leadership principals will result in an increase in teacher performance scores by 22.3%, and (3) There is a positive influence between work motivation and perceptions of principal leadership together on teacher performance, this is explained by the regression equation = 71.365 + 0.408 X 1 + 0.329 X 2 so that it can be indicated that the better work motivation and perception of Regarding the leadership of the principal, the better the contribution to the improvement of teacher performance with a significance value of 33.4%.
