  • Mindfulness (MBI) in continuous training and evaluation of the transfer in
           the public sector

    • Authors: Laura Molina-García, César Bernal-Bravo, Antonio Hilario Martín-Padilla
      Pages: 1 - 28
Abstract: This research article presents the results of transfer to the workplace of the training received by workers of the Diputación de Sevilla. The training action is received as continuous training within the continuous training plans of the Diputación de Sevilla. Specifically, the face-to-face training action is a Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI): Mindfulness: cultivating full attention, with a duration of 28 hours. Several parameters of this MBI intervention have been analyzed, one of them the transfer of the knowledge acquired to professional and personal practice. The analyzed data show positive results in all the participants, so it can be affirmed that mindfulness training supposes an improvement in capacities such as patience, resilience, communication, problem solving, stress reduction, among other issues to be highlighted in the business climate and the mental health of the people who make it up.

  • Three continents, three countries

    • Authors: Pedro Tadeu, Maria do Céu Ribeiro, Mehmet Kaya, Mithat Takunyacı, Janete Rosa da Fonseca, David Arenas Carmona
      Pages: 52 - 66
Abstract: The epidemiological situation on a global scale caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the general confinement of the population and the need to close the physical spaces of schools of all levels of education. To overcome this, it was necessary to adopt emergency measures, including Emergency Remote Education (ERE), using technologies to interact synchronously with students. Besides, it was also required to reconfigure educational practices and develop skills in digital literacy to enable the continuity of educational experiences, respecting isolation but maintaining the interaction of teachers and students. This situation has not met borders, so we consider it essential to collect information about the degree of student satisfaction with the (ERE) caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in three countries (Portugal, Brazil and Turkey), located on three continents (Europe, America and Asia). Data were collected in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 by the researchers who are conducting the study from different countries. The authors use a survey created on Google Forms to collect data, assuring the confidentiality of the data collected. We obtained 566 valid responses in the three countries: Portugal 140, Turkey 359 and Brazil 67. From this collection and subsequent statistical analysis, we can show, from the results obtained, that the models chosen in the three countries did not please in a unanimous way all the students involved. There are significant differences in access, knowledge of the platforms used and even in the methodologies used by different teachers concerning countries. On the contrary, about the possibility of moving to a permanent online model, there is unanimity, verifying from the opinions that face-to-face education is not replaceable by the model that has been used over the last two years.

  • The relatıonshıp between perceived spouse support and levels of
           psychological resilience in married individuals

    • Authors: Buğracan Acibal, Mehmet Kaya, José María Fernández-Batanero, Nesrin Akinci Çötok
      Pages: 67 - 79
Abstract: Psychological resilience is a person's ability to cope with difficulties he/she faces. It is important in terms of being a positive predictor of a person's mental health. Since resilience is associated with social support from the environment, this study aimed to examine the relationship between the support perceived by married individuals from their spouses and their levels of resilience. The Working group consists of 294 married individuals, 73 (24.8%) men and 221 women (72.2%) participating in the research. "Spousal Support Scale," "Short Psychological Resilience Scale," and "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers to examine socio-demographic characteristics were used to obtain the data. Data were tested with simple linear correlation, simple linear regression, independent sample t-test, and ANOVA test. According to the findings of the study, there is a significant relationship between perceived spousal support and resilience, and spousal support is a significant predictor of resilience. However, while the level of resilience does not differ according to gender, spousal support differs according to gender. While spousal support does not differ according to income level and educational status, psychological resilience differs according to income level but does not differ according to educational status. As a result, the perceived spousal support of married individuals predicts their psychological resilience levels.

  • A gamified environment supported by augmented reality for improving
communicative competencies in students with ASD: design and validation

    • Authors: Nerea López-Bouzas, M. Esther Del Moral Pérez
      Pages: 80 - 93
Abstract: The objective of this study was to design and validate an Augmented Gamified Environment (AGE) for improving communicative skills in students with ASD. The study used a mixed methodology: a) qualitative, focused on a single case to describe the AGE design process. The environment uses a pirate adventure story which includes gamified activities supported by augmented reality. It promotes immersive learning through activities that encourage social, linguistic, and cognitive skills linked to symbolic play; and b) quantitative, based on the Delphi method in which experts (N=12) evaluated the environment using 14 indicators in four dimensions: adaptability to the pace of learning, suitability of the base and code for presenting the content, didactic potential for developing competence, and the suitability of the gamification process for students with ASD. The expert assessment helped to improve the adaptability, flexibility, and functionality of the AGE, which incorporated versatile and augmented reality activities and applications to provide the student with playful linguistic and socio-emotional development in an immersive environment.

  • Cultural e-snapshots as a digital resource

    • Authors: Ernesto Colomo Magaña, Andrea Cívico Ariza
      Pages: 94 - 108
Abstract: Technological advances allow the creation of different types of educational resources. Cultural snapshots, linked to narratives that combine cinema, music and literature, are now developed through videos, blogs or podcasts, called e-snapshots. The creation of these digital resources influences the development of digital competence. Due to this, the objective of this study is to know the influence that the elaboration of cultural e-snapshots has on the level of digital competence of future teachers. A quantitative longitudinal panel design was applied (pre-test and post-test), with a descriptive and inferential approach. The sample is made up of 113 prospective primary teachers from the University of Malaga (Spain) in the 2021/2022 academic year. The Digital Competence Questionnaire for Future Teachers was used as an instrument. The results indicate a notable perception of the level of digital competence after creating the e-snapshots, significantly improving compared to the moment prior to their development. Regarding the gender variable, there are significant differences in favor of men. In conclusion, the creation of cultural e-snapshots is a creative alternative for the design of educational resources that favors the improvement of digital competence.

