  • OPTIMIZATION OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE DEGREE OF SAGGING IN PILISOLEY
           TECHNIQUE

    • Authors: Ayşegül İLKENTAPAR; Nilay BIÇAK, Banu Yeşim BÜYÜKAKINCI
Abstract: The use of clothing, starting from prehistoric times with the instinct of covering and protecting from natural events and attacks, is a lively fashion item that reflects the characteristics of individuals and society. Designers keep the fashion cycle alive by ensuring the continuity of innovations. Techniques such as drape, pleat and crease are the techniques that emerged as a result of the search for innovation and have been used in clothing for centuries. Pleat is the process of folding, patterning and shaping natural and synthetic-based fabrics passed between molds or rollers under high heat.In this study, pleating methods used in clothing were researched and examples of the Pilisoley technique, which is predominantly used within Vakko, were discussed. Pilisoley is formed by ironing pleats in accordion-like appearance on fabric cut from a slant. Pilisoley clothing often have a "sagging problem". Through this study, it is aimed to reach the correct cut values at once, to prevent sagging and unnecessary fabric consumption, and to save time accordingly.

  • Examination Of The Reasons For The Ottoman Empire To Accept Andalusian
           Jews

    • Authors: Furkan OĞUR
Abstract: In 711, Muslim Arabs began to dominate the Iberian peninsula. In the face of increasing religious and ethnic transformation, the Reconquista Movement (Reconquest) was initiated by the European tribes. After various political, military and social events, the Iberian Peninsula was cleared of Muslim and Jewish elements in 1492. However, while the Jewish community could not get settlement permits from many states, the Ottoman Empire took the Jews under its protection. In this research, the nature of the forced migration movement to which the Jewish and Muslim people were exposed will be examined in terms of the Ottoman Empire in terms of purpose-result relationship. The point aimed to be clarified is “Was the Ottoman Empire accepting Jewish immigrants for requirements of the state religion, because of the sultan's personal influence, or because of the utilitarian understanding of the state'” is to answer the question. The answer to the question asked will be sought by evaluating the statistical data, the expectations of the sultan and the political elite of the period, and finally the situation of the Jewish community among the Ottoman subjects. While the conclusion reached as a result of the study is a good example of pragmatism. The successfull of the policy was also embodied in the economic, social, professional and cultural contributions of Jewish subjects within the Ottoman Empire. The conclusion of the research with the theory of pragmatism in parallel with the initial predictions is sufficient in terms of fulfilling the purpose, but it will be possible and more beneficial to develop it because the evaluation within the framework of Islamic sciences is weak.

           University Students

    • Authors: Buğra AKAY; Recep AYHAN, Rüstem ORHAN, Mehmet ÖÇALAN
Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the relationship between university students' leisure management and technology addictions in terms of some demographic variables. The research was carried out according to the correlational survey model. The sample of the study consists of 335 university students selected by convenience sampling method. The research executed at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Sport Sciences. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 26.0 package program and Cronbach Alpha internal consistency analysis, T-Test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analyzes were applied in the analysis of the data. While no significant difference was determined between the gender variable of the students and the Leisure Management Scale (LMS) and its sub-dimensions; Technology Addiction Scale (TAS) mean scores of male students were found to be significantly higher than female students. Whilst no significant difference was unearthed between the department variable and the LMS and its sub-dimensions, it was unearthed that the TAS score averages of the students of the coaching department were lower than the students of the other departments. When the participants' daily use of technological products and the LMS are examined; the leisure management levels of the students who use technological products more are significantly lower than those who use less. A significant difference was revealed between the students' technology usage time and the TAS and all its sub-dimensions. It has been determined that whenever the technology usage time of the students increases, their technology addiction also increases. A negative significant relationship was found between university students' leisure management and technology addiction. On balance, we can state that the increase in students' leisure management skills reduces their technology addiction.

  • Analysis of Theater Poster Designs According to Brockmann's Grid
           System

    • Authors: Aynur KARAGÖL
Abstract: Poster design has long been an element of social life as a means of communication. One of the first communication tools that come to mind is poster design. Theater posters have an important place in cultural and artistic activities in poster design produced in various genres. The most successful examples of theater and show posters were produced by artists from and in Paris in Europe. Cheret, Toulouse-Lautre, Bonnard, Mucha, Orazi are the prominent names. In researches on the production of posters as a common communication tool, it has been evaluated with both artistic and scientific approaches. Arguing that it will be possible to set up the poster in a predictable way just like a building, Brockmann's thoughts and productions on the grid system are the source of the subject. In this framework, 5 of the play posters played in the 2022-2023 “Devlet Tiyatroları” were selected randomly and evaluated through the grid system in design with the method of qualitative observation and interpretation. It can be said that designs are made to ensure the hierarchy in a plain and simple way by using mostly column grid system in poster design. It is observed that a texture, color or white background covering the whole page is preferred in order to ensure the relationship between the text and the visual element with the background selections in the layout design of the posters.
