  • Construction of the Meaning of Maulid Nabi Muhammad in the Ngabungbang
Tradition at Pondok Pesantren Cikalama in Sumedang, West Java

    • Authors: Mukhlis Aliyudin, Enjang Enjang, Encep Dulwahab
      Pages: 153 - 174
Abstract: The tradition of celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad or Maulid Nabi Muhammad, which is carried out by Muslims in various regions in Indonesia, has its own meaning, as does the tradition in Pondok Pesantren Cikalama Sumedang West Java, known as the Ngabungbang tradition. Using the phenomenological method, this study aims to uncover the construction of the meaning of those who follow the Ngabungbang tradition in the celebration of the Maulid Nabi Muhammad in Sumedang West Java. The results of the study show that there are 6 meanings in the Ngabungbang tradition. First, as a display of gratitude by the participants for the various blessings and gifts bestowed by Allah; Second, as a means to shape the soul in building and preserving brotherhood and the spirit of cooperation among Muslims; Third, as a means to increase obedience to Allah as the Creator, obedience to the Prophet who taught various good deeds for the salvation of humans in this world, and to the teachers who taught religious teachings; Fourth, to enhance belief and faith in the teachings of Islam; Fifth, as a motivation to ignite the spirit of work, leading to an increase in the level of economy; and Sixth, to attain inner peace from life’s challenges and problems. When the inner self is at peace, one’s work and activities become more focused and one’s efforts become more confident in achieving maximum results.

           Business Units'

    • Authors: Setiawan bin Lahuri, Perdi Pauji, Ainun Amalia Zuhroh
      Pages: 175 - 194

growth. The main role of social capital is to increase business competitiveness in
a sustainable manner. The social capital is needed to encourage quality economic
growth and sustainable competitiveness. Pondok Pesantren is required to support
the sustainability of pesantren. However, most Pondok Pesantrens have not maximised their economic potential due to the classical understanding that only physical capital is needed for economics. One of the Pondok Pesantren that optimize social capital as an economic instrument is Ponpes Sunan Drajat. So,it is interesting to study the role of social capital in the economic development through pesantren business units. This research is qualitative approach. Primary data  collected with Information from PPSD. Secondary data include journal and media sosial. The three main data collection techniques used by observation, interviews and documentation. Observations are carried out as by economic efforts in Islamic Boarding School that involve the community that happen directly. The results showed that the role of Pesantren trust in developing business units is by attractingbusiness
unit community, and strengthen the network
      ties. Value elements play arole
in fostering trust, and norms in keeping values intact. Trust intangible valueshave
become the norm, able to shape the human resources of business unit tobecome
a credible, trustworthy, responsible, honest and fair person so the businessunit
can be maximised. This finding strengthens the previous studies that theory ofsocial
capital can play a role in developing the economy.

  • Waqf Land in the Perspective of Ethnolaw in Papua: A Case Study of Dosay
           Village, Papua

    • Authors: Muhammad Abdulloh, Athi’ Hidayati, Moh Nurul Qomar, Abdurrohman Kasdi
      Pages: 241 - 256
Abstract: Papua, which is a part of Indonesia, has a vibrant ethnic culture. Traditions are frequently tied to religion in practice. Waqf is an Islamic principle that does not necessarily contradict regional traditions. The purpose of this study is to describe the land waqf practices in the Papuan community of Dosay. With its subject in Papua’s Dosay village, this study used a descriptivequalitative methodology. The conclusion of this study is that there is an additional mechanism for implementing waqf, namely one based on Customary law, particularly through approval from Ondoafi as the head of tradition, who has rights to all land and all of its natural resources in a customary territory, or through customary deliberations. In Dosay village, the land waqf was given support for the implementation of Islamic worship, and Ondoafi fully backed this up by demonstrating that he had been given waqf land for free to use for religious services, proselytizing, education, and public facilities. However, the administration of waqf certificates, which have not fully utilized all existing assets, continues to be a problem. Despite Islam being a minority faith, the consequences of this study offer examples of religious moderation in waqf practice.

  • Coaching Strategies to Improve Religious Understanding For Muallaf

    • Authors: Tasbih Tasbih, Siti Asiqah Usman Ali, Saidah A.H Saidah A.H
      Pages: 277 - 300
Abstract: This study aims to explore coaching strategies to improve religious understanding for muallaf. The research uses qualitative techniques with main data collection techniques through FGDs, observations, interviews, and documentation. The research was conducted in Kampung Muallaf, Betteng Village, Lembang District, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The data are analyzed qualitatively using classification based on emerging problems. The results showed that the muallaf coaching strategy in Betteng Village was appropriate. Some of the steps taken are in physical form, and some are in non-physical form. The physical form is the manufacture of several facilities and infrastructure, while the nonphysical form is the form of deepening the pillars of faith and the pillars of Islam. The inhibiting factors for Kampung Muallaf in Betteng Village are the lack of Islamic extension personnel and extreme road access resulting in a lack of frequent meetings. Therefore,it is recommended that the government increase the energy of Islamic Extension workers and improve the means of transportation to make it easier to carry out guidance. The main contribution of this research is to be a piece of information about the concrete steps of religious formation. These measures can be used as a pilot in fostering muallaf elsewhere.

           Anti-Radicalism in Adolescents

    • Authors: Nailul Fauziyah, Fina Hidayati
      Pages: 301 - 320

to develop an attitude of peace and tolerance and uphold the unity and unity
of the Indonesian nation. However, currently, the survey results show that the
level of radicalism among adolescents is increasing due to the negative impact
of technological advances. This is very important in how adolescents can develop
religious moderation as a middle ground in teaching understanding about
advocating and applying religious teachings in a balanced and fair manner. This
research aims to build religious moderation through an approach to tolerance
and anti-radicalism behavior in adolescents. The method used is a quantitative
correlation approach. The study’s respondent was taken with purposive sampling
techniques, namely adolescent age (13-16 years), which amounted to 644 people
(226 men and 418 women). The results of the analysis showed that tolerance
      attitudes had an influence of 48.3% or ß = 0.483 with p-value = 0.000, and
      radicalism had an influence of 26.5% or ß = -0.265 with p-value = 0.000. The
conclusion is to build religious moderation on the evident influence of tolerance