  • Development of empathy and ethical values through role-playing games as
           innovation for education in values

    • Authors: Jose David Carnicero Pérez, Ricardo Moreno-Rodríguez, Nerea Felgueras Custodio
      Pages: 109 - 122
Abstract: For some authors, the development of empathy is a central aspect of the development of ethical values. Role-playing games can be the ideal vehicle to transfer learning from fiction to reality. The present study analyzes in an exploratory and descriptive way the scores obtained in the Test of Cognitive and Affective Empathy (TECA) of a total sample of 208 participants. Although no major differences were found between those who had previously participated in role-playing games and those who had not, there was a tendency to obtain higher mean scores than those obtained by the TECA through its scales.

  • Music in Spanish schools, high schools and conservatories: educational
response strategies against the COVID-19 pandemic

    • Authors: Alejandro Vargas-Serrano, Antonio Luque de la Rosa, Patrizia Sandri, María Belén Morales-Cevallos
      Pages: 123 - 134
Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that practically all Spanish educational centers have had to adapt the teaching they provide. The case of the musical field in general and that of instrumental practice in particular has had to organize an effective educational response with which to ensure the well-being and learning of students. That is why we have carried out a systematic review based on research questions and a main objective related to the strategies that conservatories and general education centers have adopted in the musical field. Initially we selected a series of databases of recognized international and Hispanic prestige in which to carry out searches with the defined key terms. The different phases of study of the documents were limited by the inclusion criteria and the search formulas, giving rise to the final selection once those documents that appeared duplicates in the databases had been eliminated. The results show how the main strategies in the primary stages are related to collaborative and cooperative work, even in the phase of suppression of educational attendance. In addition, in music conservatories, group instrumental practice has had certain peculiarities during the different phases of the pandemic, with the main strategy carried out by teachers being teacher coordination.

  • Pro-innovation discourses in Geography and History classes

    • Authors: Diego Luna Delgado, Jose Antonio Pineda Alfonso, Francisco Florentino García Pérez, Olga Moreno Fernández
      Pages: 135 - 152
Abstract: Currently, educational innovation is an unavoidable premise for teachers, school headteachers and families. This contribution aims to provide better understanding of the configuration of pro-innovation discourses from a lexicometric perspective. To this end, we applied various textual statistical strategies to the analysis of a corpus made up of twelve verbal texts from four discursive fields: the education policy, the school, the Social Sciences Department and the Geography and History class in which, finally, pro-innovation discourses become practices. The results obtained, which focus on the discursive associations of innovation (collocations, combinations, concordances and co-occurrences), indicate that the meaning of educational innovation is taken for granted, that it has only positive connotations and that it functions as an argument to justify educational reform. In addition, it is noted that innovation is especially linked to new technologies and business vocabulary. We conclude this paper with a defence of the usefulness of the techniques used, but also with a warning of the need to complement the analysis carried out with other linguistic and interpretative techniques.

  • An analysis of the Technology Acceptance Model TAM in understanding
Faculty’s behavioral intention to use Internet of Things IOT

    • Authors: Abdulaziz Alzahrani
      Pages: 153 - 169
Abstract: The study focuses on examining faculty members’ self-efficacy in two departments – Instructional Technology and Computer Science – in using the Internet of Things (IoT) in Saudi universities. To achieve the study’s goal, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was used to test the effect of self-efficacy in the use of the IoT in education. TAM includes the following variables: Faculty Members’ Self-efficacy (FMSE), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Attitude (AT), and Behavioral Intention to Use IoT (BI). The study consists of quantitative research, and the instrument used was a survey developed to measure faculty members’ self-efficacy. The results showed that faculty members who have more confidence in their technology skills are more likely to view IoT technology as beneficial. Perceived ease of use affected both perceived usefulness and attitude toward adopting the IoT. However, perceived usefulness failed to affect attitude, and attitude does not influence behavioral intention to adopt IoT technology.

  • Visual Arts Education literacy in university contexts

    • Authors: Mariana Daniela González-Zamar, Emilio Abad-Segura, Horacio Ademar Ferreyra
      Pages: 170 - 186
Abstract: In a digital world, which is evolving more and more rapidly towards the culture of the visual, acquiring visual literacy tools can be essential, especially for the professional future of university students. Art education manages to enhance the development of visual learning and motivate the student in their process of analysis, discovery, understanding, assessment and apprehension of the visual arts. The use of the image as a teaching tool in the classroom favours the progress of critical and reflective observation and promotes expressive skills. The objective of this work was to present experiences on visual learning in Art Education in university contexts. A systematic review of the literature was carried out during 1990 to 2020. The results allowed us to recognize the main author agents, their research tendencies, and reveal certain gaps in critical knowledge. Research findings and trends converge on the advantages of incorporating visual resources in higher education, emphasizing the importance of sensory approaches to support learning.
